2010: Don't forget, and do tell! ~ By Herman Cain

In his column today, Herman Cain wants to remind everyone not to forget all the things that Obama and the Democrat controlled Congress have done in the past two years. Herman says that the important thing to do is to make sure to tell people that are willing to listen. Don't let people forget!

Don't forget what President Obama and the Democrat-controlled Congress did in 2010 – and tell everybody who will listen! And if they do not get outraged, then they are sleeping under a rock, and they can't get out.

Pure politicians have for years depended on voters to forget their misdeeds leading up to the next election. But things are different! Voters are not as stupid and uninformed as they used to be. People are more informed and aware of the arrogance of the current administration and Congress than ever before.

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi said they needed to pass the health-care deform bill first, so they can then tell us what's in the bill. They passed it, and we now know what's in the bill: an assault on our liberties, increased taxes through fines and an unprecedented expansion of government bureaucracy in our lives. Don't forget!

The president's insistence on passing the health-care deform bill against the will of the majority of the American people was a historic presidential slap in the face of the people. Poll after poll had confirmed that the people did not like this government takeover of our health-care system, but the president and the Democrat-controlled Congress did it anyway. Don't forget!

Get government out of the market ~ By Henry Lamb

If there was ever a time that I request that you make sure you share a column with your friends, relatives and neighbors, this should be it. In this column, Henry Lamb explains how our financial woes stem from government intrusion into the marketplace.

But here's why you need to share this column: Are you getting fed up with the blatant lies and distortions of the truth like I am? I am so sick and tired of the "blame Bush for everything" crowd! Henry gives us some background here and in a previous column that he wrote back in November 2008 regarding the unintended consequences of the Community Reinvestment Act. The financial collapse of 2008 came upon us because the housing market bubble that was created by the government's involvement had finally burst. Blaming Bush for the collapse is so far from the truth, and yet, apparently many people still believe the biggest lie ever told (by Democrats/Socialists/Marxists/Progressives). It's time that WE the PEOPLE set the record straight! Just sayin'... (and no, I'm not jellin' - I'm yellin'!!)

The cure for the current economic condition is to get government out of the marketplace and out of the lives of individual citizens. Government's correct role in society is to assist – not hinder – free people in their pursuit of life, liberty and happiness. Democrats and socialists believe that government's role is to create an egalitarian society by managing markets, redistributing wealth, and forcing people to live where and how government dictates.

We should never forget: "That government is best that governs least."

The Washington leadership never misses an opportunity to blame the eight years of Bush policies for the economic problems that have befallen the nation. CNN news touts a poll that says 53 percent of the people blame Republican policies for the mess. Both are wrong. Republicans certainly contributed over the years, but the cause of the economic problems must be laid squarely at the doorstep of the Democrats.

The root cause of the economic problem is government interference with the free market.

The root cause of the near-collapse that occurred in the last year of the Bush administration can be traced to the Democratic socialist idea that everyone has a right to adequate housing.

Before President Carter, private lenders in a free market often refused to fund mortgages in certain parts of cities where the neighborhoods were so bad that lenders considered the investment to be unsafe. Democrats and socialists called this practice "redlining." Carter and his Democratic colleagues enacted the Community Reinvestment Act, which effectively outlawed redlining.

This was an enormous intrusion by the government into the marketplace, but it was not enough to satisfy Democrats and socialists. Organizations such as ACORN systematically invaded financial institutions with highly visible public protests, demanding that private lenders fund mortgages for unqualified people in depressed areas. Democrat President Clinton and his Democratic colleagues expanded the Community Reinvestment Act, requiring Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to provide guarantees for these mortgages. Private lenders in a free market would never have made these loans without the intimidation and extortion from ACORN-type organizations and the interference of the federal government.

Intimidation and extortion continued well into the Bush years. When Republicans tried to rein in the loose lending practices at Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, their efforts were blocked (see video below) by Democrats, particularly by Rep. Barney Frank and Sen. Charles Schumer.
Democrats were WARNED of Financial crisis and did NOTHING

Video provided by Sillberdachs
In their effort to meet the socialist goal of providing adequate housing to all people, whether qualified or not, Democratic interference with the free market caused an enormous artificial bubble in the housing market. This housing bubble produced secondary markets in derivatives (packages of government-guaranteed mortgages) and credit default swaps (insurance against default of derivatives). When unqualified borrowers began to default in staggering numbers, the government had to make good on the mortgages it guaranteed, and the insurance companies – like AIG – had to make good on the insurance policies they had issued.

In 2008, under the reign of George W. Bush, the Treasury Department suddenly realized that neither the mortgage companies nor the insurance companies could make good on their commitments and that unless the federal government came to the rescue, much of the financial marketplace would collapse.

Obama and his Democratic colleagues immediately blamed Bush and his policies, when it was the Democrats who bore the ultimate responsibility. Obama and his Democratic colleagues are still riding the "blame Bush" train and apparently are fooling the majority of Americans. The facts, however, may be misrepresented, but they cannot be altered. The same Democratic socialist philosophy that caused the economic meltdown is guiding the Obama administration as it constructs what it is calling a cure.

Obama's plans for the future offer no cure to the economic doldrums; they most assuredly promise even greater economic disaster.

His view and his every action so far reflect the socialist vision of government control and management of the market, and of every individual.

The cure for economic problems is freedom from government interference and management in the marketplace. Get government out of the way. The free market will find its way to profit and prosperity if government will simply get out of the way.

Democrats are quick to say that the absence of government regulation is what caused the economic meltdown. This diagnosis is incorrect, and the medicine they are prescribing will only worsen the malady.

When losing argument, just change the subject ~ By Joseph Farah

Joseph Farah expounds on the supposed violence - mostly astroturfed - against members of Congress by the tea partiers.
The Democratic members of Congress know they took a very unpopular stand. They know they are going to pay a huge political price for ignoring the will of the people. Even they know they pushed the Constitution beyond its outer limits with this legislation, made up the rules as they went along and got their way only by hooker and crookery.

And they are tired of defending their indefensible actions.

So they created a brushfire, a diversion, a distraction, a red herring so they could portray themselves not as the villains they truly are, but the victims in this drama.

  • A Democratic member of Congress says he was spat upon by tea-party protesters at the Capitol during the debate over health care.
  • Another Democratic member of Congress says racial epithets were hurled at him as he passed by the same rally.
  • And yet another Democratic member of Congress claims he was called a "fag" by someone as he innocently walked by the tea-party activists.
On the basis of these reports – all unverified and, in fact, contested by eyewitnesses – some in the media seem ready to open up internment camps for the entire tea-party movement.

Their hysteria over these minor altercations, if they are even real, is what you might expect if the Capitol had experienced an American version of Krystallnacht or at least the burning of the Reichstag.

It's pathetic.

How do I put this plainly and simply? Nothing happened.

First of all, the member who was allegedly spat upon by one individual refused to press charges. That's what the Capitol Police reported. Let me ask you a question: If someone spat on you and there was a police officer there to arrest the individual, would you refuse to press charges? If you did refuse to adjudicate the matter, would you then go out and do countless interviews and send out press releases condemning millions of people for the actions of one?

I guess you would if you were a Democratic member of Congress facing a nation angry at your legislative and constitutional abuses that would justify, in another time and place, being tarred and feathered and run out of town on a rail. I guess you would if you were a Democratic member of Congress trying to indict your political opposition for something that may or may not have occurred at all. I guess you would if you were a Democratic member of Congress who needed very badly to change the subject dominating the country – your own ruthless, unjustifiable, anti-American, socialist power grab.

And how about that second case?

Eyewitnesses, both black and white, said no racial epithets were heard at all. The tea-party nation is a racially heterogeneous group. Can you imagine even one tea-party protester tossing around racial invectives from within a group including folks of different races? It seem on the face of it implausible – unless, of course, you are a member of the elite media and aren't aware of the fact that the tea-party movement isn't lily white. Further, this account is actually disputed by at least one black tea partier who observed the entire incident.

Lastly, the third allegation, by one Rep. Barney Frank, was, according to tea-party eyewitnesses, actually provoked by the member of Congress. According to several present, Frank responded to the chants of "kill the bill" with an obscene shout of "f--- you." It was then, and only then, that one infuriated tea-party protester used a much less offensive f-word in response. By the way, according to the eyewitnesses, the emotionally agitated offender was shouted down by many of those around him for lowering himself to the standards of the openly homosexual (and proud) Frank.

The hysteria of 'violent' right wing ~ By Benjamin Shapiro

Benjamin Shapiro annihilates Frank Rich's attempt to compare those against Obamacare with Kristallnacht of the Hitler regime.
The hysteria over the "violent" right wing is just that – hysteria. The true danger here comes not from the grass-roots right, but from the Astroturfed left, which is being orchestrated and trained by the Obama administration and its media minions to attack Americans who still believe in America's founding principles.

One week after the passage of President Obama's quasi-socialized health-care scheme, 54 percent of likely voters support repeal. And according to Frank Rich, each and every one of those voters is a budding Nazi.

"How curious that a mob fond of likening President Obama to Hitler knows so little about history that it doesn't recognize its own small-scale mimicry of Kristallnacht," Rich writes. "The weapon of choice for vigilante violence at congressional offices has been a brick hurled through a window. So far."

It is Rich, naturally, who knows nothing about history; his ardent support of President Obama blinds him to the slander he has perpetrated on both Americans and Holocaust victims. Kristallnacht was a government-sponsored program of terror and murder in which 91 Jews were murdered, tens of thousands of Jews were thrown into concentration camps, 267 synagogues were razed to the ground, and Jewish businesses through German territories were destroyed and looted. It is despicable to compare one brick through a glass window with an organized campaign of slaughter and violence.

More than that, Kristallnacht was a case of the government persecuting its own citizens. It was not a spontaneous uprising of violent thugs, nor was it a Los Angeles riots-style melee. Kristallnacht was programmed from beginning to end by the Nazi regime. The basic truth is that socialized medicine – an attack on the private sector and on private individuals in the name of the collective – reflects Kristallnacht on a philosophical level far better than a nut hurling one brick through one window at Louise Slaughter's office.

Rich is simply parroting the Obama administration's latest meme: Tea partiers and anyone else who opposes the Obama program is racist, homophobic, un-American scum of the earth, violent in temperament and simple in mind. Rich, with all the subtlety of a nightstick upside the head, expresses the meme this way: "The conjunction of a black president and a female speaker of the House – topped off by a wise Latina on the Supreme Court and a powerful gay congressional committee chairman – would sow fears of disenfranchisement among a dwindling and threatened minority in the country no matter what policies were in play." In other words, if the president were white, the speaker of the House male, Sonia Sotomayor a white male and Barney Frank a strapping heterosexual, the Obamacare plan would have gone through like clockwork.

Patriotism or just PO'd? ~ By Dave Welch

Commentary from WorldNetDaily
Dave Welch By Dave Welch Posted: January 23, 2010 ~ 1:00 am Eastern © 2010 The political breath of fresh air that swept through Massachusetts this week like an old-fashioned "nor'easter" gave hope that the government takeover of health care and the radical agenda of the Marxist/Democrat machine can be slowed or stopped. The fact that it occurred near where another "shot heard 'round the world" occurred on the 19th of the month (April) was particularly sweet. As usual, let me be the fly in the sugar bowl for a moment to remind us of some important facts. First, anything close to center and certainly center-right from the Commonwealth was a huge victory. However, lest we pin too much hope on Scott Brown, it is important that we remember some critical facts. First, he represents a state that has given us Ted Kennedy, John Kerry, Barney Frank and – I know I'll raise some ire with this inclusion – Mitt Romney … all center to very far left on a legitimate scale of true conservatism. This political victory was desperately needed to throw grease under the drive wheels of the Obama/Reid/Pelosi locomotive. The fact that it also represents the uprising of the Common Joe to take our government back is inspiring. With that stated, here is the question we must answer; "How did we get from John and Sam Adams to Ted Kennedy and Barney Frank to begin with?" We must also answer the challenge David presents us from God's word: "If the foundations be destroyed, what shall the righteous do?" (Psalm 11:3) The foundation he was referring to is in verse 1, "In the Lord, I take refuge. …" Do we largely take refuge, aka hide our collective self under His authority and protection? How is it that the region that was the birthplace of freedom and produced like the Adams and documents like the Fundamental Orders of Connecticut declined so far, so fast? While we often deride Western Europe for its dead churches, secularism and socialism, those nations have been on a much longer and more gradual decline. New England is the least churched region in the nation, following in the footsteps of our European cousins, producing similar fruits. In large part the majority of our pulpits, congregations and institutions no longer reflect the "aflame with righteousness" described by Alexis de Tocqueville. We have loved comfort, popularity, prosperity and peace far too much to risk even preaching the offensive truth of God's Word lest we chase off the big donors or aren't invited to be keynote at the Church Growth Conference. While we love to wave flags and wipe a tear on Independence Day, do we really know what patriotism is, or is it even a legitimate premise for Christians? Am I irritating you will all these questions? Good. How we define patriotism in its true form, whether it is just people mad at government overreach and overspending or whether the foundations of it are much deeper, is critical. Noah Webster, in his historic 1828 dictionary defines it as:
PAT'RIOTISM ,n. Love of one's country; the passion which aims to serve one's country, either in defending it from invasion, or protecting its rights and maintaining its laws and institutions in vigor and purity. Patriotism is the characteristic of a good citizen, the noblest passion that animates a man in the character of a citizen. (emphasis added)

The Democrats' technological thuggery ~ By Phil Elmore

Commentary from WorldNetDaily
Phil Elmore By Phil Elmore Posted: January 21, 2010 ~ 1:00 am Eastern © 2010 Force is technology. It is crude technology, but it is technology nonetheless. Technology is the application of a tool or tools to human effort. This produces a result greater than can be accomplished without the tools used. In the case of naked force, technology could be a clenched fist wielded with intent – or it could be the truncheon in the white knuckles of a Black Panther who is bullying elderly voters. The technology of force can also be thieving, manipulation and intimidation of any democratic or bureaucratic process, in this case as nationally exhibited by the Democratic Party. Force, as misused by the Democrats, is the application of violence, abuse of process, libel, slander, propaganda, theft and a variety of other criminal behaviors to gain and keep, through any means necessary, the power to rule, arrogantly and presumptuously, every miniscule facet of your waking life. Democrats engage in this reprehensible, morally bankrupt, hypocritical behavior even as they breathlessly exclaim that their political opponents mean them harm. The example that springs most readily to mind is the bug-eyed, botox-paralyzed, Medusan visage of Nancy Pelosi as she feigned crocodile tears at the thought of those awful, mean "tea party" people waving imaginary Nazi symbols and somehow implying violence because they dared to oppose the socialization of American health care. Meanwhile, as hand-wringing Democrats engaged in these histrionics, their union thugs were beating protesters in an effort to silence them. A supporter of socialized medicine bullied, assaulted and then bit off the finger of an older man who dared to oppose Obamacare. Supporters of amnesty for illegal aliens attacked Americans opposed to the invasion of their nation. Conservative protesters were pepper-sprayed and beaten by homosexual activists. READ FULL STORY >

Fox and foes ~ By Burt Prelutsky

Commentary from WorldNetDaily
Burt Prelutsky By Burt Prelutsky Posted: December 11, 2009 ~ 1:00 am Eastern © 2009 Whenever I hear people outside the administration prattle on about how evil and biased Fox News is, I know I am listening to a flock of parrots who have never even tuned in. As a conservative, I, myself, have a number of problems with the network. For one thing, I resent Bill O'Reilly's ridiculing those who merely ask for documentation that their president was born in the United States, and I also wish he'd stop defending Obama against charges that he's a socialist or worse. If it walks, swims and quacks like a duck, Bill, it's a safe bet that you can pop it in the oven and serve it at Christmastime. I'd also appreciate it if Sean Hannity would wake up to the fact that a lot of us change the channel the second Bob Beckel shows up on the not so Great American Panel. On the other hand, I wish that merely as an experiment a dozen or so liberals could be forced to watch Glenn Beck for an entire week. I would be dying to know how they would react, what they would say, after watching videos of Obama, Rahm Emanuel, Cass Sunstein, Anita Dunn, Andy Stern and John Holdren, spouting off when they think nobody outside the room will hear about their plans to transform America in ways that would have made Dr. Frankenstein blanch, but put a smile on Karl Marx's ugly mug. Evil is as evil does ~ By Erik Rush

Commentary from WorldNetDaily
Erik Rush By Erik Rush Posted: November 26, 2009 ~ 1:00 am Eastern © 2009 It occurred to me that the Thanksgiving holiday might be an appropriate time to consider those things for which Americans have to be thankful in light of the many that we are, at present, in danger of losing. Many younger Americans have a somewhat different take on Thanksgiving and its origins than do those who are older. In education and popular culture, there has been a de-emphasis on religious overtones and an introduction of multicultural, generic "harvest festival" concepts concerning those celebrated at this time of year, throughout history and around the world. Although the "first Thanksgiving" (celebrated by the Plymouth community and Native Americans of the Wampanoag tribe in 1621) was once related to grade school students as a festival of gratitude and brotherhood, contemporary academic edification now carries implications of attendant massacres, genocide and the seeds of later indoctrination into the innate evil of Europeans, capitalism and the American paradigm in general. There are very few on either side of the political spectrum who believe that those whose destiny it was to shape this nation were wholly virtuous people; however, millions of Americans still acknowledge that they were participating in something bigger than they were and something that was, in the greater part, good. The administration of President Obama, folks such as House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, Rep. Barney Frank and the Democratic leadership in Congress are participating in something bigger than they are as well – but it is anything but good. They are currently engaged in the process of dismantling the superstructure of our nation, which has been the most fruitful, dynamic and just system yet devised, and replacing it with a soulless monolith that has proven itself to be morally, spiritually and economically stultifying everywhere similar structures have been erected. In it, people such as the above and their collaborators will rule rather than govern, and those who are now seeking positive change and competent leadership from them will discover that they have chosen nothing less than tyranny. It is both heartrending and horrifying that they have around half of America's electorate convinced that their intentions are good, but that in which they are engaging is patently evil. Liberals' health care sin ~ By Herman Cain

From WorldNetDaily
Herman CainBy Herman Cain Posted: August 24, 2009 ~ 1:00 am Eastern © 2009 When Rep. Barney Frank, D-Mass., was asked a question at a town hall meeting last week about runaway federal spending, he shifted the subject to the cost of the war in Iraq (that's also a blame Bush move). When a lady asked him about the Democrats' health care proposal he asked the lady, "On what planet do you spend most of your time?" In a recent interview on ABC, Sen. Arlen Specter repeated his view that the people attending town hall meetings on health care reform were not representative of most Americans. He is ignoring the truth that they are representative. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other Democrats have called the town hall meeting attendees Astroturf as opposed to real grassroots – un-American and a bunch of crazies simply because we passionately disagree with Obamacare and DemocratCare. That's what liberals do. They shift the subject, ignore the truth and call opponents names to avoid a real debate or rational discussion. These are their sin tactics. The mainstream media are equally skilled in the sin tactics. [READ ENTIRE COLUMN]
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome Herman Cain to WorldNetDaily as one of the weekly columnists. I've been very impressed with his first four columns (I think I may have missed one or two!). He's going to be a great addition to WND, and it helps to make up for Doug Powers (always one of my faves!) deciding to move on. Here is Herman's bio:
Herman Cain is currently a radio talk-show host. "The Herman Cain Show," News Talk 750 WSB-Atlanta, airs Monday-Friday, 7 p.m.-10 p.m. EST (listen LIVE online). He is a former corporate executive and CEO, and still serves on the board of directors of three corporations that range in size from 4 to 16 billion dollars in annual revenue. His latest book, "They Think You're Stupid," was inspired following his 2004 run for the U.S. Senate as a Republican in Georgia. You can also hear and see "The Best of Herman Cain" anytime.
Okay, liberals, are you going to call Herman Cain one of the ignorant, astroturfing, crazies now? Yeah, I didn't think so.

'Castroturfing' America ~ By Erik Rush

By Erik Rush Posted: August 06, 2009 1:00 am Eastern © 2009

I recall an episode of the 1970s documentary "Scared Straight" in which one of the teenage subjects (whom the authorities were attempting to turn from his evil ways via direct exposure to convicts) divulged that it was his intention to enroll in technical school to learn about security systems. That way, he reasoned, he would have carte blanche with respect to any establishment he wished to rob. So I believe was the objective of one young Barack Hussein Obama when he set about the study of constitutional law. This does make sense; in many ways, President Obama's machinations have been akin to those of a stalker or bullying neighbor who has sufficient knowledge of the law to keep his actions just inside the law, while smugly flouting all notions of morality and ethics. Our president's haste in passing the "health care reform" bill (America's Affordable Health Choice Act of 2009) currently being considered by Congress has been unprecedented; the absent perspicacity one might expect given the prospect of a trillion dollar expenditure has been stifled to a degree due to complicity on the part of the establishment press. Obama admonished Congress to get this leviathan legislative beast passed prior to the August recess to avoid facing what they are facing now: The ire of the American people, some of whom are actually beginning to comprehend the profound dangers connected to this bill. Most Americans – even if they did not support Obama for president – are not yet prepared to believe that he is telling lies of the magnitude that he indeed is telling about the health care reform bill; perhaps most do not believe he is capable of doing so, or that so many would stand idly by while such a calamity transpired. But that is just what is happening, and Obama's haste has been to ensure that as much of his agenda is manifested before too many do discover that he is essentially "Castroturfing" America. For Obama's part, much of his duplicity has been overlooked because he is black; the motives and integrity of black Americans – and our illustrious "first black president" in particular – have been considered beyond reproach for reasons I have previously elucidated in this space. Other of Obama's shortcomings and designs are being deftly spun by the establishment press, which is essentially an arm of the administration. The president's dedicated Marxism is overlooked for an additional reason, itself being twofold: Many Americans simply aren't aware of his historical political leanings. Some don't have a working knowledge of what Marxism is, regarding its inherent and profound evil as an ideology. Ergo, they know little and suspect less regarding what this administration really has up its sleeve, that being the installation of a Marxist oligarchy comprised of politicos, activist ideologues and former titans of industry. For those of us who do perceive these deeper machinations, recent developments across the political landscape have been like those in a sinister cult film. Sometime in early 2007, certain pragmatic pundits began speaking on the danger of an Obama administration ushering in full-blown socialism. What has become apparent given the audacity of the "Audacity of Hope" man and the frenetic advancement of his agenda is that we are not actually looking at the advent of full-blown socialism. We're looking at the advent of full-blown communism. [Emphasis mine] [CONTINUE READING]
