The president's plan to stimulate poverty - By Jane Chastain

In the description on digg.com for this story, I wrote: "With the passage of the so-called economic stimulus bill designed by the Democrat-run Congress and promoted by President Obama, the perverse incentives that actually reward states for enrolling and keeping people on the public dole are baaack! But Barack Obama had praised the welfare reforms of 1996 during the election campaign. Go figure..." Another great digg user and friend, indygirl, submitted the same story, only from the other WND url, and she said it in a way I liked better than my description: "1965, L. Johnson initiated a welfare system that for many people became a way of life. Not until 1996, when a Rep[ublican] Congress forced President Clinton to change welfare reforms was a 60% drop in welfare caseloads seen. Obama praised these reforms during his campaign, but now he seems bent on trapping ignorant people into poverty and control." It was the part when indygirl wrote, "he seems bent on trapping ignorant people into poverty and control," that was the perfect follow-up to what I had stated above. Well, except for the fact that she submitted the story first... Please note: I'm the guilty one of submitting a duplicate story to digg.com. The reason I submitted it again is because many readers of WorldNetDaily have to choose between the worldnetdaily.com or the wnd.com urls. Many of the people that see the article at WorldNetDaily or WND go to the digg page directly from the article. I am providing the links to both of the digg pages dealing with this column by Jane Chastain below. read the column digg the story I submitted digg the story indygirl submitted
