The Masscare Massacre ~ By W. James Antle, III

So, want an example of how well state-run Socialized health care works? Check out this story to find out what Massachusetts Treasurer Tim Cahill has to say about MassCare and it's comparison to ObamaCare.
The treasurer (Massachusetts Treasurer Tim Cahill) noted that the theory was by increasing access, it would bring down health care costs. Instead Massachusetts has seen costs increase almost across the board. Those costs, he said, "are being passed on to businesses and consumers in the form of premium increases."
By W. James Antle, III

On Sunday, White House political adviser David Axelrod appeared on ABC's "This Week" and tried to brush aside the message sent by Sen. Scott Brown's (R-Mass.) improbable election. "Senator Brown comes from a state that has a health care plan that's similar to the one we're trying to enact here," Axelrod said. "We're just trying to give the rest of America the same opportunities that the people of Massachusetts have."

Appearing after Axelrod, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) could barely contain himself. "The American people are getting tired of this crap," Graham spluttered. "No way in the world is what they did in Massachusetts like what we're about to do in Washington." Actually, says Massachusetts Treasurer Tim Cahill, the two health care bills are very much alike -- and that's exactly the problem.

Both health care plans rely on the individual mandate, subsidies, and exchanges intended to match buyers with health insurance plans. "If President Obama and the Democrats repeat the mistake of the health insurance reform adopted here in Massachusetts on a national level, they will threaten to wipe out the American economy within four years," Cahill said, launching an all-out offensive against Romneycare in Massachusetts and its cousin Obamacare nationwide.

Medicaid costs have continued to explode, rising from $7.5 billion to an estimated $9.2 billion since the Massachusetts health care law has taken effect. More people now have coverage, but of the 407,000 newly insured only 32 percent paid for their insurance entirely on their own. The remaining 68 percent were either partially or wholly subsidized by the taxpayers. Only 5 percent of newly insured Massachusetts residents who are not receiving any taxpayer benefits obtained their coverage through the state's "Connector" health care exchange.

What's more, according to figures obtained from Cahill's office, only 23 percent of those enrolled in the state-managed health insurance programs pay anything toward their coverage. About 99,000 newly insured Massachusetts residents now receive free coverage through Medicaid. Another 87,000 receive 100 percent taxpayer subsidies through the Connector's "Commonwealth Care" program. And another 26,000 are legal immigrants ineligible for federal subsidies who benefit under the Commonwealth Care Bridge program.

Not only has health care reform cost the state an additional $4.2 billion, but small businesses and consumers are getting walloped. Health care costs continue to skyrocket. Insurance premiums have jumped 12 percent over a two-year period. So much for bending the cost curve.

In a conference call yesterday, Cahill blamed both conceptual flaws in the bill and Gov. Deval Patrick's implementation. "We haven't changed the way we deliver health care. We haven't changed the way we pay for health care," he said. "Nothing's changed about the cost structure but we've blown a huge hole in the budget to increase coverage by 400,000." Just more people are being moved into a broken system, largely at taxpayer expense.

All issues are 'social issues' ~ By Joseph Farah

Those on left are trying their hardest to divide the TEA Party movement. Joseph Farah writes about the "social issues" that unites the TEA Party and Conservative movements.
I know the heart and soul of the tea-party movement.
It is populated by people who think just like I do about these big issues. It is a movement of prayerful people, people who love God, people who go to church and synagogue. And it is a movement of people who revere the Constitution. It is not just a movement founded upon issues of materialism and economics.

Furthermore, I would submit to you that "all issues are social issues." The great economic plundering taking place by a rapacious government and the elite they serve is a "social issue." The victims are people. Private property rights is a "social issue." Equal protection under the law is a "social issue." The rule of law is a "social issue."

And, most of all, the will of the people is a "social issue."

Just as many Americans don't understand the left-right political spectrum extends from totalitarian government control on the left to anarchy on the right, there's much confusion over the phony divide between "economic issues" and "social issues."

A story in last week's edition of Politico attempts to stir up conflict between what it calls the "evangelical right" and the tea-party movement. I am certain it will be the first of many like it in media determined to see an end to both movements.

"A reeling economy and the massive bank bailout and stimulus plan were the triggers for a resurgence in support for the Republican Party and the rise of the tea-party movement," explains Politico's Ben Smith. "But they've also banished the social issues that are the focus of many evangelical Christians to the background."

The story goes on to say the tea-party groups "eschew social issues."

We have become conditioned to hearing that "social issues" are abortion and the gender-bending agenda. However, I would like to make the case that all political issues are, in fact, "social issues." And just as those entering the political fray as tea partiers should recognize this, so must the traditional "conservatives" who have focused their attention on abortion and gender-bending.

I have some familiarity with both camps.

The problem both have is not always seeing the forest for the trees.

America is not just in trouble because government no longer respects the sanctity of life.

America is not just in trouble because government no longer respects the sanctity of marriage.

America is not just in trouble because government is spending more money than it has.

America is not just in trouble because government is redistributing wealth.

America is in trouble because government is doing all of these things and more to exceed the strict limits of its constitutional authority.

And, America is in trouble because government has, to paraphrase Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, "forgotten God."

Obama: The era of big government is ... eternal ~ By Larry Elder

Commentary from WorldNetDaily
Larry Elder By Larry Elder Posted: January 28, 2010 ~ 1:00 am Eastern © 2010 The Massachusetts "Miracle on Ice" hit Democrats like an avalanche crashing in on a downhill skier. Gone is their 60-vote, filibuster-proof Senate supermajority. Likely dead is the Senate version of health-care "reform," if not Obamacare altogether. Stunned and confused, Democrats now scramble around trying to decipher "what it means." President Barack Obama's hard-left base calls the loss of Teddy Kennedy's seat a wake-up call – for bigger spending. They see the defeat as a referendum for broader and bolder "health-care reform" that includes a so-called public option, higher taxes and an expansion of the number of insured through Medicare. Their argument goes like this: People are unhappy, not about reckless spending, but because Obama has governed like a "centrist." He's "caved in to special interests," hasn't gone far enough and hasn't increased government fast enough. He abandoned his "progressive agenda," and voters punished him. Voters, wanting more government, elected a guy who promised less. A Hofstra University professor represents this view in his analysis of "what it means": "The obvious solution, of course, would be a sharp turn to the left. Go where the real solutions are. Fight the good fight. Call liars 'liars' and thieves 'thieves.' Do the people's business. Become their advocate against the monsters bleeding them dry. Create jobs. Build infrastructure. Do real national health care. End the wars. Dramatically slash military spending. Produce actual educational reform. Launch a massive green energy/jobs program. Get serious about global warming. Kick a-- on campaign finance reform. Fight for gay rights. Restore the New Deal-era regulatory framework and expand it. Restore a fair taxation structure. Rewrite trade agreements that undermine American jobs. Rebuild unions. Fill the spate of vacancies in the federal judiciary, and load those seats up with progressives. Rally the public to demand that Congress act on your agenda. Humiliate the regressives in and out of the GOP for their abysmal sell-out policies." Good grief! So much for voters telling Obama to slow down and move toward the center. READ FULL STORY >

Less choice, more murder ~ By Star Parker

Commentary from WorldNetDaily
Star Parker By Star Parker Posted: January 16, 2010 ~ 1:00 am Eastern © 2010 Again, this Jan. 22, hundreds of thousands of pro-life Americans will converge on Washington for the March for Life. The March has taken place every year since 1974 to protest the Supreme Court's Roe v. Wade decision on Jan. 22, 1973, which legalized abortion. Good news for pro-lifers is that 2009 showed evidence of a turnaround in national sentiment toward tolerance for abortion. Two Gallup polls, one done in May and one done in August, showed higher percentages identifying as "pro-life" than "pro-choice." The opposite had been true in all previous years since Gallup first started doing this survey in 1995. But the bad news is that another year has gone by as our nation allowed more than a million innocent unborn children to be brutally murdered – some 50 million since the Roe v. Wade decision in 1973. It somehow doesn't compute that we are horrified watching the bloodbath that has occurred in Haiti – the result of the cold, inscrutable hand of nature – yet we are willing to tolerate the ongoing holocaust taking place in our own country, a holocaust perpetrated by conscious human choice. When I wrote about this last year, President Obama was only a few days past his inauguration. He declined the invitation of March for Lifers to address them, an invitation his predecessor accepted each year. He only issued a statement noting the Roe v. Wade decision, saying: "… we are reminded that this decision not only protects women's health and reproductive freedom, but stands for a broader principle: that government should not intrude on our most private family matters." So, let's not for a minute lose perspective that this president sees abortion as health care. READ FULL STORY >

Is Barack Hussein Bi-Polar?

So, does Barack Hussein Obama seem to be just a little bi-polar these days? It is so hard to know. Think of all the times he says different things, depending on who he is talking to, especially about health care reform, otherwise known as ObamaCare. (Or should that be Obamacide?) You decide:

Obama's bitter medicine ~ By Patrice Lewis

From WorldNetDaily
Patrice LewisBy Patrice Lewis Posted: September 12, 2009 ~ 1:00 am Eastern © 2009 As I wrote a few weeks ago, a nationalized health-care system is clearly outside the constitutional limits of our government. But for some inexplicable reason our politicians didn't pay attention to my column, so I guess I'm forced to address the issue once again. We have a friend, Bruce Woodall, who is a family physician in a rural hospital. He wrote an article for the local newspaper on the ramifications of government-run health care. I received permission to quote heavily from his article. Unlike most physicians, Bruce has worked in foreign countries under socialized medicine. He's also worked in poverty-stricken sections in our country where there is intergenerational dependence on government entitlements. He's seen the good, the bad and the ugly on government-run health care – and therefore can assess the issue far more intelligently than those who have never seen socialized medicine in action. Dr. Feelgood strikes again ~ By Pat Boone

Like all drug dealers, Obama just wants to get power over people by getting them addicted to the government "taking care of every need." Obama's prescription for how to cure this country's ills will be paid for by many generations to come. Some would call it slavery. Read the column now

No compromise, no retreat, no surrender ~ By David Limbaugh

From WorldNetDaily
David LimbaughBy David Limbaugh Posted: September 04, 2009 ~ 1:00 am Eastern © 2009 The key to stopping Obama's far-left agenda is to understand where his heart is. If politicians let their guard down and compromise, the Obama steamroller will regain its momentum and forge ahead to gobble up our individual liberties. Obama's heart is and always has been on the farthest reaches of the left wing of politics. His driving ambition is to force fundamental change on America. That should go without saying, but it must be repeated – and repeated – lest people's forgiving spirits and short memories generate just enough complacency to allow Obama to get back on track. It is remarkable that Obama has lost public favor so quickly. But the other side of that coin is that he is receiving a wake-up call early enough in his first term to allow him to recover well in time for the crucial 2010 elections. Those 'phony claims' of Obama detractors ~ By Patrick J. Buchanan

From WorldNetDaily
Patrick J. BuchananBy Patrick J. Buchanan Posted: September 04, 2009 ~ 1:00 am Eastern © 2009 We should have "an honest debate" on health care, said Barack Obama in his Aug. 22 radio address, "not one dominated by willful misrepresentations and outright distortions." Among the "phony claims" made against the House bill, says the president, are that it provides funding for abortions, guarantees coverage for illegal aliens, contains "death panels" and represents a federal takeover of the health-care system. Is Obama right? Are critics misleading and frightening folks with falsehoods about Obamacare? Well, let us inspect each of those "phony claims." Does the House bill fund abortions? No. However, while the House Energy and Commerce Committee at first voted to exclude abortions from "essential" services, to the howls of NOW, Chairman Henry Waxman conducted a second vote, to drop the anti-abortion amendment. That vote carried. In short, funding for abortions remains an open question. And whether Obama agrees to drop it to assure passage, he supports the Freedom of Choice Act that would, opponents insist, overturn every state and federal restriction, including the Hyde Amendment, which forbids federal funding. Obama has already used his authority to lift the Reagan administration prohibition against using foreign aid funds to procure abortions abroad. Obama is a pro-abortion absolutist. And if abortion-funding is not in the final health care bill, does anyone doubt that Democrats will move swiftly to incorporate it in future legislation? [CLICK HERE TO READ ENTIRE COLUMN]

Liberal lies about national health care, Part 2 ~ By Ann Coulter

From WorldNetDaily
Ann CoulterBy Ann Coulter Posted: August 26, 2009 ~ 6:15 pm Eastern © 2009 With the Democrats getting slaughtered – or should I say, "receiving mandatory end-of-life counseling" – in the debate over national health care, the Obama administration has decided to change the subject by indicting CIA interrogators for talking tough to three of the world's leading Muslim terrorists. Had I been asked, I would have advised them against reinforcing the idea that Democrats are hysterical bed-wetters who can't be trusted with national defense while also reminding people of the one thing everyone still admires about President George W. Bush. But I guess the Democrats really want to change the subject. Thus, here is Part 2 in our series of liberal lies about national health care. 6) There will be no rationing under national health care. Anyone who says that is a liar. And all Democrats are saying it. (Hey, look – I have two-thirds of a syllogism!) [READ ENTIRE COLUMN]

Liberals' health care sin ~ By Herman Cain

From WorldNetDaily
Herman CainBy Herman Cain Posted: August 24, 2009 ~ 1:00 am Eastern © 2009 When Rep. Barney Frank, D-Mass., was asked a question at a town hall meeting last week about runaway federal spending, he shifted the subject to the cost of the war in Iraq (that's also a blame Bush move). When a lady asked him about the Democrats' health care proposal he asked the lady, "On what planet do you spend most of your time?" In a recent interview on ABC, Sen. Arlen Specter repeated his view that the people attending town hall meetings on health care reform were not representative of most Americans. He is ignoring the truth that they are representative. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other Democrats have called the town hall meeting attendees Astroturf as opposed to real grassroots – un-American and a bunch of crazies simply because we passionately disagree with Obamacare and DemocratCare. That's what liberals do. They shift the subject, ignore the truth and call opponents names to avoid a real debate or rational discussion. These are their sin tactics. The mainstream media are equally skilled in the sin tactics. [READ ENTIRE COLUMN]
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome Herman Cain to WorldNetDaily as one of the weekly columnists. I've been very impressed with his first four columns (I think I may have missed one or two!). He's going to be a great addition to WND, and it helps to make up for Doug Powers (always one of my faves!) deciding to move on. Here is Herman's bio:
Herman Cain is currently a radio talk-show host. "The Herman Cain Show," News Talk 750 WSB-Atlanta, airs Monday-Friday, 7 p.m.-10 p.m. EST (listen LIVE online). He is a former corporate executive and CEO, and still serves on the board of directors of three corporations that range in size from 4 to 16 billion dollars in annual revenue. His latest book, "They Think You're Stupid," was inspired following his 2004 run for the U.S. Senate as a Republican in Georgia. You can also hear and see "The Best of Herman Cain" anytime.
Okay, liberals, are you going to call Herman Cain one of the ignorant, astroturfing, crazies now? Yeah, I didn't think so.

Dirty secret No. 3 in Obamacare ~ By Chuck Norris

From WorldNetDaily Chuck NorrisBy Chuck Norris Posted: August 24, 2009 ~ 1:00 am Eastern © 2009 Ever heard the saying, "Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence"? That's true for any of the 1,000+ page versions of Obamacare. Having informed you in previous columns of "Dirty secret No. 1" and "Dirty secret No. 2" in Obamacare, dirty secret No. 3 is the sin of omission. It's what the health care bill doesn't say that will bite you in the end. If you were writing 1,000+ pages on a subject, don't you think you'd have enough space to cover the essentials? But what if some of the issues were political hotbeds? And, if you were trying to sell the package, are there issues you'd intentionally leave out? If you were a Washington bureaucrat, I know you would! In 1,000+ pages, there's surprisingly sparse coverage or complete avoidance of a host of necessary issues. I would cite pages in the bill as I've done in my other articles, but there aren't any covering them. These are questions that need specific answers by the Obama administration as well each of our representatives. [READ ENTIRE COLUMN]

America's Health Care Is Better Than Europe's

From FoxNews.com
By Glenn Beck Thursday, July 16, 2009 Are you ready for universal health care? Lawmakers keep telling us how much better countries like Britain, Canada and France have it. But here's the one thing no one has the guts to tell you: America's health care is much better than Europe's. Critics of our current system love to vilify the evil private corporations: "All they care about is the bottom line!" The funny thing is, when there is a bottom line, the quality tends to improve. I mean, which is better: private school or public school? Private bathrooms or public bathrooms? Private health care or public health care? Obviously private is better, but for those brainwashed by Washington's lies, here are just a few ways in which our health care system is vastly superior to those oh-so-forward-thinking, progressive countries we're apparently desperate to become. Health-care struggle is about freedom ~ By Star Parker

From WorldNetDaily
Star ParkerBy Star Parker Posted: August 22, 2009 ~ 1:00 am Eastern © 2009 President Obama took his case for what he now calls "health insurance reform" to the faith community. He made his pitch in a phone call, also broadcast over the Internet, to clergy who called in and logged on from around the nation. In his remarks, the president ticked off points of contention that dissenters have with his proposals – "government takeover of health care … government funding of abortion … death panels" – and dismissed these concerns as "fabrications." In one swipe, Mr. Obama reduced his opposition to liars. And why, according to the president, are dissenters supposedly making all this stuff up? Because, he told his audience, they want to "discourage people from meeting … a core ethical and moral obligation ... that we look out for one another … that I am my brother's keeper. …" So those whose fight for individual freedom are immoral and our moral champions are those who want to extend the heavy hand of government. Forgive me if sermons about morality are a little hard to swallow from a man who supports partial-birth abortion, who just announced his intent to repeal the Defense of Marriage Act. And who really wants to obstruct moral behavior? [READ ENTIRE COLUMN]

Snake-oil salesmen always lie ~ By Henry Lamb

Henry LambBy Henry Lamb
Posted: August 22, 2009 ~ 1:00 am Eastern © 2009 It's true, there is no health plan; there is only a dream. Obama and his socialist cronies dream about a 100 percent government-run health-care system. This is socialism in its purest form. Once health care is taken over by the government, other segments of the economy will fall more easily. Obama is quick to say publicly that he doesn't want to take over health care; he wants to lower costs by increasing competition. Obama said he didn't want to take over GM, but he did. He said he didn't want to take over financial institutions, but he did. Snake-oil salesmen always lie. Obama is a master snake-oil salesman. There is no health plan. Congress is in the process of creating a health plan. Obama wanted a health plan before the August recess, but it didn't happen. The bills that are now floating around in Congress contain various proposals for elements to be included in the health plan. A year ago, while campaigning, Obama said, "If I were designing a system from scratch, I would probably go ahead with a single-payer system." This is clearly his dream; this is the socialist system he wants to achieve. [READ ENTIRE COLUMN]

From WorldNetDaily.com By Ann Coulter Posted: August 19, 2009 ~ 6:18 pm Eastern © 2009 WorldNetDaily 1) National health care will punish the insurance companies. You want to punish insurance companies? Make them compete. As Adam Smith observed, whenever two businessmen meet, "the conversation ends in a conspiracy against the public, or in some contrivance to raise prices." That phenomenon is technological hubris, an arrogance writ large in the faces, words and deeds of our would-be legislative masters. Our elected leaders, who are supposed to represent us and to work for us, who are supposed to answer to the taxpayers, have instead become technocrats. Totalitarian government, here we come

By Dr. Samuel L. Blumenfeld ~ From WorldNetDaily.com Posted: August 20, 2009 1:00 am Eastern © 2009 My dictionary defines the adjective totalitarian as "a government or state in which one political party or group maintains complete control under a dictatorship and bans all others." A second definition is given as: "completely authoritarian, autocratic, dictatorial." As a noun, a totalitarian is "a person who favors such a government or state." So we are not quite there yet. The above definition certainly describes the present communist Chinese government, the North Korean regime, the Iranian Islamic theocracy, the Saudi-Arabian government, the Cuban communist state, and other such governments in Asia and Africa. But do we have persons in our government who favor a totalitarian system? Of course we do, and that is why they are so eagerly and with all the power at their command trying to force the American people to accept a key element of a totalitarian system: universal health care. Dad threatened after blasting congressman

Wanted assurance Obamacare would care for handicapped son Posted: August 10, 2009 9:44 pm Eastern © 2009 WorldNetDaily An irate Michigan father worried over what Obamacare would do to his handicapped adult son reports he was threatened after trying to get a direct answer from Rep. John Dingell, D-Mich., and has a warning of his own for those who made the threats. "I will use every means available to me, lethal force if necessary, to protect [my son] and my wife. My wife is terrified," Mike Sola told Fox News today. Meanwhile, Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-Mo., was confronted by some pointed questions at a town hall meeting of her own, including one referencing the ongoing dispute over President Obama's refusal to allow public access to his original long-form birth certificate, which probably could establish his eligibility to be president. In an interview with Fox (click on this link to see the video), Sola explained how he took his wheelchair-bound adult son to the front of the room to confront Dingell, 83. Sola said he demanded information about what Obamacare would provide for his son, and Dingell responded with a statement that there is an amendment to address the needs of the handicapped. However, Sola said that amendment doesn't exist. The controversy erupted just as House Speaker Nancy Pelosi expressed in a commentary that those who object vocally to the health care plan are "un-American." "I was trying to speak as an American in a free country with a right of freedom of speech," Sola said. Then he said that "thugs" already have located his home and delivered a threat, although he did not detail its contents. He said it had been reported to police. Sola said he would "take the risk of going to prison" if the threats were repeated. [READ COMPLETE STORY]
