Paul Ryan on Ukraine: 'This Is What Happens When You Project Weakness Abroad' ~ By John McCormack

"The fear I have is that all the domestic problems the President has created, I know we can fix those," Ryan said. "I know we can fix the budget, the economy, health care if we win elections and put these good ideas that we’re offering in place. It’s the lasting damage to foreign policy and world affairs that’s going to be a deeper hole that we’re going to have to dig out of as a country. I really worry that he has put our foreign policy and our defense policy on such a bad trajectory that it’s going to have huge consequences that are going to last a long time in this world."
Could it be just a coincidence that within a week after Secy. of Defense Chuck Hagel announced that we were cutting the size of our military, Russia invades Ukraine? Probably not.

Let's go back about two years. Obama tells Russia he’ll be more flexible after election on Monday, Mar 26, 2012, from Jake Tapper (via TheBlaze.com):
At the tail end of his 90 minute meeting with Russian President Dmitri Medvedev Monday, President Obama said that he would have “more flexibility” to deal with controversial issues such as missile defense, but incoming Russian President Vladimir Putin needs to give him “space.”

The exchange was picked up by microphones as reporters were let into the room for remarks by the two leaders.
And here’s the exchange:
President Obama: On all these issues, but particularly missile defense, this, this can be solved but it’s important for him to give me space.

President Medvedev: Yeah, I understand. I understand your message about space. Space for you…

President Obama: This is my last election. After my election I have more flexibility.

President Medvedev: I understand. I will transmit this information to Vladimir.
Here is a short news story about the exchange between Presidents Obama and Medvedev from ... wait for it ... CBS News!

Can you say, "WE SHOULD'VE SEEN THIS COMING?"!!  I'm just sayin'...

The Weekly Standard

Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI)
In a radio interview Monday, House budget committee chairman Paul Ryan said that Russia's invasion of Ukraine is another result of President Obama's weakness on defense and foreign policy. "I think it’s one more chapter in what happens when you project weakness abroad through your foreign policy, through your defense policy, and aggression fills that vacuum," Ryan told radio host Michael Medved.
