WIFLI Briefing for Sep 2, 2012 ~ I'm not afraid! Chuck Norris is on my side!

First, a side note that must be mentioned: A long, long time ago, I shared a column by Robert Stacy McCain, called "How to Get a Million Hits on Your Blog in Less Than a Year," and to this day, it haunts me that I haven't been able to break out of the box. I thought that I had it figured out, but I still found it difficult to succeed in blogging to the point where the numbers of viewers of my blogs are in the millions.

Well, shame on me, for not coming up with Rule #6 of blogging success a little sooner: Quantity and quality of posts on a blog count a whole bunch! I need to work on executing that strategy better.

But, excuse me, because there's another Rule of blogging success that needs to be mentioned. In studying Stacy McCain's Rule #5, I found that there is a critical modification that could be appended: Mention Chuck Norris or Glenn Beck, or both, in one blog post if possible, and it will bring on the viewers.

This is one of my blog posts, now known as the WIFLI Chronicles, that will test that "strategery." While I make sure that you know about the video made by Chuck and Gena Norris, a very recent event, I also needed to go back in history to support the Norris' announcement with a segment from Glenn Beck's Fox News days, way back in 2009. A coincidence? Absolutely not!

What you will see Glenn Beck discussing in a video below, from a long, long time ago -2009 - is what I've known about and tried to tell you in this blog for all these years. And because this blog - Time 2 Escape - didn't get those millions of views I was hoping for, at least now, there is some hope. I now know that I'm not alone. No longer do I have to worry about having enemies because of what I've told you, especially in last month's posts. I've learned that I have Chuck and Gena Norris on my side! There's no reason for me to be afraid! I'm just sayin'...

In America, to have any political power, it is important to find as many like-minded people that you can in order to bring about any change. However, if it was only Chuck Norris that is in agreement, well, I'd say that's good enough for me!  It gives new meaning to, "Don't be afraid! YOU ARE NOT ALONE!"

WIFLI Briefing for May 27, 2012 - The "Flavor of Freedom"

I don't think that anyone could have said it any better. Fighting for our freedom takes a major toll on us. The flavor of freedom can be very bitter.

We honor, on Memorial Day, those that gave their lives in the defense of this country, and the freedom that it stands for. While those that gave their all are our heroes, I have this feeling that it is the loved ones of our fallen that are our true heroes, the ones that have to endure the sacrifice of one of their own. Our children, parents, grandparents, or friends, it is not easy to accept the loss when it happens.

No, the flavor of freedom can be very difficult to swallow. While there are many of us that have never had to taste the feeling of that loss, it is important to know that we can almost comprehend the sorrow. 

As an American who has served in the military, there is that feeling within me that I must continue to do what ever I can to keep the cause of freedom alive. I believe that I must do something today to help with the healing process for those that have lost somebody that was defending our liberty. It is my duty to keep the families and friends of those who gave it all for our freedom in my constant thoughts  and prayers. They are the ones that have to go on with life without a loved one in their immediate sight... for the time being.

You must be warned that what you will read and see in this post could possibly cause uncontrollable weeping. I apologize for the pain that you may encounter, but darn, the flavor of freedom isn't always that tasty. It's my hope that this assignment was a reminder that there are many that will endure the pain of a loss and we must help them endure a hole in their hearts, the best we can. I'm just sayin'...

Meet Sgt. James McIlvaine of Olney, Md. – a handsome 26-year-old U.S. Marine, devoted husband, loving father of two young children and dedicated man anyone would want the privilege of calling a friend.

McIlvaine, known for having a splendid sense of humor that could make a room full of people roar with laughter, served in the U.S. military for nearly eight years – including combat missions in Afghanistan and Iraq.

A natural leader, he knew a thing or two about loyalty, love of his country, service and sacrifice.

In fact, he sacrificed his own life for your freedom.

On April 30, 2009, his five-man explosive ordnance disposal team retrieved a roadside bomb beside an Iraqi police station in Al Anbar province, Iraq. A robot was used to disarm the device, but when the bomb was being transported to a safe location, it exploded without warning.

The blast killed Sgt. McIlvaine instantly.

Several Iraqi policemen and two other team members were killed as well: Staff Sgt. Tony Wojciechowski and Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Tyler Trahan.

Acting quickly, Staff Sgt. Dustin Velzeboer risked his own life to save the remaining crew as a trailer filled with explosives caught fire after the initial blast. The wounded Marine jumped into the truck and drove it away as quickly as possible. As soon as he was far enough away, Velzeboer ran for his life. A large explosion decimated the vehicle, but everyone, including Velzeboer, was shielded from the blast. The Marine Corps awarded Velzeboer a Bronze Star with “V” device for his courage that day in Iraq.

But the deaths of those Marines filled their families and friends with unbearable heartache practically unimaginable by those who haven’t experienced such profound loss.

Sgt. McIlvaine left behind his wife, Cheryl, and children, Michael and Alexa, who were just 7 and 3 at the time of their father’s death.

Herman Cain is for real ~ By Joseph Farah

Chelsea Schilling, a reporter for WND, hit it on the head over a year ago when she asked, "Is this man Obama's worst nightmare?", and Herman Cain responded with, ""Quite frankly, I could beat Barack Obama."

Right now, the Cain detractors are getting frantic. They weren't expecting the Herman Cain surge in the polls, surpassing Mitt Romney in the latest NBC/WSJ poll.

Joseph Farah lays it out in this column. It is clear that Cain has become a threat to the Obama re-election campaign. It explains the state-controlled media (Yahoo, for example) effort to try to discredit Cain with the lie about WND, as Farah discusses.

While Farah isn't formally endorsing Herman Cain in this column, he does say:

He [Cain] may be the very best candidate to take out Obama in 2012.

He may indeed be Obama's "worst nightmare."

It looks like a genuine, home-spun, non-politician, conservative candidate for the Republican presidential nomination is emerging.

His name is Herman Cain.

And the evidence of the threat he represents to a second term of Barack Obama is clear from the attacks being leveled in his direction by the media, by the Democrats and by the sycophantic entitlement mongers who think government's coercive power should be used to get "their fair share" even though they don't work to earn it.

You know what's happening when Yahoo! News goes after Cain because of his association with me – and all I represent because I believe the Constitution should be honored, even when it comes to the trivial matter of who is eligible to be president.

As with most such feeble attempts to sling mud against Cain, who now leads the GOP presidential pack by a significant margin, according to several polls, the very basis of the attack is [a] lie.

"For the past two years, Herman Cain has written a weekly column that is advertised as 'exclusive commentary' for WorldNetDaily, a website that is the online hub for people who believe that President Barack Obama was not born in the United States," it begins. Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.

Obama's 'worst nightmare' seeks showdown with prez

Cain said he doesn't think he'll have a problem convincing establishment Republicans to accept him as a legitimate candidate.

"They are not going to reject me," he said confidently. "They're going to slowly warm up to me because I think they are starting to see that I'm creating a lot of excitement."

At the Georgia Republican Convention on May 14, Cain was reportedly greeted with 10 standing ovations that dwarfed those given to former House Speaker Newt Gingrich.

"He defies the media's idea of what a Republican is," one delegate told the Southern Political Report. "He's a black entrepreneur who speaks for everyone. That's something people are warming up to. Plus, he hasn't held [elective] office before, so he has no record that people can take issue with. He's popular."

On "The Rush Limbaugh Show" today, one caller told Limbaugh he is leaning toward voting for Herman Cain in the Republican primary.

"I don't think anybody is a long-shot right now," Limbaugh responded. "There's nothing that says Herman Cain can't win this thing."

But does Cain have what it takes to compete with Obama's massive fundraising efforts?

As one supporter put it, "Obama might be raising $1 billion, but the voters in this country are going to raise some Cain."

There was an excellent question Chelsea asked Herman Cain that I have to share with you here. Chelsea had asked Herman if he "believes the mainstream media will give him preferential treatment because he is a black candidate, just as they appeared to do with Obama during the 2008 campaign." Before you read the complete column where you will read Herman's excellent response, ponder on that question for awhile. How would you want a Presidential candidate for the Republican Party to answer that question?  How do you think Herman responded? I will only give you this one clue: Herman knows that the Obama supporters will forget that he is black, and he knows that the opponents will vilify him for being Conservative.

This week, Glenn Beck announced his Restoring Courage Rally to be held in Jerusalem in August of this year, which is why I decided to  excerpt this part of the column.  This is where Chelsea had quoted from Herman's column this week. I am sure that you will clearly see that it is directly related to what Barack Obama had proposed in a speech yesterday, and what he will talk to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu about today.

In light of these events, it is vital for you to know where Herman stands on Israel:

"On the other hand, I do know enough about our solid relationship with Israel from decades of observations that I would make it even stronger, a move that isn't just about dollars. And, I would not be hesitant to let the rest of the world know that we will stand by and with our friends."

You get the idea, right? Not since 1979 when Ronald Reagan was addressing the nation in various places have I been this excited! And I hope that you will soon join me in this excitement, if you haven't already! We know that "Spooky Dude" (George Soros) will have his minions out in force once "The Hermanator" becomes the Conservative force in the flesh.

Just forget what the establishment Republicans (RINOs) want. That hasn't worked out for election victories for the GOP.  I just want to prove to you that this is the person that should be the top CONSERVATIVE candidate for the Republican ticket - that can win!  So, watch this recent video with me, and then you decide. An American success story and tea-party favorite who could be Obama's "worst nightmare" tells WND he will make a "very important announcement" to the nation in less than 48 hours.

"I feel God's hand in this decision that I'm going to announce on Saturday, May 21, in Atlanta at Centennial Olympic Park at high noon," Herman Cain, an Atlanta radio talk-show host, former CEO of Godfather's Pizza and 2004 Senate seeker, told WND. "We're expecting more than 5,000 people to be there at the announcement rally."

An invitation on his presidential exploratory committee website notes that Cain will share "his final decision about a potential run for the White House in 2012." His announcement will be broadcast live on his website.

Hinting at a launch of a 2012 campaign, Cain said, "People are starting to see through the broken promises, the failed policies and lack of leadership of President Obama.

"Americans will do a double take when they hear me talk about my common-sense solutions – they are going to say what thousands of people have said over the past several months: He makes sense. He makes it clear. He gives solutions, and he's not afraid to lead. That's what people want to see."


Will Obama meet his match?

In an exclusive July 2010 interview, Cain, a devout Christian, disclosed to WND that he has been "prayerfully considering" a bid for the GOP nomination. He also said he would "take the race card off the table" in a challenge against Obama as the GOP presidential candidate in 2012.

"We need a realistic candidate to run on the Republican ticket who can beat Barack Obama – not just beat the Democrats," Cain said. "We've also got to beat Barack Obama."

He added, "Obama is a master of rhetoric. He is a master of deceptive language. And any white candidate who runs against him will be up against the race card. I take the race card off the table."

As WND reported, Cain recently wowed a focus group of 29 likely GOP voters assembled by pollster Frank Luntz following a May 5 Republican presidential debate in South Carolina.

Even Luntz said the reaction of the group was unprecedented in its unanimity – Cain won. Most of those participating in the focus group had no previous familiarity with Cain. Only one of those bowled over by Cain watched the debate with intention of voting for him.

Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich and Michele Bachmann skipped the debate. The event included former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, Ron Paul, Rick Santorum and former New Mexico Gov. Gary Johnson in addition to Cain.

After talk-radio host Rush Limbaugh watched the South Carolina debate, he declared to his listeners, "Herman Cain made me think I was listening to me in every answer."

"The debate was absolutely a catalyst," Cain told WND. "Our online volunteers and online contributions increased significantly. The media requests have also increased significantly. A lot of people already knew who I was, especially when they read my articles, but after they saw me live on that Fox News debate, things have been going up exponentially ever since."

Cain blew the competition away once again, receiving 28 percent of more than 2,300 votes, in a recent WND poll that asked, "Who's your choice for Republican presidential nominee in 2012?" Ron Paul came in second, garnering 13 percent, while Sarah Palin, Allen West and Michele Bachmann each received 7 percent of the votes. Donald Trump, Chris Christie and Newt Gingrich each received 4 percent or less.

Is this man Obama's worst nightmare?

In my humble opinion? This is the guy! He IS the worst nightmare that Obama could ever have!

I love this guy. The Hermanator, as he's affectionately called, knows what it takes to succeed. I'm not talking about HIS success, but rather, what it would take for America and it's people to succeed. First, he believes strongly in working hard, what he calls "sweat equity."

What is even more exciting about Herman Cain is that there is nothing that has to be hidden. His resume is out in the open. He's transparent. You would not be prevented from seeing his birth records, school and college transcripts, work history, and his Christian values. He sticks to his beliefs. Herman isn't the kind of person that would get into politics and campaigning for office with a finger in the air to see which way the wind is blowing. He just sticks to his creed.

On a video I uploaded to youtube back in March 2010, I have a segment with Herman Cain explaining why employment increases haven't come along with the "improving economy." The problem is because of uncertainty. Watch this:

I implore you to check out this column, plus two others that I have posted here. It just happens that Joseph Farah started this Hermanator firestorm with his column, "Herman Cain is his name" on Saturday, July 24, 2010. And then, you must read the column that the Hermanator wrote on Monday, July 26, 2010: "Georgia shows: There is hope in the vote." He talks about sweat equity, and then he goes out and sets the example.

Now, in my heart, I know this is the guy that could help us take back America - a transformation that would help ALL Americans have equal opportunity to succeed in life. Obviously, though, the one thing that could hold back any political candidate from deciding to run for an office, and then WIN, is limited resources. However, as I am sure the Hermanator would agree, is that by gaining exposure through the grass roots, necessary financial support would come in for him. So, for now, I'll hope that you spread the word around about Herman Cain. He really could be Obama's worst nightmare! Just sayin'...

Another major influence in his life was Cain's high-school math teacher, Charles S. Johnson.

Johnson told Cain in a southern drawl, "Hummin Cain, you can be whatever you want to be. You might have to work a little harder. You might have to work a little longer."

"I never forgot those words," he said. "As I got older and started to be challenged in the business world, whenever things got tough, I thought about the words of Mr. Johnson, or I thought about the fact that my dad used to work three jobs. That would give me a second wind to confront whatever challenges I needed to take on."

'The One' may have met his match in emerging presidential candidate

He could be President Obama's worst nightmare – a business mastermind, a natural problem solver and a black man of "substance" who says he would "take the race card off the table" in a challenge against Obama as the GOP presidential candidate in 2012.

"We need a realistic candidate to run on the Republican ticket who can beat Barack Obama – not just beat the Democrats," Herman Cain, an Atlanta radio talk-show host, former CEO of Godfather's Pizza and 2004 Senate seeker, told WND. "We've also got to beat Barack Obama."

He added, "Obama is a master of rhetoric. He is a master of deceptive language. And any white candidate who runs against him will be up against the race card. I take the race card off the table."

Cain, a devout Christian, emphasized he is "prayerfully considering" a 2012 bid for the GOP nomination.

"I'm a man of faith, and I do believe in prayerful consideration of something this big," he explained.

In addition to serving as the former president and CEO of Godfather's Pizza for 10 years, Cain, 64, is also former president and CEO of the National Restaurant Association and former chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. He's been vice president of Burger King, vice president of Pillsbury Company, a mathematician for the U.S. Department of the Navy and a business analyst for Coca-Cola. He has a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Morehouse College and a master's degree in computer science from Purdue University.

Cain is now president and CEO of The New Voice, a WND columnist, host of "The Herman Cain Show" and an associate Baptist minister at Antioch Baptist Church in Atlanta. He is author of several books, including "They Think You're Stupid."

If he can garner enough support – through contributions, volunteers and heartfelt prayer – Cain believes he may be the man to unseat Obama.

Nicknamed "The Hermanator," Cain has more than 17,000 fans of his Facebook page, 5,000 Twitter fans and 45,000 members in his Intelligent Thinkers Movement. He is urging supporters to sign up for his political-action committee and help raise funds for conservative candidates for the 2010 election. He said support for that effort will help him gauge his backing for a 2012 bid.

"If I can get that kind of encouragement in trying to change Congress, it will be great encouragement in terms of possibly helping me make that decision as to whether or not I can do this," he said. "We're developing a ground game all over this country. We'll have a way to mobilize all of those people."

His supporters have launched a "Draft Herman Cain for President 2012" effort to develop teams of volunteers and build a grass-roots base for a presidential campaign.

"That's been growing like gangbusters," Cain said. "That's the sort of thing I'll be looking at in the next couple of months in making this decision."

"If we're going to win this fall, we have to be united," he said. "If we split up, we'll end up with two more years of the Obama-Pelosi-Reid axis of fiscal evil."

He caused quite an uproar as a CNN anchor when he advocated for stronger U.S. border enforcement and when he refused to drop "birther" stories about challenges to President Obama's constitutional eligibility to hold office.

Now he's a headlining speaker at the second tea-party convention in July in Las Vegas, an event geared toward unifying the tea-party movement in the run-up to the fall congressional elections.

Lou Dobbs will rally tea partiers at the National Tea Party Unity Convention, July 15-17, at the Palazzo Las Vegas Resort in Nevada. The Tea Party Nation, along with ResistNet, Leadership Tea Party, the Tea Party Leadership Coalition and other groups, is organizing the event.

"Lou Dobbs is just an amazing guy," Tea Party Nation President Judson Phillips told WND. "He stood up to the powers that be at CNN. He had a very high-rated show there, and he could have kept towing the party line and doing what they wanted him to do. But he spoke up for America."

In 2009, Dobbs was voted to the top 10 list of the most important radio talk-show hosts in America by Talkers Magazine. He graduated from Harvard University with a degree in economics.

The award-winning journalist and best-selling author's refusal to drop "birther" stories about challenges to Obama's constitutional eligibility to hold office was a major source of contention with CNN management, leading the unconventional anchor to walk away from the network and more than $9 million in November, the New York Post reported.

The Post, citing anonymous sources, said the beginning of the end of a long-simmering dispute came in July last year, when CNN President Jonathan Klein told Dobbs' staff in a memo to stop reporting on lawsuits that demand Obama produce evidence he's a natural-born American citizen, as required by the Constitution.

Dobbs said several times he believed Obama was a U.S. citizen, and all he wanted was the president to produce a copy of his birth certificate, but the network clamped down on the host nonetheless.

Dobbs, who also hosts a nationally syndicated radio show, told his radio audience in July that "even though I said I believe the president is a citizen of the United States, I don't understand why he shouldn't produce a birth certificate. My God, you're talking about the third rail of American journalism, baby! That's it. I'm not going to back off."

In a November column, WND CEO and Editor Joseph Farah called Dobbs a "real newsman" whose departure from CNN after 30 years left the network "in a state of programming irrelevancy."

"What makes Lou Dobbs so special," Farah writes, "is his independence and fearlessness. Dobbs clearly set his own agenda. He had no interest in the 'conventional wisdom' of his industry. Dobbs thinks like a real American newsman – a throwback to an age when journalists actually believed they were watchdogs of government and asked tough questions in the interests of the people."

The New York Post also noted that CNN had long been asking Dobbs to "tone down his harsh rhetoric" on issues such as immigration. For years, in his "Broken Borders" segment, Dobbs warned of the dangers of illegal immigration. Several campaigns were launched to convince CNN to "dump Dobbs."

As WND reported, Dobbs told his radio audience Oct. 26 a gunshot was fired into his home after a series of threatening phone calls.

Dobbs said advocacy groups that support illegal immigration pressed for him to be fired and had been "unrelenting in their propaganda."

Outspoken opponents of Dobbs include the Southern Poverty Law Center, the Anti-Defamation League, the National Council of La Raza, Internet media watchdog Media Matters and Geraldo Rivera of Fox News.

Anger at Washington reaches full throttle

WE the PEOPLE are irate, and we're not going let this be easy for Congress to pass health care, in whatever unorthodox way that they will use, to get ObamaCare to the President to sign. Hopefully, the TEA Party patriots will be swarming Washington D.C. and the halls of the Capitol this weekend, and maybe the Congress-critters will get the idea before they transform America into a Socialist state.

Freedomworks reported 130 economists signed a letter to the White House warning that the tax hikes needed to pay for a $1 trillion plan would slow economic growth and eliminate jobs. They warned that the bill would raise taxes by almost $500 billion over 10 years and a significant portion of the tax increases would fall on small business owners. ...

"In addition to constricting economic growth and reducing employment, the health care bill will increase spending on health care and will increase the cost of health coverage," the economists wrote. "The new and higher taxes on America's small businesses and workers included in the bill are detrimental to job creation and economic growth, especially now given the fragile state of the economy."

Millions of Americans urged to 'drive stake through the heart' of Obamacare

The level of intense anger at Washington is heating up as several high-profile groups are calling on millions of Americans to slam Congress with phone calls, e-mails and faxes demanding that lawmakers vote "no" on the health-care bill.

As WND reported, reforms pushed by President Obama and other Democrats may be approved without ever actually having a direct vote, but could be "deemed" to have been passed and then signed into law by Obama. The process is called the "Slaughter Strategy," named for Rep. Louise Slaughter, D-N.Y., who chairs the House Rules Committee.

'Deceiving the American people'

Liberty Counsel, a nonprofit group that focuses on constitutional litigation, has distributed a letter to every member of the House, showing that the proposed "Slaughter Strategy" is unconstitutional. Its members have slammed Congress with more than 250,000 faxes expressing outrage over the bill.

Article I, Section 7 of the U.S. Constitution states, "Every Bill which shall have passed the House of Representatives and the Senate, shall, before it become a law, be presented to the President of the United States; … in all such Cases the Votes of both Houses shall be determined by yeas and Nays, and the Names of the Persons voting for and against the Bill shall be entered on the Journal of each House respectively."

The Founding Fathers included Article I, Section 7 in the Constitution to keep Congress accountable to the people, Liberty Counsel explained.

"House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Rep. Louise Slaughter are attempting to deceive the American people by refusing to cast votes on the actual language in the Senate health-care bill," the group said in a statement. "The president and his allies in Congress are masters of confusion and deception. They have a political agenda which distorts the facts regarding health care."

Liberty Counsel warned that the Senate health-care bill funds abortion, rations care, limits freedom and will bankrupt America.

"The president and his allies in Congress are masters of confusion and deception. They have a political agenda which distorts the facts regarding health care," said Mathew Staver, founder of Liberty Counsel. "Last night President Obama said he is not concerned with the process. In other words, the end justifies any means. It is unbelievable that the president would disregard the Constitution and the rule of law to push a narrow political agenda that most Americans have rejected."

'Fourth down and goal to go'

Likewise, the American Family Association, or AFA, has joined the fight, sending out action alerts to its entire 2.5 million-member network, urging them to contact their representatives and press them to vote "no" on any and all versions of health-care reform proposals.

AFA also sent targeted action alerts into districts of 46 Democratic congressmen whose positions on this weekend's vote remain uncertain.

Buddy Smith, AFA executive vice president said, "It's fourth down and goal to go, and Democrats are trying desperately to push government takeover of health care across the goal line. The American people need to stand as one against this radical attempt to remake our country and put government bureaucrats between their families and their health-care providers."

Obama Justice Department shut down ACORN probe

Don't worry, folks, it's just your normal Chicago-style political thugocracy. That is why I inserted the OBAMACORN logo into this post. It is the symbol of the Obama-ACORN alliance, and what could keep us from ever having another election that isn't tainted with the corruption, and leads right back to the man sitting in the Oval Office.

"These documents reflect systematic voter registration fraud by ACORN," said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. "It is a scandal that there has been no comprehensive criminal investigation and prosecution by the Justice Department into this evident criminal conduct."


He added, "Given President Obama's close connections to ACORN, including his campaign's hiring of the ACORN's Project Vote organization, it seems rather obvious why Attorney General Holder has failed to seriously investigate these and other alleged ACORN criminal activities."

FBI documents 'reflect systematic voter registration fraud'

A nonpartisan, political watchdog group announced today that it has obtained documents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation detailing federal investigations into the alleged corrupt activities of Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, or ACORN.

Judicial Watch revealed that the documents it acquired reference serious allegations of corruption and voter registration fraud by ACORN and the Obama administration's decision to shut down the criminal investigation without filing criminal charges.

Included among the records are two complaints filed in October 2008 by Lucy Corelli and Joseph Borges, Republican Registrars of Voters in Stamford and Bridgeport, Connecticut, respectively, during the 2008 election year.

Corelli reported that on Aug. 1, 2008, her office accessed 1,200 ACORN voter registration cards from the secretary of state's office – of which, 300 cards were rejected due to "duplicates, underage, illegible and invalid addresses." She said the invalid cards "put a tremendous strain on our office staff and caused endless work hours at taxpayers' expense." Judicial Watch reports Corelli claimed the additional work caused by ACORN corruption cost $20,000.

According to the documents, Borges stated, "The organization ACORN during the summer of 2008 conducted a registration drive which has produced over 100 rejections due to incomplete forms and individuals who are not citizens. …"

Borges reported that ACORN even registered a 7-year-old child to vote by using a forged signature and fake birth certificate claiming she was 27 years old.

The FBI and Department of Justice opened an investigation. But Judicial Watch noted that the Obama Justice Department, while acknowledging that ACORN had engaged in "questionable hiring and training practices," closed the investigation in March 2009, claiming ACORN had broken no laws.

May Day! Americans call upon God to forgive nation

A call to prayer day is scheduled for May 1, 2010, at the Lincoln Memorial.

However, [Janet Porter] said the good news is there's a way to break that curse.

Christian, Jewish leaders urge believers to join day of repentance in Washington

Christian and Jewish leaders are inviting Americans to join them at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C., to pray and repent for how the nation has turned from God.

"May Day: a Cry to God for Our Nation in Distress" will take place May 1 from sunrise to 2 p.m. at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C.

"Our nation faces what is perhaps the most serious moral crisis since the civil war as we've turned our backs on God and have clearly displeased him," Dr. James Dobson said in an invitation to Americans to attend the event. "May Day 2010 is a time to come together and proclaim what God has done in the past, to pray for forgiveness and to plead for God's mercy on all of us."

They will gather for one purpose: repentance.

The group will repent for how the nation has turned from God in every area of influence: 1) business 2) government, 3) media, 4) arts and entertainment, 5) education, 6) the family and 7) religion and invite God back into each area of Americans' lives.

Dobson is part of a 36-member committee organizing the event. Other committee members include Rep. Randy Forbes, R-Va., Rep. Trent Franks, R-Ariz., Rep. Louie Gohmert, R-Texas, Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa, WND columnist and Faith2Action President Janet Porter, WND senior staff reporter Jerome Corsi, Tim Wildmon of the American Family Association, Wendy Wright of Concerned Women for America, Don VanCurler of Coral Ridge Ministries, Mat Staver of Liberty Counsel, Dr. Rick Scraborough of Vision America, Troy Newman of Operation Rescue, Dr. Jerry Newcombe of Coral Ridge Hour, Chaplain Gordon James Klingenschmitt and others.

Does Glenn Beck really believe in global warming?

I've been listening to or watching Glenn Beck for a long time, and I would really have to say I don't think that Glenn believes in global warming. Maybe Glenn will talk about it on his radio show this morning.

"Is this satire? I really want to know!"

That's just one of many questions bloggers and Glenn Beck fans are asking about a Feb. 21 interview story in a leading national Sunday-newspaper magazine that claims the newest superstar among conservatives "believes in global warming."

"You'd be an idiot not to notice the temperature change," Beck said, according to USA Weekend.

Writer Dennis McCafferty reported Beck also thinks global warming could be caused partly by man's activity. At home, he's going green by using energy-saving products, according to the report.

On his top-rated nationally syndicated morning radio show and Fox News Channel television program Beck has been a frequent critic of scientists and advocates such as Al Gore who contend man is causing catastrophic changes in the Earth's climate. Many Beck supporters say his record of opposition to global warming alarmism should speak for itself.

In response to some suggestions that a layer of pollution be released into the atmosphere to cool the earth and counteract global warming, Beck said in a 2007 segment on his show, "Welcome to Crazy Town, USA."

"I believe something is happening. I'm not sticking my head in the sand here. Global warming probably is having ... global climate change is real. It probably is natural," Beck said. He railed against Al Gore's proposed solutions to offset the purported effects global warming.

"A lot of people say the planet is doomed, and global warming is here to stay," Beck said. "I don't know. There's bound to be a solution to this. I think we just need to start looking outside the box."

In yet another 2007 segment, Beck gave a preview of his book, "An Inconvenient Book." He specifically referenced Chapter 1, titled, "Global Warming: Storming and Conforming."

"I wrote this chapter basically as kryptonite for you to use against your Gore-worshipping psycho friends," he said.

Just two days after the USA Weekend story ran, Beck equated proponents of global warming with conspiracy theorists who intentionally deceive Americans.

"We know they're capable of continuing the charade on global warming even though the consensus is currently imploding, there is no consensus," he said. The scientists themselves are saying that. The science is bogus. It is falling apart. … We're still having our politicians tell us, 'We're not going to be able to leave a planet for our kids if we don't act now on cap and trade."

He continued, "They're willing to bankrupt the entire world for a lie."

American heroes could get swapped for hip-hop culture in textbooks

A state board of only 15 people will vote on whether to revise U.S. textbooks to omit references to Daniel Boone, Gen. George Patton, Nathan Hale, Columbus Day and Christmas.

The Texas State Board of Education will also vote on a proposal to substitute the term "American" with "global citizen."

Mathew Staver, founder and chairman of Liberty Counsel, is warning Americans to speak up before only eight people, with a majority vote, have a chance to literally rewrite American history.

He appeared on the "Huckabee Show" to explain why the board's vote matters to the rest of America. Staver said Texas and California are the two largest textbook purchasers in the nation.

"Whatever textbooks they select affect the rest of the country because publishers publish those kinds of books, and the rest of the country follows," he said.

But because of California's budget crisis, the state hasn't been able to purchase as many new textbooks, he explained. So the default is Texas.

"So when this 15-member board – eight people of that will make a majority – make a decision, it will affect the entire nation," Staver said.

Those eight people could decide what children will learn in various other parts of the country.
