Things like this just shouldn't happen in little old Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Unfortunately, though, it does. A police officer in C.R. suffered an injury that is life-threatening, right here in my neighborhood. There are occupations that a person must choose to do, and it is their loyalty to those (us) they serve to have to make the ultimate sacrifice.

Missile experts from Iran are in North Korea to help Pyongyang prepare for its rocket launch, according to reports.
Amid increasing global concern over the rocket launch, believed by the US and its allies to be an illegal missile launch, Japan's Sankei Shimbun newspaper claimed today a 15-strong delegation from Tehran has been in the country advising the North Koreans since the beginning of March.
The Iranian experts include senior officials with Iranian rocket and satellite producer Shahid Hemmat Industrial Group, the daily said.
The Iranians brought a letter from Iran President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to North Korean leader Kim Jong-Il stressing the importance of cooperating on space technology, it added.
As tensions increase ahead of the rocket launch, Japan's Air Self-Defense Force began deploying units capable of shooting down a rocket to the northern prefectures of Akita and Iwate, according to local media.
Early today, units carrying Patriot Advanced Capability-3 missiles left a base in central Japan and will arrive at the northern prefectures on Monday, according to Japan's national broadcaster NHK.
Tokyo gave its military the green light to shoot down any incoming North Korean rocket on Friday. [Continue reading]
Revealing the Second Amendment, on the other hand, is essential to the independence of the individual and of the home in 2009. The idea is that all Americans need to be much, much more independent of our public servants, not at their mercy. Whether you're single or married, young or old, gay or straight, you're affected by how we are governed no longer by our consent. Liberals who think big government is some arm of their own sense of social justice will find out as Europe has found out that things don't quite work out that way – they work out the way the officials want it to work out. The earliest warning signs are how the liberals in America are puzzled by the political change of direction. Even they are surprised. [Continue reading]

He has but one design, absolute POWER. Only divine intervention can save us now, since Reaganism and Reason have long been abandoned. Here is an important excerpt from the story:
Before we can change external stimuli like the economy, societal morality, Wall Street, the Supreme Court, Congress, the president, Social Security, Medicare, abortion, or any part of our leviathan government apparatus, we have got to change our heart. Since this is in the metaphysical domain, this "change" cannot occur by media propaganda, political sloganeering, positive thinking or some other artifice of man. This is a job for God. It is important to have an open-minded perspective on the man who presently poses as the president of the United States. In as much as he is an alien black African Communist, it behooves us to consider every dimension of this historical fiasco.
Immature. Like the psychologically challenged Democrat, Bill Clinton, with a troubled, confused childhood, Barry (Barack Hussein Obama) brings before the people of America a case of feigned objectivity and social wisdom. He is obviously chronically dependent on the camera. He must be on stage. He must be talking. He must be looked at. He must be in your face. All America’s face. He has a problem staying in the White House. The recent appearance on a low-down late-night TV show for teenagers and twenty-something college students is typical of where Barry really is, psychologically. He is an adolescent himself. Democrats attract the socially immature and misshapen, the unfortunate and crippled. That the party should continually aggrandize this brand of humanity makes for a grand, all-inclusive public appeal, yes, but these are not the kind of people that need to be in leadership. Ever. This not only sets them up for incorrigible failure, but creates disaster for the larger public. Putting the common, or the lowly, on top, is trying to make heaven on earth. The result? Hell. Always. It is the Pharisacial self-righteousness of the Democrat mind set that brings this about. Manipulating the romantic notions of the “common man.” Nationhood just doesn’t work that way. humanevents.com —Since moving from CNN to Fox News, the Glenn Beck phenomenon has become the hottest topic today among conservatives. To demonstrate his influence, he recommended an obscure book called The 5,000 Year Leap on his radio and TV show, and today it is #1 on Amazon.
The Obama election and the Democrats takeover of government has re-energized the freedom movement, and more and more conservatives are turning to Glenn Beck as their hero.
Beck actually considers himself a libertarian. I was on the Glenn Beck Show two weeks ago, and he asked all his guests -- Steve Moore, Penn Jillette, and me -- if we were libertarians. We all said yes, and he said, “So I am.” He believes in maximum liberty and strict limits on the government’s powers as enumerated in the U. S. Constitution.
The boyish, articulate Beck is a dogmatic defender of the Constitution, which he believes is being perverted by both political parties in Washington.
His top priority is to “take our country back.” His patriotic enthusiasm is intoxicating, and his show is a hit around the country.
Last Friday on the Glenn Beck Show, he announced his 912 Project and his new website, www.the912project.com. His show is so popular that the site immediately crashed. (It’s now up and running.) 912 is a play on “9-11” and refers to “nine values” and “12 principles” based on the Constitution, and in particular, his favorite book called The 5,000 Year Leap: The Miracle that Changed the World. Obama the Insensitive: Makes a Joke on Leno at the Expense of the Special Olympics — Sarah Palin and Maria Shriver Blasta Obama — Does America Have Separate Rules for Race, Class, Gender and Another for Disability (Mental or Physical)?
To give you a taste of the excellent work by ButAsForMe on this matter, please allow me to show you a couple of the videos that were included in that post.
First, there is the disgusting and degrading "humor" of Barack Obama as witnessed on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno:And then, there was this part, my favorite. To quote ButAsForMe once again:
During the campaign for the White House in 2008, the media criticized Palin for being ‘vulgar,’ ‘raw’ and ‘not presidential.’ However, compare Sarah Palins attitude in this video created three weeks ago for the Special Olympics in Boise, Idaho.
You decide the more ‘presidential’ among them.
Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin on Friday criticized President Barack Obama’s gaffe about the Special Olympics, calling his off-handed remark on the Tonight Show “degrading,” especially since it was “coming from the most powerful position in the world.”
“These athletes overcome more challenges, discrimination and adversity than most of us ever will,” Palin said in a statement released Friday. “By the way, these athletes can outperform many of us and we should be proud of them. I hope President Obama’s comments do not reflect how he truly feels about the special needs community.”

Read it for yourself. A judge ordered three normal, well-adjusted, academically superior children into public school, because, I don't know, he was having a bad hair day or something.
The bizarre thing is the mother was not in court for anything having to do with school, home or otherwise. She was in court for some divorce proceedings, and the judge decided that decent, well-behaved Christian children are a bad thing and ordered them to get their beliefs and values "challenged."
He wanted them to have a more "well-rounded" education. I assume his definition of well-rounded includes teaching children to put condoms on bananas, learn a sailor's vocabulary, and discover that rebellion against one's parents is a preferred state of affairs.
But it gets even better... Oh, I'm sorry, I meant to say - emphatically - worse:
To add insult to injury, the mother (not the father, even though he's the one allegedly having an affair) was ordered to undergo a mental evaluation. This is assumedly because she holds conservative Christian beliefs, thus implying that being Christian and conservative is a mental condition that should be overcome. May I suggest the judge be next in line? As in, can we get this guy's head examined?

One can really tell that the International Herald Tribune is the sister publication of the New York Times. Like the New York Times, the IHT never saw a liberal it didn't love or a conservative it didn't hate – or a fact its editors couldn't spin.
The Times generally uses the IHT as its international hit man, reserving its own pages to advance the policies of the Democrat Party.
The IHT ran a story entitled "Is Global Rebranding What Israel Needs?" The piece opened by recognizing Israel as the world's pariah state:
Its sports teams have met hostility and violent protests in Sweden, Spain and Turkey. Mauritania has closed the Israeli Embassy. Relations with Turkey, an important Muslim ally, have suffered severely. A group of top international judges and human rights investigators recently called for an investigation into Israel's actions in Gaza. "Israel Apartheid Week" drew participants in 54 cities around the world this month, twice the number of last year, according to its organizers. And even in the American Jewish community, albeit in its liberal wing, there is a chill.
Having established that everybody hates Israel (even liberal Jews), the columnist, Ethan Bronner, went on to build his case that Israel deserves it:
Of course, for Israel's critics, including those who firmly support the existence of a Jewish state, the problem is not one of image but of policy. They say that four decades of occupation, the settling of half a million Israeli Jews on land captured in 1967, the economic strangling of Gaza for the past few years and the society's growing indifference toward a Palestinian state are all reasons Israel has lost favor abroad, and that no amount of image buffing will change that.
Does anybody remember how Israel ended up "occupying" the land it "captured" in 1967? Israel captured it after beating back the combined forces of the Arab world that had launched a war of annihilation against Israel. And this wasn't the first pan-Arab war aimed at annihilating the Jews – it was the third. [Continue reading]

Every Congressman swears an oath to "… preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States." To a casual observer, these words could be interpreted to mean that laws enacted by Congress should be consistent with the requirements of the Constitution.
To the majority of Congress, these words mean something else, or have no meaning at all, because much of the legislation produced in Washington has no relationship at all with the Constitution.
If we are a nation founded upon the U.S. Constitution, then our laws should be constrained by the Constitution. If we no longer wish to be constrained by our Constitution, we should abandon it and fly by the seat of our congressional pants.
Let's have a constitutional showdown.

Joe Jordan is a man with a mission. Working on UFO reports as part of the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) led him to additional stories of alien abduction. Coming in the door as an agnostic, he worked the cases like any other field investigator and eventually formed CE-4 Research in Florida to concentrate on these cases.
If you have not yet read part one of this story, you can read that piece here.
As his investigation into reported alien abduction continued, Jordan was cautioned by a colleague to be armed - a reference to Biblical study, which he followed up on and became a Christian himself. Following a vision he received during an intensive Biblical training session, he took a second look at witness testimony already reviewed. What startled Jordan - something he had heard, but overlooked in his original investigation - was the fact that some witnesses had revealed how they had ended both a current abduction and any future abductions.
They invoked the name of Jesus Christ.
A follow-up with ufologists from around the country revealed that he was not alone in his findings. Others who had gone before him had discovered similar testimony, but had overlooked it because they either did not know what to do with it, or they were afraid of hurting their research image.
But now word was out. One local newspaper interview with a Gannett publication moved the story out to a wide audience. And the story was posted on web sites - like Flying Saucer Review. Jordan's phone calls suddenly took on a national, rather than local, flavor.
While Jordan's findings may not be universal, he did find enough witnesses where the evidence can be considered repeatable.
"We have repeatability," he said. "And MUFON stresses repeatability." But somehow, he said, it's the "most hated subject in ufology." [Continue reading]

“If this is real. This is huge.”
An agnostic UFO researcher worked the incoming reports and followed up with witnesses in the field. Curiosity fed his hook-up with the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) and set-up up as Florida state section director in Brevard County.
The beat was fielding a regular flow of incoming reports of unidentified flying objects - civilian reports of flying saucers and related anomalies.
Monthly meetings boosted the witness count. Some of those witnesses were reporting alien abduction – a challenge working in a “nuts and bolts” scientific organization – but he soon realized that it’s all part of the same phenomena.
The investigator is Joe Jordan. His story is multi-layered and takes us down a rough and questionable road to get to the truth – a turn to Christianity – and an awakening in him of a simple, historical and rather frightening truth about UFOs and aliens. And no one's talking about it on CNN.
The “real” in “if this is real,” is that an emerging and growing body of alien abduction experiencers seems to have not only discovered a way of ending a single abduction scenario – but a method of halting the abduction process completely – by invoking the name of Jesus Christ. [Continue reading]

What is the breaking point? Where will the resistance form? Heavy questions, but unavoidable in the current political climate. The productive members of society can only be pushed so far, some say.
What they envision is not defiance of law or a reversal of the election. It is people's growing disengagement from a new economic order that punishes effort and rewards envy — the creepy future that Bill Ritter and Barack Obama intend for us. Columnist Michelle Malkin calls that withdrawal "going Galt."
Malkin was the first speaker last weekend when several hundred Coloradans gathered for a free-market leadership conference in Colorado Springs. Her reference was to John Galt, the individualist hero of Ayn Rand's novel, "Atlas Shrugged." She told of seeing a placard at the protest rally for Obama's stimulus bill signing that warned: "Atlas will shrug."
So what, you ask. In human behavior, incentives matter. People are choosers, not automatons. Mess them over enough and they're out of here. All history proves it. Last Friday, I was invited by Radio and Records to speak at a talk radio seminar on a panel discussing the "Fairness Doctrine."
As one of the panelists (Rep. Mike Pence) said, "I didn't know what I was getting into here. All I heard was I was going to L.A. for some R&R!"
By the end of our session, it was very clear that free market capitalism is under attack, not only at the macro level by the Obama administration, but at the industry level (in this case, the radio industry) as well.
Moderated by the effervescent Rita Crosby, four of us on the panel (Rep. Greg Walden, R-Ore., and Mike Pence, R-Ind., legendary talk programmer Brian Jennings and myself) stood up for competition and giving the listening public the programming content of their choice.
Three other panel members (Thom Hartmann, Air America; Stephanie Miller, Dial Global; and Paul "Woody" Woodhull, Media Syndication Services) thought the FCC should require station ownership to be "diverse" and should require talk stations to carry liberal/progressive talk shows.
The two congressmen led off detailing their efforts in Congress to ban the liberal/progressive censorship effort known as the "Fairness Doctrine." They noted the many Democrat representatives who had publicly championed the reimposition of the "Fairness Doctrine" specifically to muzzle critics in conservative talk radio.
I followed with more facts. Of 4,789 AM radio stations in the U.S., about 2,000 of them program some kind of talk, whether political, health, car repair, gardening, relationships, etc. These stations, together with satellite services, cable radio, the Internet, and now even iPod radio give the consumer limitless choices and eliminate the original reason for the "Fairness Doctrine" – that a few station owners could monopolize political discussion.
I quoted the Durbin Amendment (SA 591) to the D.C. voting bill (S. 160) that orders the FCC to require "diversity" in station ownership and "localism" – two code words for censoring conservative talk radio and a back-door method of reimposing the "Fairness Doctrine."
I detailed President Obama's history of advocating the use of the FCC to regulate which views are heard on the radio. I took the audience through the "stimulus" package (noting that the desk on which Obama signed it was the same desk where Clinton got his package stimulated) which provides $2 billion for "community groups" to help fund "community advisory committees" for every talk station so that conservative talk hosts become subject to a barrage of FCC complaints. Marian Merritt writes, "Teens believe taking and sharing the sexy photo of themselves is a natural progression point in a romantic relationship. It's not just step 1, hold hands; step 2, kiss. Now it's step 1, friend on social network; step 2, chat on IM or text; 3, send sexy photos. Crazy!" Chuck talks about what can be done to stop this practice.

California attorney Orly Taitz has emerged as a constitutional heroine in the fight to establish whether Barack Obama is even legally eligible to serve as president of the United States. "The Obama Deception" is a hard-hitting film that completely destroys the myth that Barack Obama is working for the best interests of the American people. The Obama phenomenon is a hoax carefully crafted by the captains of the New World Order. He is being pushed as savior in an attempt to con the American people into accepting global slavery.

The fear mongering alarmists have it down to an art form. They probably even hire "Fear Consultants" to help them utilize doom and gloom to either make a bunch of dough on books or DVDs or ... uh.... forcasts of oceans rising above the Himalaya Mountains and killing us all... that darn man-made global warming thing, you know. Well... fear sells.read more | digg story
Whatever your views on the cause of our current economy, and whatever your views on what is needed to pull us out, remember this: In the end, the only thing you can depend upon is YOU. You're the only who can tighten your belt, buy seeds, stockpile food, plug those financial leaks... whatever it takes. But don't bury your head in the sand!read more | digg story
Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D-CT) has introduced the "Food Safety and Modernization Act of 2009" (HR 875). This new program ignores the 4th Amendment. The administrator can enter and inspect property without a warrant and levy fines without any judicial review. It also includes the NAIS. The lawmakers are ignoring the will of the people and Constitution.
From the article:
Scenarios that use food safety and potential cost of a disease outbreak are smoke screens to distract attention away from the fact that for nearly 80 years there has been no major disease outbreak because existing systems make American food the safest in the world. The system proposed by the NAIS and H.R. 875 would not improve food safety, but would give the federal government absolute control over the food supply of every individual and would bring the United States into compliance with the requirements of United Nations agencies that administer global governance.
By Pat BooneMarch 14, 2009News Bulletin: In a stunning, unprecedented civilian uprising, President Obama, Vice President Biden, Speaker Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Reid were recalled and sent packing. Practically overnight, responding to the national emergency, an extraordinary election propelled entertainer/activist Pat Boone into the White House. The new president just revealed his first-term agenda. ...
Wow, I had this crazy dream last night! Maybe it's something I ate, or more likely, all the insane stuff we've all been hearing constantly on the news. I say "insane" because the measures and pronouncements being made by our president and our Congress – without consulting at all with the folks who elected them! – are truly the stuff of nightmares. But it's all happening, in real time and right before our eyes.
Well, as my dream continued, I saw myself, President Boone, on all media, praying for God's guidance, and then laying out my priorities and commitments to the American people. I believed these were the reasons they had just elected me.[Continue reading]

My friend and colleague Rush Limbaugh is under siege right now from Barack Obama's minions who have placed a target on his back and declared him public enemy No. 1.
I can understand why.
Rush's program is, in many ways, a beacon of truth and common sense in an age of lies and disinformation. He also commands the largest audience of any dissenter from the path of socialism chosen by Obama's Democrats and cheerleaders in the Big Media.
While the Obama crowd is hoping the nation and the world will put behind them Ronald Reagan conservatism, now personified by Rush, they eagerly embrace the failures of the past with a new brand of supercharged Franklin D. Roosevelt-style Big Government.
But are those really the only choices facing this nation?
Is the choice really between Reagan and Roosevelt?
Is the choice between conservatism and liberalism?
Or are there other choices we should consider?
For a long time, I have tried to get my conservative friends to consider a more ambitious agenda – especially as our nation has drifted further and further from its roots in constitutionally limited government, individual liberty and personal responsibility.
While I love Rush and love Reagan, I have to tell you that liberalism is not the only enemy of freedom. We're losing too much ground too fast. We need an offensive agenda to keep America free and prosperous. It's time to realize that even electing another Reagan, if one were on the scene, is not enough to reverse the destruction wrought upon this country's most cherished institutions since he left office in 1989. From what I see, the Republican National Committee representatives who picked Michael Steele as their new chairman made a mistake. I think Steele ought to step aside.
It pains me to say it, but it pains me more to watch the opposition party, the Republican Party, spin aimlessly and leaderless, while the Obama administration shreds to pieces, with ruthless focus and discipline, everything this country stands for.
Yes, of course, the defining moment for me is the recent GQ magazine interview in which Steele sounds more like a Democrat than a Republican. Does a woman have a right to choose abortion? "Yeah. Absolutely." Is homosexual behavior something an individual can choose? "It's like saying, 'Tomorrow morning I'm gonna stop being black.'"
Should we amend the Constitution to define marriage? "I don't like mucking around with the Constitution." I guess Mr. Steele does like mucking around with his own party's platform, which supports such an amendment.
Look, over just the last week, Barack Obama sent to Capitol Hill the most irresponsible budget ever proposed by any president – calling it, as you would only expect from Obama, "A New Era of Responsibility." And he overturned the existing ban on using federal funds to destroy human embryos to do stem cell research – calling it, as you would only expect from an Obama spokesman, "sound scientific practice … instead of dogma in developing federal policy." And what am I writing about? Michael Steele. [Continue reading]
Under the pretext of an imminent economic depression, Obama will use the machinery of government to repress our God-given natural rights of the people on an unprecedented scale. Unless Obama's anti-intellectual, Marxist moves are stopped; this country will no longer be called USA but USSA – the United Socialist States of America.
