Time 2 Escape WIFLI Briefing for Tuesday, Mar 6, 2012

Welcome to this edition of Time 2 Escape WIFLI Briefing!

What is WIFLI?
You may be wondering what the acronym "WIFLI" means. I started out by calling these issues the Time 2 Escape Daily, but that didn't work out very well. I quickly learned that putting these issues together on a daily basis was a task I was unable to accomplish. To replace "Daily" in the title, I coined the acronym WIFLI, which literally means "When I Feel Like It." Putting together a post on this blog WIFLI works much better for my schedule, and for the higher quality of each issue that is eventually published!

Please excuse me if I don't blush when I gush about this great edition of the Time 2 Escape WIFLI Briefing, for it is an excellent representation of the main theme of the stories and columns featured below.  (And, remember, it is Super Tuesday.... Very fitting!)

When our highly esteemed colleague and patriot Andrew Breitbart suddenly passed away, it was definitely a shock for many of us that knew him or were aware of his work. As Joseph Farah states, when somebody that is only 43 years of age with a wife and four children suddenly passes, "It’s just not right."

The total weirdness of the sudden, unexpected death of such a luminary that has found and brandished the weapon of mass destruction - the truth - against the colossal corruption going on in our society and politics seems to be a lot more than some people want to deal with. As Barbara Simpson writes, "Despite speculation there might have been foul play because of his new investigation of Barack Obama’s college days – which is not out of the realm of possibility...", the truth is, we still have the sorrow and grief for his family to deal with.

But sure enough, there are those out there that believe that Andrew's death was caused by the dark forces of evil wishing to prevent more revelations from becoming public. And though that is a topic that will be debated for many years, that isn't really what this particular post is about. (But don't worry, I did make sure that Alex Jones gets his two cents included below.)

Not taking away anything from the conspiracy theorists - and they may have a point - the real reason for me to focus on Andrew Breitbart today is to honor him by recognizing his leadership in the field of "citizen journalists," most of whom will never earn a nickel for doing what we do. The whole thing to remember is that there will not be just a 1,000 citizen journalists who will continue to fight for our freedom in our own ways, with the abilities that are God-given, but probably somewhere in the millions of us will carry on. That would fill up a lot of detention facilities (i.e., re-education camps)!

"They" may be able to take out one hero like Andrew Breitbart, if that is the case, but the pulse of those that desire to stay free will never, ever cease. The citizen journalists can't be silenced without a total purge. As I wrote on my facebook status one day: "Let me be perfectly clear: They will have to pry my grasp of Freedom from my cold, dead hands." Andrew Breitbart never ceased to keep trying to help us keep our liberty that our forefathers fought for. I'm just sayin'...

Breitbart legacy lives on in relaunched websites, final column
Via InfoWars.com: Breitbart’s Final Column Was Part of ‘Vetting Obama’ Series
From The Daily Caller ~ By Matthew Boyle ~ Published: 12:00 AM 03/05/2012

The late media mogul Andrew Breitbart’s final column was released Sunday night on a newly redesigned website that includes all of his “Big” sites under a single umbrella.

The column, which examines Obama’s admiration for radical community organizer Saul Alinsky, is titled “The Vetting, Part 1: Obama’s Love Song to Alinsky.”

Andrew Breitbart
Breitbart had planned the “Vetting” Obama series before his sudden death last Thursday at age 43. He announced the project during a speech at February’s Conservative Political Action Conference.

Breitbart said he didn’t believe the mainstream media did its job properly investigating President Obama’s past during the 2008 election and he would do the job the media failed to do this time around.

“I’ve got videos — this election we’re going to vet him,” he said in his CPAC speech, adding that “racial division and class warfare were central” to Obama’s 2008 “hope and change” slogans.

In his final column, Breitbart explored Obama’s decision in 1998 as a Illinois state senator to participate in a panel discussion after the performance of a new play celebrating the life of Alinsky.

Here is an excerpt from the introduction to Andrew's last column, "The Vetting, Part I: Barack's Love Song To Alinsky."
Prior to his passing, Andrew Breitbart said that the mission of the Breitbart empire was to exemplify the free and fearless press that our Constitution protects--but which, increasingly, the mainstream media denies us.

“Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?” – “Who guards the guardians?” Andrew saw himself in that role—as a guardian protecting Americans from the left’s “objective” loyal scribes.

Andrew wanted to do what the mainstream media would not. First and foremost: Andrew pledged to vet President Barack H. Obama.

Breitbart: “Wait ‘Til They See What Happens March 1st”
Breitbart died hours before planned release of damning Obama footage
From InfoWars.com ~ By Paul Joseph Watson ~ Posted Friday, March 2, 2012

In a stunning coincidence, It appears Andrew Breitbart suffered his untimely death just hours before he was set to release damning video footage that could have sunk Barack Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign.

Andrew Breitbart
Around three weeks ago on February 9 during the ‘Blog Bash’ event in Washington DC, Breitbart made a prophetic comment that takes on a somewhat chilling nature given the fact that he died in the early hours of March 1st.

Speaking to Lawrence Sinclair of Sinclair News, Breitbart stated, “Wait til they see what happens March 1st.”

It’s almost certain that Breitbart was referring to his plan to release damning footage of President Obama that he had been promising to reveal throughout the month of February.

As we reported yesterday, Breitbart spoke of his intention to release the tape during his CPAC speech last month. The footage shows Obama in his college days appearing alongside former Weather Underground terrorists Bill and Bernardine Dohrn. Observers had speculated that the footage could have derailed Obama’s hopes for a second term.

The fearlessness of Andrew Breitbart has spread throughout the new media. This investigative story by The Daily Caller exemplifies the fact that " ... when someone of Breitbart's magnitude passes, there are another 1,000 people that will continue where somebody like Andrew left off.":

Secretive nationwide network gives SEIU new organizing muscle
Via THEBLAZE ~ From The Daily Caller ~ By Richard Pollock ~ Published: 2:14 AM 03/05/2012

This is the first in a Daily Caller investigative series.

The politically aggressive Service Employees International Union (SEIU) has quietly created a national network of at least eight community-organizing groups, some of which function alongside the Occupy Wall Street movement, a Daily Caller investigation shows.

Incorporated by the SEIU as local non-profits, the groups are waging concerted local political campaigns to publicly attack conservative political figures, banks, energy companies and other corporations.

Each local group has portrayed itself as an independent community organization not tied to any special interest. But they were founded, incorporated, and led by SEIU personnel.

The individual activist groups use benign-sounding names including This Is Our DC; Good Jobs, Great Houston; Good Jobs, Better Baltimore; Good Jobs Now in Detroit; Fight for Philly; One Pittsburgh; Good Jobs LA; and Minnesotans for a Fair Economy.

In reality, they are creations of the wealthy and influential labor union, amounting to a secret network of new SEIU front groups.

COMMENTARY

I will start the conversation with the commentary regarding Andrew Breitbart by relating to you what I wrote within a couple hours after hearing the news and knowing it was confirmed:

Time 2 Escape WIFLI Special Edition: Andrew Breitbart dead at 43
From Blogging In Our Time 2 Escape ~ Posted Thursday, March 01, 2012, 11:18 A.M.

~ A Time 2 Escape WIFLI SPECIAL EDITION ~

ANDREW BREITBART
A very short time ago, when the story first broke on Fox News and then on Glenn Beck's radio show, I found out that Andrew Breitbart had passed away early today (or late yesterday?) from "natural causes."

It was a very big shock. I had just woke up from a very much needed power nap here in my office (darn, missed about 20 minutes of Glenn Beck's show!) when the story broke on Fox News, and so I pinched myself to make sure it wasn't just a dream, or a terrible nightmare. Very unfortunately, I was wide awake, and it really did happen.

The news hit me very hard. The things that Andrew had worked on in the last few years were fearless. He was a courageous patriot that exposed the corruption in government. Andrew understood that Americans needed to know what is really going on. He exposed ACORN back in 2009, with the help of undercover videographers James O'Keefe and Hannah Giles.

The fearlessness and courage of the man and his associates is matched by very few.

Back in the day before the WIFLI editions, I used to write about various commentaries by other patriots, one being Victoria Jackson that often received my accolades. This story was very fitting for this issue concerning Andrew Breitbart's influence on the New Media. My excerpt from this commentary will be from the introduction that I had written:

I know Andrew Breitbart! ~ By Victoria Jackson
From Blogging In Our Time 2 Escape ~ Posted Monday, April 25, 2011, 10:04 A.M.

I was finally able to read Victoria's column from last Friday morning. I'm a little behind on my reading. There is no shortage of brilliant columns to immerse ourselves in. Great media is coming at us 24/7/365 (366 next year!). And now with twitter and facebook and text messages telling us what our friends are reading or watching, there really is an infinite number of ways to entertain - excuse me, I mean educate - ourselves. Things just keep getting more hectic! But I am glad that I finally got to read Victoria's column. I learned a few things.

You will understand the gravity of the second paragraph of the excerpt above once you read down further. But first, make sure that you play the video below where Andrew Breitbart explains the citizen journalist movement to Sean Hannity:

~ Video provided by Fox News ~

It is all about CITIZEN JOURNALISM! I emphasize that point, because that is what this column is really about... for me. Sure, the actual theme of the column is that liberals can turn Conservative. Victoria and Andrew had once believed that they were liberals. They had at one time bought into the liberal lies... I mean ideologies. They became Conservatives. Don't forget, Ronald Reagan did the same thing.

Farewell to Bo Diaz (aka Andrew Breitbart)

JOSEPH FARAH
WASHINGTON – You don’t expect to wake up in the morning to learn that a friend, colleague and fellow co-conspirator – 15 years your junior – has died.

It’s just not right.

That’s the news I got today about Andrew Breitbart, someone I have known and admired for nearly 15 years.

I still can’t believe it. All who knew him were hoping that someone had hacked into his website this morning and posted the news as a cruel joke. That would be just like Andrew’s enemies. But, alas, the unbelievably tragic announcement was confirmed.

Goodbye, Andrew, and thank you
Exclusive: Barbara Simpson ponders sting and suddenness of death

From WND Commentary ~ By Barbara Simpson ~ Published Mar 4, 2012
BARBARA SIMPSON
The morning I heard that Andrew Breitbart was dead, I was barely awake as the radio announcement broke through my groggy brain. The news, however, snapped me to attention and I began a day that drifted between the radio and the Internet to get the news, the updates, the speculation and the remembrances.

I didn’t know Andrew personally, but he was a guest on my KSFO radio program many times, always generous with his time and comments.

He was outspoken, brash, courageous and tireless.

I loved the story of his life from wild-child liberal to wild-man conservative! I admired him and his work and his accomplishments. He made my job easy, but his job was never-ending and difficult, battling the establishment.

The love/hate relationship Andrew’s work engendered was apparent in the reactions to his death.

Conservatives, those who were friends and those who were fans, lamented the loss and praised his diligence and courage in exposing the hypocrisy in today’s culture and politics.

To call the liberals predictable in their reaction to Breitbart’s passing would be generous. They were like lemmings going over the cliff, and their veiled insults were almost pleasant compared to the viciousness of blogs and tweets that relished in delivering the most egregious insults.

But the one aspect of his death was the suddenness. According to reports, he was fine, went out for an evening walk, stopped for a glass of wine and spent some time in good conversation and on his way home, dropped dead. Literally. He was 43.

Despite speculation there might have been foul play because of his new investigation of Barack Obama’s college days – which is not out of the realm of possibility...

Breitbart's final message to the left
Star Parker: 'Irony is that truth and compassion come from humility, not pride'
From WND Commentary ~ By Star Parker ~ Published Mar 2, 2012

STAR PARKER
If you think about it, Andrew Breitbart’s untimely passing from this life, at the age of 43, might be seen as the ultimate message that this man of media could deliver.

Breitbart famously used his media talent, particularly his facility with new media and new journalism, to fight the agenda of the left.

And what could strike more effectively at the heart of the premises of the left than the inscrutable death of a young and prodigiously talented and successful man, still scaling the heights of achievement, husband and father to four young children.

The fact is that the inconceivable and the unanticipated is the rule of our lives rather than the exception. Nothing more clearly defines the line which separates the political left from the political right than appreciation of this fact.

The left, after all, is about the pretense of planning, power and control. It’s about the belief that man – political man – can define and control the world and can appoint himself the final authority to determine what is fair and mete out justice.

Yes, it is true, I can not avoid telling you that there will be plausible suspicions regarding the death of Andrew Breitbart. That is part of this story, after all. To bring some light to the possibility, I can always depend on Alex Jones, who you can entrust to come up with that alternative possibility that many may not even think about.

Did The Obama Crime Machine Kill Breitbart?

Video provided by TheAlexJonesChannel on Mar 1, 2012

It took LA a week to declare the cause of death for Whitney Houston but they knew 2 hours after Andrew Breitbart's death that it was natural and they told the world as fast as they could. Andrew said he would release film that would hurt Obama and now he is dead. It goes on and on and if that film dose not get released in full I call shenanigans.

Organized labor vs. the tea party ~ By Henry Lamb

Labor unions, especially public-employee labor unions, have become a threat to the republic. They have demonstrated a philosophy closely akin to Marxism, demanding ever more from taxpayers to redistribute to their members. These unions are different from those that organize in private industries. Private industries must negotiate with profits they earn. Public unions negotiate with employers who use unearned tax dollars they simply confiscate from unwilling payers. There is no natural barrier to prevent the unions from taking control. This is why public employees are paid so much more than people who do similar work in the private sector.

Tea parties get no automatic dues deductions from the employers of their members. They will have to continue fighting with truth, honor and determination. It will take a lot of all of these virtues to combat the tactics the unions will employ to unseat Republicans in the 2012 elections. From the courthouse to the White House, labor unions will do everything they can to reverse the gains made by Republicans in the November elections. Tea parties, 9/12 groups, property-rights groups, Tenth Amendment groups, gun–rights groups and every other individual, business and organization that cares about freedom should begin now to work toward expanding the number of Constitution-loving officials at every level of government.

Here's the thing: I could not think of anything that I could write that would not just be parroting Henry Lamb's excellent commentary. But fortunately, while surfing around youtube today, I happened to find the following video which illustrates what the Tea Parties are up against:

Organized labor vs. the tea party
HENRY LAMB

Editor's note: Listen to this column online.

Gov. Scott Walker and the Wisconsin Legislature kicked a rattlesnake when they significantly reduced the power of the state's public-employee labor unions. Labor unions across the country have declared war on Republicans, even threatening death, and the tea parties that support them.

A battle between organized labor and the tea parties is decidedly a one-sided battle. Organized labor receives regular income from every member, often deducted by the employer and paid directly to the labor union. National Education Association attorney, Bob Chanin says:

"The NEA and its affiliates are effective advocates because we have power. And we have power because there are more than 3.2 million people who are willing to pay us hundreds of millions of dollars in dues each year. …"

Tea parties, on the other hand, survive on the voluntary contributions of people who give to support their beliefs.

Labor unions can lease buses and print signs and pay members of other unions to stack their demonstrations. Tea-party members must take time off from work and make their own signs if they participate in demonstrations.

Labor union protesters, to some significant degree, are essentially mercenaries; Tea-party protesters are patriots. This gives tea parties a decided advantage. People who are motivated by principle, a sense of fairness, honor and respect for the God-given freedom guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution will win – in the long term.

In the short term, labor unions can and are likely to wreak havoc in every venue they can. In Wisconsin, labor unions disrupted operations, vandalized the Capitol and blocked people from entering the building.

In the short term, labor unions are organizing to recall eight Republicans. It is the 14 Democratic senators who should be recalled for abandoning their responsibility and hiding in another state for three weeks. Labor unions can assign and pay people to march up and down the streets to collect signatures. Labor unions can create and run TV and radio ads. Labor unions can, and do, threaten and intimidate people until they do the bidding of the unions. Tea parties rarely have the funds or inclination for such activities.

Tea parties have reason, right and determination on their side; labor unions have demonstrated their willingness to destroy whatever gets in their way.

GOP's problem: Going on the defensive ~ By Robert Ringer

Since a person's business is his property, his right to do with it as he pleases (including banning unions) is already guaranteed by the Constitution. But, much like the Second Amendment, the purpose of a new amendment would be to underscore a specific liberty that every individual naturally possesses – in this case, the freedom of an owner to make whatever rules he chooses with regard to his business.

Progressives are not capable of comprehending the concept of liberty, but perhaps a rash of clearly worded amendments to the Constitution is what is needed to force them to behave themselves.

Robert starts out by showing how the progressives are "ratcheting up their smear tactics, vile verbal assaults and lies" in order to counter the Republicans in Wisconsin, and any other state where the unions are being reigned in. As reprehensible as it is, progressives will always stoop to utilizing any tactic because this could be their last chance. As Robert says, though, "none of this would matter if Republicans would straighten their backbones and do the bidding of those who gave them a majority in the House last November."

Robert then segues into the next subject, summarized at the top of this page, with the following two paragraphs:
In a 2008 radio interview, Barack Obama said: " … the Supreme Court never ventured into the issues of redistribution of wealth, and of more basic issues such as political and economic justice in society." In that same interview, he went on to say that the Constitution "[says] what the federal government can't do to you, but doesn't say what the federal government or state government must do on your behalf."

That's right, Barack, the Constitution did not venture into the issues of redistribution of wealth or political and economic justice, and did not say that the government was supposed to do anything on any individual's behalf. Which means that the argument from the left is based on a false premise – that public-sector unions have a right to collectively bargain. They do not.
The issue that Robert brings up is important: Property rights. Phil Elmore, in his column this last week, had made this very astute observation regarding property rights:
This means that you necessarily have the right to possess property if you can indeed acquire it. Claims to the contrary made by Marxists, collectivists and Michael Moore are empty. If you have no right to possess property once you have obtained it, those making this assertion must be making it naked while floating in empty rooms from which even air has been evacuated.
If both Robert and Phil are correct, which I believe they are, business owners have the right to do what they want with their property, whether it is to ban union activity or to allow people to smoke cigarettes on their business property. That being said, Robert is definitely right: "...perhaps a rash of clearly worded amendments to the Constitution is what is needed..."

GOP's problem: Going on the defensive
ROBERT RINGER

On March 4, Rasmussen Reports released a poll that showed 60 percent of Wisconsin voters disapproved of Gov. Scott Walker, and 48 percent "strongly" disapproved of him. The progressive campaign to destroy the Wisconsin governor is yet another sign that the radical left is growing ever more desperate.

They are rapidly ratcheting up their smear tactics, vile verbal assaults and lies. Knowing that they may not have another opportunity like this for decades to come if they should fail to achieve their objective to paint America red, they consider every tactical trick – no matter how reprehensible – to be on the table.

I doubt most everyday citizens ever thought about the possibility of angry government employees implementing a '60s-style takeover of a state capitol building. Or 14 Democratic senators leaving the state to avoid voting on legislation that was not to their liking. Now, the massive negative-ad blitz has gone beyond ugly, and it's clear that it's being orchestrated by Obama and his union pals. (Richard Trumka, AFL-CIO president, has openly bragged that he talks to the White House every day and visits "two to three times a week.")

I find it quite interesting that the far left is a minority in the United States, as it has been in all other countries where collectivist revolutions have succeeded in taking control of the government. The reason for this noxious minority's success is that its members believe so strongly in their moral superiority that they are able to rationalize the most outrageous lies, raucous protests and, if necessary, out-and-out violence. Plain and simple, they believe their noble end justifies any and all means necessary to achieve it.

As they have demonstrated throughout history, the progressives have an endless array of tools at their disposal. First and foremost, they are masters at recruiting and utilizing "useful idiots" – e.g., the Hollywood crowd, college kids and the totally uninformed (i.e., those who are obsessed with college and pro sports, buying and learning how to use the newest digital gadgets, and tales of the latest adventures of Lindsay Lohan, Charlie Sheen and Paris Hilton). To the government's delight, their lives are so filled with bread and circus that there is no time to notice that Western civilization is burning to the ground.

But none of this would matter if Republicans would straighten their backbones and do the bidding of those who gave them a majority in the House last November. Unfortunately, at least at this point, it doesn't appear that is going to happen.

Take Wisconsin, for example. Some Republicans are now responding to union and Democratic threats and verbal abuse – not to mention increasing violence by the protesters in the state capitol building – by going on the defensive. Sadly, they are falling prey to the progressives' age-old strategy of changing the nature of the debate.

The focus in Wisconsin should be on how to get the protesters out of the capitol building and what steps need to be taken to get them fired from their jobs. The focus should be on finding the fastest method for getting recall petitions under way to remove the 14 AWOL Democratic senators from office. The focus should be on prosecuting both teachers and doctors who were involved in the writing and receiving of fraudulent medical excuses.

A union of corruption ~ By Patrice Lewis

When you read the full text of this column, Patrice includes an example of a mythical scenario of negotiation between a company CEO and a union boss... The union boss makes this ridiculous demand:
Union boss: … and we want an additional $25 dollars an hour for our members, two weeks extra vacation per year, a fully funded pension that provides our workers 100 percent of their highest take-home pay for the rest of their lives and comprehensive health insurance for our members, their families and significant others.

Now let's see – if this were a real company, the debate would have ended after the first impossible demand. But this isn't a real company. It's a government negotiating with a public service employees union. And neither the union boss nor the company chairman gives a damn about the people they represent. The union boss, who makes a CEO-sized salary, has no problem with requiring his people to support an unpopular executive. The company chairman doesn't mind screwing the company as long as the gravy train comes his way. And both of them couldn't care less about the stockholders. (That would be us, the taxpayers.)

There is no adversarial relationship in this negotiation. The union boss and the company chairman are partners. And we, the citizens, are the adversary. In a real-world business, this kind of behavior would warrant criminal investigation. But in the world of politics, it's business as usual.

So before you applaud a union, make sure you know what kind it is. Be sure to read the union label. You might be surprised by what's written in the small print.
Patrice brings up a subject that should be at the top of every discussion regarding the huge budget deficits of most state governments and probably many city governments. The problem with public service employee unions is very well explained in this column, and in the following video that I put on youtube last week:

A union of corruption
PATRICE LEWIS

By Patrice Lewis

February 26, 2011 ~ 1:00 am Eastern

© 2011

A few days ago, my homeschooled daughters were finishing up their school work and, as usual, we ended with a discussion of current events. After talking for a while over the protests in Wisconsin, my eldest asked if I thought unions were bad. I answered that I most certainly did not because I firmly believe belonging to a union is part of our God-given rights enumerated by the First Amendment concerning freedom of speech, the right to assembly and the consequent freedom of association.

But then I went on to explain that just because workers form unions to collectively bargain for better working conditions doesn't make them any different or more noble than the companies they negotiate with.

What do I mean? I mean that a union is simply a business, no different than the businesses they bargain with. A union is nothing more than a talent agency. Its purpose is to offer a company skilled and trained employees. And like any other vendor looking for a contract, it's ultimately the company's decision whether to deal with a union or to look elsewhere when hiring. There is nothing particularly noble about either unions or their stockholders (membership). Certainly there is no major difference between a union and any other for-profit endeavor. Both the company and the union are in business to maximize profit and minimize loss.

Which may then surprise you when I say public service employee unions ARE bad. And I believe it was a major mistake for President Kennedy to have allowed them collective-bargaining privileges. Public service unions are only regarded as "noble" because the union members tell us they are.

You see, a public service union is NOT based on free association. It is NOT based on the freedoms of speech and free assembly. Public service unions are a scam and a cheat.

Here's something worth protesting ~ By Erik Rush

These are the Orwellian machinations of government at which Americans used to snicker in years past when we heard Soviet premiers proclaim one glorious five-year plan after another. The crushing weight of the evidence screaming that a 180-degree maneuver off of our current course would be the sanest thing to do is irrelevant, as is the welfare of the American people. Progressive operatives, whether in Washington, Madison or elsewhere, will forge doggedly ahead with this doomed agenda, consigning Americans to increasing squalor, paucity and physical jeopardy.

Unless, of course, we stop them.

There is not much that I could add to Erik's column because it says it just like it is, and so perfectly. Erik does a great job explaining how the socialists cement their political power by getting the public-sector labor force on their side, keep adding more of them by increasing the size of the government, and so on. Yes, it is much like they do with giving the entitlements to "the poor."

But the whole key to this column are the last six words: "Unless, of course, we stop them." I suppose we would want to assume that Erik was meaning those words in a peaceful way, as in voting, tea parties, and doing our best to wake up our sleeping neighbors.

Here's something worth protesting
ERIK RUSH

By Erik Rush

Politicians and labor leaders, working in concert, establish entitlements for public-sector workers who are more than happy to receive them. These far and above exceed those benefits for which workers in the private sector contribute portions of their compensation, and are ultimately paid for by taxpayers.

This is how it works with socialists and is a key method by which they cement their political power. Essentially, it places taxpayers in a situation wherein they are enslaved to the government via the self-interest of public-sector workers. The more public-sector workers there are, the more secure the government's power.

Changes in economic conditions – because economic conditions always change – may preclude the continuance of these entitlements, or the latter simply outstrip the public-sector employer's ability to pay them. Then, politicians and labor leaders paint those who call for austerity or concessions (taxpayers and prudent politicians) as anti-worker.

If all of this sounds like an old communist trick, there's a good reason for that: It is.

Speaking of old communists, more than a few commentators took significant exception to radical activist and Sith lord Frances Fox Piven's December 2010 call for demonstrations and rioting in America in response to government counter-measures regarding widespread economic distress.

And voila! – like a well-timed Hollywood film cut from foreshadowing to conclusion, suddenly there are demonstrations under way in two (going on three) states in America. As in Greece and other European nations, public-sector workers in the U.S., in response to their state governments' proposed austerity measures, have taken to the streets, viciously excoriating any and all who advance or advocate these measures.

Some of the key players here have been Wisconsin teachers, who have essentially gone on strike to get their point across. As it happens, the National Education Association, America's teachers' union, has among its "recommended reading" materials the book "Rules for Radicals" by Saul Alinsky, the pioneering radical community organizer. This is by no means covert; the book is plainly and shamelessly displayed on the NEA's website.

It is no secret President Obama has come down on the side of the protesters in Wisconsin and is closer to labor unions than any president has ever been. But isn't it strange that the game plan public-sector employees in the Midwest are currently using is right in the vein of methodology outlined in the study materials of old-school radical Marxists?

We are, I suppose, expected to ignore these associations.

At-all-costs Marxists ~ By Henry Lamb

Before I even read this column, I was having some questions. At some time I hope to write about those questions, but not now, not here.

Ummm.... okay, I lied. There is one question I had that needs to be written about here as it does relate directly to this column by Henry Lamb. I was wondering if I should really be worrying about the radical left? The reason I asked that question is because I wondering to myself (until just now), "If the radicals on the left - bluntly, the Marxists - were to be in actual control of this country, would We the People be able to take back the United States of America?"

So, are my fears justified? They probably are. And I feel good because I do know that I am not alone, I know that many people comprehend the grave danger facing this country and that jeopardizes our liberty.

I am encouraged to know that there are people like Henry Lamb, and many others, that have the courage to keep informing us. It helps to know that I do not stand alone. I know that there is a storm coming, but I am not afraid to face it. No, make that, WE are not afraid to face it! Just sayin'....

Proud Socialists March at Left-Wing Protest in DC

Marxists influenced the direction of government excessively during the Wilson administration, the Roosevelt administration and since the Clinton administration. Obama and his cadre of Marxists czars, along with the Democratic majority in Congress, have turned up the heat on advancing his Marxist agenda. The Democrats and the Marxist organizations gathered at the Lincoln Memorial last week will do whatever is necessary to prevail in every election they can, and then enact every Marxist scheme they can during the lame-duck session of Congress.

Never have the Marxists been this close to completely "transforming the United States of America," as Obama so proudly predicted. Never has it been so important to turn out the Democrats in Congress and replace them with candidates who honor and respect the U.S. Constitution, free markets, private property and individual freedom.

Editor's note: Listen to this column online.

The recent gathering at the Lincoln Memorial was nothing less than an enormous, nationally televised coming-out party for closet Marxists. Washington watchers have long known about the love affair between the Marxists in America and other major political forces. Here are a few of the organizations that are marching, lock-step, in support of the Democratic majority that is advancing a Marxist agenda:
  • Communist Party USA (CPUSA)
  • Democratic Socialists of America
  • Committee of Correspondence for Democracy and Socialism
  • Sierra Club
  • National Wildlife Federation
  • Friends of the Earth
  • Center for Biological Diversity
  • NAACP
  • Rainbow PUSH Coalition
  • AFL-CIO
  • UAW, International Union
  • SEIU: Service Employees International Union
  • American Federation of Teachers
  • American Association of University Professors
  • AFGE: American Federation of Government Employees
  • (And more than 300 other organizations)

The Democrats and their coalition of Marxist organizations say the Reid-Pelosi Marxist majority must be returned to Congress because the Republicans will return to the "failed policies of the past" and run the "economy into the ditch" again.

Any honest analysis of why the economy ran into the ditch has to begin with the Community Reinvestment Act of 1977, promoted by the Carter administration and many of the organizations that "came out" last weekend. The purpose of the law was to make it easier for low-income families to get mortgages.

Marxists, of course, believe that adequate housing is a right, and that government has the responsibility to see that every person has adequate housing. The Clinton administration, goaded on by many of the organizations that "came out" last weekend, lowered the credit requirements to the point that NINJNAs (No Job, No Income, No Assets) were buying upscale houses all over the country with what were called "subprime" mortgages. To his credit, George W. Bush tried in vain to tighten the regulation of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, but Democrats Charles Schumer and Barney Frank led the charge to defeat tighter controls.

It was clearly the failed policies of the Democrats and their Marxist buddies who ran the economy into the ditch, not eight years of the Bush administration.

Speaker after speaker last week railed against corporations that out-sourced jobs to foreign countries. They fail to recognize that it is their failed policies that force corporations to find less expensive production costs.

Environmental organizations such as the Sierra Club, the Center for Biological Diversity and hundreds of others constantly force production costs upwards by lobbying for ever-stronger environmental regulations that virtually stop land use and require reams of scientific and technical reviews to meet Environmental Impact Statement requirements. These regulatory costs rarely improve the environment, and since they are not required in other countries, corporations are drawn away from America.

Labor unions drive wage and benefit costs up year after year, without concern for the financial impacts or whether there are sufficient sales to cover the costs. This is what killed the U.S. auto industry. This, along with excessive environmental and social regulatory costs, is what has killed the entire American manufacturing industry. These are the failed policies that are dragging the American economy into the ditch, not eight years of the Bush administration. This ever-increasing cost of production doesn't exist in other countries; these Marxist policies force industry to leave the U.S.

Marxists claim they believe in non-discrimination, equality for everyone. That is, everyone but the rich.

Marxists believe in discrimination against the rich. Marxists believe that the rich should be penalized and forced to pay a higher tax rate than everyone else.
