Time 2 Escape Daily for Wednesday, Dec 28, 2011

A decision was finally made after months of thoughtful consideration. Of the various options available to me, I believe that I will be making the changes needed to accomplish the main goal of providing a resource of value to you, the reader.

You will no longer see the individual columns that I was commenting on. Because my time has been more limited these days, it was getting overwhelming to get very many blogs posted. As you can see, my monthly productivity began to plummet in this month of December 2012. Hopefully, my new plan will be a way to again produce more posts that will help to keep you informed.

You will see three sections in each new post, and each will contain the links to stories and commentaries that I know you will be interested in.

Since today is the first time I've made this effort, it may mean that additional adjustments to this new endeavor will be made down the road. But the biggest adjustment will be to my attitude about "change." Admittedly, there are times when I tend to shun much variation to the way things are done.

Gone will be my ability to see the reaction to various columns that I have posted about. It was the realization, though, that made me think that wasn't information that affects what you will gain from the new format. The historical information I have at my fingertips, however, will help me to determine which stories and columns to include that will keep you coming back for more.

Change can be good. We'll find out soon if this is the change you really wanted to see. It might just be better than the "change" you've seen in the last three years under Obama.

The News Stories:

Old Testament prophecy fulfilled before our eyes?
Americans scrambling to Bible to see previously untold parallels with today

What do sycamore and cedar trees have to do with biblical prophecy, the tragic events of 9/11 and the imminent future of the United States?

Everything, according to a new book which says an obscure text from the Old Testament prophet Isaiah is an urgent wake-up call for all Americans in light of what happened on that fateful day in 2001.

"The Harbinger" by Jonathan Cahn, a messianic rabbi from the Jerusalem Center-Beth Israel Congregation in Wayne, N.J., deciphers stunning connections between what some may think is a cryptic biblical prophecy to the news events happening right now, in our current time.

      Sheriff Joe Arpaio
Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Arizona's Maricopa County has been under fire for his immigration law-enforcement policies from protesters who simply object to what he's doing, in a lawsuit alleging his department profiles on race, and from the federal government which has canceled agreements with his department to check for violators who arrive at his jail.

What does 2012 really hold for the world?
Now's your chance to catch up on the warnings

      It's finally here – 2012.

What is the spiritual significance of this year that so many ancient cultures dreaded?

Maybe now is the right moment to examine all the theories and some of the shocking facts.

With all the hype about the ancient Mayan calendar suggesting the demise of human civilization taking place in 2012, one American author wants everyone to know that other calendars predict the same outcome, and he claims a demonic plot bringing about the end date could be hiding in plain sight inside the U.S. Capitol and your wallet right now.

      'Anonymous' plans for 'violent revolution'
Hacking group that helped protests warns of 'bloody mess'

The hackers known as "Anonymous," who helped organize and support the Occupy movement's protests, have released an online survivor guide for citizens "in case of a violent revolution in your country."

The guide warns protests can be a "bloody mess." It trains rioters on how to avoid tear gas, rubber bullets and live ammunition.

The 15-page PDF document claims police will not help protesters and may actually be enemies of the revolution while warning that protest groups may be infiltrated by "fake civilians."

      Victoria Jackson
Former “Saturday Nigh Live” actress Victoria Jackson is facing some criticism over recent comments she made on “Politichicks,” a web talk show she co-hosts. During a recent episode, Jackson contended that the Muslim Brotherhood — the same Islamist group that has been winning Middle Eastern elections — has infiltrated the American government at its highest levels.

I don't know about you, but this was one of the blandest, and quite frankly ugliest, "holiday seasons" I've ever seen.
As 2011 draws to a close, I wonder: Is freedom winning? Did America become freer this year? Less free? How about the rest of the world?

      From the Blogs:

Want to let the president know what you think of his million dollar Hawaiian vacation? Now you can

As anyone who follows the Drudge Report, Hotair (or “Hot Gas” if you’re Gov. Rick Perry), or The Blaze knows, President Obama’s Hawaiian vacation will cost the American taxpayer quite a chunk of change.

Understandably, some Americans are bothered by the his decision to take such a costly vacation during these economically unstable times.

Perhaps because this irritation is so sharply felt, people are finding new and different ways to vent their frustration. One such outlet is a website called Wasted in Hawaii: President Obama’s Hawaiian Binge. The website includes information on the cost of president‘s trip as well as an interactive tool that allows users to send messages to the president’s @BarackObama Twitter handle.

Another presidential hopeful wants Obama eligibility proof

[Cain] earlier leveled another type of criticism against Obama.

He said Barack Obama's long list of incidents in which he disregards America's Christian heritage may be intentional.

"I have been able to get the pulse of the American people of not only what's in their head but what's in their heart," Cain told CBN News Correspondent David Brody in an interview. "What's in their heart is they love this country. They love the values upon which this country was founded, and they don't like it when the president omits 'endowed by their Creator' from reciting the Declaration of Independence."

Brody asked Cain, "Do you believe that was intentional by the president?"

"I believe it was intentional because he did it three times, two of which I know about, and a friend of mine actually knows of a third one," Cain answered. "With all of his teleprompters, how could you not put that in there? No. I believe it was intentional."
No, Herman Cain is not a "birther." Not even close! Nor is Donald Trump. However, they are in definite agreement that the President should "bring out some proof of his eligibility to occupy the Oval Office." The whole point, Cain contends, is this: "End of discussion, so that it doesn't remain a big distraction." Should Obama follow Herman Cain's and Donald Trump's good advice - if he can - the issue can be permanently put to rest.

Besides, the last thing Obama really needs in 2012 is for too many Americans to be wondering if he is a fraud. It would be a major error in political tactics for Obama to try to keep this "big distraction" going any longer. What Obama has been doing is a definite contradiction to his promise of "transparency."

And here's the thing: The actual story here isn't about the birth certificate issue! That was just the distraction to divert our attention off of what else is brought up in Bob Unruh's column on WND. Herman Cain said in an interview with David Brody of CBN News, "Barack Obama's long list of incidents in which he disregards America's Christian heritage may be intentional."

Could Obama's reason for keeping the eligibility controversy alive be that he doesn't want his disregard for America's Christian heritage - and we'll also add the Constitution - to be an issue next year?

While Herman Cain shares Donald Trump's concern about Obama's Constitutional eligibility issues, he was willing to take it a step further. To me, that is a definite sign of Herman's courage being above politics!

We know without a doubt that Herman Cain's views will invite the usual Democrat and leftist strategy to be activated soon. They'll go to their usual mode of vitriolic ridicule, fabrications, and yes, hypocrisy. And We the People - Conservative patriotic activists, mostly
with a Judeo-Christian heritage - are ready for it... this time.

      Bring it on!

We have learned from what Sarah Palin was put through in 2008. This time, the Democrats will be met with resistance in the form of actual proof, in their own recorded words, of who they are and what they want! The "Joe the Plumber" moment was just a taste of what we have on Obama and his minions.... this time.

Silent no more!  (unless Obama declares martial law.)  I'm just sayin'...

      SPECIAL UPDATE - April 4, 2011

I found this video yesterday when I was getting this column ready to post. At that time, the embedding feature on the video at youtube had been deactivated. When I checked today, I was able to get the embedding code so that I could share this with you.

This video, from a segment on Rush Limbaugh's program, I believe to have been on March 30, 2011. The reason I wanted to share it with you is so that you will have an antidote to the liberal's vitriolic attacks they will surely ramp up against the various Republican presidential contenders that happen to suggest that Obama should make his birth certificate available.

This video, which is actually the audio from the Rush Limbaugh radio program, includes the new Barack Obama new parody song, "Born in the USA."

Another presidential hopeful wants Obama eligibility proof
Says during interview: 'I'd produce birth certificate. End of discussion'

Businessman and possible 2012 GOP contender Herman Cain says he understands why people want President Obama to bring out some proof of his eligibility to occupy the Oval Office.

      Herman Cain
He said in an interview with Shark-Tank.net he respects people who believe Obama "should prove he was born in the United States of America."

He was responding to a question about billionaire Donald Trump's flamboyant challenges to Obama to just produce his birth certificate and close the issue.

He said Trump was "not off base, just like the people who have been challenging his place of birth the last couple of years."

      The interview:

Video provided by BirtherReportDotCom on Mar 31, 2011

Cain continued, "It's just not an issue that I have studied enough to have a view on one way or another. I've been on the radio for five years fulltime. That wasn't an issue, quite frankly, that I spent a lot of time studying. And I respect people who believe he should prove his citizenship."

He continued that there is a very simple way for such issues to be resolved.

"If I were president and someone were challenging me on that, I'd produce my birth certificate. End of discussion, so that it doesn't remain a big distraction," he said. "I know there are people who have dug up some facts on this side, some people who have dug up some facts on [the other] side."

"I, frankly, have not looked at all the facts."

Woman accused of contempt for dinner blessing

      From WorldNetDaily
Judge finds event was 'voluntary gathering outside of school' Posted: August 27, 2009 ~ 12:15 am Eastern By Alyssa Farah © 2009 WorldNetDaily A Florida school district worker whose husband read a prayer at a private banquet has been cleared of contempt accusations brought by the American Civil Liberties Union. The case arose after the Santa Rosa County School District in January agreed to eliminate all religious activity, including prayer, at school-sanctioned events. However, district worker Michelle Winkler was at a private banquet held at a Naval base to honor non-instructional school district employees and her husband read a brief blessing prior to the meal, according to reports of the case. The ACLU alleged that subjected her to contempt charges. Two other district employees also are facing charges for a similar but separate incident. [READ ENTIRE STORY]

Land That I Love ~ By Alan H. Lake

      LAND THAT I LOVE

By Alan H. Lake of Grandpa Lake’s Weblog July 21, 2009 In 2006, I left the land of my birth, the United States of America, and moved to Finland. My only reason for moving was to be wed to a woman that I loved, a Finn. I still love her dearly. But I miss my homeland. At the time I left America, I was living on my Social Security retirement because an ex-wife had cleaned me out financially. I was poor. I’m still poor. The dollar is worth less than the euro, so my buying power is reduced. But we do have socialized medicine here. We get a housing allowance from the government. My wife gets unemployment insurance. I believe that she gets more here than she would with the same work history in the States. Moreover, she’ll get it for a longer period of time. If we moved to the States, life would be much rougher financially. So, why should I complain about life here? I think that a part of the reason is that I do not feel that I have a right to the money that other people earn unless they voluntarily give it to me. According to God’s law, to take a man’s money by coercion to give it to another is still theft, even if the civil law makes it legal. When I look at a governmental policy, I don’t think solely in terms of how it will effect me. I look at how it will effect all of those governed. Getting back to my dissatisfaction with Finland, I should note that salaries here are approximately half of what an American worker doing the same job would get. But the taxes are much higher. People here don’t complain about what their government is doing. They may not even understand that their nanny state government is taking more from them than their money. They plod through their existence here doing the best that they can. One can understand why Finns are heavy drinkers. A local joke says that, if you see a man on the street smiling, you know that he is crazy, drunk, American or all of the above. Stated another way, a sane, sober, Finnish man does not smile, nor does he look you in the eye. On the streets, he looks past you or, more likely, at the ground. The welfare state has robbed him of his manhood. Men are, by nature, risk takers and innovators. Here, risk taking is discouraged. Life is so regulated that one’s ability to try something new is severely limited. In the Finnish language, “safety” and “security” are the same word. These two things are very important to women, so the Finnish women I’ve spoken with think that the state does very well with providing these things. Men aren’t really needed to provide what is most important to women. Men are not all that significant. Yet significance is one of the greater needs of men. Because the state is the Great Provider, the church in Finland is quite insignificant also. What’s worse is that people extend their attitude about the church to the Almighty. He is insignificant. About 81% of the Finnish people belong to the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland. Most go to be baptized, to be confirmed, to be married and to be buried. A minister here told me that confirmation is a social custom having little to do with one’s convictions. Marriage means little here. What Americans call “shacking up” is just as respectable here as marriage. Another minister told me that the state’s provision of the people’s needs has eliminated the necessity for people to love one another. So, they don’t. They keep to themselves and expect others to do likewise. I am aware that America has been edging toward socialism for most of my nearly seven decades. Obama has put this move into high gear so that people are finally able to see what socialism is going to mean for our country. Americans are beginning to stand up to fight this abomination. But they are fighting primarily on the economic front. The real problem is spiritual. We want to be provided for by an entity we can see. We’d rather be cared for by government than by God. Our minds and hearts must be changed. I want to add my voice and ideas to the call for change back to what our founding Creationists gave us. America has a vision that Finland and other countries don’t have. Americans must fight for that vision, or it will die in America, too. So, why is my heart in the Land That I Love, my country? Because I’m a Christian. Because I’m an American. And because I’m a man.

Rendering unto Caesar ~ By Patrick Buchanan

Pat discusses the secularizing of America, and gives examples of the abominations taking place at once-Catholic colleges and universities, now wandering in the "desert of godlessness," as the Pope says. This is surely anecdotal evidence to confirm Newsweek in the conclusion reached in its cover story of Holy Week, "The End of Christian America." read more | digg story

He Is Risen ~ by Dr. Chuck Baldwin

I bring you an excerpt from this column:
What many people do not understand is that when America abandons its dependence upon the God of the Bible, it will–at the same time–surrender the very foundation of our liberty and independence. As Thomas Jefferson said, "And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are the gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with His wrath?" Patrick Henry agreed with Jefferson. He said, "It is when a people forget God that tyrants forge their chains." [Continue reading]
What these two giants in American history said will hold true still today. The problem is, there are too many people (now running this country) that either forgot it, or don't believe it. digg story ~ Submitted by ameribornnews

Replacing God ~ By Nancy Morgan

By Nancy Morgan Less than 3 months into the Obama administration, we are no longer a Christian nation. While speaking in Ankara, Turkey this week, President Obama made an astonishing proclamation. He claimed, "We do not consider ourselves a Christian nation." Instead, he said, "We are a nation of citizens," essentially assigning fealty to "the state" over fealty to God. The world listened, and nodded. Back home in the U.S., Newsweek editor Jon Meacham welcomed The End of Christian America: "The decline and fall of the modern religious right's notion of a Christian America creates a calmer political environment and, for many believers, may help open the way for a more theologically serious religious life." I guess it's settled. God is now outdated, at least among our political and media elite. In their worldview, what they sneeringly call the religious right is now merely a fringe group. America itself has evolved to a higher plane. A more progressive plane, if you will. The overwhelming majority of Americans who profess faith in God are being told that the times have changed. Christianity, our ruling elite inform us, is only one of many religions, all of which are equal. In case we don't get it, President Obama, while abroad, expressed a deep appreciation for the Islamic faith while, here at home, he appointed a gay-rights activist to the federal government's faith-based initiative. Said activist described Pope Benedict XVI and certain Catholic bishops as "discredited leaders." Get it? The election of Barack Obama has ushered in a new era in the war for hearts and minds in America. Obama, representing the Left, believes that man, not God, is omnipotent, thus paving the way for man (Obama) to take control of every facet of life in America. Obama and the government know best. They are now in charge. [Continue reading] digg story ~ Submitted by Landthatilove
