Lone Survivor beats all box office predictions in impressive opening weekend ~ Glenn Beck

“As you will see, the most honorable thing a friend can do for his brothers, Marcus Luttrell has done and told this story and made it appropriate for their death. And you will be amazed at the honor of these men. Truly amazed and humbled,” Glenn concluded. “If you don’t walk out of there going, ‘What am I doing with my life?’ ‘What is important to me?’ If you don’t walk out of that movie theater feeling that, I don’t know, you need to watch it again or check yourself into a hospital to see if you have a heart or a soul.” ~ Glenn Beck

This news mirrors exactly what I expected to happen. It isn't because I'm psychic, either, but because I was aware of Marcus Lutrell's story, thanks to Glenn Beck. I had heard Glenn's interview with Marcus quite some time ago while listening to the show in progress (not just a repeat or a clip). I've also come across a lot of people that have told me that they plan to go to the theater to see this movie. I plan on seeing "Lone Survivor" in the next few days.
Based on the failed June 28, 2005 mission "Operation Red Wings." Four members of SEAL Team 10, were tasked with the mission to capture or kill notorious Taliban leader, Ahmad Shahd. Marcus Luttrell was the only member of his team to survive.

There is a good reason why I've voluntarily propagated this story even further. This is a message to Hollyweird. America isn't going for movies like "The Wolf of Wallstreet." It isn't what America wants to see. Patriots like movies that show courage and resilience and heroes that are fighting for America!

And guess what?!! Hey, Hollywood, there are many more patriots here in America than you ever dreamed of!

If you want Hollywood to know how many patriots there are in America, and if "Lone Survivor" is the kind of movie you want Hollywood to produce, please help this post keep propagating! You can share it with your friends on Twitter or Facebook or by word of mouth. Just sayin'...

Lone Survivor, the film adaption of former Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell’s bestselling book of the same name, had a historical weekend at the box office.

“If you haven’t seen Lone Survivor, you need to,” Glenn said on radio this morning. “Second biggest opening in January of any movie. They were surprised by it… They thought it was going to be $14 million. It was $38 million. This thing is going to make well over $100 million and then some.”

Lone Survivor finished the weekend as the number one movie in America bringing in $38.5 million. It bested Disney’s Frozen, which came in at number two, earning $15 million in its eighth weekend, and Paramount’s The Wolf of Wall Street earning $9 million in its third weekend. The opening weekend marked the second biggest January opening ever after the $40.1 million debut of 2008′s Cloverfield.

WIFLI Briefing for May 27, 2012 - The "Flavor of Freedom"

UPDATE May 28, 2012:
I am dedicating the this WIFLI Briefing, "The 'Flavor of Freedom'," to possibly the bravest in the land of the brave and home of the free.

UPDATE May 30, 2012:
I am extremely honored and humbled by the inclusion of this column in an article written on The Christian Post by Alex Murashko on May 28, 2012, "Survey: Nearly Half of Americans Lost Relative or Friend to War".

"Those who expect to reap the benefits of freedom, must, like men, undergo the fatigue of supporting it." ~ Thomas Paine
I don't think that anyone could have said it any better. Fighting for our freedom takes a major toll on us. The flavor of freedom can be very bitter.

We honor, on Memorial Day, those that gave their lives in the defense of this country, and the freedom that it stands for. While those that gave their all are our heroes, I have this feeling that it is the loved ones of our fallen that are our true heroes, the ones that have to endure the sacrifice of one of their own. Our children, parents, grandparents, or friends, it is not easy to accept the loss when it happens.

No, the flavor of freedom can be very difficult to swallow. While there are many of us that have never had to taste the feeling of that loss, it is important to know that we can almost comprehend the sorrow.

As an American who has served in the military, there is that feeling within me that I must continue to do what ever I can to keep the cause of freedom alive. I believe that I must do something today to help with the healing process for those that have lost somebody that was defending our liberty. It is my duty to keep the families and friends of those who gave it all for our freedom in my constant thoughts  and prayers. They are the ones that have to go on with life without a loved one in their immediate sight... for the time being.

You must be warned that what you will read and see in this post could possibly cause uncontrollable weeping. I apologize for the pain that you may encounter, but darn, the flavor of freedom isn't always that tasty. It's my hope that this assignment was a reminder that there are many that will endure the pain of a loss and we must help them endure a hole in their hearts, the best we can. I'm just sayin'...

Welcome to this edition of Time 2 Escape WIFLI Briefing!

What is WIFLI?
You may be wondering what the acronym "WIFLI" means. I started out by calling these issues the Time 2 Escape Daily, but that didn't work out very well. I quickly learned that putting these issues together on a daily basis was a task I was unable to accomplish. To replace "Daily" in the title, I borrowed the acronym WIFLI, which literally means "When I Feel Like It." Putting together a post on this blog WIFLI works much better for my schedule, and for the higher quality of each issue that is eventually published!

Fallen heroes and the 'flavor of freedom'
See powerful wartime story of loss and survivors' incredible journey to healing
From WND ~ By Chelsea Schilling ~ Published May 26, 2012

CHELSEA SCHILLING
Meet Sgt. James McIlvaine of Olney, Md. – a handsome 26-year-old U.S. Marine, devoted husband, loving father of two young children and dedicated man anyone would want the privilege of calling a friend.

McIlvaine, known for having a splendid sense of humor that could make a room full of people roar with laughter, served in the U.S. military for nearly eight years – including combat missions in Afghanistan and Iraq.

A natural leader, he knew a thing or two about loyalty, love of his country, service and sacrifice.

Marine Sgt. James McIlvaine
In fact, he sacrificed his own life for your freedom.

On April 30, 2009, his five-man explosive ordnance disposal team retrieved a roadside bomb beside an Iraqi police station in Al Anbar province, Iraq. A robot was used to disarm the device, but when the bomb was being transported to a safe location, it exploded without warning.

The blast killed Sgt. McIlvaine instantly.

Several Iraqi policemen and two other team members were killed as well: Staff Sgt. Tony Wojciechowski and Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Tyler Trahan.

Acting quickly, Staff Sgt. Dustin Velzeboer risked his own life to save the remaining crew as a trailer filled with explosives caught fire after the initial blast. The wounded Marine jumped into the truck and drove it away as quickly as possible. As soon as he was far enough away, Velzeboer ran for his life. A large explosion decimated the vehicle, but everyone, including Velzeboer, was shielded from the blast. The Marine Corps awarded Velzeboer a Bronze Star with “V” device for his courage that day in Iraq.

But the deaths of those Marines filled their families and friends with unbearable heartache practically unimaginable by those who haven’t experienced such profound loss.

Sgt. McIlvaine left behind his wife, Cheryl, and children, Michael and Alexa, who were just 7 and 3 at the time of their father’s death.

The high-tech battle against scammers ~ By Phil Elmore

Obviously, the illegitimate "collection agency" in question is a boiler-room operation whose goal is to frighten people into paying bills they do not owe. Armed with a little customer information (information they surely acquired illegally, either through hacking and identity theft or by some other means), they are, essentially, bluffing. They tell a customer that he or she owes the money and that customer, fearful of being "sent to collections" and having a corresponding credit blot, sends the money to make the problem go away.

As savvy consumers in a technologically connected age, we cannot afford to be complacent. We also cannot afford to give in to fear, to intimidation tactics and to brazen lies. If you are told you owe money, especially for a long overdue debt, take the time to research the problem. Only armed with information can you fight scam artists and thieves.

Before battle is joined, you must understand what you do not know. It is not enough to know that you don't understand.

I personally know people that have been victims of scams. In fact, while I was still working on this post today, I found out that a friend was the victim of his debit/credit card being used by an unauthorized person just last night, for over $1,000!! I am sure that all us know somebody that has been been burned by some type of scam, fraud, or cyber-theft, and hopefully one of those people isn't the person you see in the mirror. The reason that I chose this column to write about today is because I hope to help prevent any of my readers - and whoever they share this with (hint, hint) - from becoming victims!

Phil Elmore's column deals with a fraud scenario where the scammers were using a collection notice and lying about a debt that is owed. Because the potential victim used his technological resources that Phil mentions here, he was able to avoid getting scammed out of over $900.00. But, in the age of technology with the world wide web, email, and smart phones, there are so many ways that the criminals can scam people out of their hard earned money.

In the case of Phil's friend, the scam he focuses on involves a criminal ring, that should they be apprehended, will face some serious federal charges, including both mail (the bogus collection notice) and wire (the phone conversations) fraud. In the case of my friend, it was bank fraud, and the technologies used to "swipe" his credit card information probably (my theory, only) involved what is called a "point-of-sale skimmer,"

Of course, we've all heard a lot about identity theft lately, especially because of those various commercials on the radio and TV advertising various identity theft security providers. And then, there are all those horrible cases of internet scams, "phishing" being just one kind.

There is no realistic way that I could list all of the possible ways that cyber-crime can happen. I even attempted to try to follow and report on the subject in a forum topic I set up back in 2003, and it was an overwhelming task. I called it, "On a Mission - The Forum." Here is the description for that topic:

This is where the johnny2k.com Cyber-Community can discuss network abuse, or what johnny2k calls "Global Cyber-Terrorism". Are hackers, spammers, and internet scammers committing acts of economic terrorism? Are the people working from home, that utilize the internet for their livelihood, victims of the assault on a vital component of our national and global infrastructure?
You will obviously observe that I saw the seriousness of cyber-crime a long time ago. But my "mission" didn't end when the forum activity dwindled down to nothing toward the end of 2007 (but it still gets many views despite the lack of recent posts!). Thankfully, I am here to tell you that there is an enormous amount of online information that you can use to help prevent you from being a cyber-crime victim. I have a page on my website where I list the links to many great resources to helping you learn about "cyber-terrorism."  (Please note: I haven't had a chance to update the page for awhile, so there will be several "dead links" there. However, the page will be included, and updated, in the planned renovation of johnny2k.com.)

Now, here's the point of what both Phil and I have told you. Phil emphasizes your need to not be intimidated into complacency. Your first mission is to take notice when something doesn't seem right. And what do you do when you do discover a potential threat to your financial well being? That is where my emphasis is, to help you know where to begin educating yourself enough to avoid the problem in the first place.

One of my techie heroes has always been Kim Komando, who says in a promo spot for her radio show, "Just remember, the Nigerians... they contacted ME first. The money's mine." And it is my hope that YOUR money will stay YOURS, and not go to a scammer somewhere in Africa.... or, worse, to a terrorist somewhere in the world.  I'm just sayin'...

We monitor our credit scores more closely than ever before. We are also more directly and immediately connected to those scores. This is a function of technology, of interconnectivity and usability of data. An update to your credit score is only a click away. We are all keenly aware of this, and thus the mere threat of a negative mark on our credit records is enough to scare us into paying bills we don't owe. What this amounts to is technological theft, not through direct hacking and transfers of funds, but through intimidation based on lies. A friend of mine experienced this recently and, using only his smartphone, fought back.

My friend has dentures. He received a set of these that were paid for, in part, by Allcare Dental and Dentures. Some time later, the company abruptly closed its doors. Patients who were scheduled for treatment – patients who, in some cases, had prepaid for products and services – were not notified in any way. They were simply cut off and, to my knowledge, no provision was made to refund their money, except through the usual lengthy and cumbersome legal procedures that occur when a company collapses financially. My friend found out about the cancellation of his insurance while reading the paper. A dental blog summed up the problem thusly:
The company's bare-bones alternate website says their doors are permanently closed. They said that they did not give patients any notice because both their computer network and phone system were abruptly shut down by the network provider.
Allcare shut down so abruptly that it seems inadequate provision was made for Allcare's patients, the transfer of those patients' health-care records, and continuity of patient and corporate financial records. Employees of the company were left with no recourse but to apologize in online discussion forums for what took place; they were left powerless.

Last week, my friend received a notice from a collections company, apparently misrepresenting itself as an arm of a major banking and credit card company. He was told he owed more than $900 for a bad debt relative to Allcare. When he investigated, he was told that his insurance claim was denied and therefore he owed the portion of the bill that his Allcare dental insurance was supposed to have paid.

My friend was certain he had paid the bill and that he had received no such notice from Allcare while the company was still a going concern. He spent the morning on the telephone, tracking down anyone he could find who could give him some insight into the issue. He also did a lot of Internet searching and, before he was done, he was filing a complaint with the state attorney general's office. Using his smartphone, the Internet and common sense, he was able to detect both warning flags of a scam and catch the scammers in their own lies.

North Korea Torpedo: SWAT Sent to Gulf Oil Rigs ...

Will covering this story make me a "Oil Rig Truther?" I think that a story that I just put up on this blog (US Orders Blackout Over North Korean Torpedoing Of Gulf Of Mexico Oil Rig, from the EU Times) MAY be bogus, but then let's see, is there any parallel to the "9/11 Truther" conspiracy theory? To some extent it is, but "plausibility" is the key word.

I did a google search on the story. No kidding, there were 189,000 results on the search. There is no shortage of people checking into it, blogging it, or spreading it. One of the blogs I found had the following youtube video:

Video provided by o0Levitikuz0o on April 30, 2010.

In the video, we find that the President actually does say, "Earlier today, DHS Secretary Napolitano announced that this incident is of national significance, and the Department of Interior has announced that they will be sending SWAT Teams to the Gulf to inspect all platforms and rigs."  No kidding, he really did say that at about :20 to :28 in the above video!  But, what he said right before that was that he'd use all available resources, including "potentially the Department of Defense to address the incident."  With that in mind, it makes the EU Times story just a little bit on the plausible side.  In fact, it makes it much more plausible than the evidence the 9/11 truthers provide that President Bush continued to read to the school kids in Florida after hearing the news of the WTC being attacked.  This time, it is in the President's own words! Think about that.

Now, let's look at several other factors to consider:
  • When Katrina blew through the Gulf of Mexico, were there any major leaks from oil platforms?
  • Why did the platform sink?  Yes, it was burning up, but I thought steel did not melt from a fuel fire, especially under water!
  • You don't really believe that somebody lit up a cigarette on the platform that started that fire.  No, really... Have you heard any one ever say what started the fire? We more or less only heard that the cause of the fire was still under investigation, right?
You must admit, those are really good points showing plausibility of the North Korean torpedo story.

Of course, in cases like this, there will be a multitude of conspiracy theories to explain the greatest environmental catastrophy of Biblical proportions. In other words, there could be something else rather than the EU Times story to explain the disaster. As o0Levitikuz0o that produced the video above mentions, The EU Times website is full of malware. I was wondering about that, as my computer quit responding constantly while trying to read the article and copy it over to my blog. (In fact, to see the story at EU Times, I advise you to either go to the public library and see it on one of their computers, or better yet, try it on your evil mother-in-law's PC!) But I digress. What I am saying is that the EU Times may have lost it's credibility completely for that reason, or.... the story was a plant to take our attention off what may have really happened. Let's explore a few of the many possibilities:

  • Environmental terrorists (tree huggers) did it in order to convince the public that off shore drilling is a bad idea for the environment. Case closed...
  • Al Gore had it done because he doesn't want that oil to be used to catastrophically heat the Earth.
  • Our own military did it by accident when a torpedo went awry during target practice, just like what happened to Flight 800 that was taken down off the coast of Long Island in 1996. That would be very Clinton-esque for the Obama administration to cover their... you know, hind ends.
  • Al Qaida did it, and the administration knows it, but doesn't want people to start blaming the Islamo-fascists for everything - like the downing of Flight 800 - again. The CIA planted the North Korean torpedo story at EU Times, of course. (Quick, somebody call Jack Cashill and alert him to this possibility!)
  • An oil rig worker was having a nicotine fit, and ignored the no smoking policy aboard the oil rig. BP and other oil rig operators will now need to do nicotine tests on any potential oil rig workers per new OSHA regulations.
Now, I know some of what I wrote on this was meant to be humorous. I apologize, being that this situation in the Gulf and potentially the entire East Coast is extremely serious. I think it was my satiric way of stating that stories like the North Korean torpedo/suicide attack will undoubtedly stir up all kinds of debate and probably continue on for a long time, just like Roswell (NM, 1947), the Kennedy assassination, or 9/11. And I am sure that guys like Alex Jones or Joseph Farah will find a way to cash in on inflaming the conspiracy world. (Note to Joseph Farah: I'm only kidding, that was a parody of what your detractors would say. You know I love ya, man!)  That was the parallel to 9/11 that I alluded to earlier.

Because the internet can be used by people that do not have good intentions, and that it can be so VERY difficult to actually verify just about any information, seriously, be alert and vigilant; don't believe everything you read on the World Wide Web. Just sayin'...

Obama's assassinations of Americans ~ By Nat Hentoff

Rather than going in and capturing high-value terrorists, we've been sending in pilotless drones and killing them. That's a good thing in the War on Terror, right? Save money on holding and trying them. Well, maybe not exactly. Nat Hentoff talks about the fact that some of the terrorist "hit" targets are American citizens.
Focusing on American targets, Ben Wizner, a staff attorney of the ACLU National Security Project, in a Feb. 4 press release emphasizes: "It is alarming to hear that the Obama administration is asserting that the president can authorize the assassination of Americans abroad, even if they are far from any battlefield and may have never taken up arms against the U.S., but have only been deemed to constitute an unspecified 'threat.'"

On Sept. 14 in Somalia, Saleh Ali Saleh Nabhan, a long-sought link between al-Qaida and its East African allies, was in a vehicle bombed by a helicopter flying from an American ship off the Somali coast. As Karen DeYoung and Joby Warrick reported in a front-page Washington Post story – "Under Obama, more targeted killings than captures in counterterrorism efforts" (Feb. 13) – another U.S. helicopter "set down long enough for troops to scoop up enough of (Nabhan's) remains for DNA verification."

That news story offered a telling consequence: "The opportunity to interrogate one of the most wanted U.S. terrorism targets was gone forever." And a senior military officer, careful not to give his name, lamented: "We wanted to take a prisoner. It was not a decision that we made."

That decision came from Obama, our commander in chief, who, as I've previously reported, has authorized in his first year more such assassinations than Bush and Cheney in their last years. The result, as the Washington Post noted, "has been dozens of targeted killings and no reports of high-value detentions."

After all, there can be no fierce arguments about whether a charred corpse should be tried in a federal civilian court or by a military commission. Some American citizens, believed to be highly connected to al-Qaida or its affiliates, are also on these "hit" lists. In Pakistan and Afghanistan, pilotless U.S. drone planes have perpetrated these assassinations.

These are highly classified operations, but thanks to the First Amendment, an increasing number of these summary executions have been revealed in the Washington Post and on the Internet. There have already been probing, through unanswered questions, from the ACLU, human-rights groups and other constitutionalists about this corollary damage to such an anchor of our rule of law as the separation of powers when the executive branch alone decides who shall die instantly rather than having been permitted time-consuming and costly due process of law. And there are no defense attorneys to raise objections, even when an American citizen is marked for oblivion.

Resistance to these terminal operations – which often inadvertently but effectively end the lives of innocent civilians – intensified in February when a high-ranking American official at last confirmed that targeted assassination is a legitimate American way of self-defense.

During a Feb. 3 hearing before the House Intelligence Committee, Director of National Intelligence Dennis Blair testified that the U.S. intelligence community, when dealing with direct terrorist threats to the United States, does "take direct action against terrorists" (Washington Post, Feb. 4).

And "if we think that direct action will involve killing an American, we get specific permission to do that." Blair – sensitive to the Obama administration's delicate use of language in these matters – did not use the word "assassinations," but the message was lethal enough.

How Many Lives Were Saved Today In The War Against Terror?

Julie FredricksonBy Julie Fredrickson

February 15, 2010

How Many Lives Were Saved Today In The War Against Terror?

Today was one of the slowest Presidents Days I can remember. In fact, I didn’t even see our President on TV today. That’s an exception not the rule. I’m used to seeing him on TV every day to speak about anything and everything. I guess they took the day off in DC. I didn’t see one commercial of George Washington in his white wig, or hear about cherry trees, hatchets or honest Abe. Has Presidents Day fallen to our new era of being politically correct?

When was the last time you saw a well known correspondent wearing camouflage gear, a Helmut and a flack jacket embedded with our troops on a mission? Who is covering our brave men and women as they leave their husbands, wives, parents, siblings and children to serve our country? Sadly, it seems we don’t hear a lot about our troops unless we are hearing reports on fatalities and injuries.

Is this news black out a result of the current administrations refusal to acknowledge it as a war? We hear it described as a conflict or a peacekeeping mission. Let’s call it like it is, a war with a group of enemy combatants that refuse to step into the light and face their enemies but rather hide behind innocent villagers and countrymen to plant roadside bombs and snipe from afar. Cave dwellers and ditch devils that prey on the weak, the elderly and small children to assist in their evil attacks.

Americans want to be kept informed of our success in Afghanistan. We want to hear that our troops are being fed, housed, protected, healed and trained away from home. We don’t need photo opportunities of the troops watching the Super Bowl. We want updates of them winning the war on terror and returning home safely. How about reporting how many lives were saved today instead of how many lives were lost?

Bosom bombers: Women have explosive breast implants

From WorldNetDaily
Authorities alarmed by possibility of surgically placed explosives

Posted: February 01, 2010 ~ 10:16 pm Eastern

© 2010 WorldNetDaily

Editor's Note: The following report is excerpted from Joseph Farah's G2 Bulletin, the premium online newsletter published by the founder of WND.

LONDON – Agents for Britain's MI5 intelligence service have discovered that Muslim doctors trained at some of Britain's leading teaching hospitals have returned to their own countries to fit surgical implants filled with explosives, according to a report from Joseph Farah's G2 Bulletin.

Women suicide bombers recruited by al-Qaida are known to have had the explosives inserted in their breasts under techniques similar to breast enhancing surgery. The lethal explosives – usually PETN (pentaerythritol Tetrabitrate) – are inserted during the operation inside the plastic shapes. The breast is then sewn up.

Similar surgery has been performed on male suicide bombers. In their cases, the explosives are inserted in the appendix area or in a buttock. Both are parts of the body that diabetics use to inject themselves with their prescribed drugs.

The discovery of these methods was made after the London-educated Nigerian Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab came close to blowing up an airliner on Christmas Day with explosives he had stuffed inside his underpants.

Forum 'chatter' hyping imminent attack on U.S.

From WorldNetDaily
E-mails have included photos of CIA headquarters

By Michael Carl

Terrorists actively are discussing another attack on the United States that could come within the next three to six months, and they even have included photographs of some government targets in their e-mails, including the Langley, Va., headquarters of the CIA.

The Middle East Media Research Institute confirms that the Al-Falluja jihadist forum has been discussing which American sites would make the best targets, referencing not only the CIA headquarters building but also the White House.

The top blogger has been urging attacks on the U.S. in an attempt to force American troops out of Iraq sooner than planned.

Likewise, the National Terror Alert Center is reporting al-Qaida is planning another attack within that time frame.

"There is no reason that the threats shouldn't be taken seriously," said a terrorism expert, who spoke with WND on condition of anonymity.

Also, Steven Emerson, a counter-terrorism expert and founder of the Investigative Project of Terrorism, said the nation should be taking such "chatter" – comments on blogs and in e-mail – seriously.

"Certainly these threats should be taken seriously. One jihadist blogger will talk about making an attack and other jihadists will read the blog post and be encouraged to plan ... an attack. The blogs will encourage other jihadists," Emerson said.

Al-Qaida wins again ~ By Dr. Samuel L. Blumenfeld

Commentary from WorldNetDaily
Dr. Samuel L. Blumenfeld By Dr. Samuel L. Blumenfeld Posted: January 15, 2010 ~ 1:00 am Eastern © 2010 On Christmas Day, 2009, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab gave Osama bin Laden a great holiday gift. And he didn't even have to blow up the plane to do it. All he had to do was be caught with bomb materials in his underwear to force Barack Obama and Janet Napolitano to recommend new draconian and expensive body-search methods in international airports around the world. Already the Dutch authorities have announced that Schipol Airport will begin using full-body scanners on passengers flying to the U.S. The decision was made after discussions with Janet Napolitano. But passengers objecting to a body scan can be patted down. Philip Baum, editor of Aviation Security International, said scanners will still not catch material carried internally, a common smuggling method for drug traffickers.

"Once again, we're looking for a quick-fix piece of technology when we ought be using the best piece of technology there is – the human brain," he said. "We ought to be profiling people." Of course, al-Qaida will begin devising explosives that can be inserted in a terrorist's rectum. Will that require perfectly normal passengers to undergo rectum searches in the future? The jihadists are quite clever. They are capable of devising all sorts of ways of killing the infidels. Their triumphant 9/11 attack required recruiting 20 terrorists to take flying lessons, hijack four airliners and crash them into predetermined targets – all undetected by the U.S. government. Meanwhile, the government's ultimate goal is to make body scanning one of the routine ways of screening passengers. And so, anybody embarking on an international flight will be subjected to a body scan before being able to board a plane. READ FULL STORY >

'Notional' security ~ By Thomas Sowell

Commentary from WorldNetDaily
"There is no stronger indication of danger than officials who don't want to hear what anybody else has to say, even when those who offer to help have a system that works better than ours."
Thomas Sowell By Thomas Sowell Posted: January 12, 2010 ~ 1:00 am Eastern © 2010 The latest "screw-up" that let a man with explosives get on a plan on Christmas Day is only part of a larger laxness and irresponsibility when it comes to national security. This administration pays lip service to national security and gives out with a lot of rhetorical notions that makes it notional security instead of national security. The Muslim major who was arrested for the murders of American soldiers at Fort Hood had left so many clues to his hatred of this country that all you had to do was count the dots, without even connecting them, to see where he was coming from. But for a fellow officer to alert higher authorities to the danger would have meant risking damage to his own career more so than to that of Maj. Nidal Hasan. That is because we have become so obsessed with political correctness that both common sense and self-preservation have to take a back seat. We don't dare "profile" anybody going through security checks because that's not politically correct. Far better to be blown to smithereens than to be politically incorrect. Probably the country with the strongest security checks for airline passengers – and the strongest reason for such checks – is Israel. Israel profiles. I have been to Israel more than once and it is clear that they profile. READ FULL STORY >

Terrorism and health care: Connecting the dots ~ By Star Parker

Commentary from WorldNetDaily
Star Parker By Star Parker Posted: January 09, 2010 ~ 1:00 am Eastern © 2010 As President Obama announced his analysis of how the Christmas Day near miss terrorist attack occurred, Democratic Senate and House leaders conferred in secret to produce a health-care reform bill. Despite extensive information on the would-be terrorist, each piece of which was incriminating on its own, the man evaded a vast government bureaucracy and almost blew up a plane filled with Americans. Yet, Democrats, with the health-care bill they are now piecing together behind closed doors, will bring all American lives and health care under the purview and control of government bureaucracy. Talk about an inability to connect the dots. The initial assessments of the terrorist incident that both the president and Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano shared with the nation were wrong. The president called the man an "isolated extremist." Napolitano said the "system worked" and expressed doubt that the man had al-Qaida connections. But the president and Napolitano did get something right. They identified what did work. What saved the lives of innocent Americans were private citizens, using their own brains and initiative, who acted to bring this terrorist down. The president said that this near disaster was "not the fault of a single individual or organization, but rather a systematic failure across organizations and agencies." So no heads will roll. CIA bomber wanted body used as 'fertilizer' for jihadists

Proof we are still in a war, from WorldNetDaily
'Oh God, I beseech Thee that I would massacre Your enemies' By Bob Unruh Posted: January 08, 2010 ~ 1:00 am Eastern © 2010 WorldNetDaily A jihadi website posted a posthumous statement from the attacker who blew up himself and seven CIA employees in Afghanistan in which the man frets about not being a "martyr" and having to face judgment for his sins. "I'm afraid of shameful exposure in the courts of the day of resurrection if I'm not killed by the weapon of my enemy. I'm afraid to be branded as a liar, and that my words will be the evidence for my conviction. Whenever I hear of someone who died I die, and with every illness about which I hear – I become ill," said the statement from Abu Dajana Al-Khorasani. The statement was captured from the jihadi forum site by the Middle East Media Research Institute, which has included it in a report on its subscription Jihad & Terrorism Threat Monitor report. The article, "When Will My Words Drink My Blood? – I Am Now Fit For Publication," apparently was written shortly before the bomber took on his suicide mission. It is attributed to Al-Khorasani, a pen name used by Hammam Khalil al-Balawi to post jihad writings. READ FULL STORY >

A hint from the world's most secure airline ~ By Frankllin Raff

Commentary from WorldNetDaily Following the excerpt from this column, you will see a youtube video that I had put up the day after the Flight 253 Christmas day terrorist incident, which illustrates what Franklin Raff writes about today.
By Frankllin Raff Posted: January 04, 2010 ~ 1:00 am Eastern © 2010 We have once again been subjected to a mess of bombast in the downstream media, this time on the topic of the narrowly averted terror attack of underwear bomber Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, evidently not another Swedish Lutheran jihadist. Talking heads deftly posit, keenly elucidate, cleverly analyze and deconstruct the nuances and counter-nuances of airplane security. "When is profiling profiling? Does it work? Should it? Why doesn't it? And what does it really mean?" As we nervously shuffle through the airport lines, waiting for the next attack, we now learn that the touted "full body scanners" are essentially taking nudie pics. Not very artful ones, by the way, and in detail so rich I am surprised the consumer market for portable models hasn't already flourished. Naturally, you are not allowed to review the pictures of your naked body. They are to be seen only by the strange man in the corner. Perhaps you thought it was humiliating enough to take off your shoes and submit to a frisking. To be sure, those "scanning" jobs will become very attractive to persons with certain unsavory proclivities. Maybe that is one of those subjects best left un-discussed, like the enduring problem a certain high-line national department store has in keeping foot-fetishists from taking jobs in the ladies shoe section. Facts are facts, however. And all of them, which is to say the creepy naked pictures, the whole die, die, infidel pigs! thing, and the fact the TSA might at any time once again release its entire security procedures manual to the world over the Internet, makes for very good news for the videoconferencing industry, and very bad news for us. We would like to keep flying, however, and will probably submit to all sorts of humiliations to the point of full body cavity searches, which is the next logical step on our "reactive" approach to security. At the same time, we must heed the words of master negotiator Herb Cohen: A tactic perceived is no tactic. "Blanket" approaches, such as raw profiling, can allow our enemies a clear playbook for defeating security measures. Recall if you will that the "shoe bomber" and "underwear bomber" were Anglo-Saxon-Jamaican and Nigerian, respectively. So until DHS implements a "do fly" list, comprised of docile (if impatient) law-abiding patriots of all faiths, we should look to an existing, tested, supremely effective security model capable of securing our skies and cities, and giving us some degree of personal comfort. We should emulate El Al, the national airline of Israel. READ FULL STORY >

Replace Janet Napolitano ~ By Star Parker

Commentary from WorldNetDaily
Star Parker By Star Parker Posted: January 02, 2010 ~ 1:00 am Eastern © 2010 Last March, our newly installed homeland security secretary, Janet Napolitano, explained, in an interview with German magazine Der Spiegel, her vision for fighting what was formerly known as terrorism. By calling these now "man-caused disasters," she explained, we'd "move away from the politics of fear toward a policy of being prepared for all risks that can occur." "Our policies will be guided by authoritative information. We also have assets at our disposal now that we did not have prior to 9/11. For example, we are much better able to keep track of travelers coming into the U.S. than we were before. The third thing is to work with our international partners and allies to make sure that we are getting information and sharing information in an appropriate and real-time fashion." Yikes. Putting Ms. Napolitano in charge of a department of 200,000 people and a $50 billion budget with a stated mission to "lead the unified national effort to secure the country and preserve our freedoms" was a "man caused disaster." And it is one that President Obama should fix – pronto. His No. 1 priority to restore credibility in his administration's ability to protect Americans from terrorism should be replacement of Napolitano. Her blundering performance on Sunday talk shows following the failed Christmas Day terrorist attempt to blow up an American plane showed clearly that this isn't the person we want responsible for the security of our homeland. It's much more than her incredible observation that "the system worked." Napolitano told CNN's Candy Crowley, "The traveling public is very, very safe in this air environment." This despite answering every one of Crowley's probing questions with "I don't know." Are there al-Qaida ties? How could he have gotten past security and on the plane carrying an explosive? How could he fly to the U.S. when his own father – a wealthy banker – briefed our embassy officials about what he saw his son up to? READ FULL STORY >

Eyewitnesses: 2 arrested in Christmas flight terror

From WorldNetDaily
'How stupid do you think the American public is?' By Chelsea Schilling Posted: December 31, 2009 ~ 11:20 pm Eastern © 2010 WorldNetDaily Several passengers aboard the Christmas Day flight to Detroit where a Nigerian man attempted to blow up the airplane say a second passenger was arrested after the foiled terrorist attack – and they suggested other men may have played roles as well. Kurt Haskell of Newport, Mich., and his wife, Lori, claim they were aboard Flight 253 as they returned from a safari in Uganda, seated only a few rows behind suspected attacker Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, a man who admitted to affiliation with the terrorist group al-Qaida. Haskell presented a boarding pass to Michigan Live to show that he had been a passenger on the plane. Kurt and Lori Haskell, both U.S. attorneys with Haskell Law Firm in Taylor, Mich., told the newspaper that prior to the flight they were seated on the floor near the boarding gate in Amsterdam when Abdulmutallab approached the gate with another "Indian man" who was dressed in an expensive suit. Kurt Haskell told Michigan Live the unidentified man in the suit approached ticket agents and asked them if Abdulmutallab could board without a passport, and he tried to convince them Abdulmutallab was a Sudanese refugee. "The guy said, 'He's from Sudan and we do this all the time,'" Haskell told the newspaper. But Dutch security officials claim Abdulmutallab was carrying a valid Nigerian passport and U.S. visa, according to CBS News. Charlie Keepman of Oconomowoc, Wis., told the Detroit News that his daughter, Ricki, saw yet another man videotaping the flight from Amsterdam to Detroit, including the episode when Abdulmutallab purportedly attempted to set off explosive chemicals in his underwear. Following the foiled terrorist attack, Haskell said passengers were corralled into a small, evacuated luggage claim area of an airport terminal. Then, he says, bomb-sniffing dogs were brought in. "During this time period, all of the passengers had their carry-on bags with them," he wrote in a posting on MLive.com. "When the bomb sniffing dogs arrived, one dog found something in a carry-on bag of a 30-ish Indian man." Haskell explained that the second "Indian" man was not the same well-dressed person who assisted Abdulmutallab in boarding the flight. He said this man wore orange clothing. "The man in orange, who stood some 20ft away from me the entire time until he was taken away, was immediately taken away to be searched and interrogated in a nearby room," Haskell explained. "At this time, he was not handcuffed. When he emerged from the room, he was then handcuffed and taken away." Immediately after the questioning, Haskell said an FBI agent approached the remaining passengers and, referring to the man in orange, said, "You all are being moved to another area because this area is not safe. I am sure many of you saw what just happened and are smart enough to read between the lines and figure it out." READ FULL STORY >

Do you feel safe now? ~ By Joseph Farah

Commentary from WorldNetDaily
Excerpt: "And to every American reading this column, know that your personal security is up to you. The government is not watching out for you." Joseph Farah By Joseph Farah Posted: December 28, 2009 ~ 1:00 am Eastern © 2009 If you have traveled by airline lately – domestically or internationally – you know the meaning of the word "hassle." Ordinary people who pose no possible threat to life and limb are forced to take off their shoes, their belts, walk through metal detectors, get their bags X-rayed and stand on long security lines. Meanwhile, as we saw last weekend, a man with "significant terrorist connections" boards a plan in Nigeria with the components of a bomb and nearly succeeds in detonating it as it approached Detroit. In other words, all the best efforts of government's politically correct, non-profiling of airline passengers proves worthless once again. In fact, if it hadn't been for the alert passengers on Flight 253, all 278 of them might have perished in the latest act of Islamic terrorism. Passengers, not crew members, jumped over one another to subdue the fiend. There was not a TSA agent or a sky marshal in sight. The government's response to the latest incident is to increase its meaningless security charade in which all passengers – elderly grandmas and newborns – are scrutinized with the same level of enthusiasm as those with "significant terrorism connections." Maybe you're asking yourself why someone with "significant terrorism connections" is permitted on a commercial airliner headed for the U.S. What is the purpose of the "no-fly list" if not to keep those with "significant terrorism connections" from getting on board? Don't expect to get an answer to that question. Just expect your own personal airline hassles to increase. READ FULL STORY >

Daniel Pearl's Father Speaks Out On The WAR ON TERROR (Video)

Video provided by AlreadyKnownAsX2 February 07, 2009 - Daniel Pearl's Father Speaks Out On The WAR ON TERROR From the video description provided by AlreadyKnownAsX2:
The 'white' house is reluctant to use the term WAR ON TERROR, legitimizing islamic terror is one of the many ways liberals are trying to destroy our great country. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB123362422088941893.html
"No. Those around the world who mourned for Danny in 2002 genuinely hoped that Danny's murder would be a turning point in the history of man's inhumanity to man, and that the targeting of innocents to transmit political messages would quickly become, like slavery and human sacrifice, an embarrassing relic of a bygone era. But somehow, barbarism, often cloaked in the language of "resistance," has gained acceptance in the most elite circles of our society. The words "war on terror" cannot be uttered today without fear of offense. Civilized society, so it seems, is so numbed by violence that it has lost its gift to be disgusted by evil." "This mentality of surrender then worked its way through politicians like the former mayor of London, Ken Livingstone. In July 2005 he told Sky News that suicide bombing is almost man's second nature. "In an unfair balance, that's what people use," explained Mr. Livingstone. But the clearest endorsement of terror as a legitimate instrument of political bargaining came from former President Jimmy Carter. In his book "Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid," Mr. Carter appeals to the sponsors of suicide bombing. "It is imperative that the general Arab community and all significant Palestinian groups make it clear that they will end the suicide bombings and other acts of terrorism when international laws and the ultimate goals of the Road-map for Peace are accepted by Israel." Acts of terror, according to Mr. Carter, are no longer taboo, but effective tools for terrorists to address perceived injustices. Mr. Carter's logic has become the dominant paradigm in rationalizing terror. When asked what Israel should do to stop Hamas's rockets aimed at innocent civilians, the Syrian first lady, Asma Al-Assad, did not hesitate for a moment in her response: "They should end the occupation." In other words, terror must earn a dividend before it is stopped."
obama sucking up to islamic terrorists: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090131/ap_on_go_pr_wh/war_on_terror
"Obama has made it clear in his first days in office that he is courting the Muslim community and making what is at least a symbolic shift away from the previous administration's often more combative tone. He chose an Arab network for his first televised interview, declaring that "Americans are not your enemy." Before his first full week in office ended, he named former Sen. George J. Mitchell as his special envoy for the Middle East and sent him to the region for talks with leaders. According to the White House, Obama is intent on repairing America's image in the eyes of the Islamic world and addressing issues such as the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, unrest in Pakistan and India, Arab-Israeli peace talks and tensions with Iran."
