It's right and wrong, stupid! ~ By Joseph Farah

Joseph Farah warns conservatives and tea partiers that our country's problems are not just economic, and those problems are not going to be solved without involving moral values. The phrase, "It's the economy, stupid," is not going to help us keep our freedom without also keeping God's Law and knowing right and wrong.

The following is a quote from Russell Kirk, who "is considered one of the great intellects of the modern American conservative movement:"
"Men and nations are governed by moral laws; and those laws have their origin in a wisdom that is more than human – in divine justice. At heart, political problems are moral and religious problems. The wise statesman tries to apprehend the moral law and govern his conduct accordingly. We have a moral debt to our ancestors, who bestowed upon us our civilization, and a moral obligation to the generations who will come after us. This debt is ordained of God. We have no right, therefore, to tamper impudently with human nature or with the delicate fabric of our civil social order."

~ Russell Kirk, in his book, "The Essence of Conservatism"

I think it was the always insightful James Carville who made famous the phrase, "It's the economy, stupid," during the 1992 presidential election.

It shouldn't surprise that a liberal Democrat, with no discernible spiritual or moral bearings whatsoever, would make such a well-remembered plea to sheer materialism and political pragmatism.

What is shocking is the way so many Republicans and "conservatives" – and even some tea-party activists – are today embracing that Carville-ism in their approach to a political agenda to set America back on a course to liberty and self-governance.

After all, Democrats, "liberals," "progressives" and socialists of all stripes believe, for the most part, that the universe is solely comprised of matter. Everything is just stuff. This was the basis for the Communist Manifesto. Karl Marx believed economics was everything. There was no Creator above. There was no design in the universe – just matter and billions of years of random events that led to what we see all around us.

Surely that's not what Republicans and "conservatives" believe – or, at least, it shouldn't be.

Yet, some of the most prominent Republican and "conservative" leaders and organizations in America today are buying into that moronic lie: "It's the economy, stupid!"

Farah: Tea party's success only measured by reclaiming nation's cultural institutions

NASHVILLE - WND founder Joseph Farah shared his long-term strategy for reclaiming the nation with tea partiers last night – explaining election wins are only half the battle and a true, lasting revolution would mean taking over cultural institutions such as the press, entertainment business, schools, universities and churches.

"We're in trouble in America," he told a packed room at the first national tea party convention in Nashville. "We're losing our moral bearings. We're losing our respect for the rule of law. You look around America today, and things are bad – and they're getting worse. We're broke. We're dispirited. We're scared."

Farah said Americans have lived through years of reckless government spending under the administrations of Presidents George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton and George W. Bush – each promoting big government, less freedom and declining morality.

Why the sudden wake-up call in 2009 and 2010?

He compared stirring of Americans to the proverbial frog in a pot of water that is slowly getting hotter. It enjoys the balmy temperature and doesn't realize it's being slowly boiled to death.

"It is my theory that Americans have been that frog in the pot for at least the last 20 years," Farah said. "We've been moving closer and closer to socialism, further away from God, the Constitution and doing what's right – all the while not noticing that it's killing our nation."

He said slowly but surely Americans have been turning their backs on the sacrifices their forefathers made in the name of liberty.

"It's our duty that those of us who believe in God, liberty, security and responsibility that He represents – and only He represents – to ... begin another long march through the cultural institutions," Farah said. "It's not enough to criticize these institutions. They need to be taken over, redeemed, reborn."

"Once upon a time, the U.S. government was the envy of the whole world," he said. "It presided over the greatest freedom the world had ever known. But as Washington's power and reach grew well beyond its constitutional restrictions, something happened. It started to supplant God."

Government became man's source of worship – its idol, Farah said.

"Government wants to be your one and only god."

The crowd cheered energetically.

Obama's 'most important message'? ~ By Chuck Norris

Commentary from WorldNetDaily
Chuck Norris By Chuck Norris Posted: December 28, 2009 ~ 1:00 am Eastern © 2009 In my last column, "Away with the manger," I predicted that the religious content of President Obama's Christmas address to the nation was going to be the weakest in presidential history. I also mentioned that, in the first year of his presidency, "Every time President Obama has had an opportunity to stand for Christianity in any way, he has not only denied it but disdained it." Any chance he has to dive deeper into its creed, he rises to the surface and changes the subject. I was correct on both accounts, and he proved it (again) last week. But never did I expect to hear Obama during Christmas week dodge children on the main message of Christmas and then teach them a revised version. First, unlike preceding presidents who took pride in America's Judeo-Christian heritage and confessed the nature of Christ as Savior, our president (with the first lady at his side) brought the briefest and most impotent religious admonition in the history of presidential Christmas addresses on Dec. 24, describing the incomparable Bethlehem miracle as merely containing a benign "message of peace and brotherhood that continues to inspire more than 2,000 years after Jesus' birth." The presidential yuletide moment of the week and season, however, dipped far further under the radar just a few days before on Dec. 22. It was Obama's visit Monday to the Boys and Girls Club in Washington, D.C., during which he had a free exchange (non-teleprompter) discussion with the children about Christmas. All seemed to be going fine until after the president read "The Polar Express" and led a discussion on what the kids wanted from Santa, when a few children brought up the real reason for the season. 2 ways to spur a Republican renaissance ~ By Star Parker

From WorldNetDaily
Star Parker By Star Parker Posted: November 07, 2009 ~ 1:00 am Eastern © 2009 RNC Chairman Michael Steele and the New York Yankees can look back on a good week. Maybe Steele deserves extra credit. No one was writing obituaries a year ago for the Yankees as was the case for the Republican Party. Now we have a different picture. Borrowing from the words of Mark Twain, reports of the death of the Republican Party were greatly exaggerated. The operative question today for Mr. Steele and his party, in the wake of winning governorships in Virginia and New Jersey, both Obama states in 2008, is "Now what?" Will voter discontent that led to these Republican victories be parlayed into a genuine Republican renaissance? As independent voters move away from Democrats and lean back toward Republicans, which is what happened in Virginia and New Jersey, and what polling over the year has shown to be happening nationwide, will Republicans build a solid new tent? Will they rebuild their party with values critical for restoring a sick nation to health? In order to genuinely rebuild, Republicans must successfully take on two big challenges – one internal and one external. First, a notion that has divided the party – that free-market economics and the social "values" agenda are separate cards to be played – must be purged. The more libertarian stream – Republicans whose principal concerns are limited government, low taxes and free markets – have viewed Christian social conservatism as dead weight in the party. This is a mistake. Christian conservatives, on the other hand, with legitimate concerns about the moral framework of the nation, concerns about the integrity of the American family and about the ongoing abortion holocaust, have given shorter shrift to the importance of constitutionally limited government and free markets. These two streams within the Republican Party that have been flowing in parallel must be channeled into one powerful river. It is not either-or. Both are essential. [CLICK HERE TO READ MORE]

Taking America Back, for real - By Joseph Farah

This is the second of a two-part series on the failure of conservatism as an ideology for moving America forward with a positive agenda for expanding freedom and reviving morality and restoring justice. It was originally published Nov. 14, 2006, right after the midterm congressional elections. read more | digg story
