MLK Jr.'s niece quotes her uncle following nights of violent protests ~ Fox & Friends Video

Dr. Alveda King joins Jedediah Bila on 'Fox & Friends.'
Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, a Democrat, says it like it is. She says, "We are better than this as a country." Right on, Sister!

And then, bring on Dr. Alveda King, niece of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Listen to what she says. Violence isn't the way to be heard. It doesn't bring us together. Come together, in faith, unity and love. And then communicate. And there is no need to scream at each other. That solves nothing.

I am hoping that this post gets around. It might, but it will depend on you. I'm not looking for any glory, other than from the Lord. Rather than destroying and stealing property, let's just calmly discuss what can be done to solve the problems of social injustice. I'm with you on that, but would much rather solve those problems peacefully. You are being heard. Now, stop the violence.

Don't Mix Turkey and Politics ~ By Sonnie Johnson

Don’t use Thanksgiving as an “I told you so” occasion. Look at the people that surround you, this is your family, by blood or by choice. Appreciate them. Find out about their lives and if there is something you can do to help. Congratulate them in their success and give them encouraging words to lift them from failure.

In short, don’t talk about your politics but act upon your principles. We are going to spend the next two years wrapped up in another political campaign. We are going to have plenty of time to disagree and fight. Take this time to understand, we are not fighting an enemy to the death, we are trying to shape the course of a nation with our family and friends.
While watching The Five yesterday on the Fox News Channel, I was introduced to Sonnie Johnson and this column. She is a winner, and so is this great column! It's something for us to consider tomorrow when we're together with family and friends. Don't create controversy. Just eat some turkey!

Now for those of you that don't know about Sonnie, let me introduce you to her:

Sonnie Johnson, CEO of Change the Game, interviewed by Jamie Glazov

Yeah, she's pretty cool, and she knows her stuff. She's the CEO of Change the Game (ctghq.org). She's conservative, and she tells it like it is for the black people of America. And she probably won't be making the liberals very happy, either. Oh, there was something she wrote (that I think was actually part of the discussion on The Five), which was her very recent column, "10 Questions Citizens of #Ferguson Should Ask Outside Agitators." Very profound, and interesting, because I had just been discussing that subject with a friend the night before. Anyway, being that Sonnie is now on our radar, you'll be hearing a lot from her in the future.

One last thing. With the holidays and various inflictions being spread around due to the nasty weather of Winter, there may be some times in the next month that the posts here could be somewhat sparse. Call it the "Lame Duck Months" of November and December following a national election, there are also fewer people online at this time, and I see a significant decline in readers and viewers of my work here. Yes, I will still do what I do during this time, though there may be periodic gaps when I just can't get a lot done. And following the troubles in Ferguson, Missouri, is probably more than I can deal with on my own. I was overwhelmed with just too much information, and I found myself being a victim of news-junkie overload.

But thanks to Sonnie Johnson, I found myself again motivated to do what I could today, and then we'll take a little break from politics for a few days. That will be SO nice. There is much to be thankful for this year, and many people to keep in our prayers. Have a very Happy Thanksgiving! And I'm not just sayin'...

If you watch Red Eye, you know how I feel about mixing alcohol and politics. Don’t do it. It's a recipe for disaster, at least if you are talking to me. I tend to not care a single iota about your feelings or reasoning and an intelligent conversation is impossible.

I have the same tendency towards mixing turkey and politics. Conservatives have to learn to be tactical. We can’t be starting a fight over the cranberry sauce because we are upset Obama wrote an executive order granting amnesty to 5 million illegal aliens. When your great aunt Lucy complains about her back pain, don’t blame it on Obamacare. Don’t divide the mashed potatoes to demonstrate the 46% of Americans that don’t pay a Federal income tax. You look like the jackass at the table.

The reverse is also true for the Progressives. Don’t spend 45 minutes preaching on the fuel efficiency of your Prius. No, our thoughts should not stay focused on all the third world countries that would never see such a feast. Please, Please don’t bring up any subject that involves your vagina.

Glenn Beck's departure from Fox News, Part 2 ~ By Robert Ringer

When I posted Part 1 of Robert Ringer's column about Glenn Beck yesterday, I had no idea that there would be two great surprises waiting for me. First, I had the largest number of page views on this blog for a single day, and of course, mostly for Robert Ringer's column. Second, I had assumed that Ringer would come out with Part 2 next week. Surprise! Here it is already! Hooo-RAH!

When I wrote my introduction yesterday for Part 1, I said the following:

Though I am greatly looking forward to the next part of Robert's series about Glenn, I am afraid I have thought of some possibilities already why he could be departing Fox News. It could be very ugly. I'm always afraid - very afraid - that somebody may not want Glenn to be talking about certain crimes and misdemeanors... And Glenn's current Crime Inc and Global Governance series may be more than some people want the "sheeple" to know. Please join me in praying for Glenn, his family, and his staff, for their safety.
As you read this installment Robert's column about Beck, you will see that I had hit at least one of his thoughts on the head. And again, please keep Glenn, his family and his staff in your prayers.

And before you get started reading this outstanding Robert Ringer piece, I will leave you with another video segment from the Glenn Beck show, this time from May 11, 2010. This video will also show you, as did the one I included yesterday, why Glenn is such a danger to the Obama agenda:

May 11, 2010 - Glenn Beck: Something's not right (May 11, 2010) Part 3 of 3

Video provided by TheREALjohnny2k

Do you see now why what Ringer writes - especially today - is so ominous? But yet, Robert has one other point to make, too, which may surprise you the most. Just sayin'...

Much like the Founding Fathers, I believe Beck has committed himself to using his fame, his fortune and his enormous talents to help defeat the poisonous progressive movement that is fundamentally transforming the United States into a destitute socialist nation.

So, the $64 question is: Will Glenn Beck ultimately conclude that he has no choice but to run for president?

And the $128 question is: Would enough Americans be willing to open their minds to the truths he would expose to elect him president?

In Part 1 of this article, I expressed my concern that Glenn Beck might not be around for the long term at Fox News. As I watch him strip BHO and other members of Crime Inc. down to their dirty underwear every day at 5 p.m., I ponder what the Obamaviks will do to try to stop him from destroying their efforts to transform the U.S. into a collectivist paradise.

In that regard, I can envision four possibilities for Beck's exit:

Assassination. On more than one occasion, Beck has alluded to cement boots and his ending up at the bottom of the East River. He has also assured his audience that he has no inclination to jump off a tall building, and if something like that would ever happen to him, it would not be accidental.

Even more ominous is that Beck continually tells his audience that this isn't about him, that each and every one of them must stand up and carry on the fight. When he says this, it sparks memories of Martin Luther King Jr.'s famous words at a Memphis rally the night before he was murdered: "I may not get there with you, but I want you to know tonight that we as a people will get to the promised land."

Anyone reasonably knowledgeable about political history knows that those on the far left unabashedly believe that their morally superior objectives justify the use of violence. The problem they have with Beck is that using violence to eliminate him is problematic, given that he has already warned the public to be on the lookout for his untimely demise.

So, let's assume – and hope – that no harm befalls Glenn Beck. What else, then, might cause him to leave Fox?

Roger Ailes retires or passes on. Roger Ailes has almost single-handedly propped up the free press in this country, being so good at his job that Fox News has been able to render its left-wing media competition almost irrelevant. When Ailes, who recently turned 70, leaves Fox, there is no assurance that Rupert Murdoch will pick a replacement with equally strong conservative beliefs.

If Roger Ailes is replaced by a "moderate," the new president of Fox would undoubtedly either terminate Beck or place restrictions on what he could and could not say. And if the latter occurred, you can be sure Beck would depart Fox – with his honor intact, as promised.

Rupert Murdoch passes on. Rupert Murdoch is still going strong, but the reality is that he's 79 years old. And Murdoch's children are liberals who have long complained that Fox News is too conservative. With Murdoch gone, there would surely be a major shakeup, and both Roger Ailes and Glenn Beck would quickly be out the door.

The Godfather option. Barack Obama knows that time is against him. With liberal Democrats dropping like flies in primaries and special elections, he can't afford to wait too long for Roger Ailes to retire or Rupert Murdoch to die.

Solution? Just send "the boys" over to have a little chat with Murdoch and make him "an offer he can't refuse." In keeping with diversity czar Mark Lloyd's stated objective to force "some people to step down to make room for others," the offer might be as straightforward as: If you get rid of Glenn Beck, Fox News can stay on the air. Otherwise …

Kind of the Obamafia's version of putting a bloody horse's head in someone's bed to improve his perception of reality.

So where does Beck go if he departs Fox News? On at last one occasion, he said that even if the bad guys succeed in forcing him off radio and television, he will come back with a louder voice and larger platform than ever. I found that to be a tantalizing statement, one that caused me to speculate on what such a platform might be.

Of course, the biggest platform of all would be president of the United States. Beck says he would never run for president, because he wouldn't want to risk losing his soul, the implication being that a person can't run for president and keep his honor intact.

I thought about this recently when Beck did an in-depth show on George Washington. He emphasized that what made Washington unique was that he did not want to be president. He accepted the office only out of a sense of duty, and refused to stay in office longer than two terms.

I believe Beck sees himself in much the same way. I think he feels a sense of duty to do whatever he can to save America. He knows George Washington did not want to be president, and says that "Americans are looking for someone like George Washington."

How I filled out my Census form ~ By Joseph Farah

Joseph asks why the 2010 Census needs to know your race. And that, I agree, is a very good question. I can't see any benefit or need to know.
Let's not fall into the traps of the past by thinking we're somehow immune to the injustices of the past.

Indeed we are all of one race in God's eyes – the human race.

Fortunately for me – and maybe for the government – I got the short-form Census questionnaire.

Judging from the questions, it seems the government is primarily obsessed with tracking racial information about the U.S. population.

Besides the names, ages and sex of each person living in households, the rest of the questions have to do with race.
  • There's a special section dealing with those of Hispanic, Latino or Spanish origin. Why, I don't know.
  • Next, participants are asked to classify themselves as white, black, American Indian, Alaskan Native, Asian Indian, Chinese, Filipino, Other Asian, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Native Hawaiian, Gaumanian or Chamorro, Samoan or other Pacific Islander.
  • Lastly, there's a checkbox for some other race.
I checked that last box and wrote in HUMAN.

Why?

Because I believe, Like Martin Luther King Jr. did, that America ought to be a color-blind society in which men and women are judged by their character rather than their skin pigment.

Because I believe that people shouldn't treat each other differently based on the color of their skin, especially the government.

Because I believe it is of no consequence whether someone is black, white, brown, red or Guamanian and that it is, quite frankly, none of the government's business asking questions like that anymore than it would be for an employer in the private sector.

Ask yourself: Why these questions?

What does it have to do with congressional apportionment?

That's the purpose of the Census, after all.

That's why it is authorized in the Constitution.

Why all these other questions – even on the short form? Why is this essential information for the government to have? What is the purpose? Can someone explain this? Can anyone come up with one valid reason for this obsession over racial and national identity?

This is America.

This is the great melting pot.

This is the land of assimilation.

Why the official race-consciousness?

Is this as distasteful to others as it is to me?

King, Brown, and Haiti ~ By John Kubicek

From BreakdownofAmerica.com
By John Kubicek January 19, 2010 Like Rush Limbaugh, I have my stack of stuff that I’d love to write about today. There’s the National Holiday for Martin Luther King, Jr., which brings all kinds of things to mind, such as the fact that I think it is WONDERFUL that we have a holiday to celebrate his unfortunately shortened life. We SHOULD have a day to celebrate his contribution to our society, and most appropriately, to honor what he stood for. And then, there is the race for the Senate seat vacated by the late Senator Edward “Teddy” Kennedy, between Scott Brown, a Republican, and Martha (or is it Marsha?) Coakley, the Democrat. Not too long ago, Coakley was the obvious heir-apparent to become the next Senator for Massachusetts. We’ll know later today, but that doesn’t seem to be a shoe-in any more. Last, but not least, there was the powerful earthquake in Haiti that reduced their largest population center, Port-Au-Prince, to rubble and left dead bodies “littering” the streets. With the news coverage that we see, there should be absolutely no doubt that Haiti is now exemplary of a true Hell on Earth. I told a friend that I didn’t know which of the events I should write about today. The feedback that I received was that the three events could be combined into one piece. And, yes, I believe that can be done here, but give me a minute to get this all together. Whether we are talking about Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., the vast devastation in Haiti, or Republican Scott Brown coming out of nowhere to challenge the heir-apparent to the Ted Kennedy Senate seat, Democrat Martha Coakley, all are monumental uphill battles to change the way things are. King succeeded in doing what he set out to do. We’ll find out to day if Scott Brown will be successful, or not. And, whether or not Haiti can make it, we may not know for years. And now, we get to the reason all three of these events have a common thread: The fight for FREEDOM. READ FULL STORY >

I have a dream, too ~ By Joseph Farah

Commentary from WorldNetDaily
Joseph Farah By Joseph Farah Posted: January 18, 2010 ~ 1:00 am Eastern © 2010 Martin Luther King had a dream. He told about his dream shortly before an assassin cut his life short:
"I have a dream today. "I have a dream that one day every valley shall be exalted, every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight, and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together. "This is our hope. This is the faith with which I return to the South. With this faith we will be able to hew out of the mountain of despair a stone of hope. With this faith we will be able to transform the jangling discords of our nation into a beautiful symphony of brotherhood. With this faith we will be able to work together, to pray together, to struggle together, to go to jail together, to stand up for freedom together, knowing that we will be free one day. "This will be the day when all of God's children will be able to sing with a new meaning, 'My country, 'tis of thee, sweet land of liberty, of thee I sing. Land where my fathers died, land of the pilgrim's pride, from every mountainside, let freedom ring.' "And if America is to be a great nation this must become true. So let freedom ring from the prodigious hilltops of New Hampshire. Let freedom ring from the mighty mountains of New York. Let freedom ring from the heightening Alleghenies of Pennsylvania! "Let freedom ring from the snowcapped Rockies of Colorado! "Let freedom ring from the curvaceous peaks of California! "But not only that; let freedom ring from Stone Mountain of Georgia! "Let freedom ring from Lookout Mountain of Tennessee! "Let freedom ring from every hill and every molehill of Mississippi. From every mountainside, let freedom ring. "When we let freedom ring, when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God's children, black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics, will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual, 'Free at last! free at last! Thank God Almighty, we are free at last!'"
Freedom, freedom, freedom, freedom. That was the King message. Martin Luther King talked a lot more about freedom than he did rights. He was clear on where true freedom and rights came from. That distinction has been obliterated in today's teaching about him. Why? Because freedom cannot be doled out by government. Government would prefer to define the limits of your freedom by arbitrarily creating new "rights" and disabusing us of the notion that rights are God's unalienable gifts to all humanity. I, too, have a dream. READ FULL STORY >
