In America we have benevolent totalitarianism. This is a term that we created to describe the modern system of government that is fascism in all but name. It is all hidden under that loving word “democracy.” This is a political lock with an iron grip on the minds of the population.

Any political, economic, or military alchemy or chicanery is hidden behind the word “democracy.” This is a major, major key to understanding reality today.

So, after reading this column, do you get the idea that the elections don't matter?  That there is no way we can ever elect the people that can, or will try to, turn things around?  However, I really have no intention to post this column here in order to depress you.

While Bob Livingston explains how America got to this point of "benevolent totalitarianism," he doesn't mention if there is a way to reverse the transformation of America.  There is, but if it took "just over 200 years" to go from freedom to Fascism in America, it will probably take a few more hundred years to return the genie of Fascism back into the bottle.  We can't do it overnight without God's intervention! Just sayin'...

America still has all the symbols of liberty and all the trappings of human freedom. It is totalitarianism made palatable with a democratic aura.

So what is the difference between ugly and obvious Nazi fascism and modern fascism under the pretense of democracy? Modern fascism is hidden and twisted under an aura of benevolence.

Politicians know this ruse well: If they want to put something illegal or immoral upon the people, they simply create names that convey something good and/or operate in secret to cover their chicanery.

The president and Congress have used this old ruse once again as they move forward the so-called free trade treaties, the Trans-Pacific Partnership and the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership. The treaties are so secretive that congressweasels had to sign nondisclosure statements to view them in secret rooms, and they cannot discuss specifics or take notes of the treaties. Most of the congressweasels did not even bother to read the treaties before voting for them, but they tell us they are for our own good.

So here we have Congress legislating away American sovereignty through stealth and deception, aided and abetted by the [distracting] clamor over a Confederate battle flag flying in South Carolina.

And over there we have new calls for gun control under the guise of “bipartisanship” from Sens. Pat Toomey and Joe Manchin following the shooting of nine Christians worshiping in a church. Never mind that the shooter, a deranged, bigoted, drug-addled psychopath broke no fewer than 10 laws in the process of committing his heinous crime. The elites tell us another gun law would have certainly stopped him in his tracks, and removing the flag aforetime would have certainly ended his bigoted notions.

Next we have, the Supreme Court assaulting religious liberty and the historical tradition of marriage with a power-usurping ruling legalizing so-called “gay marriage.”

Propaganda is distortion to promote illegitimate government designs or to promote usury commerce. Behind every propaganda message, there is the transfer of wealth and power to the corporate state. The propaganda covers the slide toward fascism. In fascism, as in America today, commerce and government overlap.

We have come from freedom to fascism in America in just over 200 years and done so without a shot being fired.

Six (only six?) examples Obama is purposefully enabling the Islamist cause ~ By Allen West

In an operation that was again unilateral with no Congressional approval, U.S. military support and resources were given to Islamist groups fighting against Moammar Qaddafy — and we know the results of that action. Not long after, one of the groups this administration armed, Ansar al-Sharia, took responsibility for the terrorist attack and murder of our U.S .Ambassador Chris Stevens, Sean Smith, Ty Woods, and Glenn Doherty at the Benghazi Special Mission Compound (SMC). Oh, and that same group claims it has established an Islamic caliphate in eastern Libya, based in Benghazi. Just two weeks ago, the United States of America evacuated the Libyan embassy in Tripoli due to security concerns.

But I guess it’s all hunky-dory there now, because according to the Washington Free Beacon, “The Obama administration has lifted longtime restrictions on Libyans attending flight schools in the United States and training here in nuclear science, according to a final amendment of the ban recently approved by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB).”

I've had plenty of conversations with friends regarding whether or not Obama is a Muslim, as there are many factors that are pointing to that certain possibility. He lived in Indonesia through much of his early childhood and went to a madrasah.

Those conversations always ended up with us being very concerned for America with Obama's apparent lack of allegiance to this country.  Our national security has been dreadfully compromised by many of Barack Obama's scandals, actions, and appointments.  There are many of those factors that we can discuss at a later time, but this column by Allen West definitely stokes the fears of where Obama is leading America to. As West writes, "All the circumstantial and anecdotal evidence points to that conclusion. The pivot away from the Middle East seems to be nothing more than an opportunity to enable Islamists and their goals."

Sure, it would be a lot easier for us to say that Barack Hussein Obama is just your typical liberal, that he is incompetent and in way over his head, that he's a poor leader... blah, blah, blah.  It is when we start to believe that Obama is purposefully doing these things, which I believe he is, that we really have to be afraid of his motives.

The only plausible explanation for many actions taken by President Obama and his administration is that they are working counter to the security of the United States of America. How else can one rationalize the following:

1. The unilateral release of five senior Taliban back to the enemy while the enemy is still fighting us.
2. Providing weapons of support to the Muslim Brotherhood-led Egyptian government — F-16s and M1A1 Abrams tanks — but not to the Egyptian government after the Islamist group has been removed.
3. Negotiations with Qatar and Turkey, two Islamist-supporting countries.
4. Negotiations with Hamas, a terrorist group.
5. Returning sanction money, to the tune of billions of dollars, back to the theocratic regime led by Iran’s ayatollahs and allowing them to march on towards nuclear capability.
6. Obama’s evident support of Islamists in Libya.

‘Time to Forget the United States…’: Beck Says the ‘Fundamental Transformation’ of America Has Already Happened

Beck also said he wants no part of a country that will “data mine” its children with programs like Common Core, or prop up the Muslim Brotherhood over Israel.

“I will proudly be a citizen in a respects and lives and protects the Constitution of the United States of America,” Beck said. “But [we] are no longer that country … I didn’t leave my country; my country left me … I’m right where I’ve always been. And where the country used to be. Ruled by the Constitution.”

But Beck said he is inspired because he isn’t alone in his beliefs, and “courage is contagious.”

I won't hesitate to speculate that Glenn Beck will take some flak for his outburst yesterday. But I also won't hesitate to say that I think Glenn is pretty much right on. Glenn Beck is NOT alone in his beliefs. I am one who shares his view that this is not the country we knew just five years ago.

I had been getting more and more disturbed over the last few years as I observed the things going on since Barack Obama took office in 2009.  'The country is going in the wrong direction' would be an enormous understatement.  It was truly the main reason I have revived this blog from it's two-year dormancy.  Though I've been writing on other venues, I knew that there was more that I needed to do.  The major problem is the frightening amount of ignorance about what is happening to our freedom, and I felt the urgency to do what I could to help.

Since the horribly messed up roll-out of healthcare.com, the website for Obamacare, and the large number of people that lost their health care and their doctor, people have started to wake up.  Okay, I know, there is still a long way to go to inform people. I get that.  It is sad when I mention Benghazi to somebody that I would have thought had heard about it, and they ask, "Who is Ben Ghazi?" Oh, dear, it is alarming how little people know about the direction this country is going. Glenn may be right that "the ‘Fundamental Transformation’ of America has already happened." That is, if anything, way too close to the truth.  Just sayin'...

A fiery Glenn Beck asserted Wednesday that the “fundamental transformation” of America has already occurred, and it is “time to forget the United States of America that you know.”

“If this is what is [I am] required to pledge allegiance to, I am no longer a citizen of this country,” Beck said. “If I am required to pledge allegiance to that, I proudly declare now for my grandchildren’s ears, I am not a part of [it].”

Beck was referring to then-candidate Barack Obama’s pledge that “we are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America” with his election.

“If they say, you’re an American citizen, and that means we can spy on our own people without a court order … against the Constitution. We can kill babies, abort babies. We can arrest journalists who are trying to leak information to make sure the American people know what’s going on. We can kill our own citizens without trial because the government has decided that the president can just sign an execution order … We can leave our own people behind in Benghazi and then blame it on somebody else. Throw his butt in prison, then lie about it. Get caught and say, ‘what difference does it make,’ I am not a part of that,” Beck said.

Obama: Transforming America ~ By Henry Lamb

The War Powers Act says:

The constitutional powers of the President as Commander-in-Chief to introduce United States Armed Forces into hostilities … are exercised only pursuant to (1) a declaration of war, (2) specific statutory authorization, or (3) a national emergency created by attack upon the United States, its territories or possessions, or its armed forces"

As a candidate in 2007, Obama knew better. He told the Boston Globe:

The president does not have power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation.

As president, he doesn't seem to care what the Constitution or the War Powers Act say. He considers the Constitution to be a "flawed" document he alone has the wisdom to correct.

Obama's foreign policy is transforming America.

Here is the thing: Politicians always promise things that they know the voters want, and they rarely deliver. But here's the other thing: Obama told America what he wanted to do to transform America during the 2008 campaign, and he still managed to be elected. And shockingly, he has delivered on way too much of the agenda he promised. And then, there are the promises that John Stossel says Obama did not deliver on:

It took me an extra day to get this great column by Henry Lamb posted. I wanted to make sure that I would be able to add further value to what he had to say. Well, as it turned out, there wasn't much more I could write that would fill in any blanks. Henry had it covered. But, at least I found the above video that illustrates much of what is covered in Henry's first paragraph.

And here is one last thing... When those of us on the Right have something to point out about Obama and the Left, it isn't "nasty, smarmy things." No, we're just letting people know what it was that Obama promised, and it is in his own words. It isn't just about which parts of the Obama agenda that have succeeded or failed that really matters. It is the fact that he made his agenda known: Transform America. And I think the results of that transformation will not be pretty. The very scary part is that it really seems to be intentional. Very scary, especially for the fact that Obama has announced that he is running in 2012. I'm just sayin'....

He said he was going to do it. He explained why he was going to do it. He even said how he was going to do it. He has been doing it since the day he took office.

To be fair, he did take office at a time when the economy was on the brink of disaster. Of course, he and others of his philosophical ilk caused both the housing bubble and its collapse – no matter how hard they deny it. Organizations such as ACORN, where Obama cut his teeth as a community organizer, demanded that banks fund mortgages for people who had no hope of repaying them. Democrats in Congress made it easy for banks by guaranteeing the loans through Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Two months before the 2008 election, the U.S. government had to bail out the two failed financial institutions to the tune of $15 billion.

During eight years under the Bush administration, the national debt increased by $4 trillion ($500 billion per year.) These years included the attack on the World Trade Centers, the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, and Hurricane Katrina, as well as the explosion of the housing bubble. Obama added $4 trillion to the national debt in 421 days. And his "spreading the wealth around" has created a debt that will burden future generations for years to come.

Obama's economic policy is transforming America.

Despite the absence of constitutional authority, or a single Republican vote, Obama's health-care plan not only deepens the public debt, but also forces previously free citizens to purchase a product designated by the government. Never before has the federal government presumed to dictate what its citizens must buy. Moreover, Obama and his Democratic majority in Congress used bizarre procedures to force "Obamacare" into law. By so doing, Obama has demonstrated that he believes his ideas on governance to be superior to the founders', and that achieving his goals is far more important than any rules or procedural restraints.

Obama chooses not to enforce federal drug laws relating to marijuana, or to allow his Department of Justice to prosecute Black Panthers who stood – with billy club in hand – in front of polling places to intimidate white voters. But he quickly sues a school district for not allowing a Muslim teacher to take three weeks off to go to Mecca.

Obama's social policy is transforming America.

The most dangerous president in history ~ By Henry Lamb

While Henry Lamb discusses Obama's dictatorial pattern, I'm reminded of Hugo Chavez, maybe one of the most narcissistic leaders in the world. But Hugo doesn't run a powerful country such as America, and that is the scariest part of this: Obama does. To top it all off, Henry had concluded this column with, "his vision for the rest of the world is even more frightening," and fortunately for us this morning, "That's for another day." I am not sure we need anything more to frighten us today. But actually, I think a good number of the readers at this blog probably have a very good understanding of where Obama wants to take the world. And Obama's vision for the world truly is frightening to think about. Just sayin'...

What's most dangerous about this man is his restructuring the government to be operated by a collection of appointed czars, who are not accountable to Congress, who can exercise powers not granted to the government to achieve nearly dictatorial authority over the citizens of the United States.

This is a limited look at only a few areas of domestic policy; his vision for the rest of the world is even more frightening. That's for another day.

Obama believes in the rule of law – his law. No other law is relevant. No other law matters. When Obama speaks, he expects the world to obey.

In his Tuesday night performance, he said, "I will meet with the chairman of BP and inform him that he is to set aside whatever resources are required to compensate the workers and business. …" "Inform him?" Where does Barack Hussein Obama get the authority to issue orders to the CEO of a private corporation? There is no such authority in the Constitution. There is no law that empowers the president to "inform" the CEO of any corporation how he will spend the corporation's money. Obama couldn't care less about the Constitution or the law.

There was no constitutional authority for him to essentially take over General Motors and Chrysler, or the banks. Obama couldn't care less about the law. When he speaks, he expects the world to obey.

There is no constitutional authority for the federal government to require American citizens to purchase health insurance or any other product or service. It doesn't matter. Obama spoke; his congressional majority of comrades obeyed.

In 18 months, the man has demonstrated that he cares nothing about the system of government created by our founders and enshrined in the Constitution. He has demonstrated that he fully intends to "fundamentally transform" the United States of America – as he promised in his campaign. Now we are beginning to get a picture of the nation he intends to build. The picture is frightening.

Virtually everything Obama has done since taking office has expanded both the size and power of the federal government. The federal government our founders constructed is a government limited to the specific powers enumerated in the Constitution. Those powers not enumerated are expressly reserved to the states and to the people.

Obama can't comprehend any limitations on his power. The moment Arizona enacted a law that empowered state law enforcement officers to check for citizenship, Obama bad-mouthed the state legislature and governor – without even reading the law. There have been arrogant presidents before, but none that can compare to the sickening self-centered narcissism that exudes from this man.

Obama's declaration that America must end its addiction to oil misses the point entirely. America is not addicted to oil at all; America is addicted to the lifestyle made possible by the most efficient, abundant energy source yet discovered. Americans would be delighted to move to any energy source that will provide the same or better lifestyle at less cost.

In a capitalist society such as America, government's role in the market is limited to providing a level playing field for the entrepreneurs who risk their own assets to provide a product or service in hopes of making a profit. Only in totalitarian systems are markets managed by government.

The reason the nation has not switched to solar, wind or other alternative energy sources has nothing to do with our addiction to oil; it has everything to do with cost and convenience.

Obama has decided that cost is irrelevant. He wants to wean America from oil and bond the nation to exotic alternatives, regardless of the cost. When Obama speaks, he expects people to obey. He is ready to artificially and unnecessarily increase the cost of carbon fuels in the form of taxes and fees, in order to fund subsidies for wind and solar energy sources. It doesn't matter to Obama that the environmental disaster that will be created by the solar farms and wind farms is much greater than the Gulf oil spill.

Obama's latest body blow to liberty ~ By David Limbaugh

Many of us, along with David Limbaugh, did our best to inform and warn the voters before the election in 2008 about what we would be facing if this tyrant were to be elected. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough. We had to compete with the mainstream media's love affair (you know, like Chris Matthews and the tingles running up his legs) with Barack Hussein Obama. And what we tried to tell people about Obama's radical friends, even if heard, was derided as being paranoid. And the sad thing is, many people still don't see or understand the obvious attacks - let alone those that are under the radar - on our freedom. Just sayin'...

There is no excuse – none – for any existing or prospective congressman to fail to comprehend the magnitude of the revolution that is now occurring inside our government. Any candidate who downplays or whitewashes the gravity of the ongoing assaults against our liberties must be defeated. Any congressman who suggests we can just tinker around at the edges of Obamacare and strip away its most noxious provisions – as opposed to "repeal and replace" – must be defeated.

In the meantime, in full view of the radar, Obama is now demanding another $80 billion stimulus plan, as well as $50 billion more in deficit spending to bail out state and local governments, $23 billion of which will be earmarked for government teachers' unions.

This is mind-boggling. Nothing will deter this man's thirst to radically change America, including controlling every aspect of our lives and redistributing money to his friends and preferred recipients.

I cannot be the only one who feels as if every new day brings a new assault on this nation and its people by this administration. Indeed, many people I know say they can't even watch the news anymore because it's so depressing. And it is.

Some of these assaults occur under the radar, and others are right out in the open. As an example of the former, last week, President Obama issued an executive order "Establishing the National Prevention, Health Promotion and Public Health Council," which will focus on "lifestyle behavior modification (including smoking cessation, proper nutrition, appropriate exercise, mental health, behavioral health, substance-use disorder and domestic-violence screenings)." It will even recommend changes in federal policy to reduce "sedentary behavior." (emphasis added by me)

The order also creates an advisory group within the Department of Health and Human Services that will answer to the surgeon general, who will serve as the chairwoman of the council.

In case you're wondering what authority the president launched this program under, he covers that in the first paragraph of the executive order: "By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, including section 4001 of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (Public Law 111-148), it is hereby ordered ..."

In other words, "I am the president, and the Constitution and Obamacare let me do anything I want to."

The socialized-medicine nightmare is already beginning. Many of us warned that Obamacare would serve as an all-purpose justification for government intervention in every aspect of our lives. Have we become so far removed from our founding principles that we don't grasp the perniciousness of such government encroachments into our private lives and personal liberties?

You must read the executive order on the White House website. Then you'll understand that the council and "Advisory Group" it establishes will not be merely advisory. The provisions of this "order" underscore the disturbing extent to which Obama and his band of authoritarians intend to control our lives.

The "Advisory Group," in consultation with the council, must submit, by March 23, 2011, a "national strategy" to "set specific goals and objectives for improving the health of the United States through federally supported prevention, health promotion and public-health programs, consistent with ongoing goal-setting efforts conducted by specific agencies."

The council, among other things, will "develop, after obtaining input from relevant stakeholders," a strategy to promote health and prevent disease. Relevant stakeholders?

Under this administration – and every administration that follows, now that socialized medicine has enveloped our society – will everything be reduced to a calculation of dollars and cents? Will we tolerate any manner of government control over the most minute aspects of our lives under the rationale that we have to improve our lifestyles to get healthier so that health-care costs don't bankrupt us? Does liberty mean nothing to us anymore?

Global governance is here! ~ By Henry Lamb

Hooray for Glenn Beck, and for Henry Lamb! Like Glenn, I too have been learning about global governance, only for me it has been for the last several years. Though I had thought much about the subject going back as far as the late 1970's, it wasn't until I became an avid reader of everything Henry Lamb has written about the subject on WorldNetDaily.com that I started seeing just how true it is, that GLOBAL GOVERNANCE IS HERE! Just sayin'...

I decided that it would be a great idea to have at least one of the Beck segments embedded into this post where he is talking about global governance. As Glenn Beck followers know, some of Glenn's segments can go beyond the 10 minute limit for youtube videos, so I have included the first two videos from his May 13, 2010 show:

Glenn Beck is in the process of discovering what global governance really is, and he is not afraid to tell his audience what he is learning, even though he knows his critics will ridicule his observations. It matters not how blatant the ridicule is, or the source from which it comes. "Global governance is here, it is here to stay, and … it will inevitably expand," unless the American people come to grips with the facts.

The American system of government that made America the greatest nation on earth cannot survive in the system of global governance being designed by the United Nations. The American system of government must be "fundamentally transformed" to fit into the European mold. This transformation is well under way.

Hooray for Glenn Beck! Right out there in front of God and everybody, he talks about global governance as a real and present danger. But right on cue, progressive bloggers do their best to ridicule the idea with wisdom such as this:

Seriously, for a moment. We're going to have to address the paranoia about a global takeover at some point – probably in easy-to-comprehend, Dick-and-Jane language – for the tea party.

Could it be that these people really don't know that global governance is already here?

As early as 1997, Gustave Speth, former head of the World Resources Institute, former Clinton transition team member and then head of the United Nations Development Program, told the Rio +5 gathering in Rio de Janeiro:

Global governance is here, here to stay, and, driven by economic and environmental globalization, global governance will inevitably expand.

Speaking to the delegates to the U.N. Conference on Climate Change at The Hague in 2000, then- French President Jacques Chirac said:

For the first time, humanity is instituting a genuine instrument of global governance, one that should find a place within the World Environmental Organization which France and the European Union would like to see established.

Just last month, Claude Trichet, president of the European Central Bank told the Council on Foreign Relations in New York:

… the emerging economies are now economically and financially so important and systemically so influential that they must have a full and proper ownership of global governance.

Glenn Beck is helping people realize that global governance is not an event. Global governance did not occur as the result of an invasion of blue-helmeted U.N. troops delivered in black helicopters. Instead, global governance is:

… the framework of rules, institutions, and practices that set limits on behavior of individuals, organizations, and companies. (U.N. Development Report, 1999, p. 34)

Few people realized that when the United States agreed to the Convention on Trade in Endangered Species (CITES), March 3, 1973, that by Dec. 28, 1973, there would be a federal law – the Endangered Species Act – "limiting the behavior of individuals, organizations, and companies" to comply with the "framework of rules" created by the institution called the United Nations.

Few people recognized it to be global governance when the United States endorsed the report of the United Nations Conference on Human Settlements in 1976, which said:

Private land ownership is a principal instrument of accumulating wealth and therefore contributes to social injustice. Public control of land use is therefore indispensable.

By 1996, however, the recommendations in this report were being implemented through the President's Council on Sustainable Development and were imposing comprehensive land-use plans, which mandate "… limits on behavior of individuals, organizations, and companies," as prescribed by the institution called the United Nations.

If you're not a tea partier … why not? ~ By Pat Boone

Okay, you only need to read this if you're not the kind of person that sees Obama's transformation of America, but believes that there's nothing you can do about it. If you believe the mainstream media lies, and their ridicule of the tea partiers, there's no reason for you to read Pat's column today. Only those of you that consider yourself patriots, and are not afraid to be libelously labeled as a terrorist and a racist, need to continue reading.

... You can do something about it. You can join with your neighbors, your fellow citizens, and work together to spread the facts, wake up our countrymen and mobilize the registration and 100 percent vote in each and every election.

You can seek out and support candidates who revere the Constitution, will actually represent those who elect them, and not dictate to them. You can invade and take over your local school boards and tell the teachers how you want your kids taught, not the other way around. It's still your country!

Join the tea partying! And let's reclaim America!

All the polls now show that, far from petering out and fading away, the phenomenon called the tea-party movement is growing, gaining momentum, stature and political clout every day.

This is particularly amazing when you realize that this "party" has no home base, no national or even titular leader, no billionaire support and no real coordinating organization. It's just a rapidly rising and vocal grass-roots activist reaction to the same crime that prompted the original American Revolution – taxation without representation.

The average American citizen is not as apathetic, ignorant, uninformed and disinterested as the leftist, "progressive" political opportunists thought.

For years now, as modern life for most citizens has become more diverse, pressured, distracted and uncertain; powerful – and power-hungry – forces have seized the opportunity to mold government into their image of what it should be. When an unknown, inexperienced but articulate Barack Obama rode into the White House, vowing openly to "radically transform America," the liberals felt they could now ride roughshod over the citizenry, disregard the constitutional limits on the branches of government and truly transform a democratic republic into a socialist Never Never Land.

In one short year, the Obama administration and the shadow figures surrounding and abetting it rammed through legislation piling trillions of dollars in unsustainable, unpayable debt on the already beleaguered taxpayers – and made promises and proposed other coming entitlements that would add trillions more.

They took control of two of the big three auto manufacturers, chose winners and losers among the biggest banking institutions, bailed out Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, and threatened and cajoled lawmakers and insurance companies and hospital and medical suppliers into helping pass a trillion-dollar takeover of the health-care system in this country, thumbing their noses at the 60 to 80 percent of Americans who loudly didn't want it. All this while maintaining piously that this was "historic" and for the good of all Americans. The "right thing to do."

This new president, while always vowing to be "transparent," signed executive orders giving over $200 million to Planned Parenthood without so much as a "by your leave" to taxpayers, who've made it very plain they don't want to pay for abortions, and authorizing billions more in "foreign aid" to countries that oppose us at every turn. He apologized for America's "failing to live up to our ideals" and vowed he would stop our policies of "torture." He declared America is "no longer a Christian nation" and courted Arab favor in Egypt as he cited his great respect for and early acquaintance with Islam. Six months into his presidency, he quietly named June "Gay Pride Month" and all but ignored the National Day of Prayer.

He has increasingly insulted and tried to browbeat Israeli leaders, singlehandedly corrupting a relationship that has bound two allies together in championing democracy and liberty in the Middle East. He has shown much more regard for Hamas and its claims than the God-given right of Israel to live, prosper and defend its own soil.

And while all this has happened in broad daylight, over mounting and vociferous protest across the nation, his attitude and that of his advisers is like "Let 'em eat cake, while they can afford it. We know what's best for this country, and we're gonna use our congressional majority to do whatever we deem appropriate. We've waited a long time to gain this superiority – and a crisis is too good to waste."

But happily, America is still America. It's still the land of the free and the home of the brave. And now, NOW, is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their country!

And that's what's happening, pure and simple. The political pundits, the liberal politicos, the cynical comedians, the soldout media, can't comprehend that an informed, aroused citizenry can still mobilize all by itself, locally, regionally and nationally – that millions and millions of ordinary folks can call each other, e-mail each other, rouse each other and come together to figure out how to take back their governance.

But it's happening, and it's gaining force, coming on strong, not weakening. I'm exuberantly part of it. Are you? If not – why not?

January 12, 2010 - Massachusetts Miracle On January 19, 2010, a special election will be held in Massachusetts to select a new US Senator. Mainstream media pundits would have you believe Democrat Maratha Coakley is the undisputed leader in the race. But the so-called 'experts' may be in for a bit of a surprise. Freedom-loving Americans from across our nation are rising-up to support Republican candidate Scott Brown. In the days leading up to the election, Brown has advanced such that some polls now actually show him within the margin of error. Brown would provide the critical 41st vote in the Senate to break the Democrat's filibuster-proof majority and stop the unprecedented assault on our personal liberties that is now taking place in Congress. Scott Brown has pledged to vote against the government takeover of our health care system and is also opposed to cap-and-trade. Martha Coakley, on the other hand, supports Obama's socialistic agenda. The political elite should not underestimate the resilience of the American people to defend their liberty from a tyrannical government.

In hopes of preventing or at least minimizing congressional corruption, the nation's framers carefully limited the power of Congress to those specific powers set forth in Article I, Section 8. The 10th Amendment makes it impossible to misinterpret the limitation of congressional power by expressly stating that all power not granted to the United States by the Constitution is retained by the states or by the people. (Emphasis my own) The House of Representatives once recognized this limitation and included this language in their rules of procedure:

Each report of a committee on a public bill or public joint resolution shall contain the following: A statement citing the specific powers granted to Congress in the Constitution to enact the law proposed by the bill or joint resolution.

Congress lived within its limitation – generally speaking – until Roosevelt's Democratic tsunami. Roosevelt's "New Deal" trashed the Constitution nearly as badly as Obama's current "Raw Deal." The Supreme Court ruled a dozen of Roosevelt's new laws unconstitutional. Furious, Roosevelt set out to pack the court, proposing legislation that would let him appoint six new justices. His legislation failed, but it frightened the Supreme Court so badly that not another piece of legislation was ruled unconstitutional for 60 years. The Supreme Court voted 5-4 to uphold the Social Security Act [Steward Machine Company v. Davis] which, in effect, extended the "general welfare" clause beyond the enumerated powers. Since that 1937 decision, both parties have ignored the concept of limited government, and mangled the Constitution in the process. Interestingly, Obama's pledge to "fundamentally transform the United States of America" includes the transformation of the Supreme Court. There has not been a lot of publicity yet, but a lot of important Obama-backers are weighing in to transform the Court into another tool for their use. The debate over the limitation of congressional power goes all the way back to Alexander Hamilton, who believed that the "general welfare clause" did extend congressional power beyond those enumerated. James Madison, on the other hand, told his friend Henry Lee that if there were no limits on Congress, the Constitution might as well be thrown into the fire. Honest people who care about the Constitution will pray to understand and apply its great principles accurately.
