Sacrifice for Freedom - by T. L. Farlow

In a column by T. L. Farlow, he writes:

These surely are tempestuous times with one after another disastrous natural storms reeking havoc each time they pass. Not only do we have a particular region destroyed by these raging storms, but the entire nation is further burdened financially by an equally disastrous government policy dictating that each citizen pay up their fair share to restore these storm victims and make them whole again. This includes even me, though a thousand plus miles removed, I too suffer at the hands of our socialist government system of punishing all when an unfortunate few incur a disaster. At some time, perhaps in the near future, there will arrive another storm, or series of storms, which will overwhelm the financial capabilities of our illegal banking system and the citizens' compulsory responsibility to pay up and make whole all those affected. As these creations batter not only our coastlines, but our wallets as well, we stand unprotected, naked and unable to stop the advances of both these whirlwinds and this socialist government which come and strip the landscape of its value and the citizenry of their possessions, destroying liberty, commerce and decency all at the same time.
