WIFLI Briefing for Sep 23, 2012 - It's NOT just about the economy, stupid!

So, here we are, not too far from the most important election in our history.

In an election 32 years ago, there was a Republican that came on strong about the economy, but also, had a view of our foreign policy that resonated with the American people, which is what really won an election against the incumbent Democrat President, Jimmy Carter. Of course, that was Ronald Reagan. Yes, our economy did come around after the election of Reagan, but the economy was really not the issue that decided the race. It was about national security and our foreign policy. Yes, after a few years of Jimmy Carter, the economy was in shambles. But what really ended up making the difference for Reagan was Carter's foreign policy, and namely, the American hostages in Iran.

Until now, the Republican strategy had been to concentrate on the economy. And Mitt Romney was losing on that issue, being that he is so rich and unable to relate to the Middle Class, according to the Obama campaign. However, with all the things going on in the Middle East, the Romney campaign would be foolish not to capitalize on Obama's weakness - foreign policy - and right now is the time to do that.

Being the citizen journalist that I am, the rebel in the Breitbart Army, I'm going to show you some videos in this blog post that brought me to realize that it is not just about the economy.  We'll start with the following video, where we witness the absolute failure of Obama's foreign policy:

But it wasn't until I heard what Paul Ryan said in a campaign speech in Florida yesterday (Saturday, Sep 22, 2012) that I realized I wasn't alone in thinking that there needs to be more about issues other than the economy, especially with Obama winning in the Class Warfare battlefield.

The stories you will see below were right on the money at a very early stage after the attacks on our embassies in the Middle East. It is time for the Republican nominee, Mitt Romney, to emphasize the foreign policy issue. I'm just sayin'...

Welcome to this edition of Time 2 Escape WIFLI Briefing!

What is WIFLI?
You may be wondering what the acronym "WIFLI" means. I started out by calling these issues the Time 2 Escape Daily, but that didn't work out very well. I quickly learned that putting these issues together on a daily basis was a task I was unable to accomplish. To replace "Daily" in the title, I borrowed the acronym WIFLI, which literally means "When I Feel Like It." Putting together a post on this blog WIFLI works much better for my schedule, and for the higher quality of each issue that is eventually published!

It all started when the Obama administration tried to put the blame for the violence in Egypt and Libya on an obscure video.

Anti-Islam Filmmaker Donated Million Dollars To Obama Campaign
From Breitbart's Big Hollywood ~ By John Nolte ~ Published Sep 15, 2012

EXCERPT:
Blame the movie.

Blame the movie.

Blame the movie.

Even though "the movie" was on YouTube for months prior to the collective indignation of thousands of Middle Eastern Islamists all coming together on the eleventh anniversary of September 11th (through a wild coincidence, no doubt), we are being told by our government and our media overlords that we must blame the movie.

You see, if we blame the movie for the burning of our foreign outposts and the brutal murders of four Americans (including our Libyan ambassador who was reportedly raped), we won't blame the burners and the looters and the murderers and the rapists.

You see, if we blame the movie for the Middle East burning, we won't blame the Islamists who are doing the burning and looting and raping and murdering.

Which means we won't further connect the dots and blame Obama's failed Middle East policy; the Obama Doctrine of backing away from the region and allowing events to unfold as America stands idly by -- as the Islamists in the Muslim Brotherhood grab hold of power in Egypt, a country that was once our largest and closest ally.

The real reason for the violence in Libya
White House spokesman Jay Carney and U.N. Ambassador Rice try to explain the violence in Libya, and elsewhere in the Middle East, by blaming the video (movie). It turns out that the attacks in Libya, killing four of our embassy staff, including the Ambassador to Libya, was a coordinated terrorist attack on 9/11/12.

And, yes, Obama's foreign policy has resulted in the Middle East going up in flames.

Obama's foreign policy now in flames
Exclusive: Tom Tancredo tells prez the world isn't a 'fairyland of cosmic brotherhood'
From WND Commentary ~ By Tom Tancredo ~ Published Sep 14, 2012

EXCERPT:
TOM TANCREDO
The horrific events of Sept. 11, 2012, in Egypt and Benghazi were a logical and predictable result of appeasement policies that began with Obama’s 2009 speech in Cairo apologizing for America’s past insensitivities to the hopes and beliefs of the Muslim faith.

Obama chose last Tuesday, the 11th anniversary of the 2001 murder of over 3,000 Americans by a team of radical Islamists, to send a formal message to the world: “The U.S. will never be at war with Islam.” At that moment a crowd of over 2,000 Islamists were attacking the U.S. Embassy in Cairo, breaching its wall and burning the American flag.

What was the first response of the Obama government to this attack on our Cairo embassy and the failure of the Egyptian government to protect our sovereign soil? The embassy issued an apology for the actions of private individuals in the U.S. who put a film on YouTube that insults Islam and the Prophet Muhammad.

It took the Obama White House almost 12 hours to disavow that apology and over 24 hours for Obama to talk directly with Egyptian President Morsi to elicit an apology and a promise of increased protection for the embassy. However, the apologies continue: The White House has asked YouTube to review the controversial film to see if it meets its standards. Has the administration ever done this for any other privately produced 14-minute film?

WIFLI Briefing for Sep 15, 2012 - The Abandonment of Israel?

As an avid reader of Chris Stewart's series, "Wrath & Righteousness," I've already finished Episode 4, "Breathless." Yes, it is fiction. Well, at least the ongoing scenario is fictional. But, despite being "fiction," there is a non-fictional element to this story. Here is the ongoing truth: There is an Islamic-based hatred of the Jewish state, known as Israel.

And the reality that is flowing through the fiction writing of Chris Stewart in "Wrath & Righteousness," is that the superpower we know as the United States of America, is considered to be the evil empire that props up Israel. Sound familiar?

I know that all of the current noise in this election cycle is about the economy. Of course, that is a major issue; so many of our fellow Americans are suffering through very difficult financial times, from losing their jobs, to losing their homes, to being told that if they have succeeded with a business, "they didn't build that." But while the government is busy trying to replace God, it is overlooking the foreign policy issues that will ultimately make us, or break us!

In the title of this WIFLI Briefing, it is asking if you think we are abandoning Israel. You need to know that if we ARE abandoning Israel, it is the biggest foreign policy blunder that we could ever make, and that will prove to be true whether you are a Bible Believer or not. Didn't we learn that trying to appease the enemies of Israel never has a happy ending? Is giving those nations billions of dollars going to keep us safe forever? Isn't it like paying off the mean kid in the neighborhood to not take our lunch money?

The stories you will see below are related to the fact that you can try to appease, to pay off that mean kid to not steal your lunch money, but chances are, you will eventually get beat up, anyway.

Forget about the economy. What we need to really worry about is the abandonment of Israel by this current administration!

Warning! Warning! Warning! Like bells and whistles telling a jet fighter pilot that it's not a good idea to dive toward the ground with the afterburners on. And it certainly seems that President Obama has no intention to support Israel. That is certainly a fact that you'll soon be aware of with the columns I include below.

I just hope that Mitt Romney is prepared to make the huge decisions that will be necessary if he is elected. I'm just sayin'...

This is not something new. As Doug Hagmann reports, it has been ongoing for awhile. It has been part of Obama's plan even BEFORE he was elected and took office:

Abandonment of Israel: “This is just the beginning” (flashback to 2008)
From Northeast Intelligence Network ~ By Douglas J. Hagmann ~ Published: Sep 12, 2012

EXCERPT:
12 September 2012: From U.S. Intelligence official – what we reported in 2008: “I have every reason to believe, based on what I’ve seen at my level of [security] clearance especially over the last several years, that Israel will soon be completely on their own… or worse.” When asked what could be worse than losing the support of the United States, he stated: “when our administration provides more support to Arab countries [with] financial and military aid, undercutting Israel’s defense efforts all while pushing Israel to succumb to the pressure of unreasonable demands designed to end with their political annihilation as a nation.”

It was four years ago when I interviewed a highly-placed outgoing intelligence official who warned that Barack Hussein Obama was not only intent on punishing Israel through abandonment, but actually turning against them by arming their enemies. Sadly, that intelligence official was correct. Excerpted from that 2008 article:

“It is obvious to me that most Americans don’t understand or don’t care what is actually happening in the Middle East relative to Israel. People don’t understand history, or have been subjected to revisionist history based on lies and more lies. Add to that a media that fails to provide an accurate assessment of what is taking place in Israel, in Gaza, and you end up with a very bad situation for Israel,” stated this source. He added that the disinformation coming and going to and from Washington is getting worse, as is the media bias against Israel.

Obama aids Egypt as it tries to buy U-boats
From The Daily Caller ~ By Neil Munro ~ Published: 09/10/2012 11:46 AM

EXCERPT:
President Barack Obama’s deputies are negotiating a $1 billion aid package with Egypt’s new Islamist government, even as Egypt’s cash-strapped military revealed that it is trying to buy $1 billion worth of German submarines that could threaten Israel’s fast-growing offshore energy projects.

The German government has pointedly declined to deny the incendiary revelation about Egypt’s request to buy the two submarines.

Instead, the German government offered vague support for Israel, which is facing renewed threats from Iran’s nuclear program and the Muslim Brotherhood’s rise to power in Egypt.

Our economy will not rise out of the funk that is so far down if we are fighting for our lives in WW III....

Middle East Analysis: WWIII fuse has been lit
From Northeast Intelligence Network ~ By Douglas J. Hagmann ~ Published: Sep 15, 2012

EXCERPT:
15 September 2012: After extensive investigation and analysis of the events on September 11, 2012 in Libya and Egypt, there is only one conclusion I am able to reach: the official narrative of the details of these attacks, provided by U.S. officials and parroted by a complicit, unquestioning media, are being deliberately misrepresented with regard to what actually happened. Simply put, we are being lied to. But it’s much deeper and much more sinister than a simple lie, and it’s not over yet. In fact, what we are seeing is just the beginning.

Since early Wednesday, I have received numerous e-mails asking why I have failed to report about the murder of a U.S. Ambassador and the other attacks at our embassy in Cairo. After all, nearly all other columnists, especially those on the conservative side, have already written pages upon pages of material about the “tragic” events. Some with hysteria, others with rage, but all blinded by partisan politics and emotion that prevents them from seeing the larger agenda at play, which is exactly what the power players want. Meanwhile, the unsettling truth eludes all but a few.

Obama's Islamic tilt in Egypt ~ By Tom Tancredo

Both by constitutional separation of powers and by tradition, the president has wide latitude in conducting foreign policy. George Bush waged a war to achieve "regime change" in Iraq and was widely criticized for it. Obama clearly has a different vision of regime change, one that includes anti-American radicals dedicated to the destruction of Western democracy.

What we need most is regime change in Washington, D.C.

The more we learn about Obama's foreign policy, the more we see all of the pieces of the puzzle coming together. This column by Tom Tancredo brings an important point to light. How else does one explain the administration's willingness to include the Muslim Brotherhood in the changing of the regime in Egypt? It can't be ignorance of what the Muslim Brotherhood desires for Egypt. All you would have to do is look on the Muslim Brotherhood's Official English Website:
Founded in 1928, the Muslim Brotherhood is the longest continuous contemporary Islamist group. It was initially established, not as a political party, but as a da'wa (religious outreach) association that aimed to cultivate pious and committed Muslims through preaching, social services, and spreading religious commitment and integrity by example. It called on Egyptians to unite to confront imperialism and pursue economic development and social justice.
Huh.... Social justice. Where have I heard that before?

Obama's Islamic tilt in Egypt

The difference between Jimmy Carter's mistakes in handling the 1979 revolution in Iran and Obama's handling of the 2011 revolution in Egypt is that Carter's team made mistakes out of ignorance and naiveté. Thirty-one years later, Obama's diplomatic team cannot claim naiveté in dealing with the Muslim Brotherhood and the radical Islamists. Obama is consciously supporting the Islamists in Egypt and facilitating their rise to power.

How else can one explain the extraordinary statements of James Clapper, Obama's director of national intelligence, in his testimony before the House Intelligence Committee, that the Muslim Brotherhood is a "secular organization" that has "eschewed violence"? They operate hospitals in Egypt, so they must be peace-loving humanitarians? Hamas operates charities in the Gaza territory, so they are not really dedicated to the destruction of Israel?

We might forgive some American citizens for being confused about the character and goals of some Islamic organizations disguised as charities, but don't we expect more from our "intelligence community"? As one wit has already observed following Clapper's testimony, we might as well abolish Clapper's agency and save the taxpayers $40 billion if this is the quality of "intelligence" our policymakers are getting from that bureaucracy.

Clapper's statements, made this past week at the height of the Egyptian crisis, might be excused or explained away if they were an isolated incident. But his statements are part of a pattern of mischaracterizing and underestimating the threat from radical Islam. Clapper's testimony can only be viewed as part of the Obama administration's persistent efforts to "humanize" the Muslim Brotherhood and prepare the ground for a new Islamist-run Egyptian government.

John Bolton
John Bolton, the former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, announced today he is considering a bid for U.S. president in 2012.

It was his first direct response to months of Internet speculation that he may join the next presidential race.

Bolton was speaking to WND senior reporter Aaron Klein on the latter's investigative radio show on WABC in New York.

"Yes, I am considering it," Bolton said when asked if he is considering a 2012 presidential run. "I am very concerned about the direction of national security policy."

Continued Bolton: "I am concerned that we hardly talk about it at national level debates in the mainstream media. The president, as they say, just seems to view national security issues as an irritation, as a distraction from what his real priorities are."

Bowing to 'world opinion' ~ By Thomas Sowell

From WorldNetDaily
Thomas Sowell By Thomas Sowell Posted: November 17, 2009 ~ 1:00 am Eastern © 2009 In the string of amazing decisions made during the first year of the Obama administration, nothing seems more like sheer insanity than the decision to try foreign terrorists who have committed acts of war against the United States in federal court, as if they were American citizens accused of crimes. Terrorists are not even entitled to the protection of the Geneva Conventions, much less the Constitution of the United States. Terrorists have never observed, nor even claimed to have observed, the Geneva Conventions, nor are they among those covered by them. But over and above the utter inconsistency of what is being done is the utter recklessness it represents. The last time an attack on the World Trade Center was treated as a matter of domestic criminal justice was after a bomb was exploded there in 1993. Under the rules of American criminal law, the prosecution had to turn over all sorts of information to the defense – information that told the al-Qaida international terrorist network what we knew about them and how we knew it. This was nothing more and nothing less than giving away military secrets to an enemy in wartime – something for which people have been executed, as they should have been. Secrecy in warfare is a matter of life and death. Lives were risked and lost during World War II to prevent Nazi Germany from discovering that Britain had broken its supposedly unbreakable Enigma code and could read their military plans that were being radioed in that code. O's narcissism on display at U.N. ~ By Erik Rush

From WorldNetDaily
Erik Rush By Erik Rush Posted: September 24, 2009 ~ 1:00 am Eastern © 2009
We must embrace a new era of engagement based on mutual interest and mutual respect. … – President Barack Obama, Sept. 23, 2009
I've constructed similar analogies before, so bear with me if this sounds a little familiar: You live in an apartment building, down the hall from a pyromaniac who has served time for arson. The problem is that he's been stocking his apartment with all manner of flammable sundries over the last couple of weeks, and there's every reason to believe he's planning something particularly horrendous. What's really scary is that the group of tenants who have met several times over what to do about this guy have, for some reason, prohibited any decisive action be taken, citing grounds such as lack of probable cause, due process and concern that he might bring a lawsuit if confronted. In fact, the building superintendent has promised sanctions against anyone who goes to the police or the landlord. What's even scarier: Members of your own family agree with the other tenants. This is analogous to the situation that the U.S. faces vis-à-vis North Korea, the Islamic Republic if Iran and, to a degree yet to be determined, much of the Islamic world. Many Americans who are not committed leftists agree that American foreign policy has grown increasingly limp-wristed over the last 30 years. Despite the mobilization against Islamic fascists in the wake of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, this also includes the administration of George W. Bush in key areas. In days past, the U.S. was willing and able to act unilaterally when tyrants and destabilizing forces emerged on the geopolitical stage. What the majority of Americans do not know is that, for the aforementioned last 30 years, it has been the intent of certain of our leaders and lawmakers that America lose its global preeminence. Joe Biden: Mark my words... ~ By John Kubicek

By John Kubicek July 2, 2009 at 1:50 PM I just returned from my one day retreat in Madison, Wisconsin, and a night off from work, to celebrate my "Christmas In July," my annual celebration of when I was given life, and when the Unites States was born. The first four days of July, though, is my favorite time of the year, second only to the Thanksgiving/Christmas holidays. Anyway, it was very nice to get away for a day. I greatly enjoyed my annual retreat up to Madison, especially since I had to miss the trip last year, somewhat due to the horrible Flood of 2008 in Cedar Rapids and nearly $4.00/gallon gasoline... and no job. I'm back home now, and need to get right back to work. So, let's get started with this: Over the last months, I've been wondering what Joe Biden was talking about with his famous statement that he made in October of 2008, during the Presidential campaign, when talking to campaign contributors, as transcribed by Fox News from the Hannity and Colmes on October 21, 2008:

From Hannity and Colmes, October 21, 2008:

(BEGIN AUDIO CLIP) JOE BIDEN, (D) VICE PRESIDENTIAL NOMINEE: Mark my words. It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy. The world is looking. We are about to elect a brilliant 47-year-old president of the United States of America. Remember I said it standing here, if you don't remember anything else I said. Watch, we are going to have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy. He's going to have to make some really tough — I don't know what the decisions will be — but I promise you, it will occur. As a student of history that has served seven presidents, I guarantee you it's going to happen. I can give you at least four or five scenarios from where it might originate. (END AUDIO CLIP)

So, assuming that Joe-the-gaff-machine was talking about Obama's first 6 months in office, I wanted to know what he may have been talking about, when he said: "I can give you at least four or five scenarios from where it might originate." [CONTINUE READING]

Obama and Reagan: Study in contrasts ~ By Oliver North

By Oliver North Posted: June 19, 2009 1:00 am Eastern © 2009 ST. PETERSBURG, Russia – "What are you Americans thinking?" asked the young woman in perfect, if slightly accented, English. She was wearing a name tag with "Marie" in both Cyrillic and Latin print and had greeted us pleasantly when we ducked out of the rain and into her store to buy postcards and mementos for our grandchildren. Her question about American "thinking" came in the midst of a conversation about how dramatically life in Russia had changed during her 27 brief years. "What do you mean?" I replied. "What are you Americans thinking about freedom?" Marie asked. Somewhat perplexed, I answered: "We think individual liberty is wonderful. Why do you ask?" Her response was a reproach: "Why isn't America supporting freedom for the people of Iran?" My meandering rejoinder about "uncertainty" and "unique challenges" was unsatisfying to both of us – a tawdry example of my inability to criticize our government while in a foreign country. A few hours after this encounter, our ship sailed into the Baltic Sea, past the nearly abandoned base at Kronshtadt, once a stronghold of the no-longer-mighty Soviet navy. Seeing its now-dilapidated structures and rusting hulls was a reminder that we have not always had a problem explaining what America stands for. Twenty-two years ago this month, President Ronald Reagan stood at the Brandenburg Gate, in Berlin, boldly pointed to the barrier dividing the city, and declared: "There is one sign the Soviets can make that would be unmistakable, that would advance dramatically the cause of freedom and peace. General Secretary Gorbachev, if you seek peace, if you seek prosperity for the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe … Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!" President Reagan's words were the knockout punch that buckled the knees of the Soviet empire. While some may think it was just a great line in a speech, Marie and tens of millions of other once-captive people know better. The challenge Mr. Reagan issued in the heart of Europe precipitated the end of a tyrannical system that had bullied, enslaved and murdered three generations of human beings for more than six decades. It wasn't just a sound bite. It was a consistent part of what Ronald Reagan said he wanted to achieve as president of the United States. [CONTINUE READING]

Venezuela's Chavez courts Iran as US shows concern

By RACHEL JONES CARACAS, Venezuela (AP) — President Hugo Chavez met with a delegation from Iran on Saturday to prepare for an upcoming visit from President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad — an alliance that has provoked concern in Washington. Venezuela's ambassador to Iran, David Velasquez, said following the meeting that Ahmadinejad's visit will deepen ties between the countries and "allow us to move ahead in the transfer of technology and industry," according to Venezuela's state-run Bolivarian News Agency. Latin America's leftist leaders have in recent years strengthened relations with countries including China and Iran — inroads that U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton on Friday termed "quite disturbing." "They are building very strong economic and political connections with a lot of these leaders. I don't think that's in our interest," Clinton said. She said President Barack Obama's administration aims to improve deteriorating relations with Latin American nations including Bolivia, Nicaragua and Venezuela to counter the growing influence of China, Iran and Russia in the region.
