Netanyahu Debunks AP Report Rapping US Ambassador ~ By Hana Levi Julian

“The United States has given us tremendous support, material support with Iron Dome, not only the one that we received, but now both houses of Congress with the support of the Administration have agreed to the request that I made for an additional $225 million for additional Iron Dome protection. That is a lot of support and we deeply appreciate it, and that is the substance of our relationship.

“That’s the tone of our relationship, which gets to the question of these reports that are not only of my conversation with Ambassador Shapiro but also with the President that are full of incorrections, (sic) full of distortions and are wrong both in tone and in substance.

“The right tone, the right substance is the support that we are getting as we speak from the United States of America, and I appreciate it deeply.”
On August 2, 2014, Matthew Lee, AP Diplomatic Writer, in his story for the Associated Press, said that Netanyahu had scolded the U.S.:
Sources familiar with conversations between Netanyahu and senior U.S. officials, including Secretary of State John Kerry, say the Israeli leader advised the Obama administration "not to ever second guess me again" on the matter.
The story, "Netanyahu to US: Don't second guess me on Hamas," quickly went viral in the media. But according to this story by Hana Levi Julian, Bibi Netanyahu claims that it never happened.

Now we have to ask ourselves why AP writer Matthew Lee would have made up the story, or at least exaggerated the report to make it sound more scintillating.  Or, the other possibility, assuming that Netanyahu did not scold the U.S., would be that one of Matthew Lee's sources made up the report. What ulterior motive could a source in the State Department have to make up a story about Netanyahu scolding our President and/or anyone else in the State Department, including the U.S. Ambassador to Israel, Dan Shapiro? It doesn't seem to add up.

Well, then again, there's nothing more than Obama would want more right now than to have Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sound like he's kissing up to Obama, and our Congress, for approving the $225 Million aid package for Iron Dome. That does sound like a good way that Obama could keep Jewish Obama (Democrat) voters happy. Just sayin'...

Netanyahu Debunks AP Report Rapping US Ambassador

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu
and US Ambassador Dan Shapiro
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu used his news conference on Saturday night to debunk a report that on Friday he had scolded US Ambassador Dan Shapiro.

Associated Press reported that Netanyahu allegedly warned the American diplomat in a sharp telephone conversation he now expected the full support of Washington and the rest of the international community for Israel’s counter terror operation in Gaza, following the abduction by Hamas terrorists of IDF 2nd Lt. Hadar Goldin.

Two other IDF soldiers were killed while Goldin was dragged into a terror tunnel in the ambush that took place in the southern Gaza border town of Rafah during a 72-hour humanitarian cease fire forced on Israel by the United States and United Nations. The report claimed Shapiro was told by Netanyahu the Obama administration was not to “ever second guess me again” when it came to dealing with Hamas.

What divides Israel from Palestinians ~ By Star Parker

Art Linkletter had once said, "Things turn out best for the people who make the best out of the way things turn out," and it perfectly sums up this outstanding Star Parker column.

I was checking out some videos about the Palestinians living in the Gaza strip last night, showing unbelievable violence - against each other. The violence was so graphic, I won't even include any of them here. Put it this way, it made South Central L.A. look like the Magic Kingdom at Disneyland. The best sentence of the column - besides what Art Linkletter says - was, "A culture of blame, entitlement and hate is a path to nowhere."

And meanwhile, as Star points out, the Israelis live in peace, except for those 10,000 rocket attacks lobbed at their schools and hospitals and cultural centers. And yet, Israel still thrives. They must have been watching Art Linkletter back in the day, and learned a few things from him... Just sayin'...

A culture of blame, entitlement and hate is a path to nowhere. This is as true in the Middle East as it is in America's inner cities, put on the government plantation years ago.

In 1957, Golda Meir, a future prime minister of Israel, spoke at the National Press Club in Washington. She said, unfortunately prophetically, "Peace will come when the Arabs will love their children more than they hate us."

The world is still waiting.

Television personality Art Linkletter, who recently passed away at age 97, had the secret for achieving peace in the Middle East.

Linkletter, who experienced many setbacks and tragedies in his life, observed, "Things turn out best for the people who make the best out of the way things turn out."

Adherence to this simple bit of wisdom sums up why Israel has been a story of success and miracles and why the Palestinian Arabs languish.

Take the case of Gaza, which is getting so much attention now.

The Israelis decided to unilaterally pull their presence out of Gaza in 2005 and turned control for its administration over to the Palestinians. It presented an opportunity for the Palestinians to show the Israelis and the world that they could govern themselves and pave a path for prosperity and peace for their people.

Were circumstances ideal?

Certainly not. But that's the point. Circumstances are never ideal. Our only choice is always, as Art Linkletter said, to "make the best of the way things turn out."

But in a culture of blame and entitlement, your problems never get solved because they are always someone else's fault. You can never move forward because circumstances are never ideal.

As the Israelis readied to withdraw, the Palestinian Authority prime minister announced "We are telling the entire world, today Gaza and tomorrow Jerusalem."

Instead of focusing on starting to build on what they had, the focus was the ongoing political agenda against the Israelis.

Soon the Palestinians were embroiled in a civil war, killing each other, until the terrorist group Hamas gained the upper hand in Gaza. Next on the agenda was smuggling in arms and shooting missiles into Israel.

Meanwhile, as result of the Israeli political decision to withdraw from Gaza, 8,500 Israelis that were living there were evicted from their homes and forced to move and build new lives elsewhere.

A group of these families picked up and moved several miles inland into a barren patch of arid desert along the Gaza/Egyptian border. They used the funds the Israeli government paid them as compensation for their property to invest and build a new agricultural community in the middle of nowhere.

There are now 180 families living in Halutza (Hebrew for "pioneer"). They pipe in desalinated water from the Mediterranean coast, fertilize the sand, and grow produce. Today, five years after being evacuated from Gaza, they are exporting $50 million dollars a year of organic potatoes, carrots and peppers from their new community.

Art Linkletter would call this "making the best of the way things turn out."

Halutza is the history of Israel in microcosm. Taking difficult and unfortunate circumstances and building anew.

Why I don't advocate war between Israel and Iran ~ By Jerome Corsi

Commentary from WorldNetDaily
Jerome Corsi By Jerome Corsi Posted: December 16, 2009 ~ 1:00 am Eastern © 2009 In a reference to my book "Why Israel Cant Wait: The Coming War Between Israel and Iran," Meir Javedanfar wrote on the Huffington Post, "Dr. Corsi, together with former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton, belongs to a cadre of American Republicans who have taken it upon themselves to champion an Israeli attack on Iran's nuclear installation as the only viable solution to the Iranian nuclear conundrum." "Why Israel Can't Wait" predicts that a war between Iran and Israel is imminent, but it does not recommend a war. Clearly, Javedanfar fails to appreciate the distinction between predicting a war and advocating a war. He suggests that marginalized and frustrated right-wingers "want to desperately see" a failure of President Obama's policies, at home and abroad, "as a vindication for their own policies and worldview." Again, Javedarfur fails to appreciate the difference between predicting President Obama's policies at home and abroad will fail and wanting those policies to fail. In "Why Israel Can't Wait," I predicted President Obama's policy of negotiating directly with the Ahmadinejad regime would fail because Iran would game the negotiations, just as Iran has done for years, if not decades. I further predicted in "Why Israel Can't Wait" that President Obama would not obtain meaningful additional sanctions through the United Nations because of Russia and China's support for Iran. Now that Lebanon has been voted onto the Security Council, the reality is that Hezbollah will block any adverse action that body contemplates in the form of more onerous sanctions applied against Iran. In authoring two books on Iran during the Bush administration and in scores of radio and television interviews, I have argued consistently that peaceful regime change from within is by far the best solution to stopping Iran's nuclear-weapons program. In June, when thousands of protesters poured into the streets of Tehran to protest the fraudulent re-election of President Ahmadinejad, President Obama once again failed to act in a way that produced positive policy results. Never did Obama demand new presidential elections in Iran to be held under meaningful international inspection. READ FULL STORY >

A tale of two walls ~ By Joseph Farah

Commentary from WorldNetDaily
By Joseph Farah Posted: December 14, 2009 ~ 1:00 am Eastern © 2009 Egypt is building a huge metal wall along its border with the Gaza Strip to cut down on smuggling and penetration by terrorists. When it is finished in 18 months, the super-strength steel wall that cannot be cut or melted will be about seven miles long and extend 60 feet below the ground to inhibit tunnel-digging. It is said to be impenetrable – however, no one doubts that smugglers and terrorists won't try to burrow beneath it. But it is a deterrent – a big deterrent. Interestingly, I have heard not one word of protest from the international community about this wall. Contrast this mute non-reaction to the tales of woe sung when the Israelis built similar security fences to protect its civilians from terrorist attacks from Palestinian Authority territories. That fence, now proven overwhelmingly effective in cutting down terrorist violence, was roundly and bitterly condemned and protested – with comparisons to the Berlin Wall and even Nazi concentration camps. That wall was protested by the major powers in Europe and the U.S. government. It was also protested personally by Barack Obama. What about this new wall Egypt is building for ostensibly the same reasons? Not a word of protest in the U.S. In fact, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is helping Egypt build it. Can anyone explain this dichotomy to me? The only difference I can see between the two projects is that one was built to protect Jewish civilians in Israel and the other is being built to protect Arab civilians in Egypt. Am I missing something? I want to go on record as supporting both walls. I'm all for walls to keep bad guys out. I'm opposed to walls built to keep citizens from escaping tyranny. It's just that simple. While we're on the subject of walls and their effectiveness against smuggling and terrorists, what about the U.S. border with Mexico? READ FULL STORY >

Day 11 of Operation Cast Lead

Day 11 of Operation Cast Lead saw some of the heaviest fighting yet in Gaza. On Monday night, 3 soldiers died and 24 others were wounded in North Gaza from "friendly fire" when a tank shell destroyed a house that they were using for cover. A fourth soldier, an IDF officer from the Paratroopers Brigade was also killed overnight during operations in the northern Gaza Strip. The IDF is investigating the possibility of another "friendly fire" incident. As Hamas continued to launch Kassam and Grad rockets at towns and urban areas in Southern Israel, 80 trucks carrying "humanitarian supplies" made their way into Gaza through the Kerem Shalom crossing. By 1 PM on Tuesday, the number of terrorist rockets falling in the south, while down from previous days, nonetheless hit 20. The Jerusalem Post's Yaakov Katz reports on the IDF's response to mortar fire at troops coming from a UN-run school in the town of Jabalya in northern Gaza, as well as other war news. To Gaza, with love ... Commentary by Craig R. Smith

Golda Meir once said, "We will have peace with the Arabs when they love their children more than they hate us." Israelis love their children and thus are willing to defend them against the desire of Hamas to destroy them. While Israel takes action against the terrorists of Hamas, the world is condemning them for doing what needs to be done.
