By Joseph Farah © 2009 Seldom will you ever hear me beg an incumbent member of Congress to seek re-election. But that's what I am about to do today having learned that Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Okla., is still not sure he will seek a second term in 2010. I personally believe almost all members of Congress hang around too long. They get comfortable in Washington. They can't imagine going home and working for a living, again. They love being treated like royalty. The days of the citizen-legislator are over in America today. There are exceptions, however. One of them is Tom Coburn, who has truly made a difference during his years in the House and Senate. He has an impeccable reputation for honesty and sticking to his convictions and principles. He is so candid, in fact, even Democrats admire him – recognizing that he truly believes in constitutionally limited government and will never compromise on those beliefs. [Continue reading]
