WIFLI Briefing for May 31, 2012 ~ Vetting the transmogrifying Barry

First of all, I want to thank Mychal Massie for exposing me to a word I was not aware of prior to his column (which you can access from the text and link that I provide later on):
Transmogrifying:
... to change in appearance or form, especially strangely or grotesquely; transform.
Yes, it's true. The President has transformed, in a transmogrifying manner. He has gone from an exalted intellectual and prolific public speaker to ... um, somebody that should have been vetted and thoroughly investigated for a fraud that makes Enron's scheme seem lame. His job performance hasn't quite reached the glory that Obama minions in the establishment media claimed that we would enjoy.

No, it didn't quite work out that way, as you will see in the video below.

UNBELIEVABLE OBAMA GAFFES, Mistakes, Lies, and Confusion

Video provided by ensignbay on Sep 27, 2009

Please pardon me for a moment while I bait radical lefties with a quote from Rush Limbaugh:

And that's what liberalism is.

It all stems from a mind-set of intolerance.

"Don't you criticize Obama! That's criminal! You can't criticize a sitting president! That's sedition; you can't do it."

~ Rush Limbaugh, in a transcript from May 21, 2012
My greatest fear is that Mitt Romney will steer completely away from any attack on Barack Hussein Obama, and lose the election. I think we went through that 4 years ago when John McCain did the same thing. So here we are, with a few of the Conservative syndicated columnists, as well as citizen journalists, once again trying to do the job that the GOP campaign should be doing - if they really wanted to win this time around.

To be completely honest, I'm not at all comfortable with the Romney campaign leaving it to the Conservative side of the new media on the web to do the "dirty work" of vetting the sitting President.

The fact is, if Obama wins another term in office, I'm concerned about the deployment of drones in 63 sites in America. But meanwhile, Gov. Romney, with all of the money available for his campaign, could easily win the election, but not if he is afraid to criticize the President.

That bothers me, because Hunter Rogers wasn't afraid to ask questions and take on a teacher who is an avid Obama supporter, trying to spew even more propaganda solely for the purpose of deterring any kind of truth being told when it comes to vetting the transmogrifying President. Does Romney's avoidance of telling the truth about Obama display fear and/or weakness, or just some of the same old GOP indulgence in attempting not to look mean? Or both?

In quite a few of my previous posts, I've expressed the extreme danger of an attempt by the government - or any other entity, like the Obama supporters (minions) - trying to silence our dissent. The bottom line is that the government now has the power to do so. And when the liberal mainstream media is in the bag for Obama, who is to say that it would ever come to light should any of the Conservative writers and citizen journalists just happen to disappear?

The big risk that those of us that speak up are now facing is that the current administration will stay in power, and there will never again be an opportunity to utilize the 1st Amendment, the part of the Constitution that would be protecting Hunter Rogers, when exposing the truth about the man that currently occupies the Oval Room (between cigarette breaks). The danger to be aware of, patriots, is that the intolerance that Rush spoke of will eventually go further than MSNBC diatribes about the evil dissenters (Conservatives).

So, if it costs me my life and/or liberty to be part of the vetting of the sitting President, I'll at least know that I may have been braver than the presumptive Republican candidate. I'm just sayin'...

Welcome to this edition of Time 2 Escape WIFLI Briefing!

What is WIFLI?
You may be wondering what the acronym "WIFLI" means. I started out by calling these issues the Time 2 Escape Daily, but that didn't work out very well. I quickly learned that putting these issues together on a daily basis was a task I was unable to accomplish. To replace "Daily" in the title, I borrowed the acronym WIFLI, which literally means "When I Feel Like It." Putting together a post on this blog WIFLI works much better for my schedule, and for the higher quality of each issue that is eventually published!

I'm very sad to say that, unfortunately, I haven't yet made it on the SPLC list of the 30 radical right extremists to watch. My feelings are hurt, but I'll keep trying.

Proud extremist in defense of liberty

JOSEPH FARAH
When an extremist group like the Southern Poverty Law Center labels you one of the top 30 most dangerous radicals in America, you must be doing something right.

That’s the way I look at it.

If I didn’t make the list, my feelings would be hurt.

But what is it that makes me such a dangerous, right-wing leader to Morris Dees and company?

Do you know what my political views are?

They are a mirror reflection of those of America’s Founding Fathers.

That’s how far we’ve come in America in the last 223 years since our Constitution was ratified and George Washington was sworn in as our first president. Today, the values of James Madison, Thomas Jefferson, John Adams and the rest of those who sacrificed their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor to birth liberty in the New World are considered “dangerous,” “radical,” “right-wing,” “extremist” – at least by the standards of SPLC Inc.

Isn’t that amazing?

Rehash Obama's past? You bet we should!
Exclusive: Erik Rush is hopeful that educating Americans will yield opposition to prez
From WND Commentary ~ By Erik Rush ~ Published May 23rd, 2012

ERIK RUSH
A few days ago, news junkies learned of a story [see video below] that has since picked up momentum, and whose accompanying video segment has gone viral online. This involves a North Carolina high school student named Hunter Rogers, who was berated by his teacher after he questioned her on the relevance of President Obama’s past versus that of presumptive GOP nominee Mitt Romney. The teacher went medieval, alternately belittling and threatening Rogers while spewing inane propaganda and inaccuracies in a classic shrill, histrionic fit.

Whether this teacher is intellectually challenged, or was having some sort of emotional episode, the question of whether or not she ought to retain her teaching credentials should be taken seriously, since instructors like her are a significant part of the reason for social unconsciousness on the part of Americans in general. If you’ve not had the opportunity to listen to this exchange, you’re really missing out, because it exemplifies not only the abysmal level of competence on the part of some of our educators, but the irrational allegiance some Obama supporters have to him.

As the reader may have noticed, elements of the press have picked up on news stories and commentary relating to President Obama’s myriad radical associations over the years, the fact that these were overlooked (to put it extremely mildly) during the 2008 campaign, and that candidate Obama was never properly vetted.

Some believe that this pursuit is folly, not only from the vantage point of being old news, but reasoning that if it didn’t gain any traction the first time around, it is unlikely to do so now. Then, there is the inevitability that the left will accuse anyone so doing of beating a dead horse out of antipathy for the president, racism and things of this nature.

Leaving aside the double standard that most certainly exists with regard to everyone but Obama being fair game for public scrutiny, there are a few reasons I disagree with these assessments. I believe that there is potentially a great deal to be gained by rehashing Obama’s history and, given the stakes, every reason to include it in our proverbial arsenal.

[Please note that there is some explicitly offensive language in this video. I wish I could apologize for the embarrassing speech, but I can't.  You know, the use of profanity could never happen in a public school. No teacher could keep his or her job, and we know the offending student would be immediately expelled...  WaitReally?  Okay, well, that was how it was when I was in school.

To save you a little time, I found that the really juicy rhetoric begins at about 6:00 into the video.]

The Intolerance of Liberalism
From RushLimbaugh.com Archives ~ Rush Limbaugh transcript ~ Published May 21, 2012

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: I'm sitting here thinking more about the ideology of intolerance, the classic liberal. That intolerant teacher in North Carolina was a bully, telling her students that it was criminal to criticize Obama. You know, when you get right down to it, maybe one of the best ways to explain liberalism to the uninitiated is to simply say that it is intolerant. It's a philosophy of "no." It's a philosophy of domination and "no," and it's not at all what people think it is.

It's not open-mindedness. It's not tolerance. It's not good intentions. It's not sweetness and light and love and all that. It's a philosophy of "no." It is intolerant. Socialism, fascism, communism, all forms of liberalism dictate behavior. You must conform. Individuals? Private businesses? You must conform to what they say. And if you don't they'll pass laws and regulations that force you to. And in order to have uniformity, there must be an enforcement mechanism, because people are not the same.

People don't want the same things. They don't believe the same things. But if you are going to have uniformity -- which is what liberalism wants, 'cause that's equality to them: everybody being the same. Outcomes especially. Being the same. Nobody richer than anybody else. If you are to have that, you must have an enforcement mechanism that shuts down what? Creativity, choice, and innovation. You have to shut down all the things that differentiate people.

And in a free society, the things that differentiate people are creativity, choice, and innovation. And that has to be shut down. That is why, folks, an ever-expanding government is job one for liberals. Whatever expands government, whatever makes it bigger: Global warming, feminism, amnesty for illegals, whatever. Whatever needs more regulation, whatever needs more control, is sought "for the common good" and uniformity.

Why these are the last days
Exclusive: Mychal Massie points to media, education, government, rejection of God
From WND Commentary ~ By Mychal Massie ~ Published May 21, 2012

MYCHAL MASSIE
Looking forward based on the zeitgeist of today, there is no small amount of oratorical and ecclesiastical commentary, but I will still offer my thoughts pursuant to same.

My first thought is that those blacks crying that “they can’t get a break because of the color of their skin, they ain’t got no job, and the white man’s holding blacks down,” should do the following: Shut up, stop making excuses, remove the racial blinders, and take a good look around them. As long as Fox News sanctions the raw racism of the Marxist-negress Jehmu Greene and gives credibility to the Sharptons and Jacksons – black people have no leg to stand on when it comes to the oft-voiced mantra “white racism.”

My second thought – no one population group enjoys a more transpicuous double standard of overt racism than is permitted blacks. Black racism is endorsed by ignoring and denying it; malevolent anti-social behavior is encouraged vis-a-vis identifying same as the resultant latent effect of white oppression, and self-segregation is celebrated.

Specific to those points, the cultural divide could be transmogrified into a colorblind and inclusive America, but a rabid Marxist-negress like Jehmu Greene doesn’t want that. Emblematic of her kind (think the Obamas and the Alinskyites), they need victims in order for them to brand others as oppressors – which in turn allows them to foment cries of injustice, allowing them to define and determine the remedy to end oppression. For those like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton, it enables them to live lifestyles that 99 percent of blacks cannot begin to imagine. For Fox News, it allows them to subvert and destabilize any hopes of a quick ending of racial animus and disharmony any time soon.

For all of the tax dollars and foolish theorization of how to teach children, public schools are best described as early breeding grounds for future radicals, the home of teachers who will go on strike at a moment’s notice, but the majority of whom cannot teach their way out of a one-student class. [See the video I included above, "Teacher yells at student..." Based on the students graduating from most public schools today, it will be a very long time before American students enjoy the lofty positions of academic excellence those of my generation enjoyed – unless, of course, one counts the growing intrusion of homosexuality, child predators and teacher-student sex as academic achievement.

As a citizen journalist who is only trying to inform my fellow Americans who will bother to vote on November 6, 2012, I made the decision to include this column by Robert Ringer. It is my hope that teachers like the one in the classroom trying to indoctrinate the supposed mush-minded students (see the video above), who tried to tell Hunter Rogers that he is not allowed to criticize the President (that law, of course, only applies to Republicans), will go apoplectic when they read this. That's my goal, along with getting on that SPLC list of radical right-wing extremists.

Obama and Stalin: How they're alike
Exclusive: Robert Ringer sees both leaders as soulless beneficiaries of propaganda
From WND Commentaries ~ By Robert Ringer ~ Published May 30, 2012

ROBERT RINGER
There have been scores of books that have attempted to pull the media mask off of Barack Obama and reveal the naked communist that resides within him. Some, like Dinesh D’Souza’s “The Roots of Obama’s Rage” and Stanley Kurtz’s “Radical-in-Chief,” have been especially revealing.

None of these works, however, has come as close to entrapping the purveyor of the biggest political scam in U.S. history as Edward Klein’s new book, “The Amateur.” I have to admit I was surprised when I saw that the book had risen to No. 1 on the New York Times best-seller list, even though the far-left media have virtually ignored it.

But give credit where credit is due. The New York Times, as it has done throughout its long history, once again placed the integrity of its industry-standard best-seller list above its ideological beliefs.

Though they are trying hard not to acknowledge the existence of Klein’s book, the left-wing media by now must be quietly apoplectic – especially when reading about Klein’s tell-all, three-hour interview with Jeremiah Wright. Among other revelations, Wright told Klein he was offered $150,000 by an Obama surrogate to keep his mouth shut during Obama’s run for president.

Tens of millions of us unenlightened folks realized early on that the Barack Obama the media had invented was a total fraud. To borrow Obama’s own words from his book “Dreams from My Father,” he was, from his first day in public office, “a spy behind enemy lines.”

Though he was actually referring to his time in corporate America when he wrote those words, his background, as well as his words and actions since becoming president, make it clear that Obama considers the real enemy to be the United States of America. Which means that the day he was sworn into office (you know, when he promised to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States), he became the enemy from within who immediately had access to every top-secret U.S. document.

WIFLI Briefing for May 27, 2012 - The "Flavor of Freedom"

UPDATE May 28, 2012:
I am dedicating the this WIFLI Briefing, "The 'Flavor of Freedom'," to possibly the bravest in the land of the brave and home of the free.

UPDATE May 30, 2012:
I am extremely honored and humbled by the inclusion of this column in an article written on The Christian Post by Alex Murashko on May 28, 2012, "Survey: Nearly Half of Americans Lost Relative or Friend to War".

"Those who expect to reap the benefits of freedom, must, like men, undergo the fatigue of supporting it." ~ Thomas Paine
I don't think that anyone could have said it any better. Fighting for our freedom takes a major toll on us. The flavor of freedom can be very bitter.

We honor, on Memorial Day, those that gave their lives in the defense of this country, and the freedom that it stands for. While those that gave their all are our heroes, I have this feeling that it is the loved ones of our fallen that are our true heroes, the ones that have to endure the sacrifice of one of their own. Our children, parents, grandparents, or friends, it is not easy to accept the loss when it happens.

No, the flavor of freedom can be very difficult to swallow. While there are many of us that have never had to taste the feeling of that loss, it is important to know that we can almost comprehend the sorrow.

As an American who has served in the military, there is that feeling within me that I must continue to do what ever I can to keep the cause of freedom alive. I believe that I must do something today to help with the healing process for those that have lost somebody that was defending our liberty. It is my duty to keep the families and friends of those who gave it all for our freedom in my constant thoughts  and prayers. They are the ones that have to go on with life without a loved one in their immediate sight... for the time being.

You must be warned that what you will read and see in this post could possibly cause uncontrollable weeping. I apologize for the pain that you may encounter, but darn, the flavor of freedom isn't always that tasty. It's my hope that this assignment was a reminder that there are many that will endure the pain of a loss and we must help them endure a hole in their hearts, the best we can. I'm just sayin'...

Fallen heroes and the 'flavor of freedom'
See powerful wartime story of loss and survivors' incredible journey to healing
From WND ~ By Chelsea Schilling ~ Published May 26, 2012

CHELSEA SCHILLING
Meet Sgt. James McIlvaine of Olney, Md. – a handsome 26-year-old U.S. Marine, devoted husband, loving father of two young children and dedicated man anyone would want the privilege of calling a friend.

McIlvaine, known for having a splendid sense of humor that could make a room full of people roar with laughter, served in the U.S. military for nearly eight years – including combat missions in Afghanistan and Iraq.

A natural leader, he knew a thing or two about loyalty, love of his country, service and sacrifice.

Marine Sgt. James McIlvaine
In fact, he sacrificed his own life for your freedom.

On April 30, 2009, his five-man explosive ordnance disposal team retrieved a roadside bomb beside an Iraqi police station in Al Anbar province, Iraq. A robot was used to disarm the device, but when the bomb was being transported to a safe location, it exploded without warning.

The blast killed Sgt. McIlvaine instantly.

Several Iraqi policemen and two other team members were killed as well: Staff Sgt. Tony Wojciechowski and Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Tyler Trahan.

Acting quickly, Staff Sgt. Dustin Velzeboer risked his own life to save the remaining crew as a trailer filled with explosives caught fire after the initial blast. The wounded Marine jumped into the truck and drove it away as quickly as possible. As soon as he was far enough away, Velzeboer ran for his life. A large explosion decimated the vehicle, but everyone, including Velzeboer, was shielded from the blast. The Marine Corps awarded Velzeboer a Bronze Star with “V” device for his courage that day in Iraq.

But the deaths of those Marines filled their families and friends with unbearable heartache practically unimaginable by those who haven’t experienced such profound loss.

Sgt. McIlvaine left behind his wife, Cheryl, and children, Michael and Alexa, who were just 7 and 3 at the time of their father’s death.

WIFLI Briefing for May 20, 2012 - Going Public!

Yes, Friday's big news in the mainstream media is Facebook's initial public offering (IPO). Yes, it's finally happening, Facebook has gone public. However, that isn't what I needed to direct your attention to today. I'm not going to promote gambling here!  No, uh-uh!

In fact, I'm going to place a warning sign along the way like the ones that warn drivers of an upcoming construction site, traffic lanes will be reduced, and that caution and a much slower speed need to be adhered to. With this IPO, the last thing you want to do is get stuck in a bubble that could burst long before you have a chance to dump your stock in Facebook. Here's a video that makes my point:

Video provided by WSJDigitalNetwork on May 3, 2012

That is why I'm doing something so weird today. This might just shock you to see me posting a blog so soon after the last post. That is almost as rare as seeing the Chicago Cubs win more than two games in a row!

There were at least two other stories that caught my attention Friday. They both had to do with "going public." I had to take advantage of the situation, just so I could sneak in these stories on a Sunday, when nobody is watching. They call that, "UNDER the RADAR," I think.

Well, there you go. What else do we do with stories that deal with President George W. Bush's rare public commentary and the issue of "Obama's eligibility" appearing on Breitbart.com?

That's a good question, and I think I can give you the correct answer: Read the stories carefully, and don't be afraid to ask some questions. I don't know about you, but it is getting where what you read on the internet needs thorough investigation before accepting it 100% - i.e., lock, stock and barrel.

It doesn't matter if what you read in the mainstream media, or anywhere else, is 75% true or a total lie. Any kind of omission of facts is no better than a total fabrication. When you are not provided with all of the pieces of a puzzle, you should be warned; you are probably being manipulated, just so that you don't see the big picture.

Being that the content in this WIFLI Briefing is relatively very limited, you should have plenty of time to soak in the information, seek verification, and formulate your opinions. But remember, it's probably not a good idea to be "Going Public" with your opinions or news stories until you have ALL of facts to back you up.

Don't even write off the "birther" issue; not just yet. You never know when a news source, even if it's Breitbart.com and not one of the "mainstream outlets," exposes a new twist in the story.

The moral of the story is that not everything that "goes public" should be accepted as the complete, truthful story. But, at the very least, try to fit in one more puzzle piece in order to get the big picture.

Update, May 25, 2012:

It kind of makes my point, doesn't it?

I'm very impressed by the ideals that our former President endorsed in this column. But do I believe it is the reality that we face now? No, I don't. I am afraid that regardless of the tyrant, and the associated oppression of Arabs in those Middle East Muslim countries, the lack of freedom will still greet a large proportion of the population in those societies.

When the former President states that, "We only get to choose what side we are on," he was correct. However, are any of the alternative choices any better than what exists now? How are we going to determine which side to choose when neither side actually allows freedom?

George W. Bush: The Arab Spring and American Ideals
We do not get to choose if a freedom revolution should begin or end in the Middle East or elsewhere. We only get to choose what side we are on.
From The Wall Street Journal OPINION ~ By George W. Bush ~ Posted May 17, 2012, 6:56 p.m. ET

These are extraordinary times in the history of freedom. In the Arab Spring, we have seen the broadest challenge to authoritarian rule since the collapse of Soviet communism. The idea that Arab peoples are somehow content with oppression has been discredited forever.

Yet we have also seen instability, uncertainty and the revenge of brutal rulers. The collapse of an old order can unleash resentments and power struggles that a new order is not yet prepared to handle.

Some in both parties in Washington look at the risks inherent in democratic change—particularly in the Middle East and North Africa—and find the dangers too great. America, they argue, should be content with supporting the flawed leaders they know in the name of stability.

But in the long run, this foreign policy approach is not realistic. It is not within the power of America to indefinitely preserve the old order, which is inherently unstable. Oppressive governments distrust the diffusion of choice and power, choking off the best source of national prosperity and success.

This is the inbuilt crisis of tyranny. It fears and fights the very human attributes that make a nation great: creativity, enterprise and responsibility. Dictators can maintain power for a time by feeding resentments toward enemies—internal or external, real or imagined. But eventually, in societies of scarcity and mediocrity, their failure becomes evident.

A valid complaint has been made in the last few years by the Conservative side of politics is that Barack Hussein Obama was not properly vetted by those in the mainstream media prior to the 2008 election. While there were a few out there like Joseph Farah and Jerome Corsi at WND.com that brought up the birth certificate and Constitutional eligibility, many of the most Conservative talk-radio show hosts, and Fox News Channel, wouldn't touch it.

Following a story put out on Breitbart.com which you can see below, additional commentary and thought became part of some of the most popular radio shows. Both Glenn Beck and Joe Pagliarulo (on The Weekend), dedicated a major portion of their shows to discuss the Breitbart.com story.

Here is the story about the story: What Breitbart.com went public with is enough to make a lot of people become a little more curious about this situation. I know for a fact that when I posted stories in the past that i found on WorldNetDaily, now known as WND.com, the story got a lot of heat from the critics in the mainstream media as well as from the Conservative pundits.

At some point, the historians will be forced to deal with these events that may someday be known as "Birthergate." And I hope the historians will still be able to view and share the video you will see below:

The Vetting - Exclusive - Obama's Literary Agent in 1991 Booklet: 'Born in Kenya and raised in Indonesia and Hawaii'
From Breitbart.com ~ By Joel B. Pollak ~ Published May 18, 2012

Note from Senior Management [at Breitbart.com]:

ANDREW BREITBART
Andrew Breitbart was never a "Birther," and Breitbart News is a site that has never advocated the narrative of "Birtherism." In fact, Andrew believed, as we do, that President Barack Obama was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, on August 4, 1961.

Yet Andrew also believed that the complicit mainstream media had refused to examine President Obama's ideological past, or the carefully crafted persona he and his advisers had constructed for him.

It is for that reason that we launched "The Vetting," an ongoing series in which we explore the ideological background of President Obama (and other presidential candidates)--not to re-litigate 2008, but because ideas and actions have consequences.

It is also in that spirit that we discovered, and now present, the booklet described below--one that includes a marketing pitch for a forthcoming book by a then-young, otherwise unknown former president of the Harvard Law Review.

It is evidence--not of the President's foreign origin, but that Barack Obama's public persona has perhaps been presented differently at different times.

***

Breitbart News has obtained a promotional booklet produced in 1991 by Barack Obama's then-literary agency, Acton & Dystel, which touts Obama as "born in Kenya and raised in Indonesia and Hawaii."

WIFLI Briefing for May 17, 2012 - Time For a Wake-up Call

Economist Milton Friedman had it right: “So that the record of history is absolutely crystal clear, that there is no alternative way, so far discovered, of improving the lot of the ordinary people that can hold a candle to the productive activities that are unleashed by a free enterprise system.”

More government hasn’t been, isn’t and won’t ever be the answer. That’s California dreamin’.

~ Ted Nugent, "California nightmare" ~ May 15, 2012
There's an old urban legend (myth) out there that says that if you dream that you are in a free-fall, if you don't wake up in time before you reach the end of the free-fall, you won't wake up alive. If the myth was reality, it means that so far, in those kinds of dreams, I've been pretty lucky to have some type of wake-up call to get out that nightmare.

Well, America, you're getting the wake up call, but apparently it isn't doing the job like pouring a bucket-full of ice water over you or slapping you in the face. While it's right in front of you, maybe it's that sleep hasn't quite left you yet. Or maybe... maybe, Robert Ringer's recent commentary about the anesthesia injected into America's soul shouldn't be overlooked.

Count on it, sporting events, dumbed-down TV shows, tabloids — anything that’s anesthetizing — will continue to be embraced by millions of Americans, no matter how much worse the economy gets. And those same Americans will never even notice that they’re sitting in a large pot of water that is slowly reaching the boiling point.
If it isn't possible for the American people to see the failures of Socialism and Communism by now, there must be something blocking the view. Or could it be something that just clouds the view, like the pain-killing medication taken in a period of post-surgery misery?

Whether we're sitting in the "large pot of water that is slowly reaching the boiling point," or reaching the final moment of the free-fall in a nightmare, it's time to wake up and smell the coffee. And if that doesn't work, how about a really cold shower?

Allow me to go out on a limb for a moment: There are a few stories that I encounter too often that remind me that the freedom of speech could be a thing of the past. In this post, I include several stories I came across in the last week.  Far too often, though, is the fact that we can be silenced in so many various ways, Saul Alinsky-style.

And yet, just how many people will not ever get the point? How many people, many who love this country, will sleep through what we are now facing?

Sorry, but it's true. When you wake up and see where America is headed, you may become a bit sleep-deprived. That may explain the bad day I had yesterday when I could not sleep. I may have been afraid that I would hit the "bottom" while I was in that free-fall nightmare.  I needed to have the confidence that I'd get that wake-up call in time.

Romney Donor Finds Out What it Means to Be on President Obama‘s ’Enemies List’
From The BLAZE ~ By Becket Adams ~ Published on May 11, 2012 at 10:00pm

Former Governor Mitt Romney and President Barack Hussein Obama
Team Obama “named and shamed” eight private citizens for donating to former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney, The Blaze reported two weeks ago.

Frank VanderSloot, one of the eight men detailed by the president’s “Truth Team,” is discovering what it means to be on a president’s “enemies list.”

Frank VanderSloot
VanderSloot has run a wellness-products company called Melaleuca Inc. out of Idaho Falls, ID, for the last 26 years, the Wall Street Journal’s Kimberley A. Strassel reports. By all accounts, it’s a healthy and prosperous company — something of a rarity in this current economy. But that doesn’t matter to certain members of “Team Obama.” VanderSloot gave $1 million to the pro-Romney Super PAC Restore Our Future and that was enough to land him a spot on the enemies list.

The eight donors are “wealthy individuals with less-than-reputable records” and some of them have even been on the “wrong side of the law,” according to President Obama’s KeepingGOPHonest site.

And as for VanderSloot, he is a “litigious, combative and a bitter foe of the gay rights movement,” the site claims.

Global-warming policies and the threat to U.S.
'If we use God-given resources, then we can find ways to make the Middle-East less relevant'
From WND U.S. ~ By Kevin Mooney ~ Published May 15, 2012

A Frozen Earth:
The REAL threat to America’s geopolitical standing
WASHINGTON – Contrary to what Defense Secretary Leon Panetta told an environmental organization earlier this month, the threat to America’s geopolitical standing comes not from global warming but from anti-energy global warming policies, according to free market policy analysts and national security advocates.

Defense Secy Leon Panetta
During an annual reception held for the Environmental Defense Fund at the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington, D.C., Panetta described how abrupt environmental changes could unsettle populated areas and create international tension.

The area of climate change has a dramatic impact on national security,” Panetta said at the reception. “Rising sea levels, severe droughts, the melting of the polar caps, the more frequent and devastating natural disasters all raise demand for humanitarian assistance and disaster relief.

While it is possible for climate change to foster instability in certain areas of the world, updated scientific research indicates that the claims are greatly exaggerated and must be carefully weighed, Marlo Lewis, a senior fellow with the Competitive Enterprise Institute, has warned.

He cites a detailed study published in the official journal for the British Science Association that finds there has not been a single instance of a declared war fought over international fresh water sources over a period of five decades. Instead of fighting over water, the countries collaborate and import “virtual water” in the form of grain, the report says.

Cyber-intelligence bill sponsor silent on FBI push to wiretap social networks
From The Daily Caller ~ By Josh Peterson, TheDC Tech Editor ~ Published May 13, 2012

The author of the Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act (CISPA) — a bill that would allow the sharing of network cyber threat information between private corporations and the federal government, particularly the NSA — is staying quiet about the prospect of the FBI’s separate push for the ability to wiretap social networks.

First signed into law in 1994, the Communications Assistance for Law Enforcement Act (CALEA) currently gives the FBI the ability to legally conduct electronic surveillance of telecommunications networks, including traffic over broadband networks and Voice over IP (VoIP). The FBI morphed into a full-fledged intelligence agency following the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks.

A recent CNET report revealed that the FBI was quietly pushing for a reform to the CALEA, and that the Federal Communications Commission was potentially preparing for regulatory action to amend the law, which would require Internet companies to modify their website code to make it easier to monitor persons of interest for national security purposes. The amendment would affect social networks like Facebook, video chat services like Skype, and web email providers.

Commies storm Obama headquarters
President praised radical group founder as 'great reformer'
From WND ~ By Aaron Klein ~ Published May 15, 2012

AARON KLEIN
The protest group that stormed President Obama’s Chicago campaign headquarters today was founded by a communist sympathizer recently named by Obama as a “great” reformer.

Obama has ties to several other activists plotting chaos in Chicago this week in the lead-up to the NATO summit that begins Friday.

Dozens of protesters slipped past security guards today and ran up escalators at the Obama Chicago campaign headquarters to kick off what they called a “Week Without Capitalism,” reported the Chicago Tribune.

Eight protesters, cheered by other demonstrators, reportedly were led out in handcuffs after they refused to clear the lobby.

The protest reportedly was organized by the Catholic Worker Movement, or CWM, founded by the late radical Dorothy Day, a journalist who wrote for Marxist newspapers.

CWM protests capitalism as an economic system that is “far from God’s justice” and calls for “a withdrawal from the capitalist system so far as each one is able to do so.”

CWM calls for the nonviolent destruction of capitalist society to rebuild a socialist utopia.

Discover The Networks notes that CWM recommends “a complete rejection of the present social order”; “a withdrawal from the capitalist system so far as each one is able to do so”; and “a non-violent revolution to establish an order more in accord with Christian values.”

Such measures are to be used, according to CWM, to create a “new society within the shell of the old” – “a cooperative social order” of “communitarianism” without “extremes of wealth and poverty.”

In February, Obama used the annual National Prayer Breakfast to uphold Day as a “great” reformer.  [Emphasis mine]

Declared Obama: “Frederick Douglass, Abraham Lincoln, Jane Addams, Martin Luther King, Jr., Dorothy Day, Abraham Heschel – the majority of great reformers in American history did their work not just because it was sound policy, or they had done good analysis, or understood how to exercise good politics, but because their faith and their values dictated it, and called for bold action – sometimes in the face of indifference, sometimes in the face of resistance.

Day is known for her motto: “The greatest challenge of the day is: how to bring about a revolution of the heart, a revolution which has to start with each one of us?

Greek, European woe could cause problems for US
From GOPUSA News ~ By Bradley Klapper and David McHugh ~ Published May 15, 2012

WASHINGTON (AP) - Your 401(k) could sink again. A plummeting euro may make it harder for American companies to sell goods overseas. Credit could be tightened.

These are all potential complications of a European debt crisis that risks spiraling out of control. And in today's interconnected global economy, Greece's troubles could over time become a headache for all of Europe and by extension, the rest of the world.

That includes President Barack Obama as he faces an already difficult re-election bid, and voters as well, from machine tool makers in Michigan to chemical plant workers on the Gulf coast. Pensioners and home buyers also could be affected.

All this because Greece is at a crossroads, unable to form a government and decide whether it will continue on a path of harsh austerity measures or walk away from its debts and give up on the euro. That would leave many European countries holding their debts and shake the foundations of a currency used by 331 million people.

Will U.S. follow Europe's suicidal fiscal path?
Herman Cain: 'We can and will do better. I refuse to believe otherwise'
From WND Commentaries ~ By Herman Cain ~ Published May 13, 2012

HERMAN CAIN
I believe in democracy and in the wisdom of ordinary people to make good decisions when they have all the information and understand the situation.

These are core principles for me, so I found them challenged last week when voters in France and Greece acted in a way that seemed to clearly demonstrate otherwise. With much of Europe facing massive debt crises, and having agreed to abide by strict debt limits under terms of the European Union fiscal pact, French and Greek voters elected new governments that vowed to defy planned spending cuts and reject the debt limits.

This is especially egregious in Greece, which is supposed to be adhering to terms of an EU-sponsored bailout but cannot get its spending policies under control to save its life – and let there be no doubt, that’s what’s at stake here. Greece has built up so much debt bankrolling its welfare state, and has caused so much government dependence, it endured riots when it reached the inevitable point when the government had to admit it could no longer continue its reckless spending.

France is not in as much trouble, but in some ways the French election result is even more troubling because French President Nicolas Sarkozy was one of the authors of the EU pact imposing the strict debt limits. The election of socialist Francois Hollande represents a rejection of the very idea of fiscal responsibility and leaves Germany in the precarious position of championing spending restraint and limits on debt while sentiment throughout the Eurozone seems to be moving entirely in the opposite direction.

What is going on here? Is my faith in people misplaced? And have I been wrong to express as much faith in the people of the United States – when we too face huge fiscal challenges and there seems to be little support for reform of the spending and entitlement programs that are driving the crisis?

I do not believe my faith in We the People is misplaced, but I do believe it’s important to remember the whole equation. The people will make good decisions when they have all the information and understand the situation. To the extent that people rely on politicians and the mainstream media to get their information – Houston, we have a problem.

See Will Smith‘s Shocked Reaction to France’s Proposed 75% Tax Rate…After Just Advocating for Higher Taxes in U.S.
From The BLAZE ~ by Becket Adams ~ Published May 15, 2012 at 10:59 am

Remember when actor and comedian Jon Lovitz went off on President Barack Obama’s taxation policies? We’re sure you do. Shortly after Lovitz’ now-famous “bulls**t” rant went viral, Zombie, a blogger writing for PJ Media, posited the following theory: left-leaning celebrities are comfortable with taxation and “fair share” rhetoric — but only to certain a point.

Named after the famous “Laffer Curve,” Zombie calls it the “Lovitz Curve.”

And now Will Smith, a strong supporter of President Obama‘s call for higher taxes on the country’s top earners, may have found his “Lovitz Curve.”

[Author’s note: although it’s difficult to understand what Smith is saying because of all the crosstalk and the translation, his reaction at the 1:20 mark is unmistakable]:

And while we're talking about the woes of Greece, and Europe in general, I must now insert this Ted Nugent commentary in order to illustrate the fact that Socialist big government just doesn't work.

NUGENT: California nightmare
Bankrupt state serves as a warning to the rest of America
From The Washington Times Commentary ~ By Ted Nugent ~ Published May 15, 2012

TED NUGENT
Will the last American left in California please turn out the lights? And don’t let the door slam you in the behind. California isn’t going broke. It’s already broke and is $16 billion in the hole. With businesses leaving the state in record numbers because of punitive taxes and bizarre overregulation, the only way forward is to either raise taxes or severely cut benefits. Raising taxes is the mantra of liberals, and California is awash with liberal politicians.

In addition to business-killing taxes and regulations, California has the third-highest state income tax in the nation, the nation’s highest sales tax and the highest gas taxes in America.

Get this: Roughly half of California’s income taxes are paid by just 1 percent of California’s residents. It’s no wonder the most productive people are leaving the state each year as more bloodsuckers move in.

If that isn’t bad enough, California has one of the nation’s highest unemployment rates; its health care system is on the verge of collapse, with dozens of hospitals closing over the past decade; crime is rampant in California’s cities; its public employees are paid staggering amounts of money compared to ordinary Californians; and massive numbers of illegal aliens continue to invade the state.

This isn’t California dreamin’ but rather an American nightmare.

It’s a blinding statement of the obvious, but California’s financial nightmare (and the nation’s) is a terminal addiction to bloated and expensive government completely out of control, with zero accountability.
