You’ll Be Furious When You Hear About The “Stimulus” Bill ~ Ep. 1420 ~ The Dan Bongino Show

From the Dan Bongino Show's description of this episode in his Show Notes (a.k.a. Newsletter!):
In this episode, I discuss the disastrous “stimulus” bill and the infuriating pork loaded into it.

Since I had to take last night off, I'll have my work cut out for me, to get caught up this weekend.  So, yes, this is Tuesday's episode, on December 22, 2020.  But don't worry, there wasn't any problem yesterday, I was just busy working on Christmas stuff.  By the time I was done last night, it was too late for me to watch the show, and then coherently write about it.  Oh, and by the way, I have been listening to my Christmas music playlist while writing, and it is so very enjoyable!  I have 259 songs on the playlist right now, and it goes through the list randomly (in shuffle mode).  Really delightful listening, and it is that season!

Dan is so right about the politicians and bureaucrats in Washington, and probably a lot of states, being very unintelligent about economics.  Okay, they are either really stupid, or the other option:  They are out to destroy this great country.  Well, yes, destroying the economy will lead to destroying our freedom!  And that is sad, but it's going to happen if we don't figure out how to get our politicians to quit coming up with ways to spend our money that we don't have.  Dan is so right when he talks about the economic affects of printing money and how that leads to inflation!  You'll definitely want to pay close attention to those segments.  There are video clips of Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) and Dinesh D'Souza to support what Dan tells us.  Very important information, don't miss it!

The segment that will mean the most, and probably something you should, and will, remember the rest of your life, will be Dan's final words of the episode, just after Dinesh's clip about what Socialism is.  Starting at about 50:00 into the video, following the SimpliSafe spot, that you should keep in mind, just in case your kid comes home from college for the Christmas break, and starts spouting garbage about how great Socialism is that some professor fed them.  They will be misguided and confused about it.  You can help them out!  Yes, show them that last 20 minute segment that Dan does here, destroying any Communist propaganda that the kids come home with.  (Actually, that's already possibly the case with your kids that are still K-12 in the public schools!)

By the way, this may be my last issue until after Christmas Day, so that I can concentrate on the holiday, and family, to what ever extent I can.  So, have a very Merry Christmas!

Because I know that Dan Bongino would prefer that I embed the Rumble.com video here, I am now doing that! It finally came to me how to do it, and I am very pleased, because it doesn't require me to use the JavaScript code to do it! So, when you are watching, you will not be seeing it via youtube.com again. Nope, not here. Ever!  No more screwtube embedded video here! Forevs! So, it's now RUMBLE all the way, Dan.  For Dan's show page on Rumble.com, click here.

Living up to potential, and way beyond!

This all started while I was listening to Glenn Beck, and reading Phil Elmore's Notes on Facebook. In one of his notes, Phil writes:

"Every so often you encounter a gas station clerk who is clearly living up to his full potential."

I had a good chuckle, and nodded my head in agreement. But then, it got even better. Glenn Beck, on his radio show, played a clip of a statement made by Rep. Hank Johnson while questioning an Admiral about Marine troop movements to Guam. What the Congressman said was astounding. Genius! I had to immediately check for a clip on youtube just to verify it wasn't an April Fools' Joke! Apparently, it wasn't!

April 01, 2010 — Hank Johnson (Congress D-GA) - Warns Guam May Capsize

No, it is not an April Fools Day joke. Georgia Congressman Hank Johnson (Democrat) said during an Armed Services Committee hearing last week that Guam is in danger. My fear that the whole island will become so overly populated that it will tip over and capsize, he said in all seriousness.

We dont anticipate that, responded Adm. Robert Willard. For some reason he did not bust out laughing.

Johnson went on to warn about climate change.
Video provided by SpeakUpFightBack

So, do you see why we need to start being careful about who we elect to represent us? The gas station clerk that Phil referred to would probably have more potential than that elected representative to Congress. Or, maybe, at least a little more common sense!

Political autism ~ By Pat Boone

Pat Boone brings up the point that what the politicians in are doing Washington seems to be very similar to autism. Meanwhile, it's almost like this country has slipped through a portal into an alternate reality, a parallel universe, and Nancy Pelosi was just an automaton robot...
In a recent turn – with a wide-eyed, spooky stare and a mechanical, unnatural smile – she's been cooing, "Just help us pass this bill, and we'll all find out what's in it!" Yes, she said that exactly, and it's almost as if she's admonishing in a maternal way, "Children, just drink this Kool-Aid, and you'll find out eventually what's in it – it's good for you."

Autism is a tragic malady.

I became acquainted with it some years ago. My middle two daughters, both Lindy and Debby, when they graduated from high school, decided to take a break from school – they volunteered to work at Hathaway Ranch, a wonderful retreat and day-care center for kids with learning disabilities, including autism.

They came home after long days at Hathaway, sometimes buoyed and excited about some breakthrough with one or more of the kids they were working with, but more often weepy and heartbroken about the autistic kids.

"Daddy," they'd say, "these children are beautiful. They're intelligent, they look like the other kids, and they're physically healthy, just wonderful. But … they seem to be in some other world. They don't – it seems they can't – really focus on what we're trying to tell them, what we want them to do. Sometimes it's as if we don't exist. Some of the kids don't even look at us, and they don't want to be touched. Most seem to like doing certain things, but only their way, and no matter what anybody else is doing. We just can't seem to get through to them, no matter what we try."

And quite often, they'd shed tears over the seeming hopelessness of it all.

There was one hopeful breakthrough, though. Debby remembered a conversation we'd had about people's names and how ordinary common names usually have some meaning, some indication of a character trait. My name, for example, Charles Eugene Boone, means "well born man of blessing." (Don't ask why I've always been called "Pat"; that's another story.)

So she got hold of a book of people's names and their inherent meanings. And she experimented with telling some of her little charges what their names meant. And while it didn't happen quickly, as she'd repeat the meaning of their own names to the young kids at Hathaway, she established a rapport, and then a more open relationship. It seemed that hearing for the first time that their names indicated some value, sort of a promised or expected quality, maybe even a future, some of the kids made more of an effort to connect with Debby and to try to exhibit what their names indicated.

Popular actress Jenny McCarthy has just released a book about her previously autistic son – and the amazing progress she's had in bringing him out of the fog and separation of his malady through controlling his diet. Having come to the conclusion that he'd been adversely affected as a baby by some of the normal immunization shots, she put him on a new and stringent organic health diet – which she credits for his being now perfectly normal! The book is gripping and hopeful, and may point the way to real breakthroughs in treating this awful imprisonment named autism. My daughters and I congratulate Jenny and thank God for her son's new life.

My point here? I see striking parallels in our current political scene, today.

Whatever the cause (and I think I've diagnosed it), many of our elected leaders in Congress are behaving as if they've contracted a kind of "political autism." They seem strangely divorced from reality, out of touch with the people who elected them, unable to think rationally. They've collectively abandoned common sense and embarked on some wildly unreasonable courses, seemingly oblivious to the protests and outcries of a majority of American citizens, the very people whom they swore to represent and whose security and well-being they pledged to protect.

Even faced with dire consequences to their own futures and the very future of this country they profess to love, they are on the verge of saddling all of us with unimaginable, unprecedented, un-repayable debt, threatening to drive the United States of America into bankruptcy and economic ruin.

When sensible people try to show these "public servants" that they're plunging all of us over a precipice to financial destruction, they respond (if they even do respond) that they're "doing this for our good," that they're "giving us what we need, and all deserve," that we should honor them for signing into law a massive takeover of our whole health-care system, and that once it's enacted we'll all get to find out what's in this 2,700-page monstrosity of a bill, which even those voting on it can't understand, and many haven't bothered or had the opportunity to read.

Job creation, not gimmicks ~ By Herman Cain

Commentary from WorldNetDaily
The citizen activist movement that is growing across this country is no gimmick. It is getting bigger and bigger, and promises to produce even more election surprises in November of 2010 similar to what happened recently in New Jersey and Massachusetts.

Maybe then they will get it.

The president, his administration and most members of Congress still don't get it! So let's try to explain job creation another way. You stimulate the creation of jobs by reducing an employer's cost to keep people employed (less taxes) and then by reducing the cost of a business to grow their business (less regulations). If these two things happen, then jobs will be created.

Job creation is not a complicated phenomenon, but the president and the Democrats have been convinced that less taxes is bad, and more regulations are good. It's just the opposite, and there is plenty of historical evidence to prove it.

The Economic Report of the President was released last week by his Council of Economic Advisers. According to the Wall Street Journal, "the report offers few new policy prescriptions or economic forecasts." In fact, the administration still believes it can rebuild the economy through health-care legislation, clean-energy initiatives, infrastructure projects and small-business tax breaks.

Rep. Eric Cantor, R-Va., gave the most laser-like description of the report. "The Obama Administration's report is full of blame for the policies of years past, praise for its own failed policies of the past year, and promises about their ideological agenda to grow government."

Translation, the report is 400-plus pages of repackaged propaganda.

Of course the president restated his commitment to job creation, but most of the chatter from his administration and Congress about a new jobs bill is just another bunch of gimmicks that will do nothing to stimulate new job creation.

Just as "Cash for Clunkers" was a gimmick that did not work, the current offering of a $5,000 tax credit to employers who hire an unemployed worker, plus a limited-time suspension of part of their payroll taxes are just propaganda gimmicks.

Grass-roots rebellion: Voters targeting RINOs, incumbents ~ By Henry Lamb

Commentary from WorldNetDaily
Henry Lamb By Henry Lamb Posted: January 30, 2010 ~ 1:00 am Eastern © 2010 President Barack Obama told reporters that he rode the same wave of public anger into office that brought Scott Brown into Ted Kennedy's Senate seat. Not quite. The wave of public anger that elected Scott Brown is focused on Obama and the congressional Democrats who are pushing his policies. The public anger is more than justified. Both the president and Congress have turned a deaf ear to the expressed will of the people throughout the first year of the new administration. Even after the candidates Obama endorsed and campaigned for in Virginia, New Jersey and Massachusetts all lost convincingly, Democrat strategists are advising the leadership to "show character" by fighting even harder to impose government-controlled health care. They would, were it not for the inconvenient fact that every representative and 33 senators must face the "angry public" at the polls this year. All across the country, local, state, and national organizations are preparing to choose a new future for America. The future America wants is controlled by neither Democrats nor Republicans, but by elected officials who honor their pledge to "…preserve, protect, and defend" the U.S. Constitution. Instead of its 11th-annual national conference this year, one national grassroots organization is scheduling regional, state and local conferences around the country, focusing on ways to elect only those representatives who will publicly sign a pledge that includes ideas such as these:
  • I will vote for only that legislation which contains a citation to the specific authority granted in Article 1, Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution.
  • I will vote against any legislation that infringes the individual right to keep and bear arms.
  • I will vote for legislation that allows the use of domestic resources to achieve energy and food independence.
  • I will vote against any legislation that results in a federal takeover of any private corporation, institution or entity.
  • I will vote against any legislation that authorizes the United Nations to impose a tax, levy, fee, or royalty on the United States or any of its citizens.
These are basic constitutional principles that the federal government has forgotten over the years. The current leadership routinely ignores the limitation of power imposed upon Congress by the Constitution. This is the source of much of the public anger that has become so visible. Congress despairs when slaves can read ~ By Herman Cain

From WorldNetDaily
Herman CainBy Herman Cain Posted: October 19, 2009 ~ 1:00 am Eastern © 2009 House Resolution 554 was introduced on June 17 by Rep. Brian Baird, D-Wash. It would require a 72-hour reading period for all non-emergency legislation before a vote by the House of Representatives. It is stuck in committee. A motion, or discharge petition to force a House floor vote on the resolution was initiated by Rep. Greg Walden, R-Ore., on Sept. 23. It needs a simple majority of member signatures (218) to force a vote. As of this writing, the petition has only 182 signatures. We should not even have to petition Congress to read legislation before it takes a vote, nor should the public have to beg to see it for 72 hours. This is doubly insulting to the intelligence of the citizens of this country, and brazenly irresponsible on the part of the Democratic leaders in Congress. But here's why the resolution is needed. The "stimulus bill" of 1,073 pages was voted on within 12 hours after it was made available to members of Congress. The 1,420-page "Cap & Trade & Tax & Kill" bill was passed in 16.5 hours. One version of the health-care deform legislation was passed out of committee in 14 hours. The next huge legislation will be the backroom consolidation of the five health-care Trojan horses voted out of committees, and Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats do not want us to know what's in the bill before they vote on it. Suck it in, guys! ~ By Patrice Lewis

Patrice LewisBy Patrice Lewis Posted: August 15, 2009 1:00 am Eastern © 2009 We're getting by in the Lewis household during this harsh economic downturn. Not because we're making any more money than normal, but because – as usual – we're tightening our belts, cutting our spending and eliminating frills. This is not an easy process because we've tightened, cut and eliminated for such a long time that there isn't a whole lot left to purge from our budget. You see, we're pretty darned good at the lost art of frugality for the simple reason that we've had to be. So last February, we made the decision to get rid of our long-distance telephone service. Upgrading friends had given us two cell phones of the pre-pay kind, and we learned it was considerably cheaper to purchase a certain number of minutes every month and only call long-distance on the cell phones. There. Between 70 and a hundred bucks a month, saved. In this respect, I'm just following President Obama's advice, issued during that same month of February: to tighten our belts. Gosh, I love being patriotic by reducing our standard of living. And since we're all in this together, Obama assured us that he would halve the federal deficit by the end of his term. Of course, the deficit soared by $181 billion in July alone, so he'll have a lot of halving to do. But wait, there's more. Fast forward to July 29, when Obama told a town hall-style meeting in Raleigh, N.C., "We are going to have to tighten our belt, but we can't do it as the economy is coming out of recession." I see. I have to tighten my belt. You have to tighten your belt. But this administration can't tighten up its belt until the economy is out of the recession. Uh, logic anyone? Not sure how he can halve the federal deficit by spending billions on stimulus packages, corporate and mortgage bailouts, cash for clunkers and Obamacare. But I digress. To put this on a personal level, it's as if the Lewis household had decided that, in order to raise ourselves out of an individual recession, we purchased a $30,000 vehicle, invested in diamond jewelry, bought a vacation home in Aruba and stocked up on high-end consumer electronics … all by using credit cards. Uh, logic anyone? Doesn't this mean we'd be in more debt, not less? Doesn't this mean we'd have less money for critical purchases? How can you halve something by doubling it? Or am I just being dim here? Coincidentally, with this announcement that the government can't tighten its belt until the economy is out of a recession, we learn that Congress was seeking funding (to the tune of half a billion dollars) for additional private jets so Nancy Pelosi and her ilk can travel in style and comfort. How nice to know that Congress is enthusiastically embracing Obama's most recent advice and not bothering to tighten its belt. However, with regards to expanding "Congressional Airlines," a whole bunch of annoying fiscally conservative citizens raised such a stink that Congress backed down from its plans. But that's OK. There's lots of other stuff they can buy with our money in order to spend their way out of this recession. Good patriots, those congressional critters. Meanwhile we have doubly unemployed neighbors in danger of losing their home. Second harvest food distributions are brisk in our area, where unemployment hovers around 19 percent. Donations in our church are down. People in need of money are leaving town in search of work. Now we learn that even members of Congress are leaving town … though in their case, they're leaving town in search of information. I recognize how critical it is for Congress to tax our minimum-wage incomes and spend our money on fact-finding missions to Australia or Hawaii in their luxurious private jets, accompanied by various spouses, physicians, chaplains and other personnel. I know how necessary it is for politicians to learn about global warming and "to monitor how federal funds are spent" (hint: Air Force planes) by hitting every tourist destination south of the equator. The criminal case against ACORN ~ By Jerome R. Corsi

Congressional report demands probe, block of $8.5 billion in stimulus funds By Jerome R. Corsi © 2009 WorldNetDaily Posted: July 24, 2009 ~ 12:00 am Eastern In a move to block designation of $8.5 billion in economic stimulus funds, Republicans on a House committee released a report calling for a criminal investigation of ACORN, the community activist group tied to numerous charges of voter fraud nationwide. The 88-page report asks whether ACORN, the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, is intentionally structured as a criminal enterprise. Commissioned by Rep. Darrell Issa of California, the ranking Republican on the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, the report charges ACORN "hides behind a paper wall of nonprofit corporate protections to conceal a criminal conspiracy on the part of its directors, to launder federal money in order to pursue a partisan political agenda and to manipulate the American electorate." The report expresses concern that ACORN would channel $8.5 billion in economic stimulus funds through a criminal corporate structure designed to mask the distribution of public money to partisan activities, including voter fraud to advance the campaigns of radical Democratic politicians. "It is undisputed that ACORN engages in politically partisan activity," the report declared, noting ACORN was paid $832,000 by the Obama 2008 presidential campaign for get-out-the-vote efforts. One-third of the 1.3 million voter registration cards turned in by ACORN in 2008 were invalid, the report said, noting a series of criminal actions involving voter fraud have been taken against ACORN in Arkansas, Pennsylvania and Nevada since 1998. "ACORN cannot be receiving government money," Issa told Glenn Beck on the Fox News Channel in his first interview after releasing the report. "ACORN should lose its tax-free status." Within the last week, Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa, has introduced several amendments to various pieces of legislation to prohibit ACORN from receiving taxpayer funds and to prevent the group from helping carry out the 2010 census. Congressional Democrats have fought King's efforts, rejecting each amendment he has submitted. Since 1994, ACORN has received more than $53 million in federal funds, according to the report. Big Brother in your car ~ By Henry Lamb

By Henry Lamb Posted: July 18, 2009, 1:00 am Eastern © 2009 Last week's column about the coming shift to tax-by-the-mile devices in automobiles brought many interesting letters. One writer says he was working on this project way back in the 1980s when he was building special Buicks that would run on methanol for the Department of Energy, with on-board computers to control the car's operation. By 1993, test cars in Colorado were controlled from Pontiac, Mich. The popular "OnStar" system, promoted by Government Motors, is an outgrowth of this work. Another writer listed 15 different possible applications, such as shutting down the vehicle when its allotted emissions cap had been reached. Why not? The current cap-and-trade bill would limit industrial emissions and force each business to pay an extra tax for the privilege of emitting additional carbon dioxide. Why not arbitrarily assign a weekly or monthly cap on auto emissions and shut down the vehicle when that limit is reached? The new Global Positioning Satellite device would have that capability. Every American ought to be outraged that such a system is even contemplated. This system is the tool that makes slaves of every person who depends upon a vehicle. Every person should consider just how his life would be changed if he were required to get approval from the federal government to start his car. Another writer argues that the government has the authority and the right to impose whatever conditions it wishes, since driving on public roads is a privilege, not an individual right. His argument says the government may impose any condition it wishes on the license to use public roads. What will it take to restore common sense and rein in out-of-control government? Get Glenn Beck's latest book, inspired by Founding Father Thomas Paine This argument completely ignores the Fourth Amendment guarantee of the right to be secure from government intrusion without probable cause and due process. Does the government's right to tax trump the constitutional right to individual privacy? The proposed GPS road tax system could easily be programmed to listen to and record conversations inside any vehicle. It could stop a vehicle, lock the occupants inside and notify the "jack boots" that the occupants were en route to a tea party. We would hope that the federal government would never sink to the level of paranoia that gripped Nazi Germany. But then, we also hoped that the federal government would never sink to the level of labeling legal, peaceful assemblies, such as the recent tea parties, as gatherings of potential terrorists. Who would have believed, even five years ago, that the federal government would take over GM, much of the banking industry, and appoint more than 30 "czars" to administer government without congressional oversight? Who would have believed that Congress could be bullied into adopting a cap-and-trade program that deliberately increases the cost of energy for every American, with absolutely no offsetting benefit – except increased government control over the life of every citizen? Who would have believed that Congress would even consider allowing the government to take over the health care industry and create a system that allows government to ration health care and make life-and-death decisions for individual citizens? The Democratic socialists who have taken control of the federal government are giddy with their power. Their view of utopia is government control of virtually everything. In Cuba, people who owe their livelihood to Castro are not about to vote for anyone but Castro. The Democratic socialists are creating a society in which the vast majority of people are dependent upon the government for their livelihood. These are the people who are most likely to keep the Democratic socialists in power. [CONTINUE READING]

Our new trillion-dollar credit card - By Henry Lamb

Everyone in America wants the government to do something to end the economic tailspin – quick. The problem, of course, is that there is little agreement on what the government should do. Democrats, generally speaking, want to put a trillion dollars in purchases on a new credit card. The new purchases will provide the goods and services the government wants the people to have. Republicans, generally speaking, want to reduce taxes sufficiently to leave a trillion dollars in the pockets of the people so they can purchase the goods and services they want. The proposed solution is an awkward combination of the goals of the Democrats and the Republicans. At best, it is little more than a Band-Aid on a cancer that has been growing in America for half a century. It took Pearl Harbor to convince Americans of the threats to freedom that gathered in the 1930s. When called upon, Americans focused like a laser beam on doing whatever it took to defeat the enemies of freedom. Congress borrowed the money necessary to stoke the nation's manufacturing capacity to produce the goods needed to defeat the enemy. Men went to war; and women went to work. [Continue reading]

What Recession? Congresscritters Give Themselves $93K Raise!

It took me a few days before I found this one that was on Gateway Pundit. This story needs to gain exposure. Do not forget what they are doing!
Beautiful. At the same time Obama is wagging his finger at Wall Street for their year end bonuses and auto executives are being harassed for flying on private jets, the Democratic-led congress just gave each lawmaker an extra $93,000 in petty cash to spend. After all, it takes a lot of money to spend other people's money...
