Time 2 Escape WIFLI Briefing for Wednesday, Feb 15, 2012

Welcome to this edition of Time 2 Escape WIFLI!

What is WIFLI?
You may be wondering what the acronym "WIFLI" means. I started out by calling these issues the Time 2 Escape Daily, but that didn't work out very well. I quickly learned that putting these issues together on a daily basis was a task I was unable to accomplish. To replace "Daily" in the title, I coined the acronym WIFLI, which literally means "When I Feel Like It." Putting together a post on this blog WIFLI works much better for my schedule, and for the higher quality of each issue that is eventually published!
If this keeps up, I may require intervention. In my quest for all the news I can find outside of what mainstream media allows us to see and hear, I keep finding more and more troubling stories. When I start checking out the news sites I frequent WIFLI (see above), I usually have no problem stumbling on yet more stress inducing scoops. But wait, maybe there is a reason for that.

There is a reason why many people I know are pretty much oblivious to things going on in the world and this country. I think they have decided that they can live a less stressful life by not noticing or caring what is going on outside of their own lives. Who can blame them?

Well, unfortunately, for those of us that want America to remain free, I guess those that stay ignorant of all that is going on, especially right now, aren't really going to be informed enough to vote for the candidates next Fall that may give us a chance to maintain our freedom. Our only hope is that at least a few people out there that ignored the news in the past will wake up in time. Hopefully, many of those people will stumble across blog posts like this and decide that it's time to become informed.

In order to reduce the stress that may arise from reading the following stories and columns, I've added a couple things at the end of this post in OUTSIDE of the BOX that should help. Ironically, the Ralph Marston excerpt is called, "Drop the negativity." And in that famous song by Peter Gabriel and Kate Bush, Kate sings, "You worry too much...". But the theme in that song is, "Don't give up."

It does seem like we are being overwhelmed by the globalist conspiracy to take away our freedom, and how are we going to fight that? There's really only one way, and it may take generations before victory can be obtained. Stay informed and keep others informed, and refuse to ever give up. I'm just sayin'...

Covert ops have Israel placing ships in position
Thought to be posted to guide pre-emptive attack on nuclear infrastructure
From WND ~ via Joseph Farah’s G2 Bulletin ~ Published Feb 14, 2012

WASHINGTON – Israel has dispatched a number of naval vessels – under cover – into the Arabian Sea, and they are moving into its northern regions, just off of Iran, a U.S. intelligence source has reported in Joseph Farah’s G2 Bulletin.

The Israeli vessels have been positioned at the mouth of the Gulf of Oman, which leads to the Strait of Hormuz. Iran has threatened to shut down that gateway to the Persian Gulf if further sanctions are imposed against its sale of oil and on its central bank.

Israel also has threatened a strike against Iran’s nuclear facilities out of concern that it is using them to develop nuclear weapons. Indeed, Iran just announced that it has achieved significant breakthroughs on a number of fronts in its nuclear enrichment program.

Such nuclear enrichment not only is needed to fuel Iran’s nuclear reactors but can be used for medical research and, if enriched to levels above 90 percent, can be used for nuclear weapons.

Israel assesses that Iran has enough low-grade-enriched uranium to make four nuclear weapons if the Islamic republic achieves technical breakthroughs in uranium enrichment beyond the 90-percent level.

New World Trade Center Site To Become Military Grade Police State Hub
From Prisonplanet.com ~ By Steve Watson ~ February 14, 2012

Terrorists supposedly attacked the World Trade Center towers on 9/11 because they hated the freedoms of Americans. Now their ilk will be satisfied to learn that anyone in the vicinity of the new World Trade Center will have absolutely no freedoms whatsoever.

According to plans seen by The New York Post, The Port Authority is to deploy military grade security, unrivalled by anything currently used in any city in the world.

The agency is set to roll out chilling technology akin to that described in The Minority Report that will subject Americans to pre-crime interrogations and physiological scans to detect malintent.

The PA plans to install and operate science-fiction-like devices such as infrared and heat sensors that can be outfitted with explosive and radiation detectors.

In what it claims are efforts to protect the new somewhat ironically named “Freedom Tower”, the PA plans also call for sophisticated surveillance cameras that have built in facial and retina scanners. The cameras will be able to scan everyone in the vicinity and run their biometric features against government criminal databases and terrorist watch lists.

From THEBLAZE ~ by Jonathon M. Seidl ~ Posted Feb 14, 2012 at 10:17 a.m.

Two weeks ago, we told you some United Nations leaders were considering a proposal for a world tax to fund “social protection.” And now there’s video of a White House adviser saying “we need a global minimum tax.”

The video, from Monday, features Gene Sperling, the director of the White House Economic Council, speaking at a meeting about the budget being televised by CSPAN. From the video, he seems to be talking about what the president supports.

In an election about the economy, the culture wars make a comeback
From FoxNews.com ~ By Doug McKelway ~ Published February 14, 2012

The immortal campaign words from the 1990s, "It's the economy, Stupid," were thought to apply to the campaign season of 2012, too. But recent circumstances have re-ignited the culture wars and help to explain the sudden and unlikely rise of Rick Santorum, a Republican social conservative who was all but written off.

Santorum, a former Pennsylvania senator, has ridden into a statistical tie with Mitt Romney, according to three recent national polls. His ascendancy largely is the result of four key controversies that have risen with uncanny timing to ignite a fire among evangelicals, Catholics and social conservatives.

They include the decision by the Obama administration, now amended, to require institutions run by the Roman Catholic Church to provide contraception coverage to female workers; the ruling by a three-judge panel of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals that overturns California's law banning gay marriage; the Pentagon's decision to open about 14,000 combat-related positions to women, and the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation's decision to withdraw, then restore, grant money to Planned Parenthood.

"This is (Santorum's) bread and butter," says Nathan Gonzales of the Rothenberg Political Report. "Rick Santorum couldn't have manufactured this scenario, where he is in a dead heat with Mitt Romney."

Obama wants steep nuclear arms cuts
From GOPUSA.com ~ By GOPUSA Staff ~ February 15, 2012 6:50 a.m.

WASHINGTON (AP) - The Obama administration is weighing options for sharp new cuts to the U.S. nuclear force, including a reduction of up to 80 percent in the number of deployed weapons, The Associated Press has learned.

Even the most modest option now under consideration would be an historic and politically bold disarmament step in a presidential election year, although the plan is in line with President Barack Obama's 2009 pledge to pursue the elimination of nuclear weapons.

No final decision has been made, but the administration is considering at least three options for lower total numbers of deployed strategic nuclear weapons cutting to: 1,000 to 1,100; 700 to 800, and 300 to 400, according to a former government official and a congressional staffer. Both spoke on condition of anonymity in order to reveal internal administration deliberations.

The potential cuts would be from a current treaty limit of 1,550 deployed strategic warheads.

A level of 300 deployed strategic nuclear weapons would take the U.S. back to levels not seen since 1950 when the nation was ramping up production in an arms race with the Soviet Union. The U.S. numbers peaked at above 12,000 in the late 1980s and first dropped below 5,000 in 2003.

The Progressive era's legacy
Thomas Sowell explains connection between Presidents T.R., Wilson, Obama
From WND Commentary ~ By Thomas Sowell ~ Published Feb 13, 2012

THOMAS SOWELL
Although Barack Obama is the first black president of the United States, he is by no means unique, except for his complexion. He follows in the footsteps of other presidents with a similar vision, the vision at the heart of the Progressive movement that flourished a hundred years ago.

Many of the trends, problems and disasters of our time are a legacy of that era. We can only imagine how many future generations will be paying the price – and not just in money – for the bright ideas and clever rhetoric of our current administration.

The two giants of the Progressive era – Theodore Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson – clashed a century ago, in the three-way election of 1912. With the Republican vote split between William Howard Taft and Theodore Roosevelt’s newly created Progressive Party, Woodrow Wilson was elected president, so that the Democrats’ version of Progressivism became dominant for eight years.

What Theodore Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson had in common, and what attracts some of today’s Republicans and Democrats, respectively, who claim to be following in their footsteps, was a vision of an expanded role of the federal government in the economy and a reduced role for the Constitution of the United States.

Patton: Just a Taste of a Second Obama Term
From GOPUSA Commentary ~ By Doug Patton ~ February 14, 2012 1:57 p.m.

First, he came for the General Motors bondholders, but the religious leaders were not GM bondholders, so they did not speak up. Then he came for the oil companies, but they were not oil company executives, and again they did not speak up. Next, he came for control of the nation’s health care system, and again they saw no threat — in fact, many of them supported his plan.

We were told we had to pass the plan to find out what was in it. Then he came for our freedom of religion, and we found out what was in it: pure, unadulterated tyranny.

In a stunning exercise of raw, unconstitutional power, Barack Obama now tells people of faith that their rights do not come from God, as guaranteed by the Declaration of Independence and the First Amendment to the Constitution, but rather from him. The right to practice one’s religion is now codified in the so-called Affordable Care Act of 2010, otherwise known as Obamacare.

Last week, Obama announced that religious organizations would be required to include birth control and abortifacient devices and medications in the health care plans they provide for their employees. When it became clear that America’s Christian leaders would not stand for this, Obama is said to have “backed down.” In reality, he did no such thing.

A Tea Party Senate Takeover
Remember: Entrenched incumbency is the disease. Fresh blood is the cure.
From GOPUSA Commentary ~ By Michelle Malkin ~ February 15, 2012 6:50 a.m.

MICHELLE MALKIN
The tea party isn't dead. It's just looking down ballot. While fiscal conservatives remain split over the GOP presidential candidates, grassroots activists are coalescing around a stellar slate of limited-government candidates looking to reinforce and reenergize the right in Washington.

And in the spirit of the modern-day tea party movement, no entrenched incumbent -- Democrat or Republican -- is safe.

Utah was Ground Zero for the movement's first major electoral upset. In April 2009, this column first reported on a Salt Lake City tea party protest of 2,000 Utahans who repeatedly booed GOP Sens. Bob Bennett and Orrin Hatch for supporting the $700 billion TARP bank bailout. In May 2010, the three-term, 76-year-old Bennett got the boot at the GOP state convention. Young conservative lawyer Mike Lee, who clerked for Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito, went on to win the seat.

The Global Warming Hoax is Now Killing People
From Tea Party Nation ~ By Alan Caruba ~ February 13, 2012 at 4:48pm

ALAN CARUBA
By Friday, February 10th, an estimated 500 Europeans had died from the freezing weather gripping the continent. This is the price they and British citizens are paying for embracing the global warming hoax, spending billions for wind power when they should have been building coal-fired and other sources of energy to heat their homes and businesses.

As the British daily, The Telegraph, reported on Friday, “Serbia has started implementing power cuts in a desperate bid to stave off the collapse of its national grid as the country suffers the effects of days of freezing temperatures.”

I and others have been warning for years that the Earth has been cooling since 1998 and that the planet is on the cusp of a new ice age because the average length of an interglacial period of warmth between such ages is now coming to an end after the passage of some 11,500 years.

All aspects of global warming legislation and spending programs must be utterly reversed if we are not going to see huge losses of life and the disruption of entire economies.

The Ottawa Citizen published an Agence France Presse article on Friday reporting that “Thick ice closed vast swaths of the Danube on Thursday, crippling shipping on Europe’s busiest waterway, as the death toll from bitter cold across the continent rose…as it has every day for nearly two weeks.” The report noted that “Navigation was impossible or restricted in Serbia, Croatia, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary and Austria, as ice covered the river or formed dangerous floes in shipping lanes.”

No shipping means no delivery of coal and oil and no shipping of food and other necessities. Europe is freezing over as the United States has been experiencing an unusually mild winter thus far. That, too, is likely to yield to the increased cooling of the planet and then, maybe, Americans will realize the threat to their lives that the closing of coal-fired plants, instigated by the Environmental Protection Agency, really means.

Drop the negativity
From The Daily Motivator ~ By Ralph Marston ~ Wednesday, February 15, 2012

RALPH MARSTON
Negativity is a waste of your precious time. You deserve much better, so give the very best of life to yourself.

When you catch the slightest bit of negativity creeping into your thoughts, visualize yourself taking hold of it and then simply letting it drop to the ground. Feel the spark of energy that comes from your newly gained freedom, and step positively forward.

Worries are worthless, so don’t bother with them. Resentment over a difficult situation actually makes that situation worse, so remind yourself there’s no point in it.
