Author who questioned Islam getting unique publicity Posted: December 04, 2009 ~ 1:00 am Eastern © 2009 WorldNetDaily Brad Thor, the author of a series of best-selling thrillers, is getting unique publicity because of a news photo of a West Point cadet reading his anti-Obama novel "The Apostle" while awaiting the president's speech at the U.S. military academy. Obama was at West Point Tuesday night to announce he will dispatch another 30,000 troops to Afghanistan, fewer than military commanders on the ground had sought. As part of the staging for the appearance, cadets were ushered into the auditorium hours in advance of the speech. Many brought books to read while they waited. "The Apostle," according to Amazon.com, is about a "new and naïve U.S. president" who has just taken office with a landslide victory because of a strategist who "delivered the mainstream media for him on a silver platter." The thriller features a kidnapping, a former intelligence operator dispatched on a secret mission to free one of Osama bin Laden's lieutenants and an investigation of a pre-election fatality.
