Welcome to this edition of Time 2 Escape WIFLI Briefing!

What is WIFLI?
You may be wondering what the acronym "WIFLI" means. I started out by calling these issues the Time 2 Escape Daily, but that didn't work out very well. I quickly learned that putting these issues together on a daily basis was a task I was unable to accomplish. To replace "Daily" in the title, I coined the acronym WIFLI, which literally means "When I Feel Like It." Putting together a post on this blog WIFLI works much better for my schedule, and for the higher quality of each issue that is eventually published!
Are you ready for a truly mind-blowing experience in the WIFLI Briefing for today? Ready or not, you're going to get it. I hope you do, anyway!
When you are free, you can do anything you desire. Yet to remain free requires intelligent and thoughtful use of that freedom. Those who take their freedom for granted, who waste it on empty frivolity, who abuse it, will eventually lose it. Those who honor, respect and are sincerely grateful for freedom, who use it responsibly, will achieve even more freedom as a result.

Are you asking why the gas prices are going up, up, and away in recent weeks? The highest prices we've ever seen at this this time of year? There are some stories that you'll see below that will help to explain the rising prices at the pump. You may find that there are global forces that would rather not have you enjoy the freedom you have experienced most of your life.

Have you ever wondered what the difference is between the Occupy Wall Street movement and the Tea Party Movement? Ummm, are there any adults in the room? Nobody should remain clueless once they see the Henry Lamb commentary below. In fact, of the two movements, there should be no doubt who wishes to remain free. Here's a clue: The one-percenters are not the people desiring the "fundamental transformation" of our government.

As you will learn from this edition of the WIFLI Briefing, there are two distinct sides who are at war with each other, and one side are the people that desire to remain free, while the other side doesn't want you to be free.  Any question about which side is evil?  Let's get a perspective on which side is which by watching the following video:

Santorum Criticizes Obama Agenda as Based on ‘Some Phony Theology…Not a Theology Based on the Bible’

(AP) — Lashing out on two fronts, Rick Santorum on Saturday questioned President Barack Obama‘s Christian values and attacked GOP rival Mitt Romney’s Olympics leadership as he courted tea party activists and evangelical voters in Ohio, “ground zero” in the 2012 nomination fight.

Santorum, a former Pennsylvania senator known for his social conservative views, said Obama’s agenda is based on “some phony theology. Not a theology based on the Bible. A different theology.” He later suggested that the president practices a different kind of Christianity.

'Ineligible' Rubio top GOP choice for VP
Will Republicans put possibly unqualified candidate on ballot?

JUPITER ISLAND, Fla. – Despite his avowed non-interest and the fact he may not even be constitutionally eligible to hold the office, Florida U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio is the top choice of Republicans and independents for the vice-presidential slot on the Republican ticket this year, according to a brand-new poll.

The national survey of 800 registered voters by Fairleigh Dickinson University’s PublicMind shows Rubio receiving 66 mentions, more than 8 percent of the time, followed by former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.

“Anytime you place ahead of Sarah Palin, call yourself a winner,” said poll director Peter Woolley, “Her name recognition and presence are formidable.”

The question given to respondents was open-ended, asking: “No matter who is the Republican nominee for president, if you could pick the vice presidential nominee, who would it be?”

After Palin, the top respondents were Newt Gingrich, Ron Paul, Mitt Romney, Michele Bachmann and surprisingly, Democrat Hillary Clinton.

While Rubio himself has expressed numerous times that he is not interested in running for vice president, the public’s interest in him has not waned.

But his presence on the ticket could cause a backlash among some voters who believe he is not a natural-born citizen of the United States, and thus ineligible for president or vice president.

Ex-CIA chief warns: Get ready for terrorists who make al-Qaida 'look like amateurs'

Former Director of the Central Intelligence Agency R. James Woolsey told a radio host today that Americans “have to get ready” for Iran to retaliate against international pressure over its nuclear program with terrorist attacks, including, possibly, a strike on the Statue of Liberty.

Woolsey, who currently serves as chairman of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, was speaking on Aaron Klein Investigative Radio on New York’s WABC Radio.

Klein pointed out that Iran supports the militant Islamist group Hezbollah, which has been designated by the U.S. and several other nations as a terrorist organization, and asked Woolsey if he foresees the group plotting attacks on Jewish targets in the near future.

“Yes,” Woolsey responded. “They [Iran] have Hezbollah, and it is the most professional terrorist organization in the world. It makes al-Qaida look like a real group of amateurs. And they have expanded around the world.”

US, Britain urge Israel not to attack Iran's nuclear program

JERUSALEM – The U.S. and Britain on Sunday urged Israel not to attack Iran's nuclear program as the White House's national security adviser arrived in the region, reflecting growing international jitters that the Israelis are poised to strike.

In their warnings, both the chairman of the U.S. joint chiefs of staff, Gen. Martin Dempsey, and British Foreign Secretary William Hague said an Israeli attack on Iran would have grave consequences for the entire region and urged Israel to give international sanctions against Tehran more time to work. Dempsey said an Israeli attack is "not prudent," and Hague said it would not be "a wise thing." It was not known whether their messages were coordinated.

Both Israel and the West believe Iran is trying to develop a nuclear bomb -- a charge Tehran denies. But differences have emerged in how to respond to the perceived threat.

The U.S. and the European Union have both imposed harsh new sanctions targeting Iran's oil sector, the lifeline of the Iranian economy. With the sanctions just beginning to bite, they have expressed optimism that Iran can be persuaded to curb its nuclear ambitions.

On Sunday, Iran's Oil Ministry said it has halted oil shipments to Britain and France in an apparent pre-emptive blow against the European Union. The semiofficial Mehr news agency said the National Iranian Oil Company has sent letters to some European refineries with an ultimatum to either sign long-term contracts of two to five years or be cut off. The 27-nation EU accounts for about 18 percent of Iran's oil exports.

Iran stops oil sales to British and French firms

(Reuters) - Iran has stopped selling crude to British and French companies, the oil ministry said on Sunday, in a retaliatory measure against fresh EU sanctions on the Islamic state's lifeblood, oil.

"Exporting crude to British and French companies has been stopped ... we will sell our oil to new customers," spokesman Alireza Nikzad was quoted as saying by the Ministry of Petroleum website.

The European Union in January decided to stop importing crude from Iran from July 1 over its disputed nuclear program, which the West says is aimed at building bombs. Iran denies this.

Iran's oil minister said on February 4 that the Islamic state would cut its oil exports to "some" European countries.

The European Commission said last week that the bloc would not be short of oil if Iran stopped crude exports, as they have enough in stock to meet their needs for around 120 days.

Saudi Arabia Cuts Oil Output, Export: Industry Report
Production declines by 237,000 barrels per day

(CNBC) — The world’s top oil exporter, Saudi Arabia, appears to have cut both its oil production and export in December, according to the latest update by the Joint Organizations Data Initiative (JODI), an official source of oil production, consumption and export data.

The OPEC heavyweight saw production decline by 237,000 barrels per day (bpd) from three-decade highs of 10.047 million bpd in November, the JODI data showed on Sunday.

The draw-down was sharper for the actual amount exported, declining by 440,000 bpd, or 5.6 percent, to come in at 7.364 million bpd, the data also showed. The level would still be similar to exports after a steep ramp-up last June.

Why we are all Catholics now

I am a proud member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, but today, I call myself a Catholic. Why? Because the state is telling the Catholic Church to violate its principles and teachings. So if you are a person of faith, you must call yourself a Catholic.

Today, the Catholic Church is defending a historic American freedom. We tend to forget that many of America’s earliest European settlers were religious refugees. Europe was not a kind place to the faithful if the state didn’t approve: Jews in Spain, Puritans in England, Protestants in France and so on. You were cast out, or worse.

Our Founding Fathers remembered this. They knew if you can’t serve God as you choose, you are not free. And so they enshrined that right in the First Amendment of the Constitution: The state “shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof…

This is why Americans are offended by the ruling from the White House that would force church-run institutions to pay for birth control and morning-after pills, which are tantamount to abortion. The so-called compromise is no compromise – under government-approved health insurance plans that the church pays for, abortifacients would be covered. Sin by proxy – that’s the compromise.

This isn’t a fight over abortion or birth control. This is about whether the state can force someone to pay to have their religious beliefs violated.

I just love it when news reports tell us that gas prices are up again and that they’ll soon top $4 a gallon.

Thanks, Barack.

That’s a laugh because in Northern California, depending on where you are, pump prices already are over that $4 level. It was a headline story in my local paper Saturday.

In San Francisco, where the number of gas stations is limited, drivers have been bilked that amount per gallon for weeks.

In the surrounding counties, it’s like a daily lottery.

I have several stations I check regularly, and I try to pick the cheapest when I get the regular, weekly fill-up. To make it a bit easier on the wallet, I pay cash – that’s the cheapest way to go and these days – any days – every penny counts. And, just to be ornery, I keep a record of the weekly prices!

Occupiers or tea partiers?

Imagine how the media would react were the Tea Parties to behave as the Occupiers have. Take a few minutes to view some of this video (2:09), or this video (2:08). Occupiers demand to "occupy" whatever they wish as a First Amendment right, but they will not allow Tea Party people (:52- explicit) to exercise their First Amendment rights.

Take a look at this video (2:08). The difference between the two groups is quite dramatic. Now see what happens when Occupiers are challenged by Tea Party people (4:02). Occupiers seem to believe that someone, perhaps the rich or the government, owes them something.

The Occupier in this video (1:42) says that all Senators, present and past, are a part of the one-percent who own 40-percent of the nation's wealth. He asks how this happened, and says that non-violence is not the answer. He says that ultimately, the rich will not go without a violent revolution.

Occupiers seem to believe that someone owes them a job and a livable income, and a home, at least, and perhaps more. These ideas are consistent with Marx and Engels' 19th century thinking, but have consistently failed every society that has tried to live by them. Nevertheless, a consistent theme at all Occupy sites is "down with capitalism," and "up with socialism."

Tea Partiers, on the other hand, expect nothing from their fellow citizens; and from government, they expect to be protected from all enemies, foreign and domestic, and allegiance to the U.S. Constitution. As the Declaration of Independence declares that all people are:

"...endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are: life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness."

One of the main takeaways that Glenn had from his weekend in Europe was the overwhelming feeling that the world was currently in the middle of World War 3. It is a war that isn’t yet being fought with guns, but with financial weapons. It is a war for power, money and influence. Glenn explains what is going on in the clip above from GBTV, and the role that Middle East and oil will play in the conflict ahead. While Glenn certainly came back with some positives, such as the growth of a global movement of peace and freedom, it is the battle being fought on an international level that frightened him the most.
