Chief justice publicly accepts Obama eligibility petition - By Drew Zahn

Attorney Orly Taitz talks to Roberts, who agrees to read Obama-birth docs California Attorney Dr. Orly TaitzBy Drew Zahn © 2009 WorldNetDaily March 14, 2009 A California attorney lobbying the U.S. Supreme Court for a review of Barack Obama's qualifications to be president confronted the chief justice yesterday with legal briefs and a WND petition bearing names of over 325,000 people asking the court to rule on whether or not the sitting president fulfills the Constitution's "natural-born citizen" clause. Chief Justice John RobertsAccording to Orly Taitz, the attorney who confronted Chief Justice John Roberts at a lecture at the University of Idaho, the judge promised before the gathered crowd that he would, indeed, read and review the briefs and petition. "I addressed him in front of 800 people in the audience," Taitz told WND, "including university officials, the president of the Idaho State Bar and the chief justice of the Supreme Court of Idaho, and in front of all them, [Roberts] promised to read my papers." Roberts was lecturing on Abraham Lincoln to approximately 1,200 attendees of the annual Bellwood Memorial Lecture Series at the Moscow, Idaho, university. Roberts has been chief justice of the Supreme Court since his nomination by President George W. Bush and subsequent confirmation in 2005. Earlier in the week, Taitz confronted Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, who told her the issue of Obama's eligibility, which has been raised before the Supreme Court at least four times but has yet to be given a single hearing, still lacked the votes of the required four justices in conference before it would be officially heard. Taitz said, "I told Scalia that I was an attorney that filed Lightfoot v. Bowen that Chief Justice Roberts distributed for conference on Jan. 23 and now I represent nine state reps and 120 military officers, many of them high ranked, and I want to know if they will hear Quo Warranto and if they would hear it on original jurisdiction, if I bring Hawaii as an additional defendant to unseal the records and ascertain Obama's legitimacy for presidency." The legal phrase Quo Warranto essentially means an explanation is being demanded for what authority Obama is using to act as president. An online constitutional resource says Quo Warranto "affords the only judicial remedy for violations of the Constitution by public officials and agents." [Continue reading]

Lawmakers trash the Constitution -- By Henry Lamb

Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D-CT) has introduced the "Food Safety and Modernization Act of 2009" (HR 875). This new program ignores the 4th Amendment. The administrator can enter and inspect property without a warrant and levy fines without any judicial review. It also includes the NAIS. The lawmakers are ignoring the will of the people and Constitution. From the article:
Scenarios that use food safety and potential cost of a disease outbreak are smoke screens to distract attention away from the fact that for nearly 80 years there has been no major disease outbreak because existing systems make American food the safest in the world. The system proposed by the NAIS and H.R. 875 would not improve food safety, but would give the federal government absolute control over the food supply of every individual and would bring the United States into compliance with the requirements of United Nations agencies that administer global governance.

Pat Boone: The agenda for my first presidential term

By Pat Boone March 14, 2009 News Bulletin: In a stunning, unprecedented civilian uprising, President Obama, Vice President Biden, Speaker Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Reid were recalled and sent packing. Practically overnight, responding to the national emergency, an extraordinary election propelled entertainer/activist Pat Boone into the White House. The new president just revealed his first-term agenda. ... Wow, I had this crazy dream last night! Maybe it's something I ate, or more likely, all the insane stuff we've all been hearing constantly on the news. I say "insane" because the measures and pronouncements being made by our president and our Congress – without consulting at all with the folks who elected them! – are truly the stuff of nightmares. But it's all happening, in real time and right before our eyes. Well, as my dream continued, I saw myself, President Boone, on all media, praying for God's guidance, and then laying out my priorities and commitments to the American people. I believed these were the reasons they had just elected me. [Continue reading]

Beyond conservatism – beyond Reagan - By Joseph Farah

By Joseph Farah March 14, 2009 My friend and colleague Rush Limbaugh is under siege right now from Barack Obama's minions who have placed a target on his back and declared him public enemy No. 1. I can understand why. Rush's program is, in many ways, a beacon of truth and common sense in an age of lies and disinformation. He also commands the largest audience of any dissenter from the path of socialism chosen by Obama's Democrats and cheerleaders in the Big Media. While the Obama crowd is hoping the nation and the world will put behind them Ronald Reagan conservatism, now personified by Rush, they eagerly embrace the failures of the past with a new brand of supercharged Franklin D. Roosevelt-style Big Government. But are those really the only choices facing this nation? Is the choice really between Reagan and Roosevelt? Is the choice between conservatism and liberalism? Or are there other choices we should consider? For a long time, I have tried to get my conservative friends to consider a more ambitious agenda – especially as our nation has drifted further and further from its roots in constitutionally limited government, individual liberty and personal responsibility. While I love Rush and love Reagan, I have to tell you that liberalism is not the only enemy of freedom. We're losing too much ground too fast. We need an offensive agenda to keep America free and prosperous. It's time to realize that even electing another Reagan, if one were on the scene, is not enough to reverse the destruction wrought upon this country's most cherished institutions since he left office in 1989. Michael Steele should go - By Star Parker

Star Parker By Star Parker March 14, 2009 From what I see, the Republican National Committee representatives who picked Michael Steele as their new chairman made a mistake. I think Steele ought to step aside. It pains me to say it, but it pains me more to watch the opposition party, the Republican Party, spin aimlessly and leaderless, while the Obama administration shreds to pieces, with ruthless focus and discipline, everything this country stands for. Yes, of course, the defining moment for me is the recent GQ magazine interview in which Steele sounds more like a Democrat than a Republican. Does a woman have a right to choose abortion? "Yeah. Absolutely." Is homosexual behavior something an individual can choose? "It's like saying, 'Tomorrow morning I'm gonna stop being black.'" Should we amend the Constitution to define marriage? "I don't like mucking around with the Constitution." I guess Mr. Steele does like mucking around with his own party's platform, which supports such an amendment. Look, over just the last week, Barack Obama sent to Capitol Hill the most irresponsible budget ever proposed by any president – calling it, as you would only expect from Obama, "A New Era of Responsibility." And he overturned the existing ban on using federal funds to destroy human embryos to do stem cell research – calling it, as you would only expect from an Obama spokesman, "sound scientific practice … instead of dogma in developing federal policy." And what am I writing about? Michael Steele. [Continue reading]

Agent accuses Sutton of cover-up in drug murders - By Jerome Corsi

Informant in case handled by prosecutor of Ramos-Compean seeks asylum By Jerome R. Corsi © 2009 WorldNetDaily U.S. Attorney Johnny SuttonA Mexican national's appeal in federal court for asylum because of his work as an American government-paid informant against the drug cartel marked another chapter in a case in which a former Drug Enforcement Agency special agent continues to allege the U.S. government – including U.S. Attorney Johnny Sutton – is hiding its complicity in the cartel's murder of more than a dozen people. Guillermo Eduardo Ramirez-Peyro, better known as "Lalo," appeared in federal court earlier this week to fight extradition, arguing his life would be in jeopardy if he were forced to return to Mexico. Lalo, according to Sandy Gonzalez, a former special agent in charge at the DEA office in El Paso, Texas, wore recording devices and taped at least one of the tortures and murders of more than a dozen people between July 2003 and January 2004. The murders allegedly were orchestrated by the Santillan family, headed by Heriberto Santillan-Tabares, a top operative in the Ciudad Juarez drug cartel. Gonzalez told WND he believes Sutton was aware of the "House of Death" murders, prompting a letter in February 2004 to the prosecutor alleging possible criminal violations by U.S. government officials. "Instead of investigating my complaints, Sutton complained about me to the DEA and the Justice Department in Washington," Gonzalez told WND. "My superiors in Washington told me to leave this matter alone and to be quiet." Gonzalez asserts the mainstream media have left unreported the active role of El Paso-based U.S. Attorney Sutton, the Department of Justice, Immigrations and Customs Enforcement [ICE], the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Department of Homeland Security in an ongoing, elaborate cover-up. Gonzalez says that although Santillan was prosecuted under drug and murder charges, Sutton allowed the drug kingpin to plead guilty to the drug charges, with the agreement the murder charges would be dropped. Sutton's office did not respond to repeated requests by WND for comment. The Department of Homeland Security also did not respond. The Drug Enforcement Administration referred WND to the Department of Justice, but the DOJ did not reply. [Continue reading]

Eligibility bill hits Congress - By Drew Zahn

Representative files law requiring candidates show birth certificate By Drew Zahn © 2009 WorldNetDaily A freshman representative has introduced a bill to the U.S. Congress that would require presidential candidates to provide a birth certificate and other documents to prove their eligibility to occupy the Oval Office. Rep. Bill Posey, R-Fla., filed H.R. 1503, an amendment to the Federal Election Campaign Act of 1971, which increased required campaign fund disclosure and was later amended to establish the Federal Elections Commission. Rep. Bill Posey, R-Fla According to the Library of Congress' bill-tracking website, H.R. 1503 would "require the principal campaign committee of a candidate for election to the office of president to include with the committee's statement of organization a copy of the candidate's birth certificate, together with such other documentation as may be necessary to establish that the candidate meets the qualifications for eligibility to the Office of President under the Constitution." George Cecala, a spokesperson for Rep. Posey's office, told WND that constituents had been calling, questioning whether Barack Obama – who has publicized a Certificate of Live Birth, but not his official birth certificate – has demonstrated that he meets the Constitution's requirement to be a natural-born citizen. "Those are legitimate constitutional concerns," Cecala said. "Folks have brought the issue up, and the court really hasn't clarified. And I think American citizens have a right to have answers from their government." [Continue reading]

Distorted textbooks used to erode religious understanding??

Authors Warn That Many Textbooks Distort Religion By Lauren Green Jesus was a Palestinian? That's what one public school textbook says. Although Jesus lived in a region known in his time as Palestine, the use of the term "Palestinian," with its modern connotations, is among the hundreds of textbook flaws cited in a recent five-year study of educational anti-Semitism detailed in the book "The Trouble with Textbooks: Distorting History and Religion." Authors Gary Tobin and Dennis Ybarra of the Institute for Jewish and Community Research found some 500 imperfections and distortions concerning religion in 28 of the most widely used social studies and history textbooks in the United States. Ybarra, a research associate at the institute, called the above example "shocking." A "true or false" question on the origins of Christianity asserted that "Christianity was started by a young Palestinian named Jesus." The teacher's edition says this is "true." But even though Jesus is the founder of Christianity, the question ignores the fact that he was Jewish. And Ybarra said, "The Christian scriptures say that he preached in Judea and Galilee, not Palestine," a term that was used at the time as a less specific description of the broader region between the Mediterranean Sea and the Jordan River. Ybarra says part of the problem is that publishers employ or contract with writers who are not experts in the subject, or they may use out-of-date information. Or they may bow to special interest groups. "They're under pressure from all kinds of minority groups, religious groups, and they try to satisfy everyone and that results in content that is dumbed down to the lowest common denominator," he said. "And so, in that process, things can be missed. Errors can survive." [Continue reading]

Liberal Hypocrisy Over Limbaugh Comments

by Demosthenes The liberal lunatics are at it again. Weeks after the Obama administration and the rest of the left-wing crackpots declared radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh the Republican party’s “leader,” they’re hard at work demonizing the entertainer, with the White House calling their demonization of Rush “fun.” The declaration of Limbaugh’s trumped-up status as leader of the party has been reported all over the media as if the words spoken by the Messiah’s administration become fact just by their utterance. Now they’re calling for his head and demanding apologies from all Republicans for a comment about their beloved Teddy Kennedy. Ignoring the fact that he’s a radio talk show host, not a politician or leader, why should anyone but Rush himself have to apologize for the comments? That’s nearly as bad as having to listen to eight years of the media calling Ann Coulter—a private opinion columnist—one of Bush’s “top aides.” These people may be conservative, but they’re not politicians. We don’t go around demanding the entire Democratic party apologize for every kooky thing Al Franken or Michael Moore says. But, even putting that aside, why should Rush have to apologize? His comment, for those who haven’t heard, was that before the health care reform bill passes, “it’ll be called the Ted Kennedy memorial health care bill.” But the idea of having the bill named after Kennedy has been all over the place in the Democratic party. Their main complaint is that he joked about Kennedy dying. Kennedy has a brain tumor and the prognosis indicates he probably only has months left to live, especially after suffering another seizure a few months ago. So, while what Rush said is probably true, he’s some kind of devil for joking about it. [Continue reading]

Glenn Beck - Interviews - Glenn Beck talks with Chuck Norris

You will learn something you may never have known had it not been for this Glenn Beck interview with Chuck Norris (text transcript). From the article (interview):

GLENN: If we're both sitting there and there's a nuke and you've got the red wire and the green wire and we're both sweating and you're like, I don't know, I'm going to go with my instinct, I think I'd like a little bit more. NORRIS: Hey, actually I did a movie like that called President's Man. Listen to this. No one knows about this. But in 2000 I did a movie of the week called President's Man and what I do as President's Man, when the FBI and the CIA can't take care of a situation for the president, I come in and take care of it for him. And so we did one. It was so successful that CBS wanted me to do another one. So I started thinking about a story for another movie and I was talking to Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison and I said, Kay, I said, what is the greatest threat we have in America? And she says, our greatest fear is Osama Bin Laden's going to sneak a nuclear device into our country. And I said, oh, really? So I got my writers together. We wrote a story about Osama Bin Laden sneaking a nuclear device into America and hiding it actually in Chicago, which we didn't know at the time, and he calls the president and says, "I want you to release my holy warriors from the 1993 bombing or I'm going to explode this nuclear device in your country." So I get called in -- GLENN: Wait, wait, this is in 2000 you did this? NORRIS: Yeah, this is in 2000. So anyway, I go to Afghanistan, I kidnap Osama Bin Laden, and I bring him back to the United States for trial. Then during that time -- and then the attorney general's a Muslim as well, Osama, and they get into a debate about the interpretation of the Qur'an and the, you know, the attorney general says the Qur'an talks about tolerance, you know, not war. GLENN: Did you make this movie? NORRIS: Oh, yeah. Anyway, so I do the movie, I finally find the nuclear weapon, disarm it at the last minute like Jack Bauer did. I was trying to find the right wire to cut down to two seconds. Anyway, we deliver this movie to CBS on September 7th, 2001. GLENN: Holy cow. NORRIS: Then four days later, of course, 9/11 hits. So now CBS doesn't know what to do. You know, the name of it was called Ground Zero was the name of the movie. GLENN: Has it ever been seen? NORRIS: No.

Vaccine maker's snafu sparks pandemic scare - By Drew Zahn

By Drew Zahn © 2009 WorldNetDaily An Illinois-based vaccine manufacturer is being investigated after an experiment gone very wrong led scientists to discover the company had released a contaminated product feared capable of starting a world-wide avian flu pandemic. The Canadian Press reports that Baxter International's European research facility in Orth-Donau, Austria, supplied materials contaminated with the deadly avian H5N1 influenza virus to a research company that then sent portions to labs in the Czech Republic, Slovenia and Germany. The labs thought they were receiving the less deadly, but more readily communicable, human H3N2 virus. When the Czech facility, however, injected a group of ferrets with the virus, the animals died – something that does not happen with H3N2 – prompting scientists to realize an error. What the scientists were dealing with, in fact, was something far more dangerous. Baxter's Austrian lab had sent a mix of H3N2 seasonal viruses and unlabeled, live H5N1 viruses. H3N2 is highly communicable, but less harmful. H5N1 is less easily transmitted to humans, but often lethal. If both strains, scientists fear, were to incubate in a single subject, a hybrid virus could be birthed capable of both sweeping the globe and killing in its wake. [Continue reading]

No He Can't - By Anne Wortham

Anne Wortham is an individualist liberal who happens to be black and American - So you have made history, Americans. You and your children have elected a black man to the office of the president of the United States, the wounded giant of the world. The battle between John Wayne and Jane Fonda is over – and that Fonda won. ~ rjwusa
By Anne Wortham Fellow Americans, Please know: I am black; I grew up in the segregated South. I did not vote for Barack Obama; I wrote in Ron Paul’s name as my choice for president. Most importantly, I am not race conscious. I do not require a black president to know that I am a person of worth, and that life is worth living. I do not require a black president to love the ideal of America. I cannot join you in your celebration. I feel no elation. There is no smile on my face. I am not jumping with joy. There are no tears of triumph in my eyes. For such emotions and behavior to come from me, I would have to deny all that I know about the requirements of human flourishing and survival – all that I know about the history of the United States of America, all that I know about American race relations, and all that I know about Barack Obama as a politician. I would have to deny the nature of the "change" that Obama asserts has come to America. Most importantly, I would have to abnegate my certain understanding that you have chosen to sprint down the road to serfdom that we have been on for over a century. I would have to pretend that individual liberty has no value for the success of a human life. I would have to evade your rejection of the slender reed of capitalism on which your success and mine depend. I would have to think it somehow rational that 94 percent of the 12 million blacks in this country voted for a man because he looks like them (that blacks are permitted to play the race card), and that they were joined by self-declared "progressive" whites who voted for him because he doesn’t look like them. The Party of Rush

Who's in charge of the GOP? When someone finds out, let the rest of us know. Atlas Shrugs: THIS IS GOOD!

I'm Tired By Robert A. Hall I’ll be 63 soon. Except for one semester in college when jobs were scarce, and a six-month period when I was between jobs, but job-hunting every day, I’ve worked, hard, since I was 18. Despite some health challenges, I still put in 50-hour weeks, and haven’t called in sick in seven or eight years. I make a good salary, but I didn’t inherit my job or my income, and I worked to get where I am. Given the economy, there’s no retirement in sight, and I’m tired. Very tired. I’m tired of being told that I have to “spread the wealth around” to people who don’t have my work ethic. I’m tired of being told the government will take the money I earned, by force if necessary, and give it to people too lazy or stupid to earn it. I’m tired of being told that I have to pay more taxes to “keep people in their homes.” Sure, if they lost their jobs or got sick, I’m willing to help. But if they bought McMansions at three times the price of our paid-off, $250,000 condo, on one-third of my salary, then let the leftwing Congresscritters who passed Fannie and Freddie and the Community Reinvestment Act that created the bubble help them—with their own money. I’m tired of being told how bad America is by leftwing millionaires like Michael Moore, George Soros and Hollywood entertainers who live in luxury because of the opportunities America offers. In thirty years, if they get their way, the United States will have the religious freedom and women’s rights of Saudi Arabia, the economy of Zimbabwe, the freedom of the press of China, the crime and violence of Mexico, the tolerance for Gay people of Iran, and the freedom of speech of Venezuela. Won’t multiculturalism be beautiful? [Continue reading at Atlas Shrugs, or see the original at Old Jarhead.]

Stephen Baldwin Slams Hollywood

Baldwin stated a fact that says, "Family programming and animated films make more money." When it comes to the violent and vulgar content, Baldwin Says; "Hollywood just stands around and says, ‘Oh well, the parents are responsible for whether or not those kids should watch that content.’ That’s just not true,” Baldwin insists.
By: Rick Pedraza Actor and media personality Stephen Baldwin says the “vulgar and offensive” content in Hollywood productions is one reason why the United States now has such high rates of unemployment, suicide and teen pregnancy. “The fact that they churn out more content that is gratuitously violent, sexual and vulgar, when in fact more family programming and animated films make more money – there’s you’re agenda problem,” Baldwin tells CNS News. Baldwin, attending last week’s Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington to sign copies of his new book, “The Death and Life of Gabriel Phillips,” tells CNS News that Hollywood produces too many anti-family films while pro-family films are the ones that sell, and that Hollywood is wrong for saying it’s “solely up to the parents” to control what their children watch. Susan Estrich Warns Democrats About Dangers Attacking Rush

By P.J. Gladnick Susan Estrich is worried. Very worried. She believes that the current coordinated Democrat strategy of attacking Rush Limbaugh is completely counterproductive. And she's right: He talks for hours every day. He gets paid to talk. Just talk. Doing it well is no small thing; witness the number of people who have tried to be him, or be the NOT-him, and failed. But he doesn't have to build a coalition. He doesn't need the votes of the other side to earn his check. He doesn't have to write the legislation, convince Olympia Snowe, raise money to keep the lights on, put his name on the ballot. All the things he doesn't have to do give him the freedom to be as effective as he is at what he does. Trying to beat him at his own game when your own game is played by a different set of rules is a losing proposition. He knows that. [Continue reading at NewsBusters]
Echoing Estrich's views is Peter Daou, a Democrat political strategist who worked on the campaigns of John Kerry and Hillary Clinton. Daou posted his worries about the attack Rush strategy on his Huffington Post blog nervously titled, "Why on Earth Are Democrats Legitimizing and Empowering Rush Limbaugh?"
I don't buy into this 'brilliant' strategy of elevating Rush Limbaugh in the hopes that it will tarnish Republicans. ...There's precious little benefit in making Limbaugh more of a central player, in engaging him directly from the White House podium, in raising his stature, in stamping, sealing and approving the years he's spent bashing his political opponents. The president's plan to stimulate poverty - By Jane Chastain

But Barack Obama had praised the welfare reforms of 1996 during the election campaign. Go figure..." Another great digg user and friend, indygirl, submitted the same story, only from the other WND url, and she said it in a way I liked better than my description: "1965, L. Obama praised these reforms during his campaign, but now he seems bent on trapping ignorant people into poverty and control." It was the part when indygirl wrote, "he seems bent on trapping ignorant people into poverty and control," that was the perfect follow-up to what I had stated above. Rothschild Agents Take 10 Key Posts In Obama Administration

"Six former Rhodes Scholars (educated at Oxford University in Britain) and four others associated with the London School of Economics are serving in key posts in the Obama administration. That's not good." By Michael Collins Piper American Free Press 02-21-2009 Our greatest founding father and first president, George Washington, probably wouldn't be ready to celebrate his birthday on Feb. 22 if he were alive today. Having led the 13 colonies to independence from the British Empire in 1783, following the course of a difficult eight-year struggle by those freedom-loving American colonists who followed him, Washington (who lived from 1732 to 1799) would most assuredly be appalled to see that the liberties achieved from the American Revolution are now being flagrantly defied by a number of figures who populate the upper ranks of the administration of Barack Obama. Six former Rhodes Scholars (educated at Oxford University in Britain) and four others associated with the London School of Economics are serving in key posts in the Obama administration. That's not good. Here are 10 of the key "British"-that is, Rothschild -operatives now ensconced in the Obama administration (more can be expected): Susan Rice - ambassador to the UN; Michael McFaul - head of the Russian desk at the National Security Council; Elena Kagan - solicitor general of the United States; Anne-Marie Slaughter - State Department policy planning staff; Neal S.Wolin - deputy counsel to the president for economic policy; Ezekial Emanuel - senior counselor at the White House Office of Management and Budget on health care policy; Lawrence Summers - head of the National Economic Council; Peter Orszag - director of the Office of Management and Budget; Peter Rouse - senior advisor to the president; Mona Sutphen - deputy chief of the White House staff. No Habeas Rights For Obama Detainees - Bush Right Again

Obama Stays the Course on Bagram The Justice Department today said it would adhere to the Bush administration's position that detainees imprisoned at a U.S. air base in Afghanistan have no right to challenge their confinement in U.S. courts. Last month, U.S. District Judge John Bates gave the new administration an opportunity to refine its position in cases involving four detainees incarcerated at the Bagram prison, located on a converted Soviet base about 30 miles north of Kabul. They are seeking the same rights as prisoners held at the naval base in Guantánamo Bay, Cuba -- more than 200 of whom are challenging their detention in habeas proceedings in U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. Acting Assistant Attorney General Michael Hertz filed the government's response today. Here it is, in full: "This Court’s Order of January 22, 2009 invited the Government to inform the Court by February 20, 2009, whether it intends to refine its position on whether the Court has jurisdiction over habeas petitions filed by detainees held at the United States military base in Bagram, Afghanistan. Having considered the matter, the Government adheres to its previously articulated position." The approximately 650 prisoners in the hardscrabble Bagram prison are being held there indefinitely and without charge. The prison is closed to journalists and human rights activists, and while it has long been dubbed "the other Guantánamo," Bagram detainees lack the same privileges, such as regular access to lawyers. While the Guantánamo population has dwindled to about 245, Bagram has added more than 100 prisoners since 2005, according to the Defense Department. President Obama has ordered a task force led by the attorney general and the defense secretary to review overall policy on detainees. A report is due in six months. A Justice Department spokesman declined to speculate on whether the government's position may change following the review. [Continue reading]
