Time 2 Escape WIFLI Special Edition: Andrew Breitbart dead at 43

Welcome to this Special Edition of Time 2 Escape WIFLI Briefing!

What is WIFLI?
You may be wondering what the acronym "WIFLI" means. I started out by calling these issues the Time 2 Escape Daily, but that didn't work out very well. I quickly learned that putting these issues together on a daily basis was a task I was unable to accomplish. To replace "Daily" in the title, I coined the acronym WIFLI, which literally means "When I Feel Like It." Putting together a post on this blog WIFLI works much better for my schedule, and for the higher quality of each issue that is eventually published!
ANDREW BREITBART (1969 - 2012)
~ A Time 2 Escape WIFLI SPECIAL EDITION ~

A very short time ago, when the story first broke on Fox News and then on Glenn Beck's radio show, I found out that Andrew Breitbart had passed away early today (or late yesterday?) from "natural causes."

It was a very big shock. I had just woke up from a very much needed power nap here in my office (darn, missed about 20 minutes of Glenn Beck's show!) when the story broke on Fox News, and so I pinched myself to make sure it wasn't just a dream, or a terrible nightmare. Very unfortunately, I was wide awake, and it really did happen.

The news hit me very hard. The things that Andrew had worked on in the last few years were fearless. He was a
courageous patriot that exposed the corruption in government. Andrew understood that Americans needed to know what is really going on. He exposed ACORN back in 2009, with the help of undercover videographers James O'Keefe and Hannah Giles.

The fearlessness and courage of the man and his associates is matched by very few.

Though I always knew that there was no way I could ever accomplish anything even close to what Andrew Breitbart has done for Conservative new media journalism, at least it gave me a desire to do what I could to make sure that people were aware of the things that are probably missed by most people while standing at the water cooler or the designated outdoors smoking areas.

Within you is a vision that’s your very own, unique gift to all that is. Be that person who lives that vision, and from it you’ll create great and wonderful richness.

— Ralph Marston, in BE THAT PERSON, March 1, 2012
Yes, Andrew Breitbart was very much a part of my inspiration to be doing what I can for America in my blogs. But perhaps, like Glenn Beck said a few minutes ago, when someone of Breitbart's magnitude passes, there are another 1,000 people that will continue where somebody like Andrew left off. For Andrew Breitbart, I will do my best to be one of those 1,000 people. Though Andrew has gone on to a much better place, the rest of us must carry on, and strive to be one of those thousand people that accomplishes a tiny fraction of what Andrew was able to do.

My most sincere condolences go out to Andrew's wife and four children. Though many of us feel the loss, there is obviously nothing like losing a husband or father. We can only share in the family's grief.

Ultimatum: Investigate ACORN or more videos coming

From WorldNetDaily
Undercover filmmakers warn Holder release will be timed to 2010 elections By Drew Zahn Posted: November 20, 2009 ~ 3:09 pm Eastern © 2009 WorldNetDaily Andrew BreitbartAndrew Breitbart, whose BigGovernment.com rocked Washington with undercover videos exposing ACORN corruption, has issued U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder an ultimatum: Conduct an investigation into ACORN, or more videos will be released just in time to drop a bombshell on the 2010 elections. "This message is to Attorney General Holder," Breitbart said on the Fox News network's "Hannity" last night. "I want you to know that we have more tapes, it's not just ACORN, and we're going to hold out until the next election cycle. … If you get into an investigation, we will give you the tapes; if you don't give us the tapes, we will revisit these tapes come election time." The show's host, Sean Hannity, responded, "This is a blockbuster, what you're saying here. You guys have more tapes, you'll release them before the election – that could have a big impact on the election." Breitbart's ultimatum joins the already growing number of U.S. representatives who earlier this week introduced a House resolution requesting Holder appoint a special counsel to investigate allegations regarding ACORN. H. Res. 911, introduced by Rep. Vernon Ehlers, R-Mich., and cosponsored by 28 representatives, states concern that ACORN may have been spending federal money illegally and charges, "There has not been a cohesive approach to investigating these allegations." ACORN sues government for stripping funding after scandal

From NewYorkDailyNews.com
By John Marzulli DAILY NEWS STAFF WRITER Thursday, November 12th 2009, 3:46 PM ACORN sued the U.S. government Thursday for stripping the nonprofit of funding after employees were caught giving tax advice to a couple they thought was a pimp and his hooker. The lawsuit, filed in Brooklyn Federal Court, seeks to lift a funding ban put into effect on Oct. 1 in the wake of national outrage over the embarassing scandal. ACORN staffers were captured on hidden cameras at several offices nationwide, including in Brooklyn, advising the couple to hide their income. "The charges leveled against ACORN by members of Congress such as that it is a 'criminal enterprise,' or a 'corrupt and criminal organization,' or a 'crooked bunch' are false," the complaint said. The complaint does not specify how much money the group has lost because of the ban. Jules Lobel, a lawyer for the Center for Constitutional Rights, which is representing ACORN, said the group's rights were violated because the federal funding went into effect before any investigation was completed. "It's not the job of Congress to be the judge, jury and executioner," Lobel said. [CLICK HERE TO READ MORE]

Mainstream Media Ignores Juicy ACORN Nuggets ~ By Hannah Giles

From TownHall.com
Hannah GilesBy Hannah Giles Wednesday, October 28, 2009 The “Pimp and Pro” story, exposing ACORN’s willingness to advise a prostitute on tax evasion and child sex trafficking, hit America a few weeks ago. There were a myriad number of angles to report, yet the Mainstream Media's favorite approach seems to be the method in which James O’Keefe and I orchestrated and gathered the information. ACORN Employee Tonja ThompsonIt’s like going fishing, but instead of taking a picture and raving about the 750lb Mako shark you caught, you blather on about the bait that was used. What happens when people get bored? They stop paying attention. What happens when people stop paying attention to an already suffering press industry? We’re seeing that happen now. Rather than simply complaining about the MSM’s negligence on the story, here are some loose ends the media ignored, from our footage alone, that warrant attention. With regard to the children:
  • Baltimore- Why no mention of the toddlers that were in the room while James and I were being counseled on how to manage our underage prostitution ring?
  • San Bernardino- The content of this video was largely ignored except for the part where ACORN worker Tresa Kaelke mentions she shot her husband. What about when she told us not to educate our sex-slaves because they won’t want to work for us? Or when we talked about making money off of clients who would physically abuse the girls? What about the whole transport-the-girls-in-a-school-bus-to-avoid-suspicion discussion?

The hapless, clueless media ~ By Joseph Farah

From WorldNetDaily
Joseph FarahBy Joseph Farah Posted: October 19, 2009 ~ 1:00 am Eastern © 2009 When a daring young man named James O'Keefe and a 20-year-old young woman named Hannah Giles rigged up some hidden video recorders and revealed the true depths of depravity of Barack Obama's ACORN, you might have expected these whistleblowers to be treated like heroes in the media. After all, they were doing the media's work – the work the media had failed to do for so long, as this corrosive and corrupt gangster organization got fatter and meaner while collecting hundreds of millions from taxpayers. Instead of welcoming O'Keefe and Giles into the fraternity and giving them awards for courage and making job offers, the media were downright hostile to the pair. They weren't asked how they did it. They weren't even asked why they did it. They weren't asked about the objects of their sting. There was little outrage or even concern expressed about ACORN officials willingly participating in exploiting under-age foreign girls as prostitutes or their eagerness to break other laws. What did the media want to know about the ACORN tapes? They wanted to know if O'Keefe, the 25-year-old mastermind of the operation, had been trained at the infamous Leadership Institute, a conservative political organization in Washington. It was as if his motivations were somehow the issue. Who cares where he was trained? It's not like they taught Obi Won Kenobi Jedi-style mind control tricks at the Leadership Institute. But that's the point. To most of my colleagues in the media, it's perfectly all right to lie about what Rush Limbaugh says and believes. It's just not OK to give ACORN members an opportunity to reveal the kind of monsters they truly are. I'm ashamed of my profession. At least I'm ashamed of most of those who claim to be practitioners of my profession. The arrogance, self-righteousness and cluelessness they exhibit is truly breathtaking. [CLICK HERE TO READ MORE]

Time to RICO ACORN ~ By Joseph Farah

From WorldNetDaily
Joseph FarahBy Joseph Farah Posted: September 28, 2009 ~ 1:00 am Eastern © 2009 I've never been fond of the RICO Act of 1970. The Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act was supposedly designed to combat organized crime. But it has been misused widely by politicians to go after political enemies. Yet, if there were ever a time and target to use its sweeping powers, the time is now and the target is ACORN. It has been two weeks since the shocking undercover video work of James O'Keefe and Hannah Giles was released to the world. Those videos reveal beyond any shadow of a doubt that ACORN is the very definition of a "corrupt organization." Furthermore, they demonstrated clearly that ACORN officials in several cities are more than willing to get involved in the most heinous kind of criminal activity – up to and including murder and white slavery rings involving the exploitation of helpless underage foreign minors. Nevertheless, since the astonishing sting operations were made public, no charges have been filed against ACORN, though lawsuits against O'Keefe and Giles have been filed by ACORN. Last week, Democratic Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said any official investigations of ACORN by Congress might distract attention from more important issues – like railroading socialized medicine down the throats of the American people and spending money faster and more recklessly than drunken sailors could ever imagine. Gee, I wonder why? Could it have anything to do with the fact that Reid needs ACORN's fraudulent voter registration program to have a fighting chance for re-election? Larry Lomax, Nevada's Clark County registrar of voters, reported last year he saw "rampant fraud" in the 2,000 to 3,000 registrations ACORN turned in every week. He said 48 percent of them were "clearly fraudulent." For instance, ACORN turned in registrations in Nevada last year the entire starting lineup of the Dallas Cowboys. ACORN had hired 59 inmates from a work-release program at a nearby prison, some of whom had been convicted of identity theft crimes. [CLICK HERE TO READ MORE]

Washington Post discovers America ~ By Joseph Farah

From WorldNetDaily
Joseph FarahBy Joseph Farah Posted: September 26, 2009 ~ 1:00 am Eastern © 2009 My phones have been unusually busy lately with calls from major media. It started just in the last week or so. It's not that major media didn't reference me and my news organization frequently. It's just that previously they didn't feel the necessity of actually speaking to me before writing or broadcasting. I guess they figured that would be like calling Hitler for his opinion about invading Poland. Anyway, that's all changed. Today, they're calling. Why? Well, I suspect there is something of an awakening taking place in the Old Media. The tea parties, the town halls, the big Washington rally and the major stories they are forced to catch up on have all helped to give them a clue. Some of the top editors and producers are actually telling their reporters it's time plug into other points of view. Take Washington Post Editor Marcus Brauchli, for example. He is openly and publicly worrying "that we are not well-enough informed about conservative issues. It's particularly a problem in a town so dominated by Democrats and the Democratic point of view." He says he is now challenging his reporters and editors to look at what is going on across the political spectrum – "at the extremes, among the rabble rousers, as well as among policymakers." I guess that's why I got a call this week from the Washington Post. I'm only guessing because, at the time of this writing, I haven't returned the call from the reporter yet. Been too busy breaking news to fill in the competition on what's going on. It's bugging the Post that readers are beginning to feel like they can't get the news in a timely way by turning to the paper. There wasn't a word about "green jobs" czar Van Jones until he had been forced to issue two public apologies and was chased from office mainly by the reporting of my little news agency. WND last April broke the first of more than 20 investigative reports that led eventually to his downfall. The Post also did not report the astonishing ACORN undercover video reports by a pair of young journalists until two days after the first one was aired. But not everyone is thrilled with this new sensitivity to actual news broken outside the so-called "mainstream" media gates. [CLICK HERE TO READ MORE]

Why they aren't covering ACORN scandal

From Columbia Conservative Examiner
Anthony G. Martin By Anthony G. Martin September 20, 3:45 PM One of the biggest stories of the decade--the ACORN scandal--is not being covered by the state-run media (SRM) on NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC, or CNBC. You won't find it on the front page of the New York Times or the Washington Post. You will see no full-page blasts of the story on the front covers of Time or Newsweek. In fact, the only major news outlet that is providing a steady supply of updated information on the ever-growing scandal is Fox News, the network that broke the story due to the relentless investigative journalism of Glen Beck, who provided a platform from which the 2 courageous young people who went undercover to get the goods could report their findings. Why is it, then, that the former 'mainstream media,' to which I now refer as the 'state-run media' due to their gleeful cheerleading for Obama and refusal to report anything negative about the 'Dear Leader,' refuse to run the story of the young undercover investigators who discovered that ACORN is not only a fraudulent front-group for the get-out-the-vote drive for Obama but an American outpost for the illegal overseas prostitution trade. Girls as young as 13 years of age are involved. Under normal circumstances, such a story would be headline news for weeks if not months as outlet after outlet, including all of the major newspapers, would be delving into the background of corruption that runs through ACORN, and, President Obama's open and obvious longterm relationship with the organization. But these are not normal circumstances. The mainstream media has abdicated its first responsibility in a free society to be a watchdog of government. Instead it is now a Pravda, blindly following the orders of a President with an emperor complex. In that sense it is truly the 'state-run media.' [CLICK HERE TO READ MORE]

The stunning, total defeat of ACORN ~ By Byron York

From washingtonexaminer.com
By: Byron York Chief Political Correspondent 09/17/09 3:43 PM EDT The ACORN vote in the House is stunning news. Just 48 hours after Republican Leader John Boehner introduced the "Defund ACORN Act," the bill -- which most Republicans thought Democrats would do anything to block -- passed by a resounding 345-75 vote. It would never have made it to a vote had not the Democratic leadership decided to allow it, and the winning total included 172 Democrats. Yes, 172 House Democrats voted to totally cut off funding for an organization that has worked for years on behalf of Democrats nationwide. [CLICK HERE TO CONTINUE READING]
But not so fast, friends. President Obama would still have to sign the bill. Just sayin...

Propaganda press circle the wagons ~ By Erik Rush

From WorldNetDaily
Erik RushBy Erik Rush Posted: September 17, 2009 ~ 1:00 am Eastern © 2009 On the Sept. 14 edition of Fox News' "The O'Reilly Factor," host Bill O'Reilly queried former President Bush adviser Karl Rove as to whether he thought President Barack Obama is simply a garden variety far-left guy trying to get his agenda across, or actually committed to supplanting our current form of government and economic system with different and quite alien ones. Mr. Rove equivocated; I don't know whether he is of the opinion that leveling such a harsh charge (as the latter) would be unseemly, or he simply didn't want to risk being that wrong. Neither am I aware of what Rove or O'Reilly actually believes, but my opinion has been made quite clear. Last week, video footage began to surface in the alternative press produced by filmmaker James O'Keefe, 25, and his partner Hannah Giles, a 20-year-old student. Through undercover work, they were able to very effectively implicate the Association of Community Organizers for Reform Now (ACORN) in providing counseling to Giles and O'Keefe (who were posing as a prostitute and her pimp, respectively) that amounted to criminal conspiracy. In the past, ACORN employees have been involved in (and, in more than two dozen cases, convicted of) voter fraud; typically, the group has claimed that these exceptional and infrequent crimes were committed by "rogue" employees. The organization also has deep and long-standing ties to President Obama, who brought them on board in various advisory and administrative capacities when he took office. He formerly provided them with legal representation, taught classes for them, and they endorsed his 2008 presidential campaign. This, of course, gives rise to the question of how much ACORN learned from Obama, given that he instructed their operatives. While public outrage over the deeds of the taxpayer-funded ACORN is apparent, and the Senate voted on Sept. 15 to cut off federal funding to the group, the establishment press has essentially ignored one of the largest and most widespread instances of corruption tied to government in history. Newest video ACORN confession: 'I shot him'

From WorldNetDaily
Employee tells undercover reporter about running prostitution ring, setting stage for self-defense killing Posted: September 15, 2009 ~ 5:55 pm Eastern By Alyssa Farah © 2009 WorldNetDaily An ACORN worker in San Bernardino, Calif., says she built the groundwork for a case of self-defense, then picked up a gun and shot her former husband. The statements by a woman identified as Tresa Kaelke at an ACORN office in California come in a new video released on Andrew Breitbart's BigGovernment.com website.
ACORN San Bernadino Child Prostitution Investigation Part I Video provided couresty of veritasvisuals
The video is the latest in a series of revealing reports by filmmaker James O'Keefe and associate Hannah Giles, who previously reported on visits to ACORN offices in several cities, including Baltimore, Brooklyn and Washington. In San Bernardino, the two visited Kaelke's office posing as a politician and a prostitute to explain they were looking for help to set up a prostitution business, trafficking in underage girls from El Salvador. Kaelke admits she used to run a service and states, "I have some experience in how not to get caught." Then she brings up the death of her ex-husband. [CLICK HERE TO READ MORE]
