New data shows that the “vanishing” of polar ice is not the result of runaway global warming

[Paul] Homewood's interest in the Arctic is partly because the "vanishing" of its polar ice (and the polar bears) has become such a poster-child for those trying to persuade us that we are threatened by runaway warming. But he chose that particular stretch of the Arctic because it is where ice is affected by warmer water brought in by cyclical shifts in a major Atlantic current – this last peaked at just the time 75 years ago when Arctic ice retreated even further than it has done recently. The ice-melt is not caused by rising global temperatures at all.

The days of being a "climate change denier," resulting in ostracization, are about over. It is becoming more difficult for the leftist global warming enthusiasts to pressure their colleagues by black-balling them from employment in various industries, academic institutions, and government agencies.

The problem for Al Gore and his sycophants is that, at least for now, there is plenty of information out in the cyber-sphere where it is shown that there is plenty of reason to question the "consensus" of the so-called scientific experts. With evidence that "scientific" data was skewed in order to make their case, the AGW (antropogenic global warming) theory is no longer beyond reasonable doubt.

It's getting extremely difficult to believe that man has the ability to so drastically alter climate. And it is disturbing that so many people don't yet understand, or realize, or believe, that the climate-change-caused-by-man theory is backed by globalists and socialists (Marxists). Those are the last people that we would want to be controlling energy! Just sayin'...

When future generations look back on the global-warming scare of the past 30 years, nothing will shock them more than the extent to which the official temperature records – on which the entire panic ultimately rested – were systematically “adjusted” to show the Earth as having warmed much more than the actual data justified.

Two weeks ago, under the headline “How we are being tricked by flawed data on global warming”, I wrote about Paul Homewood, who, on his Not a lot of people know that blog, had checked the published temperature graphs for three weather stations in Paraguay against the temperatures that had originally been recorded. In each instance, the actual trend of 60 years of data had been dramatically reversed, so that a cooling trend was changed to one that showed a marked warming.

This was only the latest of many examples of a practice long recognised by expert observers around the world – one that raises an ever larger question mark over the entire official surface-temperature record.

Liberals have more excuses than Hillary Clinton testifying before Congress about her dead employees. For them, climate change is the cause of everything evil in the world, even the actions of ISIS! The fact remains, Liberals can’t handle leaders who have differing opinions of global warming that are based on intelligence and logic. They remain intolerant of anyone with a belief other than their own, and just can’t seem to coexist with people who speak out against their agenda.

It is kind of a national embarrassment for Americans to have to deal with having a President that can't seem to compete intellectually with Vladimir Putin when it comes to having any common sense. In fact, that goes for all of the Liberals in America that have fallen for the biggest scam in history; or, they're part of it. Just a little common sense is all we ask from our President! I know, I'm asking for way too much, and I'm not holding my breath! Just sayin'...

Putin continues to woo common sense Americans by saying what many of us have been thinking for years about a myriad of subjects. His latest proclamation is that man-made climate change is a farce, merely a globalist tool being used against industrial development, and more specifically oil, coal, and natural gas.

As with most things Putin these days, this goes in direct contradiction to Barack Obama. Recall Obama’s 60 Minutes interview with Steve Kroft several weeks ago. Kroft pressed Obama by telling him Putin was challenging his leadership by putting ground troops in Syria. Part of his answer was,

“My definition of leadership would be leading on climate change in an international accord that potentially we will get in Paris.”

I remember watching this interview, thinking, “What did I miss?”

Sheriff Joe on Obama eligibility probe: 'Where there's smoke ... '

It has been awhile since I have posted anything about Obama's Constitutional eligibility. It was getting to the point where all the stories were becoming redundant. And much of the redundancy was that even if there was unequivocal evidence that the President was not eligible to hold office according to the Constitution, nobody cared.

However, there are people that do care, and will keep on harping on it until the day Obama leaves office. Though I'm not sure what the point is anymore, those that honor the Constitution are people that I can and do respect.

What makes this story different is that it is about an investigation to make sure that President Obama is Constitutionally eligible to have his name on the ballot in Arizona for the 2012 election.

In an interview with WND, Sheriff Arpaio explained:

"I don't know where this is going," he said of the eligibility probe, "but I'll tell you one thing: I'm not backing down. I'm not worried about politics.

"If I get defeated for going after this, well, OK."

Again, I have to emphasize that it really won't matter what the Sheriff's posse finds out. A microfiche showing that Obama was born of Satan would not really matter too much for many people, apparently.

But. now, if we could just get Sheriff Arpaio's posse to after global warming and Al Gore. I'm just sayin'...

ORLANDO, Fla. – While the top Republican candidates refuse to touch the issue of Barack Obama's eligibility, at least four are eagerly seeking the endorsement of America's best-known lawman, who told a gathering of Florida tea partiers yesterday that his "Cold Case Posse" probe examining the president's qualification for his state's 2012 ballot is in full swing.

Maricopa County, Ariz., Sheriff Joe Arpaio, known nationally for his tough and sometimes unorthodox enforcement of immigration laws, delivered a steady stream of one-liners at the expense of his fierce critics in an hour-long talk that drew frequent laughter from attendees of the Eastern Orlando Tea Party's "Choose Liberty 2012" conference.

With his trademark prison-issue pink shorts on sale at the back of the room, Arpaio explained why he undertook the controversial "inquiry," as he called it, into the president's eligibility for the Arizona state ballot next year and assigned it to his volunteer team of former cops and lawyers.

He's already come to the conclusion that a simple way to determine the validity of the birth certificate issued by the White House April 27 is to obtain a microfiche version of it. It should exist, he said, since copies from microfiche of birth certificates for twins born the day before Obama, the Nordykes, have been published.

"I would highly recommend to the president that if there is microfilm, let's get it," he told the Orlando crowd. "If we could show he was on the microfilm the next day – that he was born in Hawaii – all the controversy would go."

Arpaio deadpanned that if he can help Obama by proving "through the investigation" that he was born in America, "maybe he'll invite me to Hawaii."

Fewer manufacturing jobs a good thing ~ By Walter E. Williams

U.S. manufacturing employment peaked at 19.5 million jobs in 1979. Since 1979, the manufacturing workforce has shrunk by 40 percent, and there's every indication that manufacturing employment will continue to shrink. Because of automation, the U.S. worker is now three times as productive as in 1980 and twice as productive as in 2000. It's productivity gains, rather than outsourcing and imports, that explains most of our manufacturing job loss.

Walter E. Williams explains that America's manufacturing production is really not down like people think it is. Though the number of people employed in manufacturing has been drastically reduced by 40% since 1979, Walter explains why that may not really be a bad thing.

So many statements we accept as true, plausible or beyond question; but are they? Let's look at a couple of important ones: global warming and U.S. manufacturing decline.

In 2000, Dr. David Viner of University of East Anglia's disgraced Climatic Research Unit advised, "Within a few years winter snowfall will become a very rare and exciting event," and "Children just aren't going to know what snow is." Britain's Meteorological Office said this December was "almost certain" to become the coldest since records began in 1910. Paul Michaelwaite, forecaster for NetWeather.tv, said, "It is looking like this winter could be in the top 20 cold winters in the last 100 years."

In reference to the last decade of the Earth's cooling, geologist Dr. Don J. Easterbrook, emeritus professor at Western Washington University, says, "Recent solar changes suggest that it could be fairly severe, perhaps more like the 1880 to 1915 cool cycle than the more moderate 1945-1977 cool cycle. A more drastic cooling, similar to that during the Dalton and Maunder minimums, could plunge the Earth into another Little Ice Age, but only time will tell if that is likely." Global warming hype is nothing less than a gambit for more government control over our lives.

How about statements like these: "The United States got to where it is today by making things." "There's nothing made here anymore." "One-third of the nation's manufacturing jobs have vanished in the past decade." These statements suggest that we are no longer the world's top manufacturer; we have all but turned into a nation of "hamburger flippers."

Climategate: The Truth Hurts When It Hits You in the Head

By Dexter Wright January 18, 2010 The joke on the internet these days is "What do Tiger Woods and Phil Jones of East Anglia University in Britain have in common? They both got hit in the head by a model." In 2007, Professors David Douglass, John Christy, Benjamin Pearson, and Fred Singer wrote a scientific paper in the International Journal of Climatology, which compared Global Climate Models (GCMs) with real observed data. GCMs were theoretically designed to forecast how greenhouse gases (GHGs) are warming the planet. There are certain rules that must be followed in scientific investigations in order to ensure that the results and conclusions are not erroneous. Basically, the process requires an investigator to operate under multiple hypotheses so that he is not blinded to facts that might contradict one of his hypotheses and leave him with a dead end. An investigator should start by working from the known to the unknown, from the simple to the complex, and always bend the theory to fit the facts -- not the other way around. This is exactly how the four scholars led by Professor Douglass conducted their investigation into the accuracy of the GCMs. The GCMs were touted by the now-discredited Dr. Jones as accurate predictions of how the planet is responding to GHGs, but no serious published work had been done to compare these GCMs with real observations to find out if the theoretical models agreed with the established facts. The results of these comparisons done by Prof. Douglass and his team were found to be significantly divergent. The paper states the following:

Model results and observed temperature trends are in disagreement in most of the tropical troposphere, being separated by more than twice the uncertainty of the model mean.

In English, that says that the models could not be trusted. This news publicly enraged the gang led by Dr. Jones. They fired off more than 29 e-mails concerning this one paper. But the real story is that these findings did not surprise them. In one of the recently uncovered Climategate e-mails from Dr. Fred Pearce to Dr. Keith Briffa, dated the 13th of October, 1996, Dr. Pearce delivers the bad news that the data does not agree with the models. Well, this vision is coming into focus in the first year of Obama, but the Left might regret the outcome. Take Wal-Mart, for example. Bedeviled for years by Labor for thwarting all efforts to unionize its workforce, rising above Labor-backed "boycott Wal-Mart" campaigns to become the No. 1 employer in the private sector in the U.S., Wal-Mart got tired of playing defense. The TV ad campaign in favor of President Obama's health insurance "reform" caught the Left by surprise. Suddenly, Wal-Mart was cool again. The MSM discarded the "Wal-Mart as evil" theme and adopted the new "Wal-Mart as good corporate citizen" theme. The Left and the MSM were both fooled. Wal-Mart had long provided health insurance to its employees, a price it paid along with pay increases to keep its employees non-union. Y2K came and went, without so much as a flicker. Everything kept working just as it had the day before, and a lot of us felt pretty foolish. We long ago let spiders and ants feast on the foodstuff, and though I dutifully went out and started the generator once in a while for several years, it finally got bored and died. And now, we Americans are being deluged with frantic propaganda about two other imminent dangers – a health care system that is so inadequate and expensive that it threatens to bankrupt the nation, and a global-warming climate change that will turn the whole world into a Mad Max hell. The proponents of drastic measures to avoid these cataclysmic disasters, including our current administration, are virtually screaming the modern equivalent of "THE SKY IS FALLING! THE SKY IS FALLING!" And as they do, they urgently propose big-government takeovers as the only possible solution to both alarms. Notice it's not conservative, free-enterprise leaders and thinkers who are making these proposals – it's folks who already favor big government as the answer to everything, and they feel they've found the way to enforce that at last. I'm just one guy, but I do a lot of thinking, and I have loved this country and the way we normally do things for a long time. I really get nervous, even agitated, when I feel our citizenry is being steamrolled, even bamboozled, into precipitous and likely counterproductive actions. More and more Americans are hoping that things aren't what they seem, because they don't like what they see, and they don't want more. Americans are seeing through the style and rhetoric of the Obama campaign to what those words meant and what they'd do to our system of government and our country. It's clear Obama's goal is to increase the size and power of the federal government beyond what most Americans thought possible. Under Obama, the federal government grows by leaps and bounds. There's more government intrusion into the private sector than at any time in history, with more planned. It's an increase of federal power into virtually all aspects of American life – business, economy, education, culture, banking and real estate – to say nothing of the ravaging of the Constitution and the judiciary. Even if we accept, for purposes of argument, the assumptions of radical, hysterical leftist environmentalists that man-caused global warming will destroy the planet if evil, rich capitalists don't radically curtail their own contributions to the catastrophe, Waxman-Markey would not prevent this Armageddon. Climate scientist Chip Knappenberger, of New Hope Environmental Services, calculates that the bill would only reduce Earth's temperature by 0.1 to 0.2 degree Celsius by 2100. The Heritage Foundation's Ben Lieberman says he's found no "decent refutation of the assertion that the temperature impact would be inconsequential." Unfortunately, the bill's negative impact on the economy would not be inconsequential. Lieberman says the bill would cause estimated job losses averaging about 1.15 million from 2012-2030, and the cumulative projected loss in gross domestic product would be almost $10 trillion by 2035. The national debt from this bill alone, disregarding the multiple bailouts, stimulus packages and health care "reform," would increase by 2035 for a family of four by 26 percent, or $115,000. Heritage is not alone in making these claims. The far more liberal Brookings Institution estimates the bill would cost 1.8 percent of GDP in 2035 and 2.5 percent by 2050. Heritage's "Foundry" blog concludes, "Economists from liberal think tanks, conservative think tanks, and industry associations agree that Waxman-Markey will reduce income by hundreds of billions of dollars per year."
