Thirty years ago, I could perhaps see young conservatives having certain doubts over liberals' claims that it was preposterous to think a cyclopean, socialist state was in the offing – but not now. Thirty years ago, I was one of those young conservatives, and I had already seen and experienced many of the evils progressivism had wrought. How much more human suffering have Americans endured at their hands since then?

And how much awaits us in the future – when people such as Obama attain the kind of power they really want?

Victoria Jackson: THERE'S A COMMUNIST IN THE WHITE HOUSE!

Erik Rush confirms Victoria Jackson's statement that there is a communist in the White House. Erik goes one step further. He tells of a New York Times article on March 10, 2011 that says, "Mr. Obama has told people that it would be so much easier to be the president of China." And why is that such an incredibly scary statement to be made by the President?

As one blogger put it, "Of course it would. Then he could just slaughter those disruptive Gadsden flag-waving tea partiers," pointing to how that hero of Obama cabinet members, Mao Zedong, slaughtered 70 million people to get the other 700 million to fall in line. How wonderful it would be if Obama could only operate entirely without restraint!

Should the commie-in-chief happen to win re-election in November 2012, by appearing to move to the center to nullify the worries of many Americans that may be thinking that Victoria Jackson is correct, he would then have free reign to do what he wants to without having to worry about re-election in 2016. (Or, then again, maybe NEVER worry about re-election! One of those things Obama could do with one more term would be to follow in the footsteps of his Venezuelan mentor, Hugo Chavez, and virtually become President for life. By hook or crook, Obama would just need to get the 22nd Amendment repealed.)

Of course, some people that read my comments above or Erik's column will think that this is all very far-fetched. I would disagree. There are honestly too many things that we really do not know for sure about Obama, just for the fact that he refuses to allow certain records become public record. However, we do know who he has surrounded himself with, not just while in the White House, but during his entire life, as Erik mentions. Many of his actions as President so far would also give us a clue, too. At least I know that I am not the only one who believes that the speculative projection of Obama's future actions, to the detriment of America, are plausible.

Our Creator gifted human beings with moral freedom (that being the ability to choose between good and evil) with good reason. Those reasons were His own, but since they would initiate an entire theological discussion, I won't get into them here.

America's founders reasoned that establishing a nation that observed the sanctity of that freedom would be of the highest moral good. This is why the American system of governance, though not perfect, is superior to those that have come before or since, and why this nation has enjoyed so many blessings. It gave rise to social, technological, industrial, economic and, yes, spiritual advancement and the ability to share those blessings with the rest of the world.

Up until about 40 years ago, this was also the conventional wisdom among Americans.

Those who find fault with the premises concerning the motives of God and the founders will, of course, disagree; likewise for those who subscribe to the propaganda of America's ideological opponents, which maintains that the United States has simply prospered through predatory, opportunistic associations with less technologically developed nations and our imperialistic designs. This line of reasoning is inane and was originally part of the doctrine of our foreign enemies. Once progressive elites did away with classical education and critical thinking, the inane was readily adopted by wayward Western minds – including those of millions of Americans.

This is, by the by, the worldview with which President Barack Obama was raised. An avowed communist mother and father, a card-carrying communist in mentor Frank Marshall Davis, communist employers in the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) and others, and assorted Leninists and Maoists in such people as Van Jones, Valerie Jarrett and Anita Dunn in his employ pretty much verify Obama's political alignment.

Obama didn't even spend his formative years in the U.S.; his teenage years (in Hawaii) were whiled away under the tutelage of Davis, who hated America and was a Communist Party operative in both in Chicago and Hawaii. Obama attended Harvard and allegedly Columbia, and ultimately moved to Chicago to learn how to "be black" and pursue Saul Alinsky's Marxist model of community organizing.

This, from his earliest days of social consciousness, had always been his objective.

Gas price too high? Here's whom to thank ~ By Henry Lamb

On top of all this, consider that China and India are increasing their use of carbon-based fuels to expand their economies dramatically. They are using cheap carbon energy to manufacture solar panels and wind turbines for use in America to generate energy that is outrageously expensive. What sense does this make? It certainly "spreads the wealth around" at the expense of Americans.

The only way to stop this nonsense is to continue the revolution started in November, 2010 and intensify efforts to put a majority in the Senate who understand and respect the U.S. Constitution and value a free-market economy. If the current administration can be replaced with a president who believes government has no business spreading around other people's wealth, and that the U.S. must become self-sufficient in energy production, while defending our borders at home and our interests abroad, then we can open ANWR, drill offshore and use the resources within our own nation.

Those who object to this goal should be re-tested.

Henry reveals the real reasons for our high gas prices. You probably won't be surprised to find out that much of it may have to do with "spreading the wealth around."

Henry Lamb actually discloses something that has been no secret for a long time, and yet, those that are executing such an idiotic plan are not phased by the fact that their policies are destroying America. Oh, wait, let me be clear. The progressive elites are really not that stupid, I suppose, being that many had graduated from Ivy League schools. So, that could mean only one other possibility: Their destruction of America is INTENTIONAL! And, if you still don't believe that, Henry's column will be another piece of the puzzle that will result, eventually, in giving you the ability to see the whole picture.

In December 1996, Bill Clinton vetoed legislation that would have added more than a million barrels of domestic oil per day to help reduce America's dependence on foreign oil. His reasoning at the time was that ANWR could not produce oil for 10 years, a laughable excuse.

For years, responsible congressmen fought to open ANWR (Arctic National Wildlife Refuge).

The real reason ANWR remains closed to needed domestic oil production is the relentless propaganda campaign waged by green organizations that preach the now-discredited gospel of global warming. These organizations contribute heavily to Democratic candidates and, during the Clinton administration, occupied the White House and management positions of federal agencies. (See this report and especially endnote No. 30.)

The Bush administration tried again to expand domestic oil production. Congressional Democrats would not allow it. They filibustered Sen. Ted Stevens' bill to open ANWR in 2005, and in 2008 killed a bill to expand off-shore drilling. Had the greens, the Dems and Clinton not conspired to prevent the expansion of domestic oil production nearly two decades ago, America could be nearly self-sufficient in energy production today.

Obama may be worse than all of the above. Van Jones, his first green-jobs czar, is a self-proclaimed communist. His "Green Collar Economy" cannot exist unless carbon-based energy is either outlawed or taxed to a price point beyond the price of his proposed alternative energy. Carol Browner, his choice for global-warming czar, is a socialist. She served as administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency during the Clinton administration and hates the use of carbon-based energy in America.

There is no reason to force an already stressed economy into a "green" economy where, for example, a Chevy Volt costs $41,000 (before the $7,500 tax credit) for a mid-size hatchback that's rated 40 mpg highway. Dozens of mid-size cars are available for half the price with mpg ratings in the mid or high 30s. A "green" economy requires massive subsidies from government and/or increased taxes on carbon-based energy to equalize the playing field. This kind of manipulation is not a free-market economy. It is a major factor in rising gas prices and other energy costs.

What's happening in the Obama administration may be much worse than the price of gasoline. His admission to Joe the Plumber that he wants to "spread the wealth around" is a goal that is not limited to the United States. Even in defiance of a court order, Obama refuses to allow off-shore drilling for domestic energy. He has no reluctance, however, to provide $2 billion in funding for drilling off the Brazilian coastline. He is trying to spread the wealth to Brazil, while preventing wealth creation in U.S. oil fields.

Obama's desire to spread the wealth around includes spreading American-generated wealth to foreign countries. It was Obama who pushed his "Global Poverty Act" (S. 2433) to increase foreign aid to the level dictated by the U.N.

Moving to the middle? ~ By Robert Ringer

If you have any hopes of keeping up with what our radical in chief (credit to Stanley Kurtz for the title of his eye-opening book) is really up to, you owe it to yourself to totally ignore everything he says and watch closely everything he does. It isn't an easy task, since most of what he does to continue moving America toward bankruptcy, collectivism and servitude goes unreported by the left-wing press.

For anyone still believing that Barack Obama (Obamessiah, as Mr. Ringer calls him) could ever move to the center, they obviously haven't been paying attention. As Robert says in the paragraph above, it will important to watch Obama's actions very closely over the next two years, and not to expect any help from the left-wing media in doing so.

From the standpoint of those who like the idea of the America the Founding Fathers envisioned, the polls continue to be discouraging with regard to Barack Obama's popularity. Conservatives have been talking about "Obama's rapidly deteriorating poll numbers" for two years now, and, although the numbers do occasionally move a few percentages, the fact is that he has what appears to be a permanent lock on approximately 40 percent of the voters.

As I've said so often, you have to totally write off roughly 30 percent of the population, those who actually want the United States to be transformed into a collectivist utopia. And probably 10 percent or so of that 30 percent is radical enough to openly use the word communism in lieu of such euphemisms as progressivism and socialism.

Yet, in a society now obsessed with "hate speech," we are not allowed to use a term like communism, even when people say things like "When you spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody" or "Someone is going to have to give up a piece of their pie so that someone else can have more." After all, we don't want to be accused of causing Chris Matthews to tinkle on his own leg.

For more than three years, most of the media and a significant percentage of the voting population have been playing the let's pretend game – meaning, let's pretend we don't really know what's happening and that the Obamessiah is a middle-of-the-road guy at heart. They ignore the fact that Barack Obama has appointed radical leftists such as Cass Sunstein, John Holdren, Donald Berwick, Anita Dunn, Van Jones, Mark Lloyd … the list of goes on and on … to positions that give (or gave) them the opportunity to have a major impact on policies that affect every American.

Within a week after Barack Obama was sworn in, I wrote an article in which I stated my belief that he would move swiftly to make good on his promise to fundamentally change America. He did not disappoint. If you look at Obama's track record from the perspective of someone intent on imposing the dreams of his father on the United States of America, it has been a rousing success.

Giving the man his due credit, he has been relentless. He did not allow Congress, the Constitution or the will of the people to stand in his way. From his days as a young boy learning at the knee of communist Frank Marshall Davis in Hawaii to his 20 years of listening, week in and week out, to Jeremiah Wright's hate-America sermons, he has been a totally committed redistributionist.

The Liberal-Fascist Axis, Part 2 ~ By Ellis Washington

Okay, so neither Ellis nor I, nor anyone else, like Glenn Beck... or you, have yet to be hauled away to detention camps... "Yet" is the key word. A couple of days ago (June 9), though, Glenn Beck gave us a warning when he asked, "Where does it end?" 

In the 1st segment of the show (you will see Part 1 of 3 in the video below), Glenn is explaining how just in the last week, things were getting very different. The President is going to go "kick someone's ass," and the Obama minions are beginning to want Obama to start changing things. Huh? I thought a lot of change has already been going on since this regime took power. So, what's there to worry about? I'd have to be crazy to think that anything more extreme could happen... But, as always, I'm just sayin'...

Epilogue

Slavery, abortion, Social Darwinism, eugenics and fascism make up the five-headed monster of modern times. Each head reveal the Nazi doctrine of Lebensunwertes Leben (life unworthy of life). In the modern era, these ideas and policies are directly responsible for the genocide of hundreds of millions of people.

American fascism is exhibited today in policies like: Obamacare, TARP, Obama's takeover of the banking and auto industries, exploiting the Gulf oil leak to destroy the oil industry through federal takeover while forcing Americans into unsustainable alternative energy uses, thus further decimating our economy.

Absent Christianity and Natural Law, Obama's revolutionary policies will only augment the ever-expanding socialist state under the Liberal-Fascist Axis.

Prologue

Slavery, abortion, Social Darwinism (evolution), eugenics, fascism (i.e., Nazism, communism, liberalism), are perhaps the five most diabolical and irredeemable ideas of the past 160 years; yet despite civil wars, world wars, social revolutions, civil-rights acts, Christian revivals and political reforms, this five-headed monster is still alive and thrives under the totalitarian cult of liberalism, now called "progressivism."

1. Slavery

Slavery has existed since the earliest annals of human history and has been practiced at some period by virtually every nation and tribe on earth. In America, it took a bloody Civil War to bring an end to this "peculiar institution" in 1865 and later by law via the 13th, 14th and 15th Amendments.

The Democratic Party proliferated and profited most from slavery, and yet because of liberal hegemony in the academy, courts, Congress, media and Hollywood, the virulently racist background and political madness of liberalism has been largely erased from the history books, and all sins forgiven. Why? Because the Democrats co-opted the black vote in the early1930s, and LBJ and got all the credit for passing the Civil Rights Act (1964, 1968) and the Voting Rights Act (1965).

2. Abortion

Abortion is the act of a woman causing the premature termination of her baby and pregnancy. Despite volumes written on abortion, few writers have made the unmistakable connection between the twin evils of abortion and slavery – such as, for every 1,000 black babies born in America, there are 472 unborn black babies aborted, or for every two black babies born, one black baby is aborted.

The NAACP and the civil-rights movement essentially support the genocide of their own race.

I made the existential connection between slavery and abortion in a Socratic dialogue:

Socrates: Indeed. You must first tell us why this day does America allow an average of 1.5 million abortions annually and 40-53 million abortions worldwide? Why have between 40-50 million abortions occurred in America alone since Roe v. Wade (1973)? This, in a country that in your own Declaration promised each of her citizens "Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness?" Why, Mr. ACLU?

Attorney ACLU: {indignant} B-B-B-But, but, but, but abortions are an entirely different issue than slavery.

Socrates: I agree if by "different" you mean in the manner of execution. However, the public policy is the same: One person, the slave master with slavery and one woman/Supreme Court justice with abortion, has the legal authority to kill another human being, correct, Attorney ACLU?

3. Social Darwinism (evolution)

Social Darwinism understands that the laws of Darwinian evolution by natural selection are applicable to social structures and public policy. Despite the instant and worldwide cult following of evolution since the 1860s, Darwin was rightly skeptical and in a famous letter to Asa Gray Darwin shared his doubts about evolution, writing: "… I am quite conscious that my speculations run beyond the bounds of true science. ... It is a mere rag of an hypothesis with as many flaw[s] and holes as sound parts."

In his 1882 book, "Selection in Relation to Sex," Social Darwinism was his major thesis:

Thus the weak members of civilized societies propagate their kind. No one who has attended to the breeding of domestic animals will doubt that this must be highly injurious to the race of man … hardly any one is so ignorant as to allow his worst animals to breed.

Who determines who lives and who dies? Progressives, of course.

4. Eugenics

"Eugenics is the study and practice of selective breeding applied to humans, with the aim of improving the species." Eugenics was founded by Darwin's cousin, Francis Galton. Margaret Sanger zealously propagated eugenics before becoming the founder of Planned Parenthood, one of the largest abortion providers in the world. Sanger's entire idea for eugenics (of which abortion is its logical consequence) was to bring genocide to the black race, which Sanger and many progressive intellectuals believed was by nature unworthy of full participation in civilization.

5. Fascism

Throughout history, liberalism, totalitarianism, terrorism, anarchy and fascism have been bedfellows – during the Age of Enlightenment (Voltaire, Rousseau, Diderot, Jefferson), through its systemic corruption during the French Revolution (the Jacobins, Robespierre) and later during 19th-century German Romanticism (Schopenhauer, Wagner, Kaiser Wilhelm, Darwin, Nietzsche). The 20th century saw liberalism morph into the progressive movement and the modern welfare state (Lippmann, Croly, John Dewey, Woodrow Wilson, FDR, LBJ, Obama) where the apotheosis of the State has essentially replaced God, reason, constitutionalism and Natural Law.

RINOS' last stand in California ~ By Roger Hedgecock

Though I am familiar with California politics, being here in the land of Bibles and guns of the great Midwest, I know many of the readers of this blog live in California. So, I am posting this great Roger Hedgecock column for those of you in the Golden State, and any other state that may be stuck with nothing but RINOs for candidates.

If I was voting in California, though, I would be very worried, especially with the front-runner Meg Whitman, who happens to be influenced by former Obama jobs czar and Communist, Van Jones. That would be enough for me to pull the lever for a different RINO running for the Republicrat nomination for governor. Just sayin'...

But as California becomes the "Greece" of the U.S. with the state caught between the rock of a strangled economy and the hard place of implacable public sector unions who won't give up a penny in wages or benefits, does Poizner have the proposals which recognize the problem and offer solutions?

Not really. Much like the recent faux campaign in the U.K. in which all three parties refused to tell British voters that Margaret Thatcher was right when she said socialism would fail when it ran out of other peoples' money, the campaign for governor of California is some kind of opera where all the candidates avoid mentioning the coming calamity of certain state government insolvency.

Unlike the straight talk and decisive actions of real Reagan conservatives like New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, the California governor's race is a masquerade of RINOS.

The prairie fire of a political movement known as the Taxed Enough Already party has changed the politics in nearly every state this year.

I say "nearly" because the last stand for RINOS, for what we called "country club Republicans" in the Goldwater days, for the "we're not conservatives," "Democrat lite" Republicans – is here in California.

The major candidates for governor (Arnold is at long last term limited out) are former eBay CEO Meg Whitman and state insurance commissioner Steve Poizner. Neither candidate is generating grass-roots, tea-party enthusiasm.

Whitman has a compelling success story in creating jobs in private business. Her political story is less stellar. She didn't bother to vote until recently.

As a candidate, she rules out across-the-board tax cuts in a state with some of the highest tax rates in the country – a state that is now experiencing (as Art Laffer would predict) falling tax revenues.

Whitman's reaction to the Arizona immigration law was a vow to veto any such legislation if elected governor. She has supported "comprehensive" immigration reform – code for illegal-alien amnesty.

Whitman backed the federal TARP bailout bill. As a member of Goldman Sachs' board of directors in 2001 and 2002, she benefited from financial investments now banned.

She professes an admiration ("I got to know him very well") for Van Jones after she met him on an Arctic cruise dedicated to showing the passengers the ravages of "global warming." Apparently, as a result of Mr. Jones' influence, Whitman will not support repeal of California's job-killing state "cap and trade" law.

Whitman's appeal for votes (her $59 million donation to herself has drenched the state in TV and radio ads) in the California Republican primary June 8 comes down to two themes: "I know how to create jobs" and "The other candidate is no conservative, either."

Whitman, by every account I've seen, was a superb private business executive. Her collaborative work practices applied during a tech boom inspired creative non-union employees to create wealth for more people over a shorter period of time than has rarely been seen in history. None of this experience will translate to success running California state government.

Exposed! Communists boast 'mentoring' David Axelrod

Activists 'educated' top adviser, boosted president's career, too

Newly uncovered correspondence quotes a purported communist activist claiming he served as political mentor to President Obama's Senior Adviser David Axelrod.

The correspondence is highlighted in a brand-new book that exposes evidence of Axelrod working closely with a pair of communist activists who boasted of aiding Axelrod's political career.

"The Manchurian President: Barack Obama's Ties to Communists, Socialists and other Anti-American Extremists" also ties Obama to the same activists.

The title from WND senior reporter and WABC Radio host Aaron Klein skyrocketed to No. 1 on the non-fiction list at Amazon.com upon its official release last week.

The book documents how Don Rose, founder of the pro-communist Hyde Park Voices and member in the 1960s of a purported Communist Party front, the Alliance to End Repression, boasted of his relationship with Axelrod:

"Your dad and I 'mentored' and helped educate [Axelrod] politically," Rose writes, "which is perhaps why you may recall seeing him hanging around the house."

Rose was writing to Marc Canter, the son of the late David S. Canter, who was co-founder of the Voices newspaper and was named as a communist in the late 1960's by the House Committee on Un-American Activities.

"I later wrote a reference letter for him (Axelrod) that helped him win an internship at the Tribune, which was the next step in his journalism career," admitted Rose, referring to an internship Axelrod landed at the Chicago Tribune in 1977.

The newspaper later hired Axelrod full-time. At the age of 27, Axelrod became the youngest Tribune writer when he served as the City Hall Bureau Chief and a political columnist for the publication.

Rose's correspondence with Marc Canter, highlighted in "The Manchurian President," came in response to blog reports claiming Axelrod worked for Rose's Hyde Park Voices, when it was a similar sounding newspaper, the Hyde Park Herald, that employed Axelrod for a short period of time.

The correspondence was later posted on Marc Canter's personal blog.

Axelrod, meanwhile, worked again with Rose and Canter when Obama's future top adviser was hired in 1987 to aid in the successful reelection campaign of Harold Washington, Chicago's first black mayor. Washington himself was supported by a coalition of communist and socialist groups.

Canter, a key Chicago political fixer, was reportedly instrumental in convincing Washington to first run as Chicago's mayor in 1981.

Rose and Axelrod then worked together again, running the 1992 senatorial campaign of Carol Moseley Braun, whose election was notoriously aided by a massive voter registration drive led by Obama himself at Chicago's Project Vote.

Rose was later an organizing member of Chicagoans Against the War in Iraq, the group that invited Obama to speak at its October 2, 2002, antiwar rally in Chicago – an address that was said to propel Obama to national attention.

"The Manchurian President" documents how that rally was also organized by Marxist Carl Davidson and extremist activists Marilyn Katz and Bettylu Saltzman.

Davidson is a notorious far-left activist and former radical national leader in the anti-Vietnam movement. He served as national secretary for the infamous Students for a Democratic Society anti-war group, from which Ayers' Weathermen later splintered.

Davidson was a founder of the New Party, a controversial 1990s political party that sought to elect members to public office with the aim of moving the Democratic Party far leftward to ultimately form a new political party with a socialist agenda.

"The Manchurian President" boasts new evidence, including an exclusive interview with Davidson himself, indicating Obama was a New Party member.

Book exposes radical nexus aiding Obama inside and outside White House

With almost 900 citations, the book bills itself as the most exhaustive investigation ever performed into Obama's political background and radical ties. Klein's co-author is historian and researcher Brenda J. Elliott.

All manner of parasites, vermin, roaches, rats, worms and termites find their way into the building. Long before they're detected, they infiltrate the walls, the floors, the roofs – and then chew their way into the structure, the supporting beams and the very foundation of the house itself. Silently, surreptitiously, whole communities of invaders make places for themselves, hidden but thriving, totally unknown by the homeowner. Then, in time, tell-tale signs are seen. Little droppings, discolored trails, proliferating piles of residue appear in corners, on tabletops, little hanging sacs from ceilings – alarming evidence that the grand old dwelling has been invaded. Decidedly unwelcome creatures have made this place their home, and by their very existence will eventually destroy the house and bring it to ruin. What can be done, when you learn that your house has already been invaded? Well, the tried and true remedy is tenting. Experts come in, actually envelope the whole dwelling in a giant tent – and send a very powerful fumigant, lethal to the varmints and unwelcome creatures, into every nook and cranny of the house. Done thoroughly, every last destructive insect or rodent is sent to varmint hell – and in a day or two, the grand house is habitable again. I believe – figuratively, but in a very real way – we need to tent the White House! For reasons only he can explain, the current occupant has purposely brought a whole flock of social and political voracious varmints with him into our House. He doesn't own it; he hasn't even rented it; we the people have simply given him the keys and invited him to live there for four years, making it convenient to serve us better, to carry out our expressed wishes for our country. To the dismay of millions of us, this occupant seems to think we need an emperor. Even though all polls show that the majority of Americans don't want a whole new government-run health-care system, detest the trillions of dollars in un-payable debt he has foisted on us, question the whole "global warming" scare and disagree with him on many other issues, he boldly announces: "We're going to fundamentally transform America!" And he makes it clear that he is going to cram things down our throats whether we want them or not. Even though he constantly uses the imperial-sounding "I," he knows he can't do it alone. So, he has assembled the most unbelievable coterie of cronies – who buy into his leftist philosophy – to implement and enforce his will on us. Like a very real infestation of termites and rodents, this crew has settled into powerful positions and is already chewing away at the constitutional structure of our government. Out of nowhere, he has created a whole super-layer of "czars" over many crucial functions of our society – with super authority but no accountability to anyone but the temporary occupant. Who gave him this right? Don't the people he's supposed to serve have a say in something this ominous? But it's worse. Far worse. So many of the people he's adding to the public payroll and giving unprecedented power to are socialists, extreme leftists and even proud, boastful Marxists. Communists! Their backgrounds and past allegiances are not hidden; they're easily found by anybody who really wants to know. But when WND published a shocking book earlier this month called "Muslim Mafia: Inside the Secret Underworld That's Conspiring to Islamize America," based in part on a daring six-month undercover operation inside the Council on American-Islamic Relations, Fox News blacked out coverage. No interviews with the authors. No interviews with the interns who penetrated the unindicted terrorist front group at great personal risk. No interest. Fox played it safe. When WND pointed out that a White House adviser, Dalia Mogahed, a supporter of Islamic Shariah law, was scheduled to be the keynote speaker at CAIR's annual fundraising dinner last weekend, again, Fox News took a powder. The cable network that had grabbed attention for recycling WND's original investigative reports on the extremism of Obama's czars – from Van Jones and Brian Jennings to John Holdren and Cass Sunstein – spiked any coverage of the Muslim Mafia exposés – including one linking support from a White House appointee. Mogahed is a senior analyst and executive director of the Gallup Center for Muslim Studies and serves on Obama's Council on Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships. She drew attention when she defended Shariah on a British television show hosted by a member of an extremist Muslim group, insisting the majority of women around the world associate Shariah with "gender justice." What Obama really needs to do is: Invent a time machine, go back to the 2008 presidential campaign and not say, over and over and over again, that Afghanistan was a "war of necessity" while the war in Iraq was a "war of choice." (Oh, and as long as you're back there, ditch Van Jones, Valerie Jarrett and that gay "school safety" czar.) The most important part of warfare is picking your battlefield, and President Bush picked Iraq for a reason. Neither Iraq nor Afghanistan attacked us on 9/11 – or the dozen other times American embassies, barracks and buildings came under jihadist onslaught since Jimmy Carter presided over "regime change" in Iran in 1979. Both countries – and others – gave succor to terrorists who had attacked the U.S. repeatedly, and would do so again. As liberals endlessly reminded us during the three weeks of war in Afghanistan before the U.S. military swept into Kabul, Afghanistan has all the makings of a military disaster. It is mountainous, cave-pocked, tribal, has no resources worth fighting for and a populace that makes Khalid Sheikh Mohammed look like Alistair Cooke. By contrast, Iraq had a relatively educated, pro-Western populace, but was ruled by a brutal third-world despot. It's always something with the Muslims. You either have mostly sane people governed by a crazy dictator – Iraq, Iran and Syria (also California and Michigan) – or a crazy people governed by relatively sane leaders – Pakistan and Afghanistan, post-U.S. invasion (also Vermont and Minnesota). There are also insane people ruled by insane leaders (but enough about the House Democratic Caucus). Sane people with sane rulers has not been fully tried yet. Not only could regime change in Iraq work, but Iraq's countryside was susceptible to America's overwhelming air power. Also, Iraq has fabulous natural resources. Once the U.S. got control of Iraq's oil fields, the Shia, Sunni and Kurds could decide to either prosper together or starve together. (And it's not just oil: They're basically sitting on top of most of the world's proven reserves of cab drivers.) By contrast, there aren't a lot of sticks that can be used in a wasteland like Afghanistan, where the people live in caves and scratch out a living in the dirt. The only "carrot" we might be able to offer them would be actual carrots. But Democrats couldn't care less about military strategy – at least any "strategy" that doesn't involve allowing soldiers to date one another. In the years that followed the Magna Carta, most of the world rejected the notion that kings rule by divine right. Obama acts as if he still subscribes to this theory, and as if he is the king. It must have been by a perceived divine right that Obama named Steve Rattner to be car czar to oversee the government takeover of Chrysler and General Motors; there is certainly no authority in the Constitution for the president to take such action. Rattner, with the blessing of king Obama, set out to punish his king's opponents and reward his king's supporters. Of the 789 Chrysler dealers closed by Rattner, 788 had contributed exclusively to Republican candidates. Moreover, not one of a string of Chrysler dealerships owned by Obama supporters Robert Johnson and Mack McClarty was closed, but virtually all of the dealerships that competed with the Johnson-McClarty chain were closed. Chrysler president Jim Press said: "It really wasn't Chrysler's decision." Rattner resigned July 13 in the face of a multi-million dollar pay-for-play scandal in New York. Another of the king's men, Van Jones, bit the dust when the public learned that he was a self-proclaimed communist who signed a petition calling for the investigation of the Bush administration for complicity in the 9/11 tragedy. These views were perfectly all right with the king, whose chief adviser, Valerie Jarrett, said, "… we've been watching him as long as he's been active. …" Jones' radical ideas were fine with the king, until the public expressed its dissatisfaction. It's not that major media didn't reference me and my news organization frequently. It's just that previously they didn't feel the necessity of actually speaking to me before writing or broadcasting. I guess they figured that would be like calling Hitler for his opinion about invading Poland. Anyway, that's all changed. Today, they're calling. Why? Well, I suspect there is something of an awakening taking place in the Old Media. The tea parties, the town halls, the big Washington rally and the major stories they are forced to catch up on have all helped to give them a clue. Some of the top editors and producers are actually telling their reporters it's time plug into other points of view. Take Washington Post Editor Marcus Brauchli, for example. He is openly and publicly worrying "that we are not well-enough informed about conservative issues. It's particularly a problem in a town so dominated by Democrats and the Democratic point of view." He says he is now challenging his reporters and editors to look at what is going on across the political spectrum – "at the extremes, among the rabble rousers, as well as among policymakers." I guess that's why I got a call this week from the Washington Post. I'm only guessing because, at the time of this writing, I haven't returned the call from the reporter yet. Been too busy breaking news to fill in the competition on what's going on. It's bugging the Post that readers are beginning to feel like they can't get the news in a timely way by turning to the paper. There wasn't a word about "green jobs" czar Van Jones until he had been forced to issue two public apologies and was chased from office mainly by the reporting of my little news agency. WND last April broke the first of more than 20 investigative reports that led eventually to his downfall. The Post also did not report the astonishing ACORN undercover video reports by a pair of young journalists until two days after the first one was aired. I'm not sure if this is another example of the left's wishful-thinking method of analysis or if they're seriously trying to trick the Blue Dog Democrats into believing it. But I gather liberals consider the 1994 argument an important point because it was on the front page of the New York Times a few weeks ago in place of a story about Van Jones or ACORN. According to a news story by Jackie Calmes: "In 1994, Democrats' dysfunction over fulfilling a new president's campaign promise contributed to the party's loss of its 40-year dominance of Congress." That's not the way I remember it. The way I remember it, Republicans swept Congress in 1994 not because Clinton failed to nationalize health care, but because he tried to nationalize health care. Hillarycare failed because most Americans didn't want it. (For more on this, see "Obamacare.") Bill Clinton had run as an old-school, moderate Democrat and then, as soon as he got elected, immediately became Che Guevara. (What is it with all our black presidents and these bait-and-switch tactics?) Instead of pursuing "mend it, don't end it" on welfare and no "middle-class tax hike" – as Clinton promised during the campaign – he raised taxes, signed ridiculous gun restrictions into law, enacted "midnight basketball" as the solution to urban crime, announced that he was putting gays in the military and let Hillary run riot over health care. But just to check my recollection, I looked up the Times' own coverage of the 1994 congressional races. Republicans won a landslide election in 1994 based largely on the "Contract With America," which, according to the Times, promised "tax cuts, more military spending and a balanced-budget amendment." Far from complaining about Clinton incompetently failing to pass health care, the Times reported that Republicans were "unabashedly claiming credit for tying Congress up in knots." Is it that the government is trying to shove health-care reform down our throats despite the fact that 83 percent of Americans are satisfied with what they have? Is it the cap-and-trade farce that will skyrocket prices on every conceivable good and service for no discernible benefit? Is it Obama's goal to spread our hard-earned wealth to those who haven't earned it? It's all of those things, of course, and more. But the objections of many Americans can be summed up in one single word: ARROGANCE. Have you noticed the arrogance of this administration and its media? If you combine a liberal president with a liberal Senate and Congress, reported by a liberal press … the result is a degree of egotism and superiority toward the citizens of this country seldom equaled in any presidential term. Consider Rep. Joe Wilson's shout of "You lie!" during Obama's address to a joint session of Congress. Putting aside the fact that the president was lying (on the issue of whether illegal immigrants would have access to government-run health care), it seems the administration is determined to make an example of Wilson by demanding multiple apologies in various locations and under assorted conditions (standing on his head, hopping on one foot, walking while chewing gum, that kind of thing).
