WIFLI Briefing for Apr 30, 2012 - We the People CAN Win!

Welcome to this edition of Time 2 Escape WIFLI Briefing!

What is WIFLI?
You may be wondering what the acronym "WIFLI" means. I started out by calling these issues the Time 2 Escape Daily, but that didn't work out very well. I quickly learned that putting these issues together on a daily basis was a task I was unable to accomplish. To replace "Daily" in the title, I borrowed the acronym WIFLI, which literally means "When I Feel Like It." Putting together a post on this blog WIFLI works much better for my schedule, and for the higher quality of each issue that is eventually published!

I am hoping that if you have read a few of my blog posts in this venue, that you will understand that I lean considerably toward being Conservative. And I hope that you have determined that I excel at delivering a narrative that exhibits the confidant personal belief... that I'm right.

However, I have to admit it, I've had times of wondering why I should bother to spend the time working on my blogs. Am I going to change anyone's mind, or am I just preaching to the choir? How would I know if my efforts make a difference?

I really do not have a way to answer that question. There's no tangible statistics like homeruns or strikeouts that tells me if I have a measurable influence in the direction this country was heading. The Rasmussen Report hasn't offered that information to me yet; and if they did, I'd be running for President. If I was a history-maker, you would have heard about it by now.

But I have learned something new this weekend. Hopefully, you will totally understand what was revealed to me. The toughest part of the lesson is knowing that not everyone will agree with everything that we believe. There was the good news that on The Weekend last Saturday when Michael Berry explained very astutely how we must not be dejected when we can not convince a liberal to our way of thinking. It does happen, but not often. What really matters is how many people we touch that had not yet made a decision on which side they are on.

The announcement that you will hear today, the one that will resonate strongly within yourself, is "Game ON!" Hopefully, the resonance will be deep, The stark reality that you will learn about below is that we will win a few when we fight back. We can't win every battle even when we are on the right side.  But here's the deal: The liberals need to understand that we're not going to just lay down and comply, even when they pick five to crucify.  I'm just sayin'...

Rural kids, parents angry about Labor Dept. rule banning farm chores
From The Daily Caller ~ By Patrick Richardson ~ Published Apr 25, 2012 1:31 AM

Update, April 26, 7:55 p.m.: Citing public outrage, the Department of Labor has withdrawn the controversial rulemaking proposal described in this article.

——

A proposal from the Obama administration to prevent children from doing farm chores has drawn plenty of criticism from rural-district members of Congress. But now it’s attracting barbs from farm kids themselves.

The Department of Labor is poised to put the finishing touches on a rule that would apply child labor laws to children working on family farms, prohibiting them from performing a list of jobs on their own families’ land.

Under the rules, most children under 18 could no longer work “in the storing, marketing and transporting of farm product raw materials.”

“Prohibited places of employment,” a Department press release read, “would include country grain elevators, grain bins, silos, feed lots, stockyards, livestock exchanges and livestock auctions.”

U.S. Labor Secy. Hilda Solis
with her new boss,
President Barack Obama
The new regulations, first proposed August 31 by Labor Secretary Hilda Solis, would also revoke the government’s approval of safety training and certification taught by independent groups like 4-H and FFA, replacing them instead with a 90-hour federal government training course.

Rossie Blinson, a 21-year-old college student from Buis Creek, N.C., told The Daily Caller that the federal government’s plan will do far more harm than good.

“The main concern I have is that it would prevent kids from doing 4-H and FFA projects if they’re not at their parents’ house,” said Blinson.

“I started showing sheep when I was four years old. I started with cattle around 8. It’s been very important. I learned a lot of responsibility being a farm kid.”

Here is a superb video about why the Labor Deptartment's proposed rules needed to be withdrawn. This illustrates the reason why this was a great win for We the People!

Child Labor Law Endangers Family Farms
Each year, an estimated 800,000 children work on farms across the United States.
Mending fences, feeding cattle, and driving tractors are all part of the daily chores for farm kids. But a new U.S. Department of Labor rule could make all of those tasks-- illegal.

Kristen Oaks shows us how those rules could threaten the future of one family farm.

Of course, such ridiculously stupid proposals for more government regulations ended up being withdrawn. And the great news is that this shows us that when the American citizens are awake and alert, We the People can actually overcome the desires of Big Government!

Child Labor Rule Withdrawn
Focus turns to educational programs to reduce farm accidents
From AGWEB (Powered by Farm Journal) ~ By Jennifer Russell ~ Published Apr 27, 2012

The U.S. Department of Labor announced April 26 that it is withdrawing its proposed rule dealing with children who work in the agriculture sector.

The department said in its statement:
"The Obama administration is firmly committed to promoting family farmers and respecting the rural way of life, especially the role that parents and other family members play in passing those traditions down through the generations. The Obama administration is also deeply committed to listening and responding to what Americans across the country have to say about proposed rules and regulations.

"As a result, the Department of Labor is announcing today the withdrawal of the proposed rule dealing with children under the age of 16 who work in agricultural vocations.

"The decision to withdraw this rule — including provisions to define the 'parental exemption' — was made in response to thousands of comments expressing concerns about the effect of the proposed rules on small family-owned farms. To be clear, this regulation will not be pursued for the duration of the Obama administration.

"Instead, the Departments of Labor and Agriculture will work with rural stakeholders — such as the American Farm Bureau Federation, the National Farmers Union, the Future Farmers of America, and 4-H — to develop an educational program to reduce accidents to young workers and promote safer agricultural working practices."
Farmers and politicians alike have applauded the decision.

Oh, wait... Now that the problem of the attack on family farms is over, maybe we should start thinking about the fact that the Obama administration is just plain anti-capitalism. The most recent attack came from the EPA, in the form of a bureaucrat trying to set an example. Did you hear about this story? What if it is true? Would a video of the EPA official saying how he'd crucify business operators change your mind?

That's right, I detected some skepticism regarding the Obama attack on free enterprise. But here you go, this is the proof that the transformation of America is not about making sure everyone has a fair chance to succeed. It seems that the real agenda is making sure everyone has a fair chance to have equal results regardless of their efforts.

Obama slow jams the news & the economy

Nothing like a little propaganda on late night television – that’s exactly what America got when Obama stopped by Jimmy Fallon’s program to participate in his ‘slow jam’ the news bit. Only, there was nothing really that funny, just Obama giving a speech and the host making it appear cool.

America doesn't need a cool president. We need a president that doesn't have to resort to brazenly using the late night show circuit in order to get things done, like improving our economy and cutting the size of the government.

So... I guess if the "preezy of the United steezy" wants to utilize his left-wing media minions for free propaganda, which seems a little sleazy, let's give him a little taste of some well deserved derision.

It isn't all that often that people try to take credit for such a pathetic performance in the last three-plus years of a one-term presidency. But this one-term president shows his arrogance in believing that his base is ignorant enough to want to vote for him again, just because Barack Obama is so cool.

Right back at you, President Obama.  Game on!

I saved the best for last. A week ago, I mentioned the story about Ted Nugent's run-in with the Secret Service regarding remarks during the NRA 2012 Annual Convention on a radio show. In fact, I even linked to the story, "Nugent Ousted From Fort Knox Concert Line-Up." In the story below, Nugent responds to the cancellation.

Ted Nugent says he's insulted by Army base concert cancellation after remarks about Obama
From Yahoo News (AP) ~ By Ryan Pearson, The Associated Press ~ Published Apr 27, 2012

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Ted Nugent said he was insulted by the cancellation of his planned concert at an Army post over his comments about President Obama.

CONSERVATIVE ROCK-STAR TED NUGENT
Commanders at the Fort Knox, Kentucky, post nixed Nugent's segment of a June concert after the rocker and conservative activist said at a recent National Rifle Association meeting that he would be "dead or in jail by this time next year" if Obama is re-elected.

Nugent told The Associated Press this week that his words were not intended as a threat against the president.

"To think that there's a bureaucrat in the United States Army that would consider the use or abuse of First Amendment rights in determining who is going to perform at an Army base is an insult and defiles the sacrifices of those heroes who fought for the U.S. Constitution, Bill of Rights," Nugent said.

WIFLI Briefing for Apr 24, 2012 - If I Wanted America to Fail

In this extremely important issue, you are about to become clearly aware of what we face in our near future should the enemies of freedom - GOLIATH - prevail. You will also learn that there are solutions, and there are many DAVIDs out there that are willing to take on that GOLIATH.

We remember Andrew Breitbart. He was not alone. Neither is Herman Cain. Neither are you or I.  There were many of us in the Tea Party that may have felt small on our own, but we soon realized that we weren't alone.  There was no reason to be afraid. We the People (DAVID) collectively gathered and helped to make things much more difficult for Obama to do by getting the GOP back in control of the House of Representatives in 2010. We at least slowed GOLIATH down a little.

It just happened that while watching "The Five" on Fox News on Monday (4/23/12), I happened to see a video that inspired me to get this issue published ASAP! And the video that caught my attention - If I Wanted America to Fail - is a true wake-up call.  We have a lot of work to do before November 6, 2012.

If I wanted America to fail, I would do nothing. However, I'll be happy to be somebody like George Bailey (DAVID) going up against the evil Mr. Potter (GOLIATH) like we saw in that tremendous classic film, "It's a Wonderful Life."

Watch the videos you will see below, and then decide if there is anything you and I can do.  I'm in complete agreement with what Herman Cain wrote in his column, "An army of Davids," especially that: "We the People must be an army of Davids to take our liberties back from Goliath."

What we must do was summarized exquisitely by Ralph Marston almost ten years ago!

No matter how much you push against the darkness it will not go anywhere. Yet the moment you shine your light, the darkness is no more. When you fight against your problems, all it usually accomplishes is to make them stronger and give them more validity. Instead, seek to transform those problems, those difficult situations, by virtue of your own positive values and efforts.

Rather than struggling against the situation, give the best you have to it. Rather than fighting darkness with more darkness, transform that darkness by letting your light shine.

— Ralph Marston, Light the darkness, Thursday, July 18, 2002
Quoting from Herman Cain's column once again, let's remember how We the People - the Army of DAVIDs - can light the darkness:
"We have more than one stone and a sling shot. We have the right and responsibility to vote, the power of the Internet and the power of the people. But we have to use that power wisely and collectively to stop the erosion of our liberties."
Seriously, I'm clinging to the hope that the videos that you'll see below will help you realize how close we could be right now to losing our liberty. I hope that thought terrifies you, as it should. And last, I hope that you will help to light the darkness in anyway that you can, even it is just by sharing this publication with your friends in the social media. I'm just sayin'...

An army of Davids
Exclusive: Herman Cain asks, 'Are we asleep, or just plain dumb and stupid?'
From WND Commentary ~ By Herman Cain ~ Published Apr 22, 2012

HERMAN CAIN
It’s tough being the underdog in any fight. But if a group of underdogs get together and work together, they can win. That’s the American people up against big government. We the People are fighting the political class.

The federal government has become too big, too bureaucratic and too controlling of our everyday lives, and it wants to control us even more every day, with every session of Congress. As a result, We the People are losing more and more of our liberties every day.

This administration is trying to tell us which cars to drive, which light bulbs to buy, what foods to eat, where not to take a vacation, how much health care we can have, what to believe, who to believe, how to live, how to spend our money, when to die, where to build a new plant for a business and what fairness ought to be – using our money!

Are we asleep, or just plain dumb and stupid?

Fairness is the liberty to make decisions about our lives and our money. But this administration is doing everything it can to take away our liberties with government mandates and income redistribution gimmicks like the Buffet Rule.

WIFLI Briefing for Apr 21, 2012 - Some call it the Transformation of America.

To replace "Daily" in the title, I borrowed the acronym WIFLI, which literally means "When I Feel Like It." This constitutes a 'fair use' of any such copyrighted material as provided for in Title 17 U.S.C. section 106A-117 of the U.S. Copyright Law.
As I was growing up, I only knew one thing: America is a free country!!  I was never made aware that freedom could be so easily stolen from us.  For as long as I was taught to respect our freedom by saying the Pledge of Allegiance, taking my hat off and placing it over my heart during the National Anthem, and when it was still okay to mention God and Christian values during school and government functions, I would never have thought about America being anything but free.

Things have become much different over the years.  The people we would think that have the highest moral standards, just to do their job properly, let us down in Cartagena, Columbia. And shortly after, people from the same agency want to question a man, a person widely known for his patriotism, for speaking his mind at an NRA convention. And yet, in the mean time, Attorney General Eric Holder shies away from looking into violent rhetoric from those that want nothing less than taking America down from the way we know it and love it.

Some call it the Transformation of America.

It has become my purpose in life to make sure the man that stands for the Transformation of America is not re-elected as President in November 2012. No, not on my watch.

To be sure, I do not have much weaponry laying around, let alone armor or a shield to defend myself with. Not that I would have a chance against the men in black (sounds better than "storm troopers"). And we have learned pretty recently that having lethal weapons that can be used defensively carries a lot of responsibility. I believe that Phil Elmore hit it on the head this week when he wrote, "The gun you need to protect your castle":

Keeping a gun in the home is a great benefit in terms of self-defense, but it is also a weighty responsibility. Treat it accordingly … and make your decisions armed with this information.
Not until I read Ralph Marston this Saturday morning did I realize that I even had a weapon:
Achievement is in you. Let it flow out into your world.

Your dream is beautiful. Let it compel you to bring it to life.

You are highly skilled at making things happen. So choose to take the best things you can imagine, and to make them real.

This day will come and go, whether you do anything with it or not. So decide right now to do every good thing you can imagine with it while it is here.

~ Ralph Marston, Achievement is in you, Saturday, April 21, 2012
My weapon is my dream of continuing freedom as I have known it. But I think that Ralph Marston also had it right when he states, "Don’t be ashamed that your dream is too big or too small or too quirky or too difficult to explain. Just get busy with that authentic dream, and find great delight and fulfillment in making it happen."

That's all I am doing here. I have nothing else to fight with but the information I am able to share with you, and my only prayer and hope is knowing I'm not alone! You can take it anyway you want, but at least you know it can't cause lethal wounds. Well, at least that is what Ted Nugent thought.

Oh, wait, let me paraphrase myself: "My dream is my only weapon, the truth is my only ammo." I'm just sayin'...

Three Secret Service Agents ‘Forced Out’ Amid Prostitution Investigation
From ABC World News ~ Via THEBLAZE ~ Published April 18, 2012

By PIERRE THOMAS (@PierreTABC) , JACK CLOHERTY (@jjclo) and JASON RYAN (@JasonRyanABC)

Secret Service agents are being forced out of their positions as officials investigate the alleged hiring of prostitutes and other questionable behavior during a presidential visit to Colombia.

"Although the Secret Service's investigation into allegations of misconduct by its employees in Cartagena, Colombia, is in its early stages, and is still ongoing, three of the individuals involved will separate or are in the process of separating from the agency," said Paul S. Morrissey, the assistant director of the U.S. Secret Service Office of Government and Public Affairs, in a written statement.

One supervisory employee was allowed to retire and another was "proposed for removal for cause," the statement said. In addition, a non-supervisory employee resigned.

The employee proposed for removal has been given notice and will be allowed to fight the move, the Secret Service said.

Eight other Secret Service employees remain on administrative leave with suspended security clearances.

Secret Service: 3 more resigning, scandal total now 6; Obama briefed by agency director
From Washington Post WORLD ~ Via WND ~ By Associated Press ~ Published: April 19 | Updated: Friday, April 20, 6:46 PM

WASHINGTON — Three more Secret Service officers resigned Friday in the expanding prostitution scandal that has brought scorching criticism of agents’ behavior in Colombia just before President Barack Obama’s visit for a summit meeting last week. Agency Director Mark Sullivan came to the White House late Friday to personally brief Obama in the Oval Office.

The Secret Service announced the new resignations, bringing to six the number of agency officers who have lost their jobs so far because of events at their hotel in Cartagena.

Senator CHUCK GRASSLEY (R-IA)
Also late Friday, Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley of Iowa urged a broader investigation, including checking hotel records for White House advance staff and communications personnel who were in Cartagena for the summit. In a letter to Sullivan and the inspector general at the Homeland Security Department, Grassley asked whether hotel records for the White House staffers had been pulled as part of the investigations.

Also in this column...

Former VP Candidate SARAH PALIN
On Chaney’s Facebook account, which was made inaccessible on Friday, Chaney joked about his work with former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin while he was protecting her in 2008. The AP published a photograph it took of Chaney working in Palin’s protective detail in October 2008 during a campaign rally in Carson, Calif.

“I was really checking her out, if you know what i mean?” Chaney wrote after a friend commented on the picture posted in January 2009 on Chaney’s Facebook account.

Speaking on Fox News late Thursday, Palin said the joke was on Chaney.

Well, check this out, buddy — you’re fired! Palin said. (Emphasis my own)

And speaking of the Secret Service, here they are again in another story which started getting legs just a few days ago... In the following column, there is quote that smacks of the liberals' double standards when it comes to devisive (and dangerous) speech:
Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman, a Florida congresswoman, called on the Romney campaign to denounce Nugent's remarks, which she called "despicable, deplorable and completely beyond the pale."
So, Debbie, if you don't approve of what Ted Nugent said, why don't you also come down on the leader of the Nation of Islam, Louis Farrakhan, or the New Black Panthers?

Secret Service 'Aware of' Nugent Remarks
From BIG HOLLYWOOD ~ By UPI ~ Published Apr 17, 2012

WASHINGTON, April 17 (UPI) --
The Secret Service said it will "follow up" on remarks by rocker Ted Nugent that he will be "dead or in jail" if U.S. President Barack Obama is re-elected.

TED NUGENT
The conservative rock guitarist and spokesman for the National Rifle Association -- in a video posted by the NRA on YouTube (see my comment about the NRA video below) -- said, "If Barack Obama becomes the president in November again, I will either be dead or in jail by this time next year."

"We are aware of it, and we'll conduct an appropriate follow up," the Secret Service said in a statement, New York magazine reported Tuesday.

Nugent, who has endorsed Mitt Romney for president, said administration officials including Vice President Joe Biden, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Attorney General Eric Holder are "criminals." He said the government has been "wiping its ass with the Constitution" and called on voters to "ride into that battlefield and chop (Democrats') heads off in November," CNN reported.

Beck Defends ‘Good Man’ Ted Nugent From Leftist Attacks, Asks Why Secret Service Doesn’t Investigate Farrakhan Instead
From THEBLAZE Stories ~ by Tiffany Gabbay ~ Posted on Apr 18, 2012 at 8:45pm

DEBBIE WASSERMAN SCHULZ
By now, Blaze readers are likely familiar with the controversy surrounding rock legend Ted Nugent, who spoke out candidly against the administration during an appearance at the recent NRA conference. In particular, DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz bore the brunt of Nugent’s scorn, but he had some choice words for the administration as well. Needless to say, his remarks went over like a lead zeppelin with leftists, and as a result, the longtime rocker is now being investigated by the Secret Service — the same agency whose members were recently dismissed for allegedly engaging the services of Cartagenian prostitutes.

Glenn Beck, noting the irony, dedicated a portion of his Wednesday evening broadcast to defending someone who he considers an American patriot, a man of faith, a responsible steward of the land and simply, an over all “good, decent man.”

GLENN BECK
If Nugent is on the Secret Service’s radar, Beck asked if the agency also plans to interrogate members of Occupy Wall Street, Louis Farrakhan and the New Black Panthers, all of whom have overtly called for physical violence. Yet, as Beck pointed out, while Hezbollah “gets cozy” with Julian Assange on Russia Today, Warren Buffett’s corruption intensifies, and GSA’s lavish clown-filled team building exercise comes under fire, it is somehow more important to probe Ted Nugent.

TED NUGENT
Rather, Beck suggested the president send someone to investigate his own Secret Service in the wake of its scandal rather than interrogate The Motor City Madman (as Nugent is dubbed) famed for crooning such melodies as “Wang Dang Sweet Poontang” and “Cat Scratch Fever.”

Obama's advancing communism
Exclusive: Erik Rush urges Americans to beat the drum about BHO's 'Marxist agenda'
From WND Commentary ~ By Erik Rush ~ Published Apr 11, 2012 at 7:34 PM

ERIK RUSH
For 100 years, communists believed that America was the only thing standing in the way of communism truly “succeeding” internationally. That’s a convenient if transparent bit of propaganda, but one which has resulted in leftists remaining dedicated to the objective of bringing America down for decades. American communists, being the pathological narcissists they are, have convinced themselves that they’ll do it the “right way” this time. Having dismantled America, what then could they not accomplish?

Upon his return from a week’s hiatus on the radio, commentator Glenn Beck showcased a piece of audio featuring members of the New Black Panther Party on a conference call. Although the renewed activity of this group was brought on by the Trayvon Martin shooting, millions of Americans are aware that this incident did not merit the hue and cry that came up from black activists, including the NBPP. What follows is why it nevertheless did result in such.

While the pretext of the New Black War Kittens’ conference call was, as usual, that of fighting racial oppression, they were very up front about their desire to destroy capitalism. The common denominator of Marxist objectives across the activist groups rearing their decidedly ugly heads at present is something Beck has been stressing – as well as the fact that the advancing Marxist agenda is being not-so-subtly choreographed from Barack Obama’s White House.

But this is about accepting Romney as the candidate to defeat Obama.  You all know that I was all for Herman Cain, and then Rick Santorum. Unfortunately, I lost my candidate Rick when he recently dropped out of the race. Bobby Eberle came to my rescue by writing his column, and I feel better.

Santorum Makes Right Move, Gives GOP Time to Unite
From GOPUSA The Loft ~ By Bobby Eberle ~ Strategic column deployed back on Apr 11, 2012 @ 7:13 am

RICK SANTORUM
Rick Santorum called it quits on Tuesday after having surprised the entire country with his presidential campaign. From the guy on the outer edge of the debate stage... the one struggling to get any air time -- to the candidate who picked up 11 primary/caucus wins, Santorum became the focal point for conservatives and the alternative to Mitt Romney. However, the writing was on the wall for a number of reasons, and Santorum picked just the right time to step aside and help bring the GOP together.

And a little later, Bobby Eberle goes on to say:

Too bad that can't be said about Newt Gingrich and Ron Paul. As noted in the Fox News story, the two have "vowed to stay in the race." Come on, folks! Yes, in order to run for president, one probably has a big ego, but enough is enough. Spending money that could better be used to fight Barack Obama is just stupid.

Now is the time to come together and focus on the real target: Obama and his left wing agenda. We have the chance to right the course. It's time to do it.

WIFLI Briefing for Apr 16, 2012 - A Cashless Society May Be Closer Than Most People Would Ever Dare To Imagine

SPECIAL EDITION:

A Cashless Society May Be Closer Than Most People Would Ever Dare To Imagine

Just as I was getting the latest Time 2 Escape WIFLI Briefing ready to post on April 10,
Rick Santorum announced the end of his campaign. Since then, it was a pretty slow news week. So, I dared to do something a little different in this issue.

The subject matter for this WIFLI came to my attention during the "show prep" for my last edition. An email from one of the sources I subscribe to, Before It's News, alerted me to the lead story in this post.  My original thinking was to include that article in the "OUTSIDE of the BOX" section of the WIFLI Briefing I was currently working on.  But before I knew it, I found even more related material that I wanted to include, as you will see below.  The WIFLI Briefing for Apr 10, 2012 was already long enough, and so I decided to dedicate this briefing exclusively to the cashless society issue, which was actually reported on by mainstream news venues.

Thanks to author David Wolman, most of the material provided in this briefing was published in the last several weeks. His book, "The End of Money," provided several mainstream news sources with up-to-date information about the coming demise of currency and coins that became feature stories on their networks. This was an anomaly, because the subject of "cashless society" seemed to be on the fringes that you would only see in the New Media (alternative news sources), mostly because of the fact that it had been tied to the end times prophecies professed by evangelical ministries.

It seems that has now all changed. When you see the following stories, you may get chills down your spine - for one reason or another. As you will read and see in the stories and videos I have provided in this special edition, there are both advantages and possible hazards that could result from the end of what we consider as "cash" - currency and coins.

For the cheerleaders of a cashless society - banks and governments - one of the "advantages" they espouse is:

Cash is favored by criminals because it does not leave a paper trail. Eliminating cash would make it much more difficult for drug dealers, prostitutes and other criminals to do business.
That sounds so obvious, doesn't it? That sounds like a plausible argument for the elimination of cash. However, the fact is, the criminal elements in society will move to other crimes that don't involve the necessary use of cash for illegal transactions, or the need for armed robberies. Criminal activities are now moving toward cyber-crime, i.e. identity theft and internet scams. Kent Lawson wrote a column on April 9, 2012, called "Why Internet Crime Actually Does Pay." In the article, Kent reports that such crimes as bank robbery have a high risk for the criminals, being that nearly 25% of the bank robbers are caught, convicted, and spend hard time in prison. And how about the cyber criminals? Read this:
In 2011, the FBI reported that 300,000 identity theft victims lost a combined $1.1 billion to Internet criminals. That’s an average of about $3,666 per victim, which is about half the rate the average bank robber makes per robbery.

But here’s the important detail: the typical Internet criminal commits literally thousands of these crimes and almost never gets caught. And those who do get caught hardly spend any time in jail.
That kind of blows a hole in the theory that a cashless society will suffer less from crime. The crime stats (as reported by Roger Grimes) show many more victims with cyber crimes and much less risk for the perpetrators.

There is a reason for many people to be hesitant or even very nervous when it comes to the end of cash. The concern is well deserved when it comes down to why governments would want to demonize the use of cash:

Most of all, a cashless society would give governments more control. Governments would be able to track virtually all transactions and would also be able to monitor tax compliance much more closely.
Think about it: The days of cheating on your taxes by understating your income in a cashless society would be gone forever. (Please note: Most of you that will file your taxes tomorrow wouldn't consider doing that anyway, as you are probably aware of how the U.S. federal government finally took down the notorious gangster Al Capone - which was accomplished long BEFORE the use of electronic transactions!)

But other than keeping tax cheating to a minimum, could there be something more insidious about the kind of control the government could have with a cashless economy? Do you think that Big Brother could end up with a lot more control over our lives? Could it mean less freedom for us? Those are questions that come to my mind and part of the reason why I am posting this special edition to the Time 2 Escape WIFLI Briefing.

As you probably realize by now, and for sure by the time you are done examining this post, the use of cash will eventually be a thing of the past. Society is steadily moving in that direction, and has been for years. However, it does appear as though the trend is picking up speed, and it IS coming closer than most people realize. It could be a very short period of time now, at least in the developed parts of the world. And if you are against eliminating cash, I have some bad news for you: I do not believe there is anything you can do about it! Sure, there will be "extremist" cyber terrorists out there that may try to attack the global banking and electronic money systems, but they won't succeed in the end. Governments and the banking industry are vastly stepping up the cyber security that is necessary to prevent such attacks. For the individual, the average citizen, about the only thing we can do is to try to keep our identities protected from cyber theft to the best of our abilities.

In the mean time, for what it's worth, is that for many people, the belief that a cashless society is a necessary event in the End Time prophecies. Yes, of course, I had that in mind when preparing this publication. At the end of this edition is a youtube video of an Irvin Baxter discussion on this topic. It will give you an added perspective to consider when taking in this WIFLI Briefing. It gave me the motivation and a purpose to publish this WIFLI Briefing! I'm just sayin'...

A Cashless Society May Be Closer Than Most People Would Ever Dare To Imagine
From BEFORE IT'S NEWS ~ Mar 29, 2012 6:37

Most people think of a cashless society as something that is way off in the distant future. Unfortunately, that is simply not the case. The truth is that a cashless society is much closer than most people would ever dare to imagine. To a large degree, the transition to a cashless society is being done voluntarily. Today, only 7 percent of all transactions in the United States are done with cash, and most of those transactions involve very small amounts of money. Just think about it for a moment. Where do you still use cash these days? If you buy a burger or if you purchase something at a flea market you will still use cash, but for any mid-size or large transaction the vast majority of people out there will use another form of payment. Our financial system is dramatically changing, and cash is rapidly becoming a thing of the past. We live in a digital world, and national governments and big banks are both encouraging the move away from paper currency and coins. But what would a cashless society mean for our future? Are there any dangers to such a system?

Those are very important questions, but most of the time both sides of the issue are not presented in a balanced way in the mainstream media. Instead, most mainstream news articles tend to trash cash and talk about how wonderful digital currency is.

For example, a recent CBS News article declared that soon we may not need "that raggedy dollar bill" any longer and that the "greenback may soon be a goner"....

Author envisions a cash-free world in years to come
From CTV NEWS ~ CTVNews.ca Staff ~ Mar 22, 2012, 7:04 PM ET

What would life be like without money?

In his new book, "The End of Money," author David Wolman tackles that intriguing question for 21st-century citizens.
Author DAVID WOLMAN

Wolman was able to answer that question after traveling the world and spending one year avoiding the use of bills and coins in his day-to-day life.

"It really wasn't that hard, up until those handful of occasions when it was totally impossible," Wolman said on Thursday on CTV's Canada AM.

From farmers' markets to shoe shine stalls, Wolman came across environments where only cash would seal a deal, even in today's age of smartphones and online technologies.

Even paying his babysitter became awkward.

"I tried to convince her dad to open a PayPal account, but he said no," Wolman said as he spoke via satellite from Portland, Oregon.

Incidents such as these often mystified Wolman, who had become "outraged" in recent years by the high costs attached to producing coins in the United States.

"A few years ago, I was reading about the lopsided economics of producing coinage, especially pennies and nickels," said Wolman.

"Right now, here in the States it costs more than the value stamped on these things," he said.

That imbalance inspired the contributing editor to "Wired" to write a tongue-and-cheek article for the American publication about living in a world without money.

"The response was thundering," said Wolman.

In the book that followed, Wolman presents an entertaining history of money across the ages.

Are We Moving Towards a Cashless Society?

Video provided by TheAlyonaShow ~ Mar 14, 2012

Have you ever wondered if one day, cold, hard cash, will simply cease to exist? As more transactions are carried out via credit, online or on your smart phone, paper money and coins have become an inconvenience. David Wolman, author of the "The End of Money" went one year without using cash, with a few exceptions; he joins the show to discuss.

Why cash is losing its currency
From CBSNews Sunday ~ Mar 25, 2012 @ 9:24 AM

For generations now, storekeepers have been making change by taking bills and coins out of the cash register drawer. Now many experts say changing technology is nickel-and-diming old-fashioned cash out of existence. So is cash a relic of a bygone era? Our Cover Story is reported by Lee Cowan:

It's what the wallet was invented for, to carry cash. After all, there was a time when we needed cash everywhere we went, from filling stations to pay phones. Even the tooth fairy dealt only in cash.

But money isn't just physical anymore. It's not only the pennies in your piggy bank, or that raggedy dollar bill.

Money is also digital - it's zeros and ones stored in a computer, prompting some economists to predict the old-fashioned greenback may soon be a goner.

"There will be a time - I don't know when, I can't give you a date - when physical money is just going to cease to exist," said economist Robert Reich.

Economists like Reich say the demise of cash has been happening ever since our financial fortunes could first be told by a piece of plastic with a magnetic strip.

That was half a century ago - and now? "95 percent of the transactions in America, or more, have nothing to do with physical pieces of paper or coins," Reich said.

Think about it. Parking meters, taxis, tolls, even Girl Scout cookies don't require cash anymore, all proof (argue some) that cash's days are numbered.

"Everyone thinks cash is so simple and so easy and so fast and so secure. It's NONE of those things," said author David Wolman. In his new book, "The End of Money," he argues the biggest knock against cash is that it's costly.

"It's really expensive to move it, store it, secure it, inspect it, shred it, redesign it, re-supply it, and round and round we go!" Wolman said.

It already costs the U.S. government almost TWICE as much to make a penny and a nickel, than they're actually WORTH.

But that's only one cost. Wolman says cash is also the currency of crime - drug deals, bribes, and bank robberies.

And there's something else: It's not particularly clean.

"I'm right there with you," Wolman agreed. "It's pretty gross!
