People support mandatory drug tests for welfare recipients

My answer is no. I guess this may make me a libertarian, but I'm fed up with federal, state or local governments getting more and more into our lives. In fact, I'd rather see the government not even be involved in welfare. But then, we need to also define "welfare" and who should get it. There are so many variables involved that it is mind-boggling.
ReplyDeleteHowever, when socialism and lack of personal responsibility are taught in the schools, to suddenly throw the losers in society to the wolves when things go wrong is obscene and cruel. Maybe we need to first start with how we educate the kids before we mess with the welfare system (anymore, considering how messed up it is already.) The first thing that needs to be taught is about Personal Responsibility - rather than depending on the government to take care of them. Prepare them for life, in other words. Duh....
