George Washington: The Soldier Who Could Not Die ~ Video by Fortis Media

From the video description:
George Washington was known as “The Soldier Who Could Not Die” because of his entirely miraculous escapes from death all throughout his life.

He had horses shot out from under him, found many bullet holes in his coat yet remained unharmed, and was specifically targeted by many enemy sharpshooters who were unable to kill him.

America is great, in part, because it has never existed unto itself. All throughout our history, our nation has existed to bless others and fight for the liberty of those who were in no position to fight for themselves.

America is great because it was dedicated to the One True God from the moment of its founding, even before its founding.

This video will, I hope, make you proud to be an American.

Sincerely,

JJ

It is JJ McNown's conclusion to this video that I wanted to hear, over and over again! In the last minute or two, and I'm paraphrasing him, he tells us that we were born for a purpose, here in America for just such a time as this. And while we've been born here, at this time in America, we are a protected for a purpose. The Lord's purpose. You have been protected by the Divine Providence.

I ask you to watch this video all the way through, and share or retweet this with your friends. It might help to encourage somebody out there. You never know! Right? Just sayin'...

Obsession With Bible Prophecy: Devil Loves It ~ By Pastor Chuck Baldwin

Regardless of one’s private interpretation of prophecy, our duty as Christians is the same: we are to take care of business. We are to tend to our family business, our vocational business, our spiritual business, our community business, our national business, etc. Until He comes, we have a divine mandate to “take care of business.”

Premillennial. Postmillennial. Amillennial. Pre-tribulation. Mid-tribulation. Post-tribulation. Complete Rapture. Partial Rapture. No Rapture. Dispensationalist. Preterist. When it comes to our duty to “take care of business,” IT DOESN’T MATTER. We all have the same duty.

Unfortunately, the preoccupation and obsession with Bible prophecy has diverted people’s attention away from the business at hand. So many, many Christians have become so heavenly minded that they are no earthly good. And pastors and preachers are mostly to blame. They spiritualize everything to the point that they have rendered the scriptures of NO practical relevance whatsoever.
What Pastor Baldwin writes about in this column is something that I admittedly never before pondered on. At first, it seemed like an absurd subject for Chuck Baldwin to discuss. But, as I kept reading, it made more and more sense. It at least scored high enough on the plausibility scale for me to bring it out in the open to the readers here.

Most of all, it is very revealing about some of the Christians that say they can't vote for Donald Trump for whatever reasoning they come up with, even if it means allowing Hillary Clinton to win this election on November 8, 2016. It is also very frustrating.  Wow, I can only believe that is some very fuzzy reasoning, and may lead to the tyranny in America that only their worst concepts of End Times prophecies could imagine.

We need to turn our focus to one important point:  Hillary Clinton has "generally" included religious "zealots" in her "Basket of Deplorables"....

Obsession With Bible Prophecy: Devil Loves It
By Pastor Chuck Baldwin

August 18, 2016

Christians of all stripes and persuasions believe in the return of Christ, nuances of prophetic interpretation notwithstanding. Furthermore, personal interpretations of prophecy are NOT fundamental to our salvation or our service to God. One will find faithful and unfaithful believers at every point along the prophecy spectrum.

That said, after more than four decades of pastoring, it is my firm conviction that the obsession with Bible prophecy demonstrated by a host of professing Christians today is one of our country's BIGGEST problems. On the whole, obsession with prophecy either takes those obsessed completely out of the freedom fight or it actually puts them on the side of those who are trying to usurp our liberties.

These are the Times that Try Men’s Souls… Tyranny Like HELL… ~ By Jan Morgan

In 1776, Thomas Paine penned these words… In Valley Forge, George Washington shared them with his men.

You've probably seen the cycle of Freedom and Tyranny before. But, just in case you haven't, I found this at Templestream Blog to illustrate the point:
The cycle of political freedom and bondage

In the very year that the US became a sovereign country, 1776, a European historian named Alexander Fraser Tytler published "The Decline and Fall of the Athenian Republic." This book outlined the following:

"A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising them the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that a democracy always collapses over a loss of fiscal responsibility, always followed by a dictatorship. The average of the world's great civilizations before they decline has been 200 years. These nations have progressed in this sequence:

From bondage to spiritual faith,
From spiritual faith to great courage,
From courage to liberty,
From liberty to abundance,
From abundance to selfishness,
From selfishness to complacency,
From complacency to apathy,
From apathy to dependency,
From dependency back again to bondage."
Unfortunately, I'm afraid that we are facing the final phase of the cycle. It really isn't hard to see. You barely have to be paying any attention to see where we are heading. For this reason, I bring you this story that Jan Morgan posted. And what the historian Alexander Fraser Tytler published, "The Decline and Fall of the Athenian Republic," does not have to be our future. Just sayin'...

From JanMorganMedia.com

America as we know her, is in critical condition. The longer we allow the disease to spread, the struggle to save her becomes more intense, complicated, and bloody.

Now is the time when all Americans must make a choice. It is not a time for summer soldiers and sunshine Patriots. Liberty is under attack from every direction by multiple enemies. Citizens can no longer sit back and expect legislators to fix the damage. After all, those legislators are, for the most part, responsible for not fulfilling the responsibilities and mandates they promised.

Gingrich: The last 'not-Romney' standing ~ By Tom Tancredo

As a former college professor, did he lead a battle to curtail federal involvement in higher education? No. Energy policy? No – to this day he still supports ethanol subsides, has endorsed cap and trade, and did that awful video on global warming with Nancy Pelosi.

Video provided by Cardsplayer4life on Apr 17, 2008

So, now what?

Do we just watch the Republican Party split and implode?

Is the Tea Party really dead like the Mainstream Media, and even Fox News, is telling us?

Please tell me, Donald Trump isn't our only hope!

We can NOT afford to lose this election and see four MORE years of this Barack Hussein Obama nightmare!

We need a George Washington, and Newt ain't the guy. So, we need to find somebody to unite behind, don't we?

Can we? WILL WE?

YOU decide!  I'm just sayin'....

Gingrich: The last 'not-Romney' standing

I want to be perfectly clear: I have nothing against buying silver. In fact, I like silver. But don't tell me it's as good as gold.

Newt Gingrich is riding high in the polls as Herman Cain's support melts away. But what are we getting – gold, silver or brass?

Suddenly, Washington pundits and pollsters are selling Gingrich as the gold standard for "insurgent conservatism" in contrast to Romney's "cool pragmatism." But let's put aside for another day (say, Iowa on Jan. 10) the comparison of Gingrich to other candidates and just ask ourselves some basic questions. Is Newt Gingrich a conservative? Would he implement a conservative agenda as president?

The sad fact is, after a 30-plus year career in politics, we still don't know what we are getting with Gingrich because he has been all over the map – pardon me, all over the galaxy – in his policy proposals.

Gingrich's eclectic unpredictability does not mean he is not greatly to be preferred over a second term for Barack Hussein Obama. What it does mean is that Gingrich would likely have a hard time defeating Obama.

Hey, this Cato Institute is doing something! ~ By Pat Boone

Hmmm.... This was not an easy column to write an intro for. Thanks a lot, Pat, you made me have to think a little harder than usual. But that's okay, because I may have learned a few things in the process.

So, as Pat wrote about the Cato Institute, I was wondering, what was his purpose? That was my main question. Within his commentary, Pat reminds us of this important fact: "This train called America is our train, we own and run it, and the engineer is our employee – it's not the other way around!" And further, Pat tells us that the Cato Institute "is leading the fight against the explosion of government growth." Edward Crane, President and founder of the Cato Institution, says:

...we're hardly 'hunkered down' – or alone. In fact, I have never seen our side more energized and clear-eyed in its commitment to reclaim our liberties and our government from the statists and redistributionists who infest our nation's capital.
And, who is "our side"? The Tea Party Movement, "the still-large majority of Americans who revere the Constitution and abhor big, intrusive an oppressive government." Pat goes on to mention that "Cato literally exists to further the kind of awakening exemplified in the tea-party rallies and marches – and in raucous town-hall meetings politicians increasingly fear to hold."

So, there you go. That is what Pat's column was about. Cato Institute is helping to awake Americans, and sets the example for what you and I need to keep on doing, just like I am doing on this blog... and I'm not even a think tank! Just sayin'...

Our citizens by the millions are demonstrating a growing grass-roots resistance to regimentation and governance by coercion and connivance, and this is terribly upsetting to Rahm Emanuel. Hallelujah!

Are you as frustrated as I am about the constant deluge of bad news, revelations of corruption and negligence and overreaching in government, the growing impression that we're on an out-of-control course, like Ozzy Osbourne's "Crazy Train"?

Are you deeply concerned that an ultra-liberal, even leftist or socialist cabal in and around the White House is binding America with unpayable debt, unreasonable entitlements and unacceptable alterations in everything from education to health care to defense to energy supply? That the sacred Constitution is being shoved aside and misinterpreted by activist judges, from the bottom of the judicial system all the way up to the Supreme Court?

With the presidency and both houses of Congress under the thrall of people who proudly want to "fundamentally transform the United States of America," isn't it increasingly bothersome to you that you seem to have precious little to say about all this?

When up to 80 percent of polled Americans say they want to keep health care the way it has been – and our elected representatives, our "public servants," conspire openly to cram the unwanted policy into law and down our throats – doesn't that leave you wondering, as I have been, whatever happened to "We The People"?

Aside from the valiant media soldiers at Fox News, some talk-radio broadcasters and informative websites like this one, is there anybody doing anything to sound the alarms and apply the brakes on this runaway train?

Yes! Yes, there are some bodies, organizations, fellowships and activist think tanks confronting the engineer of this out-of-control administration train and alerting the passengers to get up and reassert control. This train called America is our train, we own and run it, and the engineer is our employee – it's not the other way around!

If we're going to change this destructive, ominous direction, we must be an aroused, informed, determined, organized … and even a sacrificing citizenry. Just being upset, and grousing and complaining, won't change anything.

In the late 1700s, aroused and persuasive patriots like Thomas Paine called effectively to our forefathers, spurring them to heroic action, which resulted in the formation of our republic. Samuel Adams led like-minded men to oppose oppression and even revolt against the armed oppressors, at great cost but greater victory. And you know, hopefully, about George Washington, Ben Franklin, John Adams and James Monroe.

After the dust settled and a new and vibrant nation was born, Thomas Jefferson warned, "Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty."

I want to shine a spotlight on one of the several patriotic groups that are performing today like these forefathers of ours did – the Cato Institute.

George Will said of the organization, "The Cato Institute is the foremost upholder of the idea of liberty in the nation."

Thankfully, there are other think tanks that might lay claim to that accolade, but Cato is at or near the top of the list. The University of Pennsylvania's index of "Global Go-To Think Tanks" ranks Cato fifth in the world. And a 2009 survey commissioned by Foreign Policy magazine of nearly 1,800 think tanks in America listed Cato among the top 10 overall and No. 1 in the category for "Top Think Tanks for Innovative Ideas."

Cato is a public-policy research organization, guided by the principles that animated the founders of this great nation. The distinguished University of Pennsylvania historian, Alan Kors, sees think tanks as a "market response to the intellectual conformity and stagnation in most American universities." In too, too many cases, our colleges are turning out mental robots, not truly educated, openminded and inquiring learners. But when confronted with incontrovertible facts and logical thought – many of these intelligent and potentially influential men and women can see the light.

The light of truth.

An alarm went off, loud and clear, when Barack Obama's chief of staff let slip the strategy behind the health-care power grab when he declared you should "never let a serious crisis go to waste. It's an opportunity to do things that you think you could not do before." Since then, in a shocking display of arrogance and cunning, this administration has created an unfathomable level of "crisis"-related spending that will create at least $1 trillion of deficits per year, for the next decade.

As Cato has revealed, "The total potential federal government support could reach up to $23.7 trillion," according to Neil Barofsky, the special inspector general for the TARP program. Do you think the liberal media are going to report this to us? How can a citizenry protect itself when it doesn't have the real facts?

Bloomberg News, an objective media source, stated last December, "The few remaining limited-government types are hunkered down at Washington's Cato Institute."

Bankrupting our posterity ~ By John Stossel

We're in big trouble folks... Or, should I say our children and grandchildren and future generations are going to be in a real bad situation? John Stossel explains the huge challenges and the lack of good solutions. We can't tax our way out, we can't borrow our way out, and we can't just print money without high inflation. So, now what?
Our forefathers would be appalled. After the American Revolution, when the new government was debating how to pay its bills, George Washington said this about a national debt: "We should avoid ungenerously throwing upon posterity ... the burden we ourselves ought to bear." Well, we sure are dumping my generation's debt onto posterity. I wish we had more politicians like George Washington.

Bernie Madoff took money from people who thought he'd invested it, gave some to others who thought it was a partial return on their earlier investments and kept much for himself. That's called a Ponzi scheme, and his $50 billion fraud was called the biggest ever. But it wasn't the biggest. Social Security and Medicare are much bigger ones.

These are trillion-dollar scams. Medicare has a $36 trillion unfunded liability. Social Security's is $8 trillion. There's no money to keep those promises.

But Congress isn't investigating this scam. Congress runs it. That FICA money you thought government had saved for your retirement is gone. There's nothing left but IOUs backed by nothing. Your money was spent not only on current retirees but on wars, welfare, corporate bailouts, earmarks and all the other stuff Congress wants. For years, this was possible because the FICA tax brought in surpluses that allowed government to pay retirees more than they contributed and still help buy those other things.

Those days are gone. The huge group of baby boomers has started to retire, and that means trouble. In 2008, for the first time, Medicare paid out more than it took in.

So instead of filling the government's coffers and hiding the real size of the budget deficit, the entitlement programs have now begun to drain the treasury. Part of the "problem" is that we live longer. When Social Security started, most people didn't live to 65. Now we average 78.

This means that baby boomers like me who expect to collect Social Security and Medicare are basically stealing from children.

Think of the burden: When I was a kid, there were five workers for every retired person. Now, there are only three. And soon there will only be two young workers to fund each baby boomer's Social Security and Medicare checks.

Don't mess with Texas … textbooks! ~ By Chuck Norris

Chuck Norris writes about the Texas State Board of Education and their 11-4 decision to go with the draft of text book curriculum that doesn't change history.

Before you start reading, here is a video that will give you a little additional background regarding this debate:

Video provided by TheREALjohnny2k
Our right to liberty includes our right to educate our children as we, not the government, prefer. Indeed, our founders would be appalled if we surrendered this right, which they took for granted in their own time.

It's a travesty that we have even come to this point that we have to protect our children from the public-school systems, by policing their policies, testing their textbooks and combating their biases to education. But such is the sign of our times.

My personal warning to educational tyranny and tyrants is this: best not to test or mess with Texas. If you thought we fought hard for the Alamo, wait until you see what we can do for the right to educate our children. You can hide behind your No. 2 pencils, but our branding irons will find your tail sides.

By now, you most likely know that Texas has become ground zero for the latest battles in the textbook wars. While conservatives and progressives take their stands on the issue, I wondered, what would America's founders think about this feud?

For those who have somehow dodged the news, the 15-member Texas State Board of Education, or SBOE, has been hearing and debating variances of opinion regarding what to include and exclude in the social studies curriculum and subsequent textbook. Not surprising is the full range of progressive issues that liberals want the SBOE to include: from emphasizing equity and tolerance for all minorities to erasing key conservative figures and events from history and whitewashing the Judeo-Christian convictions of our founders.

Though not a perfect system, the Texas curricula decision-making process is actually quite sound and fairly representative of the 24 million Texans and 4.5 million students. It all begins by the input of literally hundreds of teachers who write the first set of standards. They are overseen and report to 15 elected state board of education members who appoint six expert reviewers. These six experts review all that the teachers have recommended, then give all their findings and suggestions to the 15 SBOE members, who, in turn, review all the presentations, listen to hundreds of hours of more testimony, then rule on a proposed draft as the state curriculum.

On Friday, the SBOE members began to wrap up the process by endorsing a draft proposal of the state's social studies curriculum with a 11-4 vote. A copy of the curriculum will be posted online for a month so citizens can comment, and then the SBOE will meet in May for more debate and a final vote. Again unsurprising, the four dissenting voices claimed that the proposed standards water down the contribution of minorities to American history and culture.

The reason every American should be concerned about this issue is because the Lone Star State is the No. 1 purchaser of textbooks in the country and even the world. And Texas textbooks are used in 47 of the 50 states – more than 90 percent of America's textbooks are based on Texas' curriculum.

I'm proud that Texas (along with only Alaska) opted out of the federal curriculum standard mandates, as the 10th Amendment to the Constitution prescribes for us. Texas refused to participate in order to keep control of what is taught at our public schools. We certainly don't need the federal government's help raising or educating our kids. That is what has allowed us to be independent and autonomous over our curriculum. For example, while federal courts have banned educational options like intelligent design in biology, many who are involved in the curricula decision-making process in the Lone Star State believe there is a place for it somewhere in academia, if even in classes on government. If God were good enough for our founders and Creator-language important enough to be in pivotal documents like the Declaration of Independence, then why can't our kids be educated about that Creator from at least their original documents?

Happy 1st birthday tea-party movement ~ By Chuck Norris

This great column by Chuck Norris should not only be read, but you should definitely pass it on! Email it! Twitter it! Shout it from your roof top (but not if there's snow on your roof)!

There's a host of reasons why America has forgotten it's roots. One of the major reasons is that America's foundations is not taught in public schools like it should be. I'm sure there is a reason for why it isn't. Could it be that it's because progressives control public education in the United States?

America's greatest problem is that we have forgotten our roots. Too many of us don't know or don't feel connected to those who founded our country.

It's still difficult to believe that last week President Obama actually celebrated Feb. 17 as the first anniversary of his stimulus plan (a.k.a. American Recovery and Reinvestment Act), in which Washington borrowed $862 billion on American taxpayers' credit. Celebrate the piling of $1 trillion on the backs of our posterity? Call me clueless, but I've never considered easing present circumstances by going into massive amounts of debt as an answer to anyone's economic recovery and longevity.

But I bet there's one date the president definitely won't be celebrating: this Saturday, Feb. 27, which marks the first anniversary (or first birthday) of the tea-party movement.

To think, last year at this time, the mainstream media and Washington politicians were either completely overlooking them or labeling those patriot gatherings as extreme and wacky fringe resistances. WorldNetDaily was virtually alone in reporting the tea parties as a legitimate patriotic movement, like the original 1773 protest in Boston Harbor.

Today, just one year later, tea-party patriots have proven themselves as a collective and formidable force and foe against big government power and corruption. Even according to the latest CBS News/New York Times poll, roughly one in five adult Americans identifies with the tea-party movement.

Tea-party patriots cross all partisan lines. What unifies us is our fundamental belief that what America's founders established was good and right, that we've largely abandoned their vision, and the only recourse to reawaken America is to return to their principles and values. But that is easier said than done, as progressives have worked double-time to discredit and undermine them and the very pillars of their republic.

A few years back, an editor at the New York Times wrote, "The Founding Fathers were paranoid hypocrites and ungrateful malcontents." He's not alone. Many liberals in media and higher education share his sentiments, labeling our Founding Fathers as racists, bigots, chauvinists and charlatans, among other things. This is not only ungrateful – it's wrong. It's their contributions, not their character flaws, that we should be highlighting. As Samuel Adams said in 1771, "Let us first see it prov'd that they were mistakes. 'Till then we must hold ourselves obliged to them for sentiments transmitted to us so worthy of their character, and so important to our security."

Thomas G. West, professor of politics at the University of Dallas, rightly acknowledged our founders' worth in his excellent book "Vindicating the Founders" by pointing out that they "set up a government that did what no democracy had ever done before: It combined majority rule with effective protection for minority rights. It enabled a larger number of men and women to live in prosperity and liberty than any other nation has ever done."

Of course, the founders weren't perfect, but they were far better than what leftist professors and progressives make them out to be. We know that most of the founders regarded slavery as a wrong that would have to be addressed. They knew that equal rights applied to all: men, women and children – slave and free. They did not achieve all they wanted, but what they did achieve was miraculous. That miracle is our heritage. As Joseph Ellis stated in his narrative masterpiece, "Founding Brothers," the Constitutional Convention should be called "the miracle of Philadelphia…"

America's Founding Fathers gave us the framework and foundations to experience freedom and liberty for all. But we can't do that unless we know who they were, what they stood for and what they achieved. To restore America, we need to reclaim our past and learn from it. It is only by turning back and examining the past that we can reawaken or (if you will) reboot our country.

Obama and FDR: Birds of a feather ~ By Burt Prelutsky

Commentary from WorldNetDaily
"Obama, who not only shares FDR's addiction to cigarettes, but his hunger for power and his determination to radically transform America, is, I believe, the greatest threat that has ever faced our nation."
Burt prelutsky By Burt Prelutsky Posted: January 29, 2010 ~ 1:00 am Eastern © 2010 The way the axis of evil – otherwise known as Obama, Pelosi and Reid – are trashing the Constitution, you’d think it was parchment toilet paper. That’s why I would give anything to see the likes of Washington, Jefferson, Adams, Madison and Franklin, come back to life and treat the liberal rabble the way that American patriots once dealt with English tea. If the Founding Fathers were to make a return appearance and see what has become of their noble experiment, they would have reason to regret all the time, blood, sweat and tears they expended wrangling over the wording of that sacred document. This isn't the first time that a president with a dictatorial bent has tried to ignore the Constitution. Most notably, in the 1930s, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, aided and abetted by his own versions of David Axelrod, Van Jones, Andy Stern and Cass Sunstein, tried to transform America's economy from free-market capitalism to Soviet-style socialism. Because, like Barack Hussein Obama, FDR had a lap dog Congress, willing and eager to rubber-stamp his loony left-wing agenda, the only thing holding him back was the Supreme Court. But, instead of accepting limitations on his authority, FDR responded by attempting to pack the Court. His plan was to raise the number of justices from nine to 14. He figured that if he could personally select five additional justices, it would ensure his controlling all three branches of the federal government. READ FULL STORY >

1st Amendment in the Age of Obama ~ By Ellis Washington

From WorldNetDaily
Ellis Washington By Ellis Washington Posted: October 24, 2009 ~ 1:00 am Eastern © 2009
Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other. ~ John Adams
The opening five words of the First Amendment, "Congress shall make no law," represents the central tenets of what the Bill of Rights stands for: limits on government power to limit or compel religious beliefs, the right to hold political opinions and express them, protections for a free press, the right to assemble peaceably, and the right to petition the government, through protest or the ballot, for a redress of political grievances. Let's take a look at how the First Amendment is viciously and relentlessly attacked in the Age of Obama:
  • Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;
George Washington, perhaps the greatest figure of American history, once said, "It is impossible to rightly govern a nation without God and the Bible." John Adams, our second president said, "Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other." Religion to the framers of the Constitution, not just any religion, but religion out of the Judeo-Christian traditions of intellectual thought, was indispensable to the success of America as well as to the continuing survival of our republic. If Christianity is so important, why did Congress allow the Supreme Court, in the 1947 case of "Everson v. Board of Education," to unilaterally remove funding to parochial schools through the judge-created doctrine "separation of church and state"? Such judicial tyranny as Everson over the past 62 years has denigrated American society and culture more than anything else. [CLICK HERE TO READ MORE]

God and guns, Part 2 ~ By Chuck Norris

From WorldNetDaily
Chuck NorrisBy Chuck Norris Posted: October 19, 2009 ~ 1:00 am Eastern © 2009 Despite atheists' attempts to keep our national motto ("In God We Trust") from being engraved on the walls of the new 580,000 square-foot Capitol Visitors Center, or CVC, the inscription was indelibly etched recently in large, bold and deep letters. And the Pledge of Allegiance will soon follow. As Rep. Randy Forbes, R-Va., noted, "This was accomplished due to the efforts of so many individuals in Congress and across the country who were willing to stand up on behalf of our nation's religious heritage. Thousands of visitors will walk through the center each day. The efforts of the individuals that have joined in this issue have enabled those visitors to experience a more accurate depiction of our nation's heritage written in stone." It's about time that good news came out of Washington. But this shouldn't be shocking news or even a contested matter. For the very words of the national motto are inscribed on our currency. They are even etched above the rostrum of the speaker's head in the House of Representatives. Only in our modern age have skeptics and secular progressives fought God in America. Religious inscriptions on Washington's other buildings testify to yesteryear's commitment to our Judeo-Christian heritage. Take, for example, that in front of the Ronald Reagan Building is a statue titled "Liberty of Worship," which is resting on the Ten Commandments. On the aluminum capstone at the very top of the Washington Monument are the chiseled words, "Laus Deo" (Latin for "Praise be to God"). As Rep. Louie Gohmert, R-Texas, reminded his colleagues, the Washington Monument displays the words "Praise be to God" on the east side that faces the Capitol. He elaborated, "every day when the first rays of God's sun hit the very first thing in this Nation's Capitol," those words are illuminated. A statue of Moses holding the Ten Commandments is in the rotunda of the Library of Congress. In addition to the words "In God We Trust" within the chamber of the U.S. House of Representatives, a marble bas-relief of Moses is the central and only frontal depiction of 23 reliefs of great historical lawgivers which surround the walls of the chamber and all look in Moses' direction. Is it just a coincidence that Moses is the central figure and the only one looking down on Congress? A stained glass window in the chapel of the U.S. Capitol depicts George Washington with the words of Psalm 16:1 written out around him and the words "This Nation Under God" above his head. The Ten Commandments are also displayed on the floor of the National Archives, just 100 feet or so in front of the original copies of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution? The prayer of President John Adams, the first president to occupy the White house, was inscribed on the mantel in the State Dining Room: "I pray to heaven to bestow the best of blessings on this house and all that hereafter inhabit it. … May none but the honest and wise men ever rule under this roof." The secret weapon in America's revolution ~ By Chuck Norris

From WorldNetDaily
Chuck Norris By Chuck Norris Posted: September 28, 2009 ~ 1:00 am Eastern © 2009 On Sept. 28, 1781, Gen. George Washington led a combined force of 17,000 French and Continental troops upon Yorktown (Virginia) and encircled British Gen. Lord Cornwallis and his regiment of 9,000 British troops. Washington bombarded Cornwallis and crew day and night for three weeks with artillery and cannon fire, until Cornwallis surrendered on Oct. 17, 1781. Negotiations for peace began in 1782, with the Treaty of Paris being eventually signed on Sept. 3, 1783, formally ending the eight years of war and securing America's independence. The key to victory at Yorktown came when, at the mouth of the Chesapeake, the French navy helped to corner Cornwallis and his crew from fleeing by sea, while Marquis de Lafayette, who under Washington led 5,000 American soldiers, blocked Cornwallis' escape by land. Lafayette was only 23 years old at the time. Lafayette was only 16 years old when he joined the Black Musketeers back in France, an elite unit of royal troops that rode black horses. He started fighting in the Revolution in 1777 at only 19, at which time Congress gave him the rank of major general. Two months after the British surrender at Yorktown, Lafayette returned home as a "hero of two worlds." Marquis de Lafayette was one of Gen. George Washington's secret weapons in the American Revolution. Youth are often the key to victory in many revolutions. That's because people often underestimate their potential or perceived contributions. I believe young people will play a critical role in reawakening and returning America again to its founders' vision, ways and principles. It's amazing for us today to think about how much a young Lafayette sacrificed and accomplished for our country as well as his own. We are still inspired by his example of youthful courage and heroism. Many adults would say that type of valor rarely exists anymore. But as I meet and hear from young Americans here and around the world, I beg to differ. Though our society often denigrates the teen years and expects very little from our young people, I believe there exists a latent power in this particular generation that waits to be awakened and reveal its full potential. If we're going to win America's culture wars, we need the younger generations to do it. There is no way around it. We need to reengage with our young people and plug them into America's glorious past so they can build a brighter future. I'm not talking about selling them on a partisan platform but a patriot one (like our founders had). I'm convinced that this is why Ron Paul's candidacy for president grew into a mighty grassroots swell – it tapped into the technologically and socially based Millennials, who possess a strong anti-imperialism and lets-take-care-of-home mentality and passion. Washington, Clinton, Obama … and truth ~ By Pat Boone

By Pat Boone Posted: June 20, 2009 1:00 am Eastern © 2009 I doubt it's ever taught in school today – seems the NEA has different ideas about what our kids need to know. But most adults over 40 surely are familiar with the story told of young George Washington, who'd been given a small hatchet for his birthday. So, eager to try it out, the boy looked for something on which he could use his new hatchet. And he found it – a little cherry tree. When his father found that a perfectly good cherry tree had been destroyed, he asked George if he knew what had happened. "Father, I cannot tell a lie," said the future first president of the United States of America, "I did it." An insignificant story, perhaps, just a little morality tale for kids. No one today can verify whether it actually happened or not. I, for one, believe it did, mainly because of its apparent insignificance. If there weren't in fact a basis for the story, who would make it up? Surely a fableist would conjure up something more dramatic than a little boy cutting down a cherry tree with his new hatchet. But what makes it significant is that it underscores, from a very early age, the character of the man who became our first president – and a role model for all who would follow him into that office. Throughout his distinguished military career, his political leadership and his virtually unanimously elected two terms as president of the United States, his honesty was never questioned. In fact, his admiring friend Thomas Jefferson wrote about George Washington: "His integrity was the most pure, his justice the most inflexible I have ever known. He was, in every sense of the word, a wise, a good, and a great man." Is it any wonder, then, that for nearly 200 years, parents and teachers have pointed to the man we call "the father of our country" as an example for our kids to emulate? That, too, makes the story of the apple tree meaningful and important; children from their earliest years can understand the moral and learn a valuable lesson. [CONTINUE READING]

Common Sense Revisted

By James Cox for Corey Morrow There is a new freedom pamphlet sweeping across America. It has been featured by Ron Paul’s Campaign for Liberty, Restore the Republic and Republic Magazine, Freedom Law School, and many other liberty organizations. I am pleased to announce my support for this new pamphlet and wish to share it with you. In January 1776, it seemed unlikely that the 13 American colonies would declare independence from England. Even as George Washington was leading the Colonial Army against the British in Boston, most of the delegates wanted to patch things up with King George. The advocates of Freedom, led by John Adams, asked for a non-binding survey to see where they stood. The results were disheartening. Less than a third voted to declare independence. What happened between January and July that led to our Declaration of Independence? COMMON SENSE, written by Thomas Paine, was published late in the month of January. It presented arguments to refute the divine birthright of kings. Paine made the case for individual sovereignty, declaring all powers of government are derived from the individuals that created the government. The first printing of 50,000 copies sold out in one day. The second printing also sold out in one day. An estimated 500,000 copies were printed and circulated over the next few months. At the time, the population of the colonies was only 3 million. The vast majority of the population had read Paine’s pamphlet. [Continue reading]

GOP needs George Washingtons, not Arlen Specters

Star Parker compares Arlen Specter with George Washington. Specter is the ultimate "self-serving egotist that stands for nothing other than the pursuit of personal political power and having the federal government as his sandbox to play in." Washington "knew that America fought to throw off the yoke of kings and the capricious use of power." read more | digg story

Rothschild Agents Take 10 Key Posts In Obama Administration

Top: Rice, McFaul, Kagan, Slaughter, and Wolin Bottom: Emanuel, Summers, Orszag, Rouse, and Sutphen
"Six former Rhodes Scholars (educated at Oxford University in Britain) and four others associated with the London School of Economics are serving in key posts in the Obama administration. That's not good." By Michael Collins Piper American Free Press 02-21-2009 Our greatest founding father and first president, George Washington, probably wouldn't be ready to celebrate his birthday on Feb. 22 if he were alive today. Having led the 13 colonies to independence from the British Empire in 1783, following the course of a difficult eight-year struggle by those freedom-loving American colonists who followed him, Washington (who lived from 1732 to 1799) would most assuredly be appalled to see that the liberties achieved from the American Revolution are now being flagrantly defied by a number of figures who populate the upper ranks of the administration of Barack Obama. Six former Rhodes Scholars (educated at Oxford University in Britain) and four others associated with the London School of Economics are serving in key posts in the Obama administration. That's not good. Here are 10 of the key "British"-that is, Rothschild -operatives now ensconced in the Obama administration (more can be expected): Susan Rice - ambassador to the UN; Michael McFaul - head of the Russian desk at the National Security Council; Elena Kagan - solicitor general of the United States; Anne-Marie Slaughter - State Department policy planning staff; Neal S.Wolin - deputy counsel to the president for economic policy; Ezekial Emanuel - senior counselor at the White House Office of Management and Budget on health care policy; Lawrence Summers - head of the National Economic Council; Peter Orszag - director of the Office of Management and Budget; Peter Rouse - senior advisor to the president; Mona Sutphen - deputy chief of the White House staff. The truth about the Rhodes Scholarships is not known to the average American who is constantly told by the mass media that Rhodes Scholars (such as former President Bill Clinton) are among "the best and the brightest." Why we don't celebrate 'Historians Day' - by Ann Coulter

Being gracious winners, this week, liberals howled with delight at George Bush for coming in seventh-to-last in a historians' ranking of the presidents from best to worst. This was pretty shocking. Most liberals can't even name seven U.S. presidents. Whenever history professors rank you as one of the "worst", you were probably one of the best.

Obama's Reaganesque speech - By Patrick J. Buchanan

Buchanan is apparently oblivious to the wolf in sheep's clothing, as he should know by now that President Obama will say anything to fool the people. I am usually agreeing with Buchanan, but not in this case, and maybe never again. Obama obviously threw in the parts that Buchanan liked, but that was because he isn't talking just to his minions now.

Mount Rushmore

Set within the Black Hills in the state of South Dakota is one of the most famous landmarks in the U.S.A., the Mount Rushmore National Memorial: four monumental portraits of the most famous American presidents that have been carved into the granite and symbolize a kind of spectacular tribute to democracy. -- Until now.
