Obama's legacy: A nuclear Iran ~ By Armstrong Williams

Iran’s supreme leader spoke in recent days of “devilish” actions by the United States, underscoring the Iranian belief that our nation is “the Great Satan.” As always, the crowd began a familiar chant, “Death to America.” The administration did not condemn these vile realities. Instead, it asserted that this was intended for a “domestic political audience” and that it somehow proved that the United States needs to negotiate a deal with Tehran.

When someone, or in this case an aspiring dominator of the Middle East with a track record of supplying money, arms, training and other support to terrorist organizations, says that our death is their goal, we should take them at their word. The best way to safeguard our national security, stand with our allies and protect our interests in the Middle East would be actually preventing the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism from acquiring nuclear weapons, not merely creating delays. 

The president seems to think the American public is stupid. He campaigned on promises of “hope and change.” Lofty rhetoric, but we never saw much of either. Now, if the president signs an agreement that legitimizes and permits an Iranian path to a nuclear weapon, the only change he will have made is that we will have no hope left.

It is probably a good thing that Congress is stepping in, and legislating a role in the Iran nuclear agreement, and sanctions against Iran.  For Obama, it is probably a very good thing.  It was a lousy deal, and everyone knew it.  When everything falls apart before June 30, 2015, Obama will probably blame Congress for interfering. And if you ask me, I think he was hoping that Congress would get him out of such a bad deal for all of the reasons that Armstrong writes about.  But, now what?  Just sayin'...

As if the Islamic Republic of Iran’s determined pursuit of nuclear weapons, track record of bloody terrorism, aggressive geopolitical power grabs, abhorrent human-rights violations and history of lies were not enough – President Obama’s recent interview should prove to everyone just how dangerous the framework agreement announced in Lausanne on April 2 really is.

In an interview with Tom Friedman, President Obama said, “I’ve been very clear that Iran will not get a nuclear weapon on my watch.” That last bit bears repeating: “… Iran will not get a nuclear weapon on my watch.” This confirms what many of us have suspected all along: The framework agreement will enable Iran to acquire a nuclear weapon; the mullahs in Tehran will just have to wait a little while.

Hiding under skillful rhetorical cover, Obama basically said that he believes a 10-year agreement keeps nuclear weapons out of Iran’s hands until dealing with the Islamic Republic becomes someone else’s problem. He essentially told the American public that our fears are true: He apparently cares about the fate of America’s national security and the security of American allies only while he’s sitting in the Oval Office.

As we all know, Iran has mastered the tactics of intransigence, deceit and waiting the Western powers out over the years. Indeed, a key component of Iran’s strategy has always been to buy more and more time through extensions of diplomatic talks and the stonewalling of transparent inspections and verifications of its nuclear facilities.

Netanyahu: Obama's Iranian Nuclear Deal Worse Than Israel Feared

Strategic Affairs Minister Yuval Steinitz, the Israeli official who has been spearheading efforts to lobby world powers against the Iran deal, voiced cautious hope that the negotiations would collapse as they have in the past.

"We may still have a chance. We are not alone. There are still great doubts in the United States as well as in France, even in England," Steinitz told Israel Radio, referring to disputes with Iran over the scope of nuclear projects it might be allowed to retain.

But Steinitz said Israel, which is not a party to the talks and whose hardline demands have not been welcomed in Western capitals, was in an "uphill battle".

If Israel were to attack Iran, would the U.S. (Obama) defend them, or condemn them? I think that is the question that needs to be asked. We probably know the answer to that as long as Obama is still President!  But then, there is another question, the other side of the coin: Would Iran be defended or condemned by the United States (Obama) if they were to attack Israel? Do you think that Israel is asking these questions? Of course they are, as inferred in this column.

The options for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Israel are quickly running out.  Just today, the nuclear negotiations in Lausanne, Switzerland, are being extended past today's deadline.  Who will have to make concessions in order to get a deal hammered out?  What will Israel do should there be no deal or a bad deal, which Bibi has already warned us about?  And what will Arab nations in the Middle East do?  It is speculated that they will enter the nuclear arms race in order to keep Iran from controlling the whole region. 

Now, just throw in one more precarious scenario that jeopardizes peace on this planet.  Should there be a nuclear arms race, those countries in the Middle East involved in oil production will need a higher oil price in order to fund their efforts.  So, if you think what happens "over there" will not affect you, think again.  A war, or even rumors of war, even if this country is not involved, will have its consequences on us.  Just sayin'...

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu condemned on Sunday the framework Iranian nuclear agreement being sought by international negotiators, saying it was even worse than his country had feared.

Israel has mounted what it terms an "uphill battle" against an agreement that might ease sanctions on the Iranians while leaving them with a nuclear infrastructure with bomb-making potential. Tehran says its nuclear program is peaceful.

"This deal, as it appears to be emerging, bears out all of our fears, and even more than that," Netanyahu told his cabinet in Jerusalem as the United States, five other world powers and Iran worked toward a March 31 deadline in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Noting advances made by Iranian-allied forces in Yemen and other Arab countries, Netanyahu accused the Islamic republic of trying to "conquer the entire Middle East" while moving toward nuclearization.

"The Iran-Lausanne-Yemen axis is very dangerous to humanity, and must be stopped," he said.

Netanyahu's campaigning against the nuclear negotiations crested on March 3 with his speech to the U.S. Congress at the invitation of its Republican speaker, John Boehner, that angered President Barack Obama and many fellow Democrats.

Six (only six?) examples Obama is purposefully enabling the Islamist cause ~ By Allen West

In an operation that was again unilateral with no Congressional approval, U.S. military support and resources were given to Islamist groups fighting against Moammar Qaddafy — and we know the results of that action. Not long after, one of the groups this administration armed, Ansar al-Sharia, took responsibility for the terrorist attack and murder of our U.S .Ambassador Chris Stevens, Sean Smith, Ty Woods, and Glenn Doherty at the Benghazi Special Mission Compound (SMC). Oh, and that same group claims it has established an Islamic caliphate in eastern Libya, based in Benghazi. Just two weeks ago, the United States of America evacuated the Libyan embassy in Tripoli due to security concerns.

But I guess it’s all hunky-dory there now, because according to the Washington Free Beacon, “The Obama administration has lifted longtime restrictions on Libyans attending flight schools in the United States and training here in nuclear science, according to a final amendment of the ban recently approved by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB).”

I've had plenty of conversations with friends regarding whether or not Obama is a Muslim, as there are many factors that are pointing to that certain possibility. He lived in Indonesia through much of his early childhood and went to a madrasah.

Those conversations always ended up with us being very concerned for America with Obama's apparent lack of allegiance to this country.  Our national security has been dreadfully compromised by many of Barack Obama's scandals, actions, and appointments.  There are many of those factors that we can discuss at a later time, but this column by Allen West definitely stokes the fears of where Obama is leading America to. As West writes, "All the circumstantial and anecdotal evidence points to that conclusion. The pivot away from the Middle East seems to be nothing more than an opportunity to enable Islamists and their goals."

Sure, it would be a lot easier for us to say that Barack Hussein Obama is just your typical liberal, that he is incompetent and in way over his head, that he's a poor leader... blah, blah, blah.  It is when we start to believe that Obama is purposefully doing these things, which I believe he is, that we really have to be afraid of his motives.

The only plausible explanation for many actions taken by President Obama and his administration is that they are working counter to the security of the United States of America. How else can one rationalize the following:

1. The unilateral release of five senior Taliban back to the enemy while the enemy is still fighting us.
2. Providing weapons of support to the Muslim Brotherhood-led Egyptian government — F-16s and M1A1 Abrams tanks — but not to the Egyptian government after the Islamist group has been removed.
3. Negotiations with Qatar and Turkey, two Islamist-supporting countries.
4. Negotiations with Hamas, a terrorist group.
5. Returning sanction money, to the tune of billions of dollars, back to the theocratic regime led by Iran’s ayatollahs and allowing them to march on towards nuclear capability.
6. Obama’s evident support of Islamists in Libya.

'No help coming': State preps citizens for EMP attack ~ By F. Michael Maloof

In February 2013, Congressman Trent Franks introduced the SHIELD Act in the House of Representatives and established in the U.S. House of Representatives the EMP Caucus.

The SHIELD Act stands for Secure High-voltage Infrastructure for Electricity from Lethal Damage. It calls on industry and government to develop, promulgate and implement standards and processes that are necessary to address the electric grid’s current vulnerabilities and shortcomings that would be affected by an EMP.

Franks has been trying to get the SHIELD Act into law since 2011. In the last session of Congress, it passed the House but failed in the Senate. His efforts stem from findings of the congressional EMP commission which spelled out in considerable detail the cascading impact of an EMP on the electrical grid system and its catastrophic impact on life-sustaining critical infrastructures that depend on it.

Experts agree that if there were an EMP event, the U.S. could see some 90 percent of its population affected. Experts believe food, water, energy and other supply systems could be inoperational, possibly for periods extending to years.

Okay, here are the key words: "No help coming." That should be very concerning to all of us. There may be a reason why no help would come if there was an EMP attack on the United States, though. There seems to be people that refuse to believe it could ever happen. From the article:

State Rep. Chad Campbell, D-Phoenix, was one of 17 lawmakers who voted against the original legislation, criticizing the focus on a catastrophe that he said was a very remote possibility.

“Really, we already have a major catastrophe in the state and that’s called our schools falling apart, our roads falling apart and we should be fixing those things,” he said. “Not living in some fantasy world worrying about some unquantified attack or some disaster that’s not gonna happen.”

I suspect that this Rep. Chad Campbell, a Democrat who sounds like he's pretty progressive, would probably never understand the EMP threat, possibly just because it has been written about so extensively on wnd.com, and I do not consider that to be a "remote possibility" at all! Or, perhaps the representative, and many like him, have never bothered to read any of the multiple reports and briefings that have been produced by the EMP Commission, such as their Executive Report. Here is a snip from the Abstract of that report, found on page 5:

Several potential adversaries have or can acquire the capability to attack the United States with a high-altitude nuclear weapon-generated electromagnetic pulse (EMP). A determined adversary can achieve an EMP attack capability without having a high level of sophistication.

EMP is one of a small number of threats that can hold our society at risk of catastrophic consequences. EMP will cover the wide geographic region within line of sight to the nuclear weapon. It has the capability to produce significant damage to critical infrastructures and thus to the very fabric of US society, as well as to the ability of the United States and Western nations to project influence and military power.  (Emphasis my own.)

It does, however, illustrate one major reason why nothing has been done on the federal level,  It could be related to the ignorance about the plausibility of one of our enemies having the ability to launch a nuclear weapon into space, and detonating it right above the United States.

Keeping in mind that our current President and many of the Democrats in the U.S. Senate are not pro-military, it might explain why the SHIELD Act passed in the House last year, but went nowhere in the Senate.

Well, there is one thing that We the People can do to help prevent such a catastrophic event from happening, or at least to the magnitude that could be the reality right now.  You know what that is, and you know when we can do something about it:  It is called the Midterm Election this November 2014.  We must vote out the Representatives and Senators, mostly Democrats, but even some of the progressive Republicans, too, that are keeping this country from protecting itself.  Just sayin'...

WASHINGTON – Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer has signed legislation to require the state’s Department of Emergency and Military Affairs to prepare materials outlining what citizens need to know to deal with either a natural or man-made electromagnetic pulse event that could knock out the vulnerable electrical grid system over a wide geographical region.

The legislation, SB 1476, was introduced by Sen. David Farnsworth, R-Mesa. It includes the type and quantity of food, water and medical supplies that each person should stockpile in case an EMP occurs over the U.S.

The legislation, however, doesn’t require actual hardening of the grid within the state.

“In our lifetimes the emergencies we’ve seen have been local emergencies, and really all we have to do is be prepared enough to hang on until help arrives,” Farnsworth said at the time he introduced it last February. “With an EMP, there’s no help coming.”

Under the legislation that now is law, the Arizona Division of Emergency Management is to post on its website recommendations such as the type and amount of supplies residents should stockpile to be prepared for an EMP event.

Farnsworth’s more immediate concern was the prospect of an EMP triggered by the detonation of a high-altitude nuclear weapon. The EMP would have the effect of knocking out the vulnerable grid system and any unprotected electronics.

“My hope is that by bringing this out, we’ll start discussions and come to the realization that as a government we can’t feed all these people, but as responsible citizens we need to do our part and make individual preparations,” he said at the time he introduced the legislation.

A co-sponsor of the legislation, Don Shooter, R-Yuma, had criticized the federal government for not taking a similar public education program.

VIDEO: Watch Out For the Trojan Horse, as in Flight MH370

Please forgive me for a minute, but there is a theory that I have regarding the missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370. I'm pretty sure that the Boeing 777 was landed somewhere with the passengers and crew all alive and ... well, let's just leave it at alive. They could now be hostages. One thing you aren't hearing about very much are the two Iranian passengers with stolen passports and one-way tickets paid for with cash by another unknown Iranian. Is it possible that the plane was landed in Iran? We know about the 20 passengers that are engineers for a company that makes Electronic Warfare equipment. That alone could be valuable to a country like Iran. The plane would be valuable to Iran for use as a way to fly a nuclear weapon to a target, such as Israel, Western Europe, or the United States. And who knows what was in the cargo hold of the plane that might be of great value. And now you know the reason of the title of this post.
