With the very first question being, "What is your biggest weakness?", and followed by even dumber questions meant to make the candidates look bad, Ted Cruz finally went off on the pseudo moderators. Nancy Pelosi claims two families of Benghazi victims don't want investigation ~ By Joe Newby

Pelosi did not say which family made the statements, but the Huffington Post said a family member from the maternal side of Tyrone Woods' family called the office of Rep. Louise Slaughter, D-N.Y., on Thursday to express support for her position on the new committee. Slaughter, the Huffington Post said, opposes the new committee, saying additional investigation is unnecessary. Woods, The Blaze noted, was a CIA contractor killed in the 2012 attack along with Ambassador Chris Stevens and two other Americans.

An unnamed Democratic aide reportedly said another family allegedly reached out to Democratic lawmakers. The family was not identified, however.

A post at the conservative blog Weasel Zippers demanded Pelosi prove her assertions. The blog also posted videos of Pat Smith, mother of slain foreign service officer Sean Smith and Charles Woods, Tyrone Woods' father. Both Smith and Woods were clear in their desire to get answers to questions regarding the attack. Woods, for example, called the select committee an "answer to prayer."

Joe Newby's blog post today helped to answer the question that I had asked in the description of the video above. What we learned in Joe's column is that we really do not know which families had called Nancy Pelosi (she did say, "two of the families called us") and what Nancy said in that news conference was very vague about that.  But, in the mean time, she ignores the fact that Sean Smith's mother Pat Smith, and Tyrone Woods' father Charles Woods, have both been very vocal on many occasions on Fox News Network about wanting to know the answers to their many questions. What about them?

And then there is the fact that many of the folks that were on the ground in Benghazi during the September 11, 2012 terrorist attack in Benghazi have not been allowed to testify to this point. What about them? Were those people that were there not wanting to come forward, or were they intimidated into silence in one way or another? Wouldn't it be interesting to find out how the Obama administration, and Hillary's minions at the State Dept. were able to keep them from talking to the various committees investigating the Benghazi terror attack over the last 20 months? With the Select Committee, there is now the possibility to have their testimonies entered into the public record, something that Congress has been unable to accomplish up to this point.

So, of course, Nancy Pelosi and other liberals are trying to disparage the Benghazi Select Committee, as the truth will most likely be very damaging to the Democrats in 2014, and Hillary in 2016, but that's just my humble, but extremely well thought out, opinion. Just sayin'...

During her weekly press conference, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., claimed that two of the families of those killed in the 2012 terror attack in Benghazi oppose the select committee set up by Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, The Blaze reported Saturday. She also attacked Rep. Darrell Issa, calling him "damaged goods," and dismissed the probe as a political stunt.

“Two of their families have called us and said, ‘Please don’t take us down this path again,’” Pelosi said. “It’s really hard for them. It’s very sad.”

“This is a stunt,” Pelosi added. "This is a political stunt."

“Issa is damaged goods," she continued. "They had to move to another venue with another chairman.”

Bang, bang. You're dead ~ By Barbara Simpson

And now in the case of Ivan Lopez, the question is asked again: How could a single armed person wreak such havoc on a state-of-the-art military base?

The answer is simple yet bizarre.

Our military men and woman are denied the right to carry guns on the base.

Never mind that they’re trained, that they took an oath to defend the Constitution, that we send them into battle to use loaded weapons.

On a U.S. military base on U.S. soil, we disarm them.

Is it any wonder that someone with the urge to take some sort of perverted revenge against this country will take advantage of that situation?

In Barbara's column, she correctly opines that it seems "Obama and the rest of them believe if we disarm, the bad guys – of whatever persuasion – will leave us alone." Of course, the bad guys don't work that way, really. They are always going to attack the softest targets, such as anywhere there are gun free zones like schools and universities, churches, malls, movie theatres, or businesses. It is just the half-baked liberal logic on display, and it always fails.

To further illustrate this opinion which I share with Barbara Simpson, I'll allow Mike Huckabee's commentary in the video below to get the point across much better than I can.

"This administration has the goal of reducing, if not eliminating entirely, our nuclear weapon capability." That will make the bad guys like us, right? Probably not quite so much. Just sayin'...

Last Sunday, after my KSFO radio program, I saw a short report on the Internet that authorities were on the alert concerning an Army soldier who might be involved in an expected attack at Fort Hood, in Texas.

Fort Hood, again. It was the scene in 2009 of the largest attack on a domestic American military installation.

It was carnage committed with intent by a Maj. Nidal Hasan, an Army psychiatrist – a Muslim angry about our involvement in the war on terrorism.

He killed 13 and wounded 30. The attack ended when police shot him.

He was left paralyzed from the waist down, and it took much too long for his trial, which finally found him guilty. He’s on death row at Fort Leavenworth in Kansas.

Who knows when he’ll be executed?

Remember, Barack Obama never condemned the shooting rampage for what it clearly was: Islamic terrorism directed at our military and our country.

He didn’t do it at the time of the killings, during the trial or after. It’s a safe bet he never will.

I thought about that and decided I’d write my next WND column – this one – about Fort Hood, the almost forgotten massacre and the fact the convicted killer is still alive.

It's time for frankness, not civility ~ By Erik Rush

Before you begin reading Erik's column and my commentary, please understand that I had planned to post this column on Friday morning. However, I had an unexpected delay. There was a slight little problem. It wasn't just because it was Friday the 13th... (was it?) No, it was part of the downtime that Blogger experienced that began with service issues following their maintenance project on Thursday, May 12.

To put it simply, the ability to start or edit blog posts was not available during that time. I was unable to start working on this post for my entire work day on Friday because of the downtime. And then when everything started working again - finally - I had too many other distractions that prevented me from getting this post done.

Well, here it is, at last. Are you ready for this?

The clear and present danger, as it were, is the one represented by those who have been wholly taken in by the con men, rather than the power players themselves: Union members, certain minority groups, as well as a few fringe special interests. Like the Russian, Chinese and Cuban workers, these believe that their kind, wise benefactors will usher in a new "worker's paradise."

Well, I don't think that the majority of Americans will suffer such fools gladly, not in the long term. Nor is there anything in our Constitution that says they have to.

Back in March, Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan warned the president that "America will be bathed in blood" if Obama does not check his course, "because the American people are rising against their own government." And indeed, the civil war with which this administration is flirting would be far uglier than the last, because the battle lines will be drawn demographically, rather than geographically.

Yes, I am very aware that embedding a video like that above is very wrong. However, I only did it for symbolic purposes, to illustrate a point: Whatever conservatives say about President Barack Hussein Obama will be DEMONIZED!

For those of us that are going to follow Erik's advice, we're aware of what we'll be faced with. In the last column that I posted, Robert Ringer talked about the "normalcy bias." In my commentary on that column, I explained that when we tell people that Obama is Marxist, "I can see the facial expressions loudly portraying that they want to smack me in the head to get me back to reality. Eyebrows go up, eyes roll back."

Really? That's all that will happen? It really isn't. I failed to mention that to be up front with people, and let them know about Obama's evil agenda for this country, there could be detrimental affects on your social life, your career, and possibly even for you and your family's safety. It didn't really hit me until after I read this column by Erik the day after Robert's column came out. The pressure to keep you silent won't just come from government goons coming after you. They have other ways to "encourage" you to keep your mouth shut.

And then there is Mike Huckabee, who just announced that he won't be running for President. I think Mike understood that to win the election in 2012 would necessarily involve exposing Obama's evil socialist agenda. It wasn't in his heart. I'm just sayin'...

On May Day, Marxist-socialist pukes the world over held festivities commemorating International Workers' Day, the bastardization of what used to be a generic Spring holiday in many cultures, this being the first day of May. It may surprise the reader to know that the usurped version is celebrated in more than 80 countries at present.

This May 1, the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) co-sponsored a rally in Los Angeles, one many interpreted as part of the ongoing effort on the part of radicals to normalize communism and Marxist thought in America. Even well-intentioned, politically active liberals and independent voters still giggle at the inference of a communist infiltration in America – let alone one that has installed a Marxist government and affiliated organizations into power.

Yet, there is so much evidence in confirmation of this that I haven't the space to enumerate it here.

Over the last few days, conservative pundits have been up in arms over the sociopathic rapper Common being invited to the White House by first lady Michelle Obama for a so-called celebration of American poetry. While this ought not be surprising (since the Obamas are, ideologically, part of the gang that celebrated the foul-mouthed "poet" and 9/11 truther Amiri Baraka being named Poet Laureate of the state of New Jersey in 2002, forever neutralizing the significance of that honor), it is indicative of the first couple's willingness to sully every feature of the White House, physical and symbolic. It also illustrates the extent to which political correctness and leftist intimidation have come to influence nearly all Americans.

What I mean by this is that public outrage over any number of offenses committed by this administration engender whispers of discontent, when they should elicit roars of derision. One Fox News commentator habitually refers to the president as a "far-left guy," while another asks his guests if they think Barack Obama "might be" a socialist.

With what is at stake in this nation, we simply cannot afford the civility and decorum we would like to practice. This tendency of ours has been capitalized upon by the left, and it is but one more of the virtues they are turning against us. I have no problem whatever in stating that Common is a brainless, ghetto idiot, this being in part a pathetic affectation itself, since he was raised by professional, educated people.

The Dr. Zhivago Option ~ By Robert Ringer

I am going to start this one out a little differently today. I was 12 years old when I saw the movie, Dr. Zhivago, and I don't really remember much of the movie. I do have two distinct memories about it, though. One was that I had to sit by some old lady with horribly putrid perfume on, and had apparently used the whole bottle at once... Thank God there was an intermission so I could go out and get fresh air... I'll never forget that. It was an unfortunately memory I can't get out of my head. But the other memory was a good one. I loved the music!

I hadn't thought about this for awhile, but Robert reminded me that I have wanted to see Dr. Zhivago again someday. I am sure it will make a lot more sense to me now than it did when I was 12 years old. And now I really want to see it, being that what it is about to an extent parallels what this country could be going through someday soon. Just sayin'...

Worst of all, the Republican Party itself has a whole army of Viktor Komarovskys in its ranks, ready to support the Obamaviks at the drop of a vote. Names like Mitt Romney (the de facto architect of Obamacare), John McCain ("I was in favor of illegal immigration before I was against it."), Lindsey Graham (an unabashed hard-core progressive), Mike Huckabee (the slickest politician in America), Orrin Hatch (a deeply entrenched member of the go-along-to-get-along club) and Mitch McConnell (another deeply entrenched member of the same club) come quickly to mind.

These men have conclusively demonstrated that they are more than willing to support the progressives' notion of "social justice" if that's what it takes to get elected and re-elected. Their greatest threat comes from people with names like Bachmann, Ryan, DeMint, Rubio, and Paul & Paul.

Over the next five months, you can be sure that a lot of Republican blood will be spilled in the war between the Viktor Komarovskys of the Republican Party and those who refuse to go along with the business-as-usual Dr. Zhivago Option. And you can guess which side the socialists in the Democratic People's Party will be cheering for.

The other day, one of my son's friends, who had just come home from college for the summer, stopped over to say hello. We chatted briefly, and I asked him if he was still planning on becoming an entrepreneur/businessman after he graduated from school next spring.

To my surprise, he said that because of the economy, he had changed his mind about pursuing a business career. He told me that he now planned to apply for a job with the CIA. Surprised, I asked, "What in the world made you decide to go to work for the CIA?"

Without pause, he responded, "It's so tough to get a job nowadays that I figured I'd just go to work for the government, because there's much more security in a government job." I immediately thought to myself that standing right in front of me was a new Barack Obama voter!

It's simple: Get as many people as possible working for the government – which can always meet its payroll by taking money from entrepreneurs and small businesspeople who create private-sector jobs – and thereby assure winning a majority of votes in every election.

It reminded me of a conversation I had many years ago with a brilliant, ultra-pragmatic, narcissistic acquaintance who had a hugely successful economic consulting business. One day we were having a discussion about the United States' relentless move toward collectivism, and I asked him, "Given how you're addicted to the material things in life, what would you do if the United States ever became a full-fledged communist country?"

Without so much as a pause, he answered, in a matter-of-fact tone, "That wouldn't be a problem. I'd just become a member of the Communist Party and work my way into the inner circle." His response evoked a nervous chuckle from me, but the chuckle quickly faded as I realized he was deadly serious. His answer bothered me then, and it bothers me even more today.

The first thing that went through my mind after that conversation was the movie "Dr. Zhivago" and Rod Steiger's character, Viktor Komarovsky. Komarovsky was a member of Russia's elite class that dined on caviar and expensive vodka while the masses lived on the edge of starvation in abject poverty.

But when it became clear that the Bolshevik Revolution would succeed, Viktor Komarovsky simply cozied up to the revolutionary hierarchy and proclaimed himself to be a communist. He was well aware that revolutionary rhetoric was a fantasy, and that in every revolution, it's the toughest and wiliest thugs who emerge as the new royalty.

For the masses, of course, things stay pretty much the same, though under communism they usually end up even worse off than they were before the revolution (as was certainly the case in Russia following the Bolshevik Revolution).

Today, the Komarovsky mindset is a serious problem in the United States. I keep saying that Obama and Co. know they are going down to massive defeats if there are elections in 2010, but maybe I'm wrong. Perhaps I've underestimated their determination to get enough people on the government dole and government payroll to mathematically assure victory.

Jon Voight is a true champion of liberty. When he appeared on "Huckabee" last Saturday, it was a refreshing change from the usual cast of progressives and radicals whom Huckabee welcomes on board each week.

Voight is one of those rare celebrities who is not afraid to be specific in his criticisms of Barack Obama and his congressional allies. In his "Huckabee" appearance, he was clear and adamant in assuring the audience that the charges of hatred and racism against the tea-party people are completely without merit. He then read a letter he had written to "the people of America."

In one year, the American people are witnessing the greatest lie that is cleverly orchestrated by Barack Obama and his whole administration. The lie is a potent aggression that feeds the needs of people who either have not educated themselves enough to understand the assault upon us all, or the very poor and needy who live to be taken care of.

President Obama feeds these people poison, giving them the idea that they're entitled to take from the wealthier, who have lived and worked in a democracy that understands that capitalism is the only truth that keeps the nation healthy and fed.

Now, the lie goes very deep, and President Obama has been cleverly trained in the Alinsky method. And it would be very important that every American knows what that method is. It is a socialistic, Marxist teaching, and with it, little by little, he rapes this nation, taking down our defenses, making new language for the Islamic extremists. …

President Obama uses his aggression and arrogance for his own agenda against the will of the American people, when he should be using his will and aggression against our enemies.

In keeping with his ongoing efforts to stake claim to the title of the Progressives' Favorite Republican, Huckabee was quick to point out that where he disagrees with Voight is that he believes Barack Obama sincerely wants to do what is best for America. And, in a perverse sort of way, he's right. Obama sincerely believes that socialism – more likely, communism – is what is best for America.

But what else would you expect of a man who doesn't believe that the new health-care bill should be repealed and recently welcomed Michelle Obama as his featured guest, gushing all over her while the two of them pretended as though her passion in life is to fight childhood obesity. The only passion Michelle Obama has with children is to indoctrinate them into thinking like good little socialists who will look to an all-powerful central government to take care of them.

So much for Huckabee … now let's segue to Monday and "The O'Reilly Factor," which is always a good bet if you're in a masochistic mood. With great interest, I watched O'Reilly's interview of Mitt Romney. Once again, Romney tried to defend Romneycare in Massachusetts, the forerunner of the totalitarian-implemented, economy-crushing Obamacare. I was truly embarrassed for the man.

Don't get me wrong. Romney is not Mike Huckabee, who dreams of pulling together a coalition of evangelicals, disenchanted Democrats and liberal-leaning independents as a way to sneak into the White House. Romney is basically a good man with a great deal of business acumen. And, by today's standards, I guess you could call him a capitalist – meaning that he is a philosophically confused capitalist.

Former "Saturday Night Live" star Victoria Jackson has released a YouTube video that is on the verge of going viral that warns the American public, "There's a communist living in the White House."

Her song begins:

It seems these days I'm in a haze

And I can't concentrate on things.

Can't eat or sleep, feel incomplete

Feel kind of scared and creepy.

I look over my shoulder lots

And shudder when I watch TV.

I bite my nails and cuticles

And watch my words very carefully.

I bite my lip a lot and fidget with the buttons on my blouse

Why? Because there's a communist living in the White House

She explains no one but Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity and "Huckabee" as well as "those sweet people who drink tea" understand.

"Evidence?" she wonders. "Where do you want me to start?"

She cites the socialist leanings of President Obama's grandparents, communist leanings of his mother, the Marxist professors he had in college and his own links to the teachings of Saul Alinsky while related news clips – some from WND – flash on the screen.

"He told Joe the Plumber, 'Spread the wealth,' which is a direct quote from the Communist Manifesto," she continues. Then in office, Obama appointed Van Jones and took over the banking and car industries.

"How much more proof do you want?"

American heroes could get swapped for hip-hop culture in textbooks

A state board of only 15 people will vote on whether to revise U.S. textbooks to omit references to Daniel Boone, Gen. George Patton, Nathan Hale, Columbus Day and Christmas.

The Texas State Board of Education will also vote on a proposal to substitute the term "American" with "global citizen."

Mathew Staver, founder and chairman of Liberty Counsel, is warning Americans to speak up before only eight people, with a majority vote, have a chance to literally rewrite American history.

He appeared on the "Huckabee Show" to explain why the board's vote matters to the rest of America. Staver said Texas and California are the two largest textbook purchasers in the nation.

"Whatever textbooks they select affect the rest of the country because publishers publish those kinds of books, and the rest of the country follows," he said.

But because of California's budget crisis, the state hasn't been able to purchase as many new textbooks, he explained. So the default is Texas.

"So when this 15-member board – eight people of that will make a majority – make a decision, it will affect the entire nation," Staver said.

Those eight people could decide what children will learn in various other parts of the country.

The nail in the coffin is the revelation that as governor of Arkansas, Huckabee commuted the sentence of serial felon Maurice Clemmons, who recently gunned down four police officers in cold blood in Washington state. Clemmons is not the first future murderer to be let go by Huckabee. In 1998, he let loose convicted rapist Wayne DuMond, who went on to murder Carol Sue Shields. In his tenure as Arkansas governor, Huckabee helped free 1,033 criminals. His three successors combined freed less than half that number. Huckabee responded to the Clemmons murders by blaming prosecutors, the parole board and other officials. He made irrelevant quibbles about how he did not technically pardon Clemmons but rather commuted his sentence to make him eligible for parole. But no matter how he wants to spin it, had he not intervened on Clemmons' behalf, four brave police officers would be alive today. Voters do not look very kindly on politicians who are soft on murderers and rapists. Many commentators make the obvious comparison of Huckabee and Clemmons to Michael Dukakis and Willie Horton. As governor of Massachusetts, Dukakis heavily promoted the weekend furlough program that allowed convicted murderer Horton out on the weekends. While on furlough, he brutally raped and assaulted a woman. During the 1988 presidential campaign, Al Gore (who ran in the Democratic primary) and then George Bush Sr. used Horton to showcase Dukakis' soft-on-crime approach, with great success. But it might be more useful to contrast Huckabee's record on law and order to the 1992 Democratic nominee for president, his fellow Arkansas governor, slick Willie Clinton. After learning how unpopular Dukakis' position on crime was, Clinton prominently flew back to Arkansas during the campaign to sign the death warrant of Ricky Ray Rector. For the last several weeks, I had been posting this series in my other blog, johnny2k's Blogging In Our Time 2 Escape. I decided to go back to putting it on this blog, as I had originally done, for a couple of reasons. This blog is where I post my own work, and I guess the videos I upload to youtube is part of my work. And secondly, I had not written much lately, and there needed to be some more content to be keeping johnny2k Is Home a bit more active, if you know what I mean. The other thing you may have noticed... or, maybe not, is that none of videos below has to do with the "Falcon, the balloon boy hoax" that dominated the news the latter part of last week. As far as I am concerned, and figuring out what a hoax it seemed to be shortly after the whole scenario began to unfold, dominating all of the cable news channels, it was nothing short of tabloid fodder, or maybe something that Geraldo Rivera or Greta Van Sustrand may be interested in analyzing for the next few weeks. Anyway, nothing about it had youtube video written on it. It just wasn't a story that needed any further moments of attention for the derelict parents of the 6 year old child that played a role in a gigantic media scam. No further elaboration required. What I did get on video this week had a lot to do with Glenn Beck, the White House and Anita Dunn. I think you are going to love this week's videos. Not only that, but I also want you to see a couple of my "Favorites" that I came across since last Sunday. The very first video that you'll see below has set the general theme for this last week: We the People want to be heard, the government needs to listen to us, and we aren't going to take it too well when the government wants to silence us when we dissent. Just remember, WE ARE THE MOB! Now get to work, there's a lot to read and watch below! September 20, 2009 - Senator, you've been tweeted. Are you listening? This isn't like the old days, Senator. There is the internet, and now, the social media such as twitter, facebook, myspace, digg, blogs, and anywhere else the word gets out. You can no longer depend on the local newspapers to discern which stories actually make it to print. And, oh gosh, the newspapers aren't doing all that well, either. The "Sheople" are opening up to the internet, and they find out things that may not have been easy for them to find out before. It must have been a coincidence this morning. First, there was the story about the Senators that voted against defunding the corrupt ACORN. Next thing you know, here comes a story about you, Senator, thinking that using twitter would be a way to be able to communicate with your constituents. True, it is, if you were willing to use it that way. But, no, instead, it's a one-way communication; a monologue rather than a dialog. But I understand. Even with just over 500 followers on my twitter account, there is no way I can respond to ALL of them. However, Senator, it should not be all that difficult to learn that you can communicate with a few of us out here in the state that you represent, and that can make a difference. Do not allow yourself to be like the Senators mentioned in the video (I won't mention any names, but you know who you are). Just do some work as our representative, and use your resources to make sure that your constituents KNOW that you are thinking about them. Do you hear me now, Senator? And, by the way, if I could have your ear for a few moments, I'm sure that there are things that I can point out to you that you may want to know what the "sheople" want. And guess what, WE are the MOB, and we want to be heard. Do you hear us now? September 21, 2009 - I'll just call this "OBAMACORN" Unless you were born yesterday and fell off the turnip truck just this morning, you shouldn't need any additional commentary to see what is going on. This isn't even just the tip of the iceberg. The corruption in this administration is rampant. And ACORN is the proof in the pudding. Thank God for the O'Keefe & Giles expose. It opened up the story beyond all belief. It proved Glenn Beck to be correct in all that he had been talking about. However, now and then I get to see and record the show in real time. Today was one of those days I had that opportunity. The amount of information that I was able to consume was just out of this world, and I was so happy to be able to record it all. But there was this particular part of the first segment that really says it all. I had to bring this to you in the one chunk that explains what we are up against. I'm taking no chances. You're not allowed to tell the old folks! A gag order from the U.S. Government, telling Humana that they will be fined if they continue to inform their mailing list of what is going on with ALL of the health care bills when it comes to their health care? As far as Obama's minions are concerned, the older people should not become aware of what their plans will do to Medicare, particularly Medicare Advantage... It is bad enough what is being done to those programs, and it is going to be a huge catastrophe to the health care of those that are no longer able to work. But the real shame is that discussion of the subject was silenced by the government. For obvious reasons, we must not tell others about this video, either. They may come down on us, too, should we openly talk about this subject here online... Every time you see these people protesting, it is usually violent. Mike Huckabee connected them to groups that actually pay "organizers" to show up at these protests; they are professional protesters. But in the meantime, the Democrats - those on the left - are calling the tea parties, town hall meeting attendees, and the 9/12 rally in Washington, D.C., "astroturf," a manufactured uprising.
