Governments don't create prosperity ~ By John Stossel

John Stossel weighs in on the "government spending creates jobs" issue. After spending trillions of dollars in order to stimulate our economy, unemployment remains high and the economy remains stagnant. One of the points that Stossel makes here is how uncertainty continues to drag down our economy. Pour all the money you can into improving the infrastructure, in other words, and nothing will change if small business - the engine of the economy - is reluctant to expand. The private sector needs to be expanding in order for our economy to prosper.

Politicians say they create jobs, but they really don't. Or rather, they rarely create productive jobs. Government has no money of its own. All it does is take resources from one group and give them to another. The pharaohs might have claimed they created work when they ordered that pyramids be built, but think how much richer (and freer) the Egyptians would have been if they'd been allowed to pursue their own interests.

It's individuals in the marketplace who create real jobs – when they have the protection of life and property under the rule of law.

Economic freedom is the key. The theory couldn't be more clear, and at this late date in human history, it shouldn't be necessary to rehearse the abundant evidence. Look at the various indexes that correlate economic freedom with economic growth. The healthiest economies are those with the most economic freedom. Unemployment is low in those places – 3 percent in Hong Kong, 2 percent in Singapore, 5 percent in Australia

Alas, the United States places ninth, behind Canada, and those countries with the least economic freedom have few real jobs and no prosperity.

Unfortunately, most politicians still don't understand – or have no incentive to understand – that economic freedom, and therefore less government, creates prosperity. Well, maybe that's changing. This year is first I've heard so many presidential candidates talk about the private sector. Indeed, one candidate, former New Mexico Gov. Gary Johnson, told me he created "not one single job. ... Government does not create jobs."

Empowerment: Solution America needs ~ By Herman Cain

Hope and change is not stimulating the economy. Hope and change is not a job, and the latest jobs report shows that to be so. The administration continues to say that the economic hole was deeper than expected. If so, it should have stopped digging.

They also say that people just need to give the president's policies more time.

That's called watch and hope.

Let's get real! America needs more empowerment, not more entitlement and spending by government. Empowerment means enabling businesses, workers and consumers. Get government out of the way. But that's neither in the president's nor the Democrats' DNA.

We must empower our economy with lower taxes on businesses and workers. All we have to do is look at the success of the 1960s and 1980s.

Do you want to know what I think REAL empowerment is? It's having a viable candidate that goes up against the Establishment GOP! And yes, of course, the person that I think could do it is the writer of the column, Herman Cain. I believe that Herman totally understands the big picture, where it is the American people who are empowered to be creative and use their talents to get our economy back on track, rather than Big Government, which never solves anything.

Enough said! This column by Herman Cain proves my point! Is this a great country, or what? I'm just sayin'...

We hear all about America's problems every day. We can't get away from them, especially when the bad news is compounded with more bad news about natural disasters. The latest economic and jobs news is yet another indication that this nation's problems are getting worse and stifling our prosperity.

Every time this administration or Congress tries to fix a problem, it gets worse. That's because the administration believes more government, more spending and more taxes are the answer to everything.

The real answer is less government, less spending and less taxation.

After nearly $1 trillion in federal "stimulus" spending, the economy is still growing at an anemic rate. The first quarter of 2011 weighed in at only a 1.8 percent growth in GDP. Remember, China is growing at about a 10 percent rate of growth.

Obama: Incorrigible, militant statist ~ By David Limbaugh

The America of Obama's dreams is not the one of self-reliance and entrepreneurship to which he paid phony lip service at the beginning of his speech. It is an America in which the government, rather than the private sector, creates wealth and leads ignorant, helpless people by the nose from cradle to grave, from preschool to the academy, with the caveat that if they succeed too much, they will make themselves enemies of the state and targets for punitive action. Obama's new American dream is an American nightmare.

Just as Obama refused to hear the American people on his dastardly Obamacare and insisted that they "take another look" at his plan – a 55th look, to be precise – he is now insisting that we continue to bankrupt America, because he refuses to abandon his Marxist determination to confiscate and redistribute private property and consummate his grandiose vision of transforming America from a land of equal opportunity to one of equal outcomes – depressed outcomes.

David Limbaugh expounds on his perfect description of Barack Obama "as dishonest, hyper-partisan, a bully, a narcissist and a hard-core left-wing ideologue." David goes on to say, "Anyone who thinks my description is exaggerated or too harsh didn't hear his Wednesday speech on the budget." Limbaugh goes on to explain how Barack Obama's speech about the economy on April 13, 2011, was completely representative of Obama's Marxist ideology, as "he gave us generalities and partisan and class warfare."

Obama: Incorrigible, militant statist

In my book "Crimes Against Liberty," I described President Obama as dishonest, hyper-partisan, a bully, a narcissist and a hard-core left-wing ideologue. Anyone who thinks my description is exaggerated or too harsh didn't hear his Wednesday speech on the budget.

One might have expected that a newly elected president who had "inherited" such a disturbingly high deficit, a growing national debt and a forecast of unfunded entitlements soon to explode because of baby-boomer demographics alone would roll up his sleeves and tackle this deficit and debt problem.

Instead, Obama saw that $1.3 trillion deficit, licked his Marxist chops and used it as an excuse to double down on the profligate spending that was driving our budgetary problems in the first place. He proposed – and secured – an $800 billion "stimulus" package.

With messianic winds at his back, Obama proceeded to implement the plan, which couldn't have even qualified as a bona fide stimulus measure in the eyes of an avowed Keynesian. It was a combination of political paybacks, pork and unprecedented waste, with millions going to phantom ZIP codes under the watchful eye of Obama's stimulus cop, ol' sleeping Joe Biden. Adding insult to the sham claim that this money was designed to stimulate, just a fraction of the money was spent in the first year.

Hindsight confirms what many of us predicted: The stimulus did not stimulate. Unemployment became much worse, and the debt continued to explode. Obama's solution was to ignore the entitlements issue and devise new ways to bankrupt the nation, from cap and trade to Obamacare to reversing welfare reform.

Finally, everyone started to recognize our impending national financial crisis, thanks to the alternative media and the tea party. Obama went through the motions of establishing a "bipartisan" deficit commission, but when it recommended remedial action, he shelved it. He then presented his 10-year budget plan, which he said wouldn't add a penny to the debt but in fact would add some $8 trillion. Then he was AWOL, pretending to be above the "childish" partisan fray occurring in Congress over continuing resolutions.

Next, Rep. Paul Ryan produced his "Path to Prosperity," which boldly addressed entitlements, other spending issues and the oft-forgotten component of balancing budgets, economic growth. Obama was forced out of hiding to give us yet another speech on the budget.

His speech was insulting, misleading, reckless and disgraceful. Instead of offering serious, specific proposals, he gave us generalities and partisan and class warfare. In the words of Ryan in an interview with radio host Mark Levin, Obama basically accused Ryan and other Republicans of being un-American – of "pitting children with autism or Down syndrome against millionaires." Ryan said he'd never seen a president give a speech that stooped to this level of partisanship, demagoguery and distortion. Obama's "poisoning the well."

Instead of tackling the spending issue head-on, Obama said the problem is that the rich don't pay enough. And, I kid you not, he suggested setting up another bogus commission.

Real state of the union – by the numbers ~ By Herman Cain

Like the appliance repair man, we will continue to have some restless nights because of broken promises and failed policies by the administration. The House is starting to see the light, but this president isn't even aware of the heat.

Maybe he will become aware in 2012 when he joins the ranks of the unemployed.

You know, I still haven't watched Obama's latest State of the Union address yet. I really wouldn't need to ever watch it, either. I've been focused on watching Obama's actions over the last few years since I first became aware of him, long before he became President. There wouldn't have been much more that I could have learned about Obama by watching the speech. They're just his words (not that he actually wrote them, or anything). And of course, I was already aware that he can read a teleprompter. Obamessiah's actions have spoken much louder.

Herman Cain, in this column, tells it like it really is. Look at the numbers, man! Didn't Obama promise us that jobs were a priority when he wanted his stimulus plan two years ago? And did it work? Has anything Obama has done worked? Trying to make America accepted in the world again? How has that worked out? Say, didn't Obama give a speech over there in Egypt a while back? That's kind of weird, but I guess those folks there didn't take notes during his speech. And, Obama has no clue what to do about the protests. (Or does he? Maybe he considers the Muslim Brotherhood to be his friends. Just sayin'...)

If we are lucky, it will be Herman Cain in 2012 that shows Obama the way to the unemployment line. I happen to like both Herman's words and his actions.

Now that the mainstream media are hopefully done swooning over President Obama's State of the Union speech, some of us are more concerned about the real state of the union, by the numbers. It's not what he said or did not say, nor is it how he said it. It should be about our national security and our national economic health.

The day after the president's State of the Union speech, an appliance installation and repair man was installing some new appliances in our home. Unsolicited, he said he had a hard time sleeping last night after hearing the president's speech. When I asked why, he said he did not hear anything in the speech that made him feel that America is safer as a nation, nor did he hear anything that would really help grow the economy.

I told him I agreed with him, and that he expressed the feelings of probably most of us who are not intoxicated by the president's words and his delivery. Many people are, but most of us are not.

Maybe there are some provisions in the START treaty that regular folk like the repair man and I don't know about. But it appears as if the Russians got a better deal by limiting our ability to deploy missile-defense systems in other parts of the world, where a lot of our enemies are located. For example, cancellation of the missile-defense system being built in Turkey does not seem like a good idea. The world is not safer! And we have reduced our ability to help keep it safe.

Many of the most compelling facts about the real state of our economy were missing from the president's speech.

2010: Don't forget, and do tell! ~ By Herman Cain

In his column today, Herman Cain wants to remind everyone not to forget all the things that Obama and the Democrat controlled Congress have done in the past two years. Herman says that the important thing to do is to make sure to tell people that are willing to listen. Don't let people forget!

Don't forget what President Obama and the Democrat-controlled Congress did in 2010 – and tell everybody who will listen! And if they do not get outraged, then they are sleeping under a rock, and they can't get out.

Pure politicians have for years depended on voters to forget their misdeeds leading up to the next election. But things are different! Voters are not as stupid and uninformed as they used to be. People are more informed and aware of the arrogance of the current administration and Congress than ever before.

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi said they needed to pass the health-care deform bill first, so they can then tell us what's in the bill. They passed it, and we now know what's in the bill: an assault on our liberties, increased taxes through fines and an unprecedented expansion of government bureaucracy in our lives. Don't forget!

The president's insistence on passing the health-care deform bill against the will of the majority of the American people was a historic presidential slap in the face of the people. Poll after poll had confirmed that the people did not like this government takeover of our health-care system, but the president and the Democrat-controlled Congress did it anyway. Don't forget!

John Bolton thinking of running for president

John Bolton, former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, tells Aaron Klein that he is considering a run for President in 2012. His main issues are national security and foreign policy, which he feels that Barack Obama has been very weak on.

John Bolton, the former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, announced today he is considering a bid for U.S. president in 2012.

It was his first direct response to months of Internet speculation that he may join the next presidential race.

Bolton was speaking to WND senior reporter Aaron Klein on the latter's investigative radio show on WABC in New York.

"Yes, I am considering it," Bolton said when asked if he is considering a 2012 presidential run. "I am very concerned about the direction of national security policy."

Continued Bolton: "I am concerned that we hardly talk about it at national level debates in the mainstream media. The president, as they say, just seems to view national security issues as an irritation, as a distraction from what his real priorities are."

Defending Obamacare with 'misinformation' ~ By Herman Cain

Herman explains how the uninformed are so easy to misinform, and what happens when the Democrats try to misinform those that are informed.
In interview after interview, the Democrats and the administration are sticking to their script of lofty advantages and misinformation. Sen. Arlen Specter and Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius were booed at a standing-room-only town hall meeting in Philadelphia last Saturday, trying to defend Obamacare. They did not expect some informed people to show up with very clear and specific questions they could not answer.

The degree to which President Obama is being misinformed or just uninformed is staggering! But misinforming the uninformed appears to be the Democrats' strategy to defend their health-care deform legislation.

In a nationally televised broadcast interview Friday on CBS' "The Early Show," Obama said "this country was going to go bankrupt" without forcing changes to the health-care system. He believes it was "the right thing to do."

The uninformed in this country believes it was the right thing to do because Obama said so. Some of us are not so gullible because we are aware of the gimmicky accounting and fuzzy assumptions that got them the projection they wanted from the Congressional Budget Office. Some of us are also aware of the 159 new boards and commissions created in the bill. Some of us are aware of the host of sneak-a-taxes in the bill, and the expansion of the powers of the Internal Revenue Service to become the health-care police.

Some of us are keenly aware that the Obamacare legislation will ultimately lead to health-care rationing similar to the systems in Canada, England, Germany and other European countries. But the Obama cheerleaders don't care.

Some of us are also aware that the recently passed health-care bill plus the tsunami federal spending, plus the unprecedented buildup of the national debt, plus Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid deficit spending are the real reasons we are heading toward a bankrupt America. There's a deafening silence from the president and Congress about these issues because it does not advance their political agenda.

Obama's speech vs. reality ~ By David Limbaugh

Commentary from WorldNetDaily
David Limbaugh By David Limbaugh Posted: January 29, 2010 ~ 1:00 am Eastern © 2010 Watching President Barack Obama's State of the Union speech makes me wonder whether the reason he tells so many fibs is that he believes them himself. Either that or he is an even better actor than he is a teleprompter reader. Obama not only wasn't contrite about his broken promises and disastrous record; he was on the attack, daring anyone to oppose his agenda – even in the face of the Massachusetts rebuke. But let's see how some of his statements match up with reality. On health care, he taunted congressmen to "let me know" if any of them have "a better approach that will bring down premiums, bring down the deficit, cover the uninsured, strengthen Medicare for seniors and stop insurance company abuses," as if his own plan would do those things. Even the Congressional Budget Office has said most of the Democratic plans would increase the budget. Besides, you can't reduce overall costs when government forces an increase in demand, even if it caps insurance premiums and shifts costs elsewhere and/or imposes rationing. The CBO has also reported that with Obamacare, millions would remain uninsured. So under his plan, costs would rise, quality and choice would decrease, care would be rationed, millions would remain uninsured and, worst of all, the government would acquire an unprecedented level of control over all aspects of our lives. Do conservatives have better ideas? Of course. Restore market forces through tort reform, strengthening health savings accounts, abolishing government coverage mandates, allowing consumers to purchase policies across state lines and eliminating the tax laws incentivizing employer-provided health care, which unnecessarily increase demand by making prices invisible to consumers. A candid Obama would have said, "If any of you have a plan that does not involve restoring market forces and reducing government's role in the health care industry, I'll at least pretend to look at it." "Make no mistake," neither Obama nor his Democratic colleagues will support genuine health care reform, because to reduce costs, we must reduce government control, and they can't abide that. Period. We can have a better America in 2010 ~ By Herman Cain

Commentary from WorldNetDaily
Herman Cain By Herman Cain Posted: December 28, 2009 ~ 1:00 am Eastern © 2009 It is hard to imagine that we can have a better America in 2010 with all the things that got worse in 2009. The economy got worse. The unemployment rate got much worse. The war in Afghanistan got worse. The national debt got much worse. The annual deficit got worse. The general attitude of the American people got worse. The favorability of Congress got much worse. And the president's favorability ratings got much worse. But we can have a better 2010 than 2009, and here's how. First, remember the words of the Declaration of Independence: "That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends (life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness) it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it." We have some altering and abolishing to do to make 2010 better than 2009. It concludes at the ballot box in November 2010. It starts with people getting informed, engaged, involved and energized about the issues, the solutions, the deceptions and the lies about what is being forced onto the American people. I know this is the "season for the reason" for being thankful, and we are. But we have to do some things differently in 2010 to keep this country as the greatest country in the world. Thomas Jefferson said, "The American people won't make a mistake, if they are given all of the facts." President Ronald Reagan also reminded us of that truth. That's what the tea party rallies, conferences and demonstration bus tours are all about. That's what the public anger and outrage is all about, even though the president and the Democratic leadership are ignoring it. People are learning the facts and the truth. This time the people will remember in November. READ FULL STORY >

Obama reducing the debt? Dream on ~ By David Limbaugh

Commentary from WorldNetDaily
David Limbaugh By David Limbaugh Posted: December 11, 2009 ~ 1:00 am Eastern © 2009 Two recent news stories illustrate, more clearly than ever, the Obama Democrats' contempt for the free market and individual economic liberty. If given the chance, they will expand government and spend as much of our money as they can get away with. First we learn that Obama and his party simply will not agree to keep their grubby government hands off the estimated $200 billion the banks are going to repay under TARP. Just when we finally receive this glimmer of good news to ameliorate our reasonable panic over the ever-increasing national debt, Obama announces that he intends to intercept a good portion of the debt repayments and spend it on job creation and assistance to certain debtors. I assume we're supposed to be too dense to remember that his stimulus spending to date hasn't created jobs and that most of it hasn't even been used for that purpose. So when this administration says its first priority is reducing debt, understand we are being played – by consummate cynics. Likewise, the Democrats' various health-care plans contemplate $500 billion in Medicare savings between 2010 and 2019. But instead of using the savings to shore up this entitlement's solvency, they are charging forward with a new entitlement: major subsidies to the uninsured to buy health insurance. READ FULL STORY>>

'We the People' demanding stimulus audit

From WorldNetDaily
GOP's Joe Wilson launches effort after millions allocated to imaginary districts Posted: November 20, 2009 ~ 11:55 pm Eastern By Bob Unruh © 2009 WorldNetDaily Rep. Joe Wilson (R-SC), the man that said 'YOU LIE' during Obama speech to CongressA congressman who famously shouted "You Lie" to Barack Obama when the president was addressing Congress to lobby for his health care proposal now is assembling a petition demanding the truth about the billions of dollars of federal stimulus money being spent. "The Obama administration recently launched a website at www.recovery.gov to track stimulus spending, fraud, and abuse, but unfortunately the website seems to be its very own worst offender," said Rep. Joe Wilson, R-S.C., in an announcement about his plans. "It reports millions of dollars spent to create jobs in congressional districts that do not exist," he said. "Yes. Fake jobs in fake districts." There have been a multitude of reports about the "mistakes" appearing on the government website. The Las Vegas Review-Journal, for example, found $7.7 million allocated from the $787 billion American Recovery and Reinvestment Act directed toward the state's 32nd, 22nd, 9th and 25th congressional districts. The districts, however, don't exist. [CLICK HERE TO READ MORE]

Stonewall transparency ~ By Pat Boone

From WorldNetDaily
Pat Boone By Pat Boone Posted: November 07, 2009 ~ 1:00 am Eastern © 2009 Let's see. I seem to remember a declarative, emphatic promise from candidate Barack Obama, something about "a new transparency in government." Yes, and a resounding, fervent promise by the newly elected President Obama: "My administration will bring a new transparency in our governance." That sounded so good, didn't it? Over the last several decades, the American people have become very angry about the many ways elected representatives have created to feather their own nests, curry favor with special-interest groups and, worst of all, enact legislation that restricts traditional freedoms – without consulting with the people who elected them. Candidate Obama, and the people who were composing his speeches, showed sensitivity to the simmering furor over "earmarks," giant slabs of "pork" added to appropriations and other bills in Congress. Elected politicians have used this sneaky, rotten process for many years; into a multi-billion-dollar bill these scoundrels salt their own local, self-serving, pet projects – often without their names attached – correctly assuming that a few million dollars here or there won't be noticed, and they'll be heroes to their constituents back home. All at the expense of unsuspecting, unknowing taxpayers. You and me. Alaska Sen. Ted Stevens sneaks in an appropriation of $140 million for a "bridge to nowhere." Pennsylvania's Rep. Jack Murtha saddles us with a new airport facility in his district, costing millions, to accommodate two or three flights a day – between Washington and his district. Candidate Obama swore that he'd veto any of these porky earmarks that found their way into any bill that crossed his desk. His promise of accountability – of transparency – of responsibility to the voting taxpayers sounded so great. He was elected by voters who believed his words. But the first appropriations bill that hit his presidential desk contained $7.7 billion in nearly 9,000 earmarks. And he signed it. When questioned about it, he lamely explained that all this pork had been buried in the bill before and during his election – as if that validated it and excused him from his vow. Then he and his advisers quickly devised an $847 billion "stimulus plan" that would "bail out" our lending institutions and auto manufacturers, saving and creating thousands of new jobs and stimulating our crippled, struggling economy. This gigantic, frightening plan was put into play without any consultation with the voters, the taxpayers who would have to fund the whole thing. Right on the heels of that mind-numbing exercise, a new mandate for a gigantic government-run health-care plan was announced – one that the majority of Americans say they don't really want – one that would cost an estimated one and a quarter trillion dollars. The Democrat-controlled House and Senate appeared ready to roll over and rubber-stamp the administration's wishes, again without giving the voting public any say in it whatsoever. In fact, one House bill was over a thousand pages, and was delivered to our cowed representatives the night before they were expected to pass it – without even reading it! What kind of "transparency" was this? Well, the general public, aroused voters by the millions, began to assemble in the offices of their representatives, in town meetings and demonstrations – astounding the administration in a show of anger and militant resistance to these heavy-handed methods that would saddle us all with massive debt and unwanted programs. Obama's uncompromising inner man ~ By David Limbaugh

From WorldNetDaily
David Limbaugh By David Limbaugh Posted: October 23, 2009 ~ 1:00 am Eastern © 2009 It's amazing that Barack Obama still has some fooled into believing he's a model of post-partisanship. Sure, he's as friendly and congenial as they come, as long as you agree with him – 100 percent. When on-script, he is mostly measured, reasonable-sounding and – being a good reader – occasionally eloquent. But when he ventures off-script, he often sounds less sophisticated, petty and even mean-spirited. In those moments, there's no hiding the inner man. We see his inner man on renegade YouTube clips of his speeches to completely friendly audiences where he wasn't expecting to be heard outside the venue, as with his ridiculing of small-town Americans as bitter clingers. His unmasked face often reveals a marked contemptuousness for those who don't share his worldview. He not only doesn't practice bipartisanship but also refuses even to debate the issues, treating dissenters as ill-motivated, disingenuous obstructionists. I was reminded of this as I played a video posted on RealClearPolitics in which Obama – candid, un-coached and bereft of his usual trappings of urbanity – launched into opponents of Obamacare. He gently scolded the Democratic dissenters as "an opinionated bunch" who can "be their own worst enemies" but who at least "think for themselves." "I like that in ya," he said with dripping, head-patting condescension – as if it's a deviation from adherence to absolute truth if you disagree with him on any particular. And that tone was for his "friends." As for Republicans, he said, "the other side, they just sometimes kind of do what they're told." [CLICK HERE TO READ MORE]

The Democrats' 'control gene' ~ By Henry Lamb

By Henry Lamb Posted: August 08, 2009 1:00 am Eastern © 2009 There must be some yet-undiscovered gene in the DNA of people who feel the need to control others. Kings, mullahs, tyrants, despots, dictators and Democrats are all afflicted with this malady. Not since Franklin Roosevelt has evidence of this disorder been so rampant in Washington. The Obama regime is restructuring and empowering government to ensure that all people everywhere are subject to its control. First, understand the strategy: 1) identify problem(s); 2) devise action plan; 3) authorize plan in law; 4) implement plan. Urgent problems the Obama regime has identified include: the economy, global warming and health care. Further down the priority list are Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, North Korea, Russia, education, national security, national sovereignty, and at the very bottom of the list are the concerns of people who are not infected with the "control" gene. At the heart of Obama's action plan to deal with every problem is the principle of government control over individual action. Consider the first problem: the economy. Obama's first action was to infuse failing financial institutions with borrowed money, with government strings attached. In exchange for the money, government gained veto power over the management of private corporations. Had the people in power not been infected with the "control" gene, financial institutions that had made bad business decisions would have paid the consequences, and the self-correcting free-market financial system would, ultimately, have been stronger. But alas, the poisoned tentacles of government now permeate the financial system. The auto industry, an important part of the economy, experienced the same kind of intrusion, with direct government control over the naming of CEOs, directors, budgets and operating plans. Consider the second problem: global warming. The immediate plan of action was for government to take control over private industries that emit carbon dioxide – that is every business that uses fossil fuel. The plan, euphemistically labeled "cap and trade," would arbitrarily limit the quantity of carbon emissions that could be produced by every business. Government control would be exercised in the form of a tax levied against every business that exceeds the government-dictated emission limit. Government's power to tax behavior it does not want, and to reward with tax rebates and incentives the behavior it does want, allows the state to virtually control the behavior of the people. The "cash for clunkers" program, for example, gives $4,500 of your tax dollars to individuals who behave the way governments wants. Ultimately, the cost of Obama's global warming action plan will cost individuals thousands of dollars each year, and will be passed on to everyone who uses energy. It doesn't matter to the people who are infected with the "control" gene that the global warming action plan will not affect global climate in any detectible way. Now consider health care. Obama's plan of action is what he calls a "public option." This is a government-run insurance program financed with your tax dollars. Rep. Barney Frank correctly identifies this program as the first step toward a single-payer health care system. A single-payer (read: government payer) system puts the entire health care system under the direct control of the government. Consequently, every individual who needs health care would be subject to the whims of a government bureaucrat or the winds of political favor. These are the problems and a brief description of the plans of action. Now take a look at the process by which the plans are given the authority of law. The Obama regime relies heavily on the Cloward-Piven strategy for forcing change through orchestrated crisis. When will Atlas shrug?

By John Andrews What is the breaking point? Where will the resistance form? Heavy questions, but unavoidable in the current political climate. The productive members of society can only be pushed so far, some say. What they envision is not defiance of law or a reversal of the election. It is people's growing disengagement from a new economic order that punishes effort and rewards envy — the creepy future that Bill Ritter and Barack Obama intend for us. Columnist Michelle Malkin calls that withdrawal "going Galt." Malkin was the first speaker last weekend when several hundred Coloradans gathered for a free-market leadership conference in Colorado Springs. Her reference was to John Galt, the individualist hero of Ayn Rand's novel, "Atlas Shrugged." She told of seeing a placard at the protest rally for Obama's stimulus bill signing that warned: "Atlas will shrug." So what, you ask. In human behavior, incentives matter. People are choosers, not automatons. Mess them over enough and they're out of here. All history proves it. "We pretend to work and they pretend to pay us." That bitter joke among Soviet factory drones sums up collectivism's ultimate failure wherever tried. [Continue reading]
