To protect their assets, the chickens in the henhouse - providing meat and eggs - had to be guarded by the farmers and their families, to keep varmints and predators from decimating their food source... Now, just like millions of other Americans, we have placed our valuables in the care of institutions that are charged with guarding the "henhouse".
