Ben Carson: 2016 election may not happen ~ By Bob Unruh

He said, “There’s no telling what could happen in just a couple of years, and particularly where we’re in a situation that we have a Senate and a Senate leader who has over 300 bills sitting on his desk. He will not bring them to the floor for a vote.”

He described that as thwarting the will of the people and instead of having government conform to the people, having the people conform to the “will of the government.”

The following video is from Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace, and includes the portion that Bob Unruh is discussing in this story. There are a few other cuts in the segment that I also include which lead me to the opinion that Dr. Carson would make a great President of the United States. Well, that is, if there IS an election in 2016! Just sayin'...

Ben Carson: 2016 election may not happen
Likely GOP candidate warns 'there is the potential' because of growing 'anarchy'
By Bob Unruh

All that talk about the 2016 presidential race, Hillary Clinton’s innuendos, Rand Paul’s ideas, Chris Christie’s suggestions – may be all for naught.

“I hope that that is not going to be the case. But certainly there is the potential,” said Dr. Ben Carson, who was director of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital and became famous for his groundbreaking work in separating conjoined twins. He is now firmly established as a superstar among conservatives across America.

Dr. Ben Carson
There may not even be a 2016 president election, according to one man who is a likely contender.

He was responding to a question from Fox News interviewer Chris Wallace, who quoted Carson’s own statement that “there might not actually be elections in 2016…”

“Do you really believe that?” Wallace asked.

The war on Glenn Beck ~ By Robert Ringer

The bottom line for me is that Glenn Beck is still the most remarkable person on television, and I'm hoping he stays with Fox. But if the powers that be ever did insist that he put a more positive spin on his show (i.e., that he lie to his viewers), I believe his sense of honor would compel him to leave Fox. Beck is on a mission, and I think purity in thought, speech and action are nonnegotiable with him.

Video provided by TheREALjohnny2k

As I said in an earlier article, I believe Beck when he says he will never give up. I believe him when he says if he is forced off television, he will find another platform that is even bigger. I believe him when he says he is willing to die if that's what it takes to speak the truth.
I'll start out by saying that I saw a comment for the video that you will see below that explains at least part of the attack on Glenn Beck. This comment was written by sandio713 and who seems to be a Beck fan:
I think that left wing bimbo is just jealous. She only wishes she could get the viewership and following that Glenn has. Apparently, he's resonating with a lot of ppl; otherwise, the left-wing drive by media wouldn't continue to attack him. Lets face it, no one goes after a NOBODY!! They have to be able to affect ppl and have a following...and that's why the bimbo in the vid continues to attack him. She's the nobody! Is she some kind of faction, like Beck? I sincerely doubt it.
Certainly, the attack on Glenn Beck isn't just about jealousy as the comment alluded to, though sandio713 was definitely correct when it came to the lady in the video. A lot to do with the attack on Beck is something more entirely, as Robert explains in this column: "Most Americans are not yet ready to accept the truths Beck teaches, so they find it easier to dismiss him as a doomsayer or conspiracy nut." Being that Glenn is being attacked by the left and a few establishment elites on the right, it is possible that it has a lot to do with the establishment that does not want the American people to know the truth.

But how does a person explain a long, boring rant from Brannon Howse, attacking Glenn Beck's spiritual beliefs? First of all, I had never heard of Brannon Howse, so I know nothing about his credibility. Will Brannon get famous for attacking Glenn Beck? Was that his purpose? Second of all, it goes to illustrate that some people will stoop very low when they arrogantly believe that they are the one who is correct in a debate, only so that they can marginalize their opponent. I didn't think that a Christian would do that, but I guess it happens.

Robert Ringer has it right when he mentions that Beck would not stay with Fox if he was told to change his content. Robert says, "I believe his sense of honor would compel him to leave Fox." I concur. And I also personally hope that never happens!

When Chris Wallace interviewed Glenn Beck on "Fox News Sunday" the day after his stunningly successful Restoring Honor event at the Lincoln Memorial, he told Beck that in all his years as a journalist in Washington, he had never seen anything quite like him.

I could relate to his statement, because in my article "Glenn Beck's departure from Fox News" (May 26, 2010) [Part 1]  [Part 2], I said that Beck was "the biggest, fastest, most controversial star in the political commentary business in my lifetime" and pointed out that the White House purportedly referred to him as "the Beck problem."

But jealousy and the establishment have a way of Palinizing those who have the courage to take the road less traveled. So it's not surprising that rumors are now flying about Glenn Beck's ratings decline, his loss of major advertisers and his possible end-of-year departure from Fox News. The word is that the powers that be at Fox supposedly want Beck to put a more positive spin on his commentaries.

Video provided by TheAlyonaShow on Mar 8, 2011
(Do not be surprised if this video disappears.
It is doubtful that The Alyona Show will last very long.)

Not long ago, neocon Bill Kristol took a shot at Beck when he said, "When Glenn Beck rants about the caliphate taking over the Middle East from Morocco to the Philippines, and lists the connections between caliphate-promoters and the American left, he's marginalizing himself." Kristol seems like a nice enough chap, but he's your classic establishment Republican who doesn't like newcomers saying things that go beyond the normal, meaningless Beltway chatter.

Likewise, supercilious Bernard Goldberg, the one-trick-pony who, but for the grace of Bill O'Reilly, would long ago have faded into obscurity, recently made a snide comment that "Beck brings a lot of it on himself."

Really, Bernie? How? By showing actual videos of Van Jones preaching revolution? Of Anita Dunn saying she draws her inspiration from Mao Zedong? Of Mark Lloyd saying that he wants to go beyond the fairness doctrine? Of Frances Fox Piven advocating violence? Of George Soros bragging about how much he enjoys playing God?

This is the kind of stuff Beck has been showing every day for two years now, always encouraging his audience to check out the facts for themselves.

Though Beck is a multi-faceted individual, his greatest talent is that he's a master teacher. His Fox News shows are like going to college, but learning things they don't teach at the most expensive campuses in the country.

And therein, I believe, lies the crux of the problem. Beck is too good of a teacher, something Will Durant warned about when he said, "Woe to him who teaches men faster than they can learn." Most Americans are not yet ready to accept the truths Beck teaches, so they find it easier to dismiss him as a doomsayer or conspiracy nut.

Could James Carville be right? ~ By Robert Ringer

So, if you still like to believe in miracles, here's how the U.S. might still be able to escape what appears to be imminent financial and cultural death: 32 years of Jim DeMint, Allen West, Bobby Jindal and Chris Christie in the White House, all supported by tea-party dominated Houses and Senates. Throw one more (perhaps yet unknown) tea-party president into the mix, and James Carville's prediction of one-party control of Washington for the next 40 years might actually become a reality. It's just that he would have had the wrong party in mind.
Of course, you should definitely read all of Robert's column today, or else you would miss the best part, where he writes about Ron Paul, such as, "I've known Ron Paul for more than 30 years, and he is the most knowledgeable congressman of our time on the issues of constitutional law, personal liberty and, above all, the Federal Reserve and it's chief criminal function of creating worthless paper money." That's just for starters!

I recently discovered the excellent biography series on – of all places – CNBC. Reading and watching biographies on television is an incredible educational tool. Over the past few weeks, I've watched biographies about J.W. Marriott, Henry Ford, Colonel Sanders and Richard Branson, among others.

Now that I've become a shameful CNBC viewer, I find myself clicking to that breeding ground of liberal fantasies from time to time to see if I can catch a good biography. Which means my eyes may briefly be exposed to such intellectual pornography as "Mad Money with Jim Cramer" or "Hardball with Chris Matthews" before I'm able to flip the channel back to Fox. Fortunately, to the best of my knowledge, I have suffered no permanent brain damage.

Which brings me to last Sunday evening. Now firmly entrenched in the habit of flipping to CNBC in search of a good biography, I stumbled across what appeared to be a reality TV show that made me feel as though I had landed on a planet in a faraway galaxy. The show centered around a woman I had never seen before, but whose name I had heard – Suze Orman. I later looked her up on the Internet and found that she is "undeniably America's most recognized expert on personal finance." Quite an impressive moniker, to say the least.

They call it "The Suze Orman Show," but a more appropriate name might be "Economics for Adolescents." It was a truly stunning experience. A viewer called in to ask Ms. Orman to evaluate his financial situation and tell him if she thought he could retire at age 58. She advised him to wait until at least age 60 (shades of Europe), giving him all sorts of grade-school advice without ever alluding to the fact that there are a few pesky realities concerning the U.S. economy he might want to take into consideration. It sounded like something out of the 1950s or '60s – kind of a financial version of "Ozzie and Harriet."

In fairness, let me say that I have no idea whether Ms. Orman is ignorant, totally oblivious to what's going on with the U.S. economy, or just role playing to present herself as an upbeat purveyor of hackneyed financial advice for the masses. Either way, the reason her hollow gibberish had a special impact on me was because on that very day I happened to have been rereading Ron Paul's classic "End the Fed."

The painful Fiorina smile ~ By Robert Ringer

Come to think of it, isn't this the same woman who was caught by a live mic opining that Meg Whitman (the GOP candidate running against Jerry Brown for governor in California) was making a "bad choice" by going on Fox News' "Sean Hannity Show," saying "You know how he is" and that he's "not an easy interview." Wow – if she thinks Sean Hannity is tough, how does she rate Glenn Beck?

Video provided by TheREALjohnny2k

This was a difficult column for me to comment on. When I first read it, I can't say that I agreed with Robert Ringer at all. In fact, I wasn't so sure that I would even include the column in this blog. I didn't want it to hurt the Republican candidate, Carly Fiorina, that is running for the U. S. Senate against Senator Barbara "Don't call me ma'am" Boxer, even if Robert was right.

But then, I watched the two videos included in this column. I wasn't too worried about the video above, where she is caught with an open mic without knowing. It wasn't a train-wreck type of situation.... maybe just a car-wreck. I must say that her comments about Meg Whitman being on Sean Hannity would not be anything that I would want to be public if I were Carly Fiorina. But at least she didn't say anything derogatory about Sean or Fox News! I didn't see anything at all about the open mic incident that was all that damaging. It was just an embarrassing situation for her. It happens. The gaffe-o-meter reading for the incident doesn't come close to any of Joe Biden's gaffes, that's for sure.

However, while she thought that Sean Hannity was a tough interview, that was before she got on with Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday last week (10/24/10). After watching the video that Robert included in his column (see below) several more times, I then realized it wasn't so much that she was unable or unwilling to answer Chris's questions. In fact, contrary to Robert Ringer's opinion, I actually thought that her answers were as good as possible considering what his question was. Chris Wallace kept pointing out that none of her solutions were going to cut enough from the budget. To quote Chris, he said at about 3 minutes into the video, "...Let me ask you a specific question, because I still haven't gotten any specifics from you on how you are going to cut four trillion and even more out of the budget..." Seriously, Chris? I thought the goal was to balance the budget and start paying off our debt. I didn't think it was necessary to cut every penny we spend! And all during that drilling, guess what, she made some excellent points about what the solutions would be, one of them being the most important: grow the economy! And the way to do that is to lower taxes, especially for corporations!

Now that I've pointed out some of the things that Robert was complaining about, I must say that I disagree with him. Is Carly Fiorina a progressive? I don't believe she is, at least on the economic issues. In fact, I'd call her fairly conservative in that regard, especially on the economic issues.

And to the point, how the heck is it going to help us if Barbara Boxer keeps her seat in the Senate? Did Robert forget about the point that if the Republicans do take back the Senate, we could get back control of the committees and what goes on the floor of the Senate for debate and votes? That Republicans could stop any more activist judges from getting on the Supreme Court or Courts of Appeal? Is being able to see Barbara Boxer on C-SPAN going solve anything? No. What we need is to get the Republicans back in the majority, if not in 2010, at least by 2012. If Boxer wins, she'll be there for 6 more years!

I'm hoping that Robert Ringer will go back and watch that video of Carly Fiorina on Fox News Sunday again. It wasn't really all that bad. And if I was being treated that way by Chris Wallace, I would probably have a painful smile, too, if I could even smile at all. Just sayin'...

It's no great surprise that in the days following Fiorina's interview with Chris Wallace, Babs Boxer increased her lead over the former chairman and CEO of Hewlett-Packard, and her embarrassing refusal to answer Wallace's straightforward question might just prove to be enough to allow Boxer to keep her Senate seat.

Which would be no great loss for the Republican Party. They already have a plethora of progressives like Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe within their ranks, so they don't need any more Republicans to reinforce in the public's mind that the GOP does not offer much of an alternative to the Democratic Party's socialist agenda.

Sometimes I secretly wonder if I have a masochist gene in my makeup. Why else would I watch Chris Wallace's recent interview with Carly Fiorina on "Fox News Sunday"? It was an excruciatingly painful experience that had to make tea-party viewers feel as though someone was tinkling on their heads.

I'm not masochistic enough to live in California again, but if I did still live there and someone put a gun to my head and forced me to vote for either Barbara Boxer or Carly Fiorina – who returned to campaigning yesterday after a stint in the hospital – on Nov. 2, I would probably hold my nose and vote for Boxer.

Why would I vote for one of the most arrogant, obnoxious progressives in the Senate – so arrogant and obnoxious that, in a totally serious tone, she dressed down a brigadier general who dared to call her "ma'am" instead of senator? The reason is that I took Michael Corleone's advice seriously in "The Godfather II" when he said, "Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer."

With Boxer, there's no guessing. You know she's the enemy – a staunch enemy of freedom and free markets. I don't want her behind the scenes like Van Jones, Anita Dunn, Jeff Jones, et al. causing mischief. I want her on C-SPAN – nice and close – where I can keep an eye on her socialist activities.

With Carly Fiorina, however, like so many other progressives in the Republican Party, she would undoubtedly be able to fool a lot of muttonheads into believing that she's a conservative – a solid friend of freedom and free markets. Sorry, but based on her lame performance on "Fox News Sunday," it's painfully clear that Fiorina is nothing more than an adult version of Meghan McCain – the diaper-clad, intellectual voice of Republican progressivism.

By my count, Chris Wallace asked Fiorina, a self-proclaimed fiscal conservative, seven times to "name one single entitlement expenditure you're willing to cut." Her answers made Meghan McCain's old man sound like a straight talker. Softy that I am, I was actually embarrassed for her.

Video provided by fshakir1

Following each of Wallace's seven attempts to get an answer to his question, Fiorina offered a filibuster on topics as closely related to the question as the weather, the Bowl Championship Series rankings in college football and Michelle Obama's (two) arms. At one point, she became so desperate that she inexplicably blurted out, "You're asking a typical political question." Hmm … and here all along I thought that's what he was supposed be doing.

In fairness to Fiorina, however, when pressed by Wallace to woman up, she did fall back on the progressive's defensive weapon of choice – "We have to cut waste, fraud and abuse." Gee, I never heard that one before. She must have been picturing Andy Griffith saying, "Gollee, what a great new idear that thar lady just came up with. Ah might just vote fer her if she kin cut waste, fraud and abuse. What'll them smart folks in Washington think of next? Sounds almost as good as Obamacare."

To her dismay, however, each time Fiorina desperately blurted out the answer of choice for weasel politicians, Wallace pointed out, quite correctly, that waste, fraud and abuse were inconsequential in the overall fiscal scheme of things. He also reminded her that politicians have been talking about cutting waste, fraud and abuse for decades, yet it never happens.

Each time Wallace asked her the question, Fiorina found it increasingly difficult to keep her fake smile in place and repress the anger she was feeling toward him. If you like comedic facial contortions, it was a great show. You could almost hear her whispering behind her clenched teeth, "Why in the hell did I ever agree to come on this S.O.B.'s show? Once I get elected, I'll never give him the time of day."

It's no great surprise that in the days following Fiorina's interview with Chris Wallace, Babs Boxer increased her lead over the former chairman and CEO of Hewlett-Packard, and her embarrassing refusal to answer Wallace's straightforward question might just prove to be enough to allow Boxer to keep her Senate seat.
