Ex-federal prosecutor launches probe of Holder

From WorldNetDaily
'It is time, before lasting damage is done to our national security' By Bob Unruh Posted: January 27, 2010 ~ 10:18 pm Eastern © 2010 WorldNetDaily Larry Klayman, former Federal prosecutorA former federal prosecutor and relentless litigator whose enemies in Washington include politicians on both sides of the aisle has announced he is launching an investigation of Attorney General Eric Holder. Larry Klayman, founder of Freedom Watch USA, still is known in Washington as the biggest enemy of the city's elite, and his battles against corruption in the Clinton administration became so well known the "West Wing" character Harry Klaypool was based on his work. "Eric Holder is typical of the corrupt establishment crowd that voters rebelled against last Tuesday when they voted to elect as senator Scott Brown from Massachusetts," Klayman told WND. "In fact, the decision by the Obama administration to go soft on non-citizen terrorists was a key factor in this vote. Now, it is time to investigate and create the climate to get rid of Eric Holder, before lasting damage is done to our national security. "Independents, liberals and conservatives rose up in Massachusetts and now it's time for Freedom Watch to finish the job," he said. Klayman, a former Justice Department prosecutor and founder of both Judicial Watch and Freedom Watch, said his new organization has launched an investigation of Holder. "The attorney general's refusal to prosecute admitted terrorists, like the Christmas Day bomber and the infamous Khalid Sheikh Mohammad (KSM), as so-called 'enemy combatants' has resulted in the hindrance of national security and law enforcement agencies," he said in a prepared statement. "This refusal by Holder not only resulted in Miranda rights being read to the Christmas Day bomber – preventing the FBI and other agencies from obtaining meaningful intelligence from him when his lawyer stopped the interrogation – but with regard to KSM, has also jeopardized the safety of New York City residents, due to the insistence of investigating an act of terror as if it were a common crime." Fretting: Nearly 2 of 3 expect terror trials to spark attack

From WorldNetDaily
Survey: Fear of retribution very real across America By Bob Unruh Posted: December 27, 2009 - 8:06 pm Eastern © 2009 WorldNetDaily Editor's note: This is another in a series of monthly "WND/WENZEL POLLS" - polls conducted exclusively for WND by the public opinion research and media consulting company Wenzel Strategies. Khalid Sheikh MohammedNearly two out of three Americans expect another new terror attack to accompany the New York City court trials for detainees who are suspects in the 9/11 attacks in 2001, according to a new poll from Fritz Wenzel of Wenzel Strategies. "The fear of retribution from terrorists is very real all across America, the survey shows. Nearly two out of every three respondents – 61 percent – said they think it is likely that New York City will experience a terrorist attack, either before, during, or immediately after the terrorist trials," Wenzel said. "Just 28 percent said they thought it was unlikely that such an attack would occur. In a year that saw President Obama's job approval rating move from 69 percent positive the day after he took office to just 41 percent positive in this survey, this has got to be seen as one of the reasons. Obama has pursued an agenda that has been opposed by a majority of Americans since their announcement, and as he continues to push them through to fruition, the American public is responding with unprecedented negativity," he said. The WND/Wenzel telephone survey was conducted Dec. 18-21 using an automated telephone technology calling a random sampling of listed telephone numbers. The survey included 26 questions and carries a 95 percent confidence interval. It included 823 likely voters. It carries a margin of error of 3.4 percentage points. READ FULL STORY >

Questioning What Went Wrong ~ By Jennifer Rubin

Commentary from CommentaryMagazine.com
By Jennifer Rubin 11.28.2009 - 8:00 AM Politico’s Arena section recently featured back-to-back questions for discussion. “Obama’s Charisma, Where Did He Leave It?” was followed by “Should Obama hit the reset button on the White House?” Well, that speaks volumes, huh? Like a Saturday Night Live skit, the questions depend on shared understandings that Obama isn’t who the liberal intelligentsia once thought he was and that his presidency isn’t doing so well. One of the ordinary folk who chimed in on the topic of charisma, reminded readers that not all of us thought Obama was so charismatic to begin with:
Lest you forget: millions of people, me included, never found Obama charismatic at all. Half the country, the truth to tell. I voted against a Democrat for the first time in over 40 years because of his candidacy – he always seemed to me exactly as he has turned out- a man who probably can take a test well, but has zero imagination, a man who thinks leading is telling people what he wants (though he sometimes doesn’t even do that), a man who constantly speaks ambiguously in order to always have an out.
But a great many people, ignoring the vapidity of Obama’s rhetoric about lowering the oceans and “we are the world,” did think s0 and were in full swoon. Now they no longer are. That includes a great many self-styled moderates and many members of the liberal media. The import is clear for the presidency: Obama is neither galvanizing the public opinion nor leading. His countless health-care speeches have done nothing to sway public opinion on ObamaCare. Even the rest of his agenda (e.g., cap-and-trade, card check) seems to be on permanent hold. His decisions on Guantanamo and KSM have been wildly unpopular. And on the world stage, the IOC, the mullahs, and the parties in the Middle East — well, just about everyone — are unmoved by Obama’s supposed mystique. READ FULL STORY >

Trying terrorists, or Bush-Cheney? ~ By Joseph Farah

From WorldNetDaily
"The Obama administration is more dangerous to America in many ways than any terrorist organization. What this cabal is doing to the country in stripping it of its most cherished values, its basic morality, its foundation on the rule of law, its liberties and its economy is more devastating than anything Mohammed and his zealots could have ever imagined."
By Joseph Farah Posted: November 19, 2009 ~ 1:00 am Eastern © 2009 Khalid Sheikh Mohammed has already had a trial and been convicted of orchestrating the 9/11 attacks on the U.S. that killed nearly 3,000. He should have been put to death by now. Instead, the Barack Obama administration is going to give him another trial – a civilian trial in New York City, of all places – where his defense team will be able to use all the gimmickry and technicalities available to American citizens trying to beat the rap. "Was our client read his Miranda rights?" they will ask. "How many times was he waterboarded?" "Was any of the evidence you are using against our clients obtained illegally?" They will attempt to turn the trial into a circus in which George W. Bush and Dick Cheney are actually accused of crimes – probably much to the satisfaction of the Obama administration, which views their actions in bringing this mass murderer to justice as illegal. Obama's attorney general, Eric Holder, already announced he would investigate whether CIA officers should be prosecuted for their interrogations of Mohammed and others. Maybe instead of prosecuting this monster, he might be called to testify on behalf of the defense. If I were in Mohammed's shoes, I certainly would. Once again, it goes to prove the point that the Obama administration doesn't view even the kind of monstrous terrorism that struck on 9/11 as anything but a criminal justice matter. Bowing to 'world opinion' ~ By Thomas Sowell

From WorldNetDaily
Thomas Sowell By Thomas Sowell Posted: November 17, 2009 ~ 1:00 am Eastern © 2009 In the string of amazing decisions made during the first year of the Obama administration, nothing seems more like sheer insanity than the decision to try foreign terrorists who have committed acts of war against the United States in federal court, as if they were American citizens accused of crimes. Terrorists are not even entitled to the protection of the Geneva Conventions, much less the Constitution of the United States. Terrorists have never observed, nor even claimed to have observed, the Geneva Conventions, nor are they among those covered by them. But over and above the utter inconsistency of what is being done is the utter recklessness it represents. The last time an attack on the World Trade Center was treated as a matter of domestic criminal justice was after a bomb was exploded there in 1993. Under the rules of American criminal law, the prosecution had to turn over all sorts of information to the defense – information that told the al-Qaida international terrorist network what we knew about them and how we knew it. This was nothing more and nothing less than giving away military secrets to an enemy in wartime – something for which people have been executed, as they should have been. Secrecy in warfare is a matter of life and death. Lives were risked and lost during World War II to prevent Nazi Germany from discovering that Britain had broken its supposedly unbreakable Enigma code and could read their military plans that were being radioed in that code. Sarah Palin: Obama Administration's Atrocious Decision

From Sarah Palin's Notes
By Sarah Palin November 13, 2009 at 3:39pm Horrible decision, absolutely horrible. It is devastating for so many of us to hear that the Obama Administration decided that the 9/11 terrorist mastermind, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, will be given a criminal trial in New York. This is an atrocious decision. Mohammed and his terrorist co-conspirators are responsible for the deaths of more than 3,000 Americans. Thousands of American families have suffered through the loss of loved ones because of the disgusting attacks launched against the United States, and now this trial venue adds insult to injury, in addition to compromising our efforts in the War on Terror. Heaven forbid our allies see this decision as a reason to become less likely to support our efforts in the future. [CLICK HERE TO READ MORE]

Waterboarding for fun and profit ~ By Doug Powers

How bad is waterboarding? So bad that some people have actually volunteered to have it performed on them? (However, these stunt waterboardings are often performed improperly and in an unsafe manner, clouding the whole debate and even endangering the volunteer.) Make sure that you watch the Mancow waterboarding video (also below) before you decide if waterboarding is real torture. read more | digg story
