We Need an Immediate Exit Strategy ~ Ep. 1217 ~ The Dan Bongino Show®

From the Bongino Show's description of this episode on youtube.com/Bongino or in his show notes:
In this episode, I address the brewing plot by Nancy Pelosi to attack the Trump administration in the middle of a crisis. I also address the exit strategy from this economic shutdown that must be implemented immediately. Finally, I address the latest Moscow Maddow meltdown.
I don't know quite how Dan Bongino does it.  He can pack so much information into one show, it's like he's super-human (that could explain it!).  The incredible amount of work that must take is mind boggling to me.  All of the research it takes, and following media, and seeing what various politicians or media people are doing, it is beyond my explanation.  And that is my point.  It is why I present The Dan Bongino Show on this blog.  It is because many accolades are well deserved.  And keep in mind, he is always working on his books while doing this show.  It's amazing.  Okay, well, enough of my boot-licking, but I really couldn't help myself.

So, in this episode, one of the major subjects that I've had on my mind, is, how are we going to get out of this mess?  I trust the President's judgment on how and when we'll get back on track.  No, if I was listening to Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, and their Media shills (their allies, like Roswell Rachel), I would be having a panic attack, and start believing their claims that the end is near.  But, I instead feel very good about the Trump administration's handling of the Coronavirus pandemic.  And Dan Bongino lays out an excellent strategy for how we get out of this funk.

I highly recommend checking out the News Picks for this episode, that can be found here.

Gutfeld on the media and Democrats on the coronavirus ~ Fox News Video

"Never let a crisis go to waste," said Rahm Emanuel. The Demonicrats are taking every possible advantage of that advice, as we see now. Economic crisis and the stock market crash. Coronavirus outbreak crisis. There is no doubt that Greg Gutfeld, on The Five, nails it: "If the media and Democrats hate the current president, then crisis is their tool."

What turned my head today was not the stock market crash, as horrible as that was. No, what I saw that was truly disturbing, were the calls, from the Demonicrats and the left-leaning liberal "mediacrocy" of course, for the President to suspend the MAGA rallies to help stop the outbreak. Okay, that's fine. Then let's cancel the Demonicrat convention in Milwaukee, too! Hey, then, let's suspend the whole election! Maybe that would be the way for the President to flip the whole thing on the Demonicrats and liberal media! That, I believe, would be not letting a crisis go to waste... in their words, not ours.

Stepping on the gas stimulus ~ By Terry Keenan

Yes, Americans are happy gas prices are down, but that’s not enough to counter the malaise they are feeling in other parts of their wallets. It is also a bad forward indicator of economic strength in 2015.

May 16, 1961 – October 23, 2014
Sadly, I would not have known about this column by Terry Keenan had she not suddenly passed away last week. At the very young age of 53, Terry is tragically gone. It was very sudden, a cerebral hemorrhage. I learned about it on theblaze.com. Because their story lacked information I wanted to know, I had to dig a little further into Terry's life, especially her editorial columnist work in the New York Post. That is how I found out about this editorial column that she wrote a week ago. As it turns out, this would be Terry's last column.

But there is something that was just a bit surreal for me regarding this column. The night before I found this column, I had been at a social gathering. Somebody said that it was just another political trick to lower gas prices right before this election. That was when I replied, "No, you better worry about a sharp decline in oil prices, because that is only going to happen when the demand for energy declines. And why would that happen? Think about it; the global economy is going into a slump." The people that I told that to, being mostly conservatives like me, nodded their heads in solemn agreement.

As Terry wrote, "It is also a bad forward indicator of economic strength in 2015." So, before reading this column by Terry, I was already on the same page. I know that it would seem that lower fuel costs will give Americans more available finances, but it may not work out that way. With lower energy prices, won't that also mean that the newly revived energy industry in America will also see lower revenues from their products?

And now for a reminder from Niel Cavuto just what Terry meant to us viewers.

RIP, Terry.  Just sayin'...

Stepping on the gas stimulus

From nypost.com

Put this in the category of “be careful what you wish for” — certainly on this, the 27th anniversary of the 1987 stock market crash.

Oil, and with it, the price of gasoline, has plummeted about 10 percent over the past 10 days. According to AAA, the average price of a gallon of gas is hovering just above $3.15 a gallon, with prices below $3 in many parts of the nation.

Here in New York City, prices are at levels not seen since 2011.

All this, as much of the Middle East is literally in flames.

Citigroup put out a report on Friday that estimates the drop in gas prices to multiyear lows will add $1.1 trillion to the US economy — a “stimulus package” on steroids that would best the TARP bailout of October 2008.

Obviously, the drop in gas prices is great for drivers and typically a boon for the US retail economy. The less money you spend on gas, the more you can spend on other items.

But not so fast.

Keep your lamps lit ~ By Patrice Lewis

Patrice is consistently straightforward. This column is no exception.

Once again, Harold Camping, now retired, came up with another false prophecy about the end of the world right after the previous one on May 21, 2011 that obviously didn't happen on October 21, 2011 as he fortold. That is obviously a good thing. I'm not ready for the end of the world. There are lives I can still touch.

Being a "prepper"? Having everything that I would need to survive should the global economy "go to hell in a hand-basket," or should there be a great war in the Middle East? The fact is, there could be all kinds of disasters that could happen, and there is no way I can be prepared for a very long time. I'd be toast.

But, if there is nothing else that I can do, I am assured of being spiritually prepared. Because of my lack of income that would be required for a long-term - or actually, anything over a week or two - survival plan, I guess there isn't any other choice. Spiritual preparation is my only option.

This is why I think Patrice Lewis was being very straightforward about the topic of preparation in this piece. I doubt it will matter if people have a few guns, a lot of ammunition, a storage of food for a year.... It may not matter. The fact is, spiritual preparation will need to be the main objective for many of us.

Our days may be numbered, but we do not know when, not even if you can predict the collapse of the global economy within a few days. However, there are things you can do to keep your lamp lit.

If you don't mind, I'll do what I can to help you understand that you can "survive" whatever comes at us, from at least the spiritual aspect. You can be good to people. You can spread the message of the Gospel, the story of God's LOVE for us. Believe me, people need to hear it. People need to have plenty of the lamp oil on hand. The good news is that you can give away that lamp oil for free.

You can thank Patrice Lewis for inspiring me just a little more today.

Keep your lamps lit!

Well, another miscalculated Day of Judgment has come and gone, and another false prophet who tried to predict Judgment Day is left with egg on his face. I'll never know why people feel the need to try and outsmart God in predicting the end of the world in direct opposition to Scripture, but there you are. I guess if Jesus had to warn us about such things 2,000 years ago, there was a strong tendency even back then to add up the number of "T's" in the book of Isaiah, divide by the amount of time it takes to hop around Jerusalem on one foot and multiply by the number of Tuesdays in the year 2012 (along with other numerical hocus-pocus) and conclude the world will end on May 21 or whatever.

Keeping the Lamp Lit
So what are we explicitly instructed to do, according to Scripture? Keep watch. Be prepared. Be ready. Always keep sufficient lamp oil on hand because you never know when the bridegroom will come.

So smart people keep their spiritual oil plentiful at all times.

Then there are the people who like to keep their physical lamp oil on hand as well. That would be the wacky subculture known as Preppers. After all, since we never know when the financial day of judgment is going to happen, we Preppers like to be ready.

The urge to be prepared has recently sharpened for millions of people as we've watched not only our own country's problems increase, but the problems of the rest of the world as well. America is toppling under debt. North Africa is in shambles and moving ever closer to Shariah law. Europe is about to implode financially and drag who-knows-what down with it. China is not the bastion of financial stability it would like us to believe.

In other words, the economic bottom could fall out from under us at any moment. When that happens, non-Preppers would be as foolish as the virgins who forgot to stock lamp oil, because lamp oil will shoot through the roof in terms of price and scarcity.

We cannot predict the Day of Judgment, so it's best to be constantly prepared for it. Nor can we predict the economic collapse of our nation … but it's no longer a matter of IF, it's a matter of WHEN. So wise people keep their pantries stocked.

Why Obama won't seek 2nd term ~ By Joseph Farah

I think ultimately he's going to find a reason not to run.

If I smell blood in the water, I wonder why no Democrats do.

Let's face it – 2012 is shaping up to be a Republican sweep that will make 2010 look like a warm-up act.

Would you want to lead your party into that? Or would you be inclined to step aside gracefully and let someone else take a stab at salvaging the White House and maybe the Senate?
Could Joseph Farah be right? Will Barack Obama decide not to run for a second term? I gave his column some long thought. However, it turns out that it isn't really a matter of whether or not I agree with Joseph's premise that Obama won't run for the second term. I think that Joseph could be correct, but not necessarily for the reasons he provides in his column.

There could be a few plausible reasons why Obama won't run for a second term. Joseph Farah discusses several of those, such as family issues, the bad economy, and the fact that he will probably lose his re-election bid along with Democrat control of the U.S. Senate.

Of course, some of the other reasons I have thought of may sound more like conspiracy theories. But, hey, let's just throw it out there to see if any of it sticks! So, let's take a look at other possible scenarios, shall we?

There is no reason to run for re-election, is there? Has not Barack Obama accomplished everything that he set out to do? In just two years, Obama has destroyed our economy and incentivized an entitlement mentality. The flaws of Obama's socialistic ideology have now been institutionalized, with Obamacare being his trophy legislation.

And in the mean time, Obama has set a booby-trap for the Republican President that will take the oath in 2013. Once the Conservative Republican President takes office, and begins to dismantle "social programs," he or she will be vilified and demonized by the left. The Democrats may be figuring that will get them back in power, and hold it for another century. It worked in the 20th...

Is it just me? Would it be terrible of me to mention that there could be another reason why Obama won't seek that 2nd term? Could his sights actually be set higher? Being the head of the new world order would probably work for him. I'm just sayin'...

I know this sounds crazy.

I know it goes completely against the grain of mainstream political opinion.

I know you probably haven't heard this anywhere else before.

But I don't think Barack Obama will be on the Democratic ballot as a candidate for re-election to the presidency.

And I know he's not going to win a second term.

Just look at the way he is already second-guessing his announcement to run again.

In an interview that aired on the "Today" show earlier this week, he said this: "There are days where I say that one term is enough."

Aside from the typically lousy syntax – "days where" – why would a sitting president who has already announced his determination to seek re-election be musing about not running?

I think he is reconsidering.

I think he knows he has no chance to win because of what he has done to the economy.

I think deep down in his heart he knows he has no record on which to run again.

It's not a conspiracy – it's right out in the open ~ By Patrice Lewis

The first line of my Twitter bio states, "Obama's destruction of Americanism is INTENTIONAL!" Despite this great column by Patrice Lewis, I still believe that statement to be true.

So, here I go again. I'm on a roll this morning. Out of three columns I've blogged about so far this morning, including this one, I've had some disagreement with all of them! First, there was Barry Farber's column, "The American freedom gene." I vociferously disagreed with Barry about complacency being neutralized by the American freedom gene.

And then there was Henry Lamb's column, "How do you spell incompetence?" I wish now that in the intro prologue I wrote that I had mentioned the fact that I truly believe that Obama wasn't suffering from incompetence. Well, not directly. Shivers may run down your spine, but I think that there is something much more sinister than out-and-out incompetence on Obama's part. So, I guess that is where Patrice and I may have somewhat of a disagreement with her column.

Not that I'm saying that Obama had the Deep Horizon oil rig blown up, or anything... But I do believe that the lack of competence in getting the leak stopped may be a little deeper, and I guess it falls into the category of "conspiracy theories" as Patrice explains it here. But I do agree with her in the way that the things Obama is doing IS out in the open. There is no doubt that Glenn Beck has been pointing that out in detail lately. The ongoing drama of the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, the incompetence in getting it stopped, and followed by Obama's 6 month moratorium on drilling anywhere off-shore may be coupled with the Petrobar connection with George Soros along with a $2 Billion investment from the U.S. Treasury. (I will soon be uploading a video at TheREALjohnny2k channel regarding that connection from a Crime Inc segment on the Glenn Beck Show).

Yes, my dear Patrice, all that you said was correct in the fact that it is all out in the open. But I do disagree as to the reason it's all in the open. I truly believe that it's all about the motive for what is happening in this country regarding the oil spill, the massive debt being created, or the lack of border security leading to the Arizona SB 1070 law going into affect this week. And I began writing about this several years ago in a series called "Setting the Stage." (You can begin reading that now at johnny2k Is Home.)

The problem with conspiracy theories, as I believe Patrice points out, is that in many cases they are to the point of fear mongering. The problem with pointing out incompetence, or even rightly pointing out those things that are right out in the open, is that some (mostly the MSM and Democrats) will still call it fear mongering. But it isn't fear mongering.  It's called putting all the pieces of the puzzle together: President Obama is going to trash our sovereignty and lead us into the New World Order, a One World Government. Maybe it IS a conspiracy, even if it IS right out in the open. There, I said it. Just sayin'....!

When we are successful, and we will be: Welcome to the New World Order

Video provided by TheREALjohnny2k
Since the dawn of civilization, nations have been born, grown too large and arrogant, and died. There was no conspiracy. It's unfortunately quite normal. Our Founding Fathers knew this very well, and that's why they built in the checks and balances they did. Unsurprisingly, politicians have done their best to erode and bypass and ignore those checks and balances ever since. There's no conspiracy. It's predictable. It's right out in the open.

But here's the thing: In the end, it doesn't matter if our current events are part of a grand and secret conspiracy or not. It doesn't matter if it's pre-planned or just a natural chain of events. It doesn't matter if the Bilderberg Group is in cahoots with Obama to bring about a one-world government, or if it's just a series of greedy politicians and bankers messing us up. It's immaterial.

The important thing is, we still have to fight it.

As you can imagine, as a WND columnist I get e-mails from all kinds of people, including those vocal individuals or groups who have their own personal theories about where we're heading. Martial law, one-world government, TEOTWAWKI (The End Of The World As We Know It) … you name it, I've heard it. Collectively these are known as conspiracy theories.

What is a conspiracy theory? The dictionary defines it as "A theory seeking to explain a disputed case or matter as a plot by a secret group or alliance rather than an individual or isolated act."

Most conspiracy theories spring from a deep distrust of government and, by extension, of the official explanations offered by the government of historical events. "Usually, government is the entity engaging in the conspiracy and the ensuing cover-up, and the individuals who proffer these theories tend to be anti-government, at least to some degree," notes SkepticWiki. Conspiracy theories span decades and even centuries. The 9/11 terrorist attacks, chemtrails, Roswell, the assassination of Kennedy, Hitler's suicide, the assassination of Lincoln, all the way back to the existence of Christ … all have had conspiracy theories surrounding them.

And, as with proving a negative, conspiracy theories can be very hard to disprove.

So when I hear the latest conspiracy theories surrounding recent news events (the BP oil spill, Arizona immigration reform), I'm inclined to dismiss them as yet more rantings from obsessed people with an ax to grind, who claim to have inside knowledge of yet another grand plan to round us all up into concentration camps and gas us.

These obsessed individuals take a sequence of events and embroider it with "if this is true, then therefore this will happen" scenarios that fit with their personal fixation. They only hear the evidence they want to hear, then lavishly embellish it with their own interpretation and just a tinge of hope that what they believe will actually come to pass (so they can say "I told you so").

Conspiracy theories arise when people feel helpless against the destructive tide of events that shape our world. Conspiracies don't arise around joyous events, only malevolent. Theorists believe there must be a reason something happened; it can't have a meaningless, random, accidental or natural cause.

When you think about it, conspiracy theories are easy to understand. They are an attempt by the powerless to make sense out of senseless things, usually by blaming the powerful and elite.

So far there's only one conspiracy theory to which I'm willing to lend an ear. Or, to put it another way, only one theory fits nicely into my pre-existing suspicions. And that is the theory that our country is on the path to destruction.

Why else would the government continue to spend billions – trillions – of stimulus dollars it doesn't have despite evidence that stimulus programs don't work? Why else would it take over the health-care system (against the will of the people) in an attempt to "improve" it despite evidence from other countries that socialized medicine results in rationed services and skyrocketing costs? Why else is cap-and-trade being pushed in the wake of the BP oil disaster, despite projections that show it will raise our taxes catastrophically and bankrupt our already depressed nation?

Yet even this theory fails to stand up under scrutiny. The people planning or implementing these things are not thinking about the destruction of our country per se. Nobody is a villain in their own eyes. They're all doing what they think is right and correct within the bounds of their own vision.

In other words, the "conspiracy" to destroy our country is actually nothing more than the natural tendency for government to grow bigger and more powerful.

Everyone wants more. More funding, a more important title, more staff working under them. Nobody goes into the office in the morning and asks himself, "Gee, I wonder how I can reduce my funding, cut my staff and have a less prestigious job title?" But unlike the private sector (where you get bigger and more powerful by working harder and providing products or services that people want), government bureaucrats achieve their goals by creating more rules and regulations and taxes to get more funding, more staff and more prestige.

I do not believe there are a bunch of guys in black robes sitting around secretly planning on how to enslave us under a one-world government. The bigger and grander and more long-lasting a conspiracy, the less likely it will succeed because people can't keep secrets. Someone will blab.

Don't come knocking on my door ~ By Patrice Lewis

I usually do this little intro blurb after I've formatted the page and everything else involved. That's right, I save the best part for last (wink). But, it can also be the hardest part of the work I do in updating this blog. And sometimes, it is Patrice Lewis' columns that are the most difficult to write an intro for. Why? Because they are written so well, and I have to ask myself how anything I write here could ever compare. I really want people - as many as possible - to read what Patrice has to say. I don't want to bore anyone before they get to the column to read it for themselves.

Today is especially that case, because I am hoping there will be many "Grasshoppers" that will read this today, and in the hope they become "Ants." (You'll understand what I'm saying after you read her column). Like Patrice says:

... yet we have thoughtless and unprepared friends, relatives and strangers – most of whom are better off financially than we are – who are doing nothing. But they will blithely come knocking at our door when times get tough and expect us to cheerfully and freely share everything. The reality is, we cannot feed them all.
I can easily conclude this intro now, with my usual:  Just sayin'...

Please, folks, become Ants. If you insist on remaining a Grasshopper, don't come a-knocking at our door. We may not answer, because so many have already been let in ahead of you.

On Thursday I made a severe error in judgment. I logged onto the Drudge Report, where these headlines jumped out at me:
These headlines got me worried because they coincide with a couple of entries I recently posted on my blog: "Predictions for the rest of 2010," and "More cheery news." I'll pause while you go read those items.

...

Now that you're back, can you understand why I find myself nervous about the future?

When I'm nervous, I tend to can food. In the last two days I've canned 33 pints of mixed vegetables and 14 quarts of chicken breasts.

Because, you see, I expect the bleep to hit the fan within a year, possibly less. Mother hen that I am, I want to gather my chicks close and protect them. The frustrating thing is, those of us with concerns about the economy can't help but wonder how much of it is orchestrated. Whatever the cause, things appear to be spiraling out of control. So I'm doing the only thing I can do, and that's to prepare for hard times.

Of course, most people aren't preparing. History is full of people who ignored warning signs and put their heads in the sand (and their rumps in the air). These are the folks who derive great amusement at us who prepare, smugly calling us conspiracy nuts or lunatics. Then they'll calmly inform us of their contingency plans: "Well, we'll just come live with you if things get tough."

These are the Grasshoppers of society, and I've written about them before. These are the people who still have their jobs and homes, but seem incapable or unwilling to look beyond the shallow concerns of everyday life to read the headlines or see the storm clouds gathering on the horizon.

This attitude makes Ants very, very nervous.

One woman posted on my blog: "I live on 1 acre in town, and we have 48 relatives within walking distance of our house. If only four people show up to be fed and cared for, my six-month supply is cut in half to three months. The more people who show up for help … well, just do the division! I'm trying to build my stock and some nights I don't sleep well just thinking about how quickly it could be depleted. This is not fear talking; this is wrapping my brain around reality."

This woman has tried warning her friends and family, but when she saw them "taking cruises and trips to Florida," she knew the message wasn't getting through.

Grasshoppers, every one of them. Grasshoppers are not people who are unemployed or facing eviction or dealing with medical bills. Grasshoppers are people who have jobs and are perfectly capable of preparing, but who deny that hard times could ever happen.

Whenever I address this subject in a column, there's always someone who "jokingly" announces that he'll just come live with us if the bleep hits the fan. My standard reply is, "Stand in line. There are dozens ahead of you." The honest truth of the matter is, "Why is it MY responsibility to feed YOU when you've had plenty of warning that times are going to be tough, and you've just been too stupid or stubborn to listen?"

And the trouble is, the woman with 48 relatives shares a major concern with other Ants: We love our Grasshoppers to pieces. They are our friends and family. So the question arises – how do we decide who comes to live with us and share our supplies? How many Grasshoppers can one Ant support?

The end of La Dolce Vita ~ By Patrick J. Buchanan

For those that don't know, "La Dolce Vita" is Italian for "the good life" or "the sweet life." I only know because I just looked it up. That should tell you what you need to know to understand just what Pat is saying.  We have become so accustomed to the good life, despite the huge cost, what will happen if can't be paid for in the future? What will happen if the economies of Europe and America collapse? A one world economic system? Global governance? Tyranny? We may be about to find out.
La Dolce Vita is coming to an end. The ever-expanding European and American welfare states of the 20th century will contract in the 21st. Some have already begun to shrink. A time of austerity is at hand.

Indeed, what is about to be tested is democracy itself.

Can democracies that attracted universal applause in the golden years of rising expectations impose upon their citizens the enduring and painful sacrifices necessary in a time of retrenchment?

We are about to find out.

Are Europe and America headed to where Athens is today?

To answer the question, consider what brought Greece to where she is – running a deficit of 14 percent of gross domestic product with a debt approaching 100 percent, with Portugal, Spain, Ireland and Great Britain not that far behind.

How did this happen?

Protected by the United States through a half-century of Cold War, Europe cut back on defense and ratcheted up spending for La Dolce Vita.

All of Europe adopted universal health care. All voted in a shorter workweek, a higher minimum wage, greater job security, earlier retirements and munificent pensions.

As the cradle-to-grave welfare states rose, an ever-increasing share of the labor force left the private sector for the security of the public sector.

Tax-consumers, the beneficiaries of the welfare states and the bureaucrats that ran them, grew in number, as taxpayers declined as a share of the labor force. Though Greece was far from the most productive nation in Europe, Athens led the parade.

After the baby boom ended, the pill arrival in the 1960s. Then came abortion on demand in the 1970s.

The fertility rate of Greece and every European nation fell below the 2.1 births per woman needed to replace an existing population. Greece's birth rate has been below zero population growth for three decades.

Result: In Year 2000, Greece had just under 11 million people and a median age of 38. In 2050, Greece is projected to have just under 11 million people, but the median age will be 50.

Were Greece a company, the solution would be bankruptcy.

But Greece is a country. And a bailout of $141 billion is being put together by the European Union and International Monetary Fund.

Why? Because, should Greece decide not to take a chain saw to her welfare state, but walk away from her debts and default, she would blow a hole in the balance sheets of the biggest banks in Europe.

Then the banks would have to be bailed out.

Seeing Greece's bondholders being burned, terrified holders of Portuguese and Spanish debt would start dumping their bonds, forcing Madrid and Lisbon to pay a higher interest rate both to sell new bonds and roll over the old ones coming due. Rather than savage their welfare-state programs, and risk riots in the streets and a massacre at the polls, Madrid and Lisbon, too, might look agreeably at default.

Chancellor Angela Merkel, though exasperated with the Greeks, is urging Germans to back the $141 billion bailout: "Nothing less than the future of Europe ... is at stake."

Merkel believes there is no alternative. But there is an alternative – a restructuring of Greece's debt or a default where the holders of Greek bonds suffer the fate of the holders of bonds from Lehman Brothers and General Motors.

Inevitably, this is what is going to happen.

For how long will Greeks work longer, retire later and live on smaller pensions, so holders of Greek bonds can get their interest payments right on time?

The EU and IMF may, with the bailout of Greece, kick this can up the road. But the crisis will return. For the nations of Europe have made commitments beyond their capacity to keep, given their growing debts and aging populations.

And America is not all that far behind.

10 'cans' amidst all the 'can't' thinking ~ By Herman Cain

This column is for all of us that are beginning to lose hope with all the things going on in the world. I know, sometimes it isn’t easy to avoid despair. I know, sometimes it isn’t easy to believe that we, as individuals, can do anything to change what is going on. But always remember, you aren’t alone. We have each other, and we have God.
For those who are losing hope I offer these "10 cans":

You CAN have a dream, without knowing how to get there.
You CAN have a life, just start somewhere.

You CAN make a difference, one person at a time.
You CAN make things happen; don't expect a straight line.

You CAN be happy, if you have a hope inside.
You CAN have love in your life, but look beyond the outside.

You CAN solve your problems, but FIRST, count your blessings.
You CAN find the strength, like an eagle, waiting, and resting.

You CAN make this a better world, but life is just a minute.
God CAN lead you through it, if all your heart is in it.

– The Hermanator

Despite all the bad news, there is hope if we do what we can do.

The Gulf Coast states did not need another disaster to deal with, but the bad news just keeps on coming. People were killed when the British Petroleum oil platform exploded, along with what will be the worst oil spill in history.

As we hear the news each day about the difficulty in stopping the spread of the oil spill in the Gulf, and the impending dangers to wildlife, fisheries, businesses and the coastal states, we become more and more frustrated because there is nothing most of us can do individually to help the situation.

We can only pray for the people and agencies trying to remedy the situation that they will have the resolve and resources to stop the spread of the impact of this disaster.

Consistent bad news leads to a bad attitude, lack of confidence and, eventually, failure. Just ask any high achiever in business, sports or any endeavor of life.

Since the summer of 2008, we have been fed a constant diet of more and more bad news about the economy, the credit crisis, the housing crisis, the recession, political scandals, a dysfunctional federal government, crooked politicians, crooked lenders, crooked borrowers and crooked executives.

We are constantly being reminded that it is going to take time to fix these problems, and that there are no quick fix solutions. We know that, but the Obama administration and Congress continue to believe that they can spend us out of these problems. They can't. The math does not work.

The coming dictatorship ~ By Robert Ringer

Well, at least I now know I'm not alone in thinking of the "impossible" event that Barack Hussein Obama may find a crisis to come up with a reason to suspend elections. Robert Ringer explains how an entitlement driven economy will lead to hyper-inflation, which could then be that "crisis" that could be taken advantage of, as Rahm Emanuel had mentioned ("don't let a crisis go to waste"). Yep, I do believe that Robert Ringer is one of the few commentators, besides Glenn Beck, that are not afraid to tell the American people what we could be facing.
I thought about this issue while attending the recent tea party outside the Capitol building in Washington. As I crossed Independence Avenue, I noted a somber-looking guard holding a Rambo-style weapon in his hands. I have no idea what it was, but there's no question in my mind that just one pull of the trigger could have rearranged the body parts of a large number of tea-party people.

The totally peaceful gathering – repeat, totally peaceful – was infested with heavily armed police, but one, in particular, was especially ominous. As the tea partiers chanted "Kill the Bill" on the east side of the Capitol, a uniformed, lone figure stood at the top of the steep flight of stairs on the House side of the structure, automatic weapon at the ready, gazing down over the crowd.

It gave me the eerie feeling that I was in a banana republic. Had anyone dared to take things beyond mere chanting, there's no doubt in my mind that it would have become a scene right out of Caracas. All that was missing was Sean Penn.

In my article "The question 'conservative' pundits fear," I commented on how pleased I've been to see Glenn Beck talking about a subject I've been writing about since the late '70s: a government-declared state of emergency leading to a "temporary" dictatorship.

I have long believed that the mathematics of an insatiable entitlement society in the U.S. guarantees a runaway inflation, which likely would be followed by anarchy and chaos – a perfect excuse for government to resort to strong-armed totalitarian measures to "restore order." My model has always been Germany's Weimar Republic in the 1920s, where runaway inflation brought Adolf Hitler to power.

I originally believed that the runaway-inflation scenario in the U.S. would play out in the early 1980s, but a combination of Ronald Reagan and an explosion in technology headed it off. Nevertheless, the threat of a runaway inflation has continued to increase over the years, even while our false-prosperity economy was booming. That's because the underlying causes (government-employee wages and benefits, Social Security, Medicare, etc.) of our sick economy have never been addressed.

Unemployment is just a symptom; the disease is entitlements. Throughout the false-prosperity years, Social Security did not go away. It got bigger. Medicare did not go away. It got bigger. Virtually no other benefits went away. They only got bigger. So the underlying problem of entitlements not only has remained, but continued to grow.

The big news now is that Social Security may "go broke" this year instead of in 2017, which was originally projected. Really? And here I thought it's been broke for decades. Ditto with Medicare. These programs were long ago Madoffized.

Almost from the start, government has simply taken in new money from taxpayers and handed it over to those on the entitlements side of the fence – with a large chunk of the largess being skimmed off the top for government employees who administer these programs.

All it took to bring things to a head was a shameful spending spree by a progressive Republican president and a Republican Congress, followed by the ascent of a committed Marxist to the presidency (along with a cooperative majority in Congress).

Now, throw on top of all that a huge new tax-and-spending bill ("health-care legislation"), and the end result seems assured. However, with the government's power to tax, print and borrow, no one knows how long it will be before the inevitable runaway inflation sets in.

But if BHO truly has his mind set on establishing a dictatorship – and it is my personal belief that he does – it's too risky for him to wait for a runaway inflation as an excuse to call a state of emergency. He knows that as long as there is a semblance of a free market in place, producers will continue to push back against the economy-killing effects of his policies.

Thus, he needs another excuse to declare a state of emergency. In previous articles, I've mentioned a nuke exchange between Iran and Israel as one possibility. Another is civil unrest due to unemployment rates that could reach 25 percent or more in the not-too-distant future.

These and others still remain possibilities, but last week Glenn Beck came up with one that may be even more likely. Beck believes that Obama will continue to keep the accelerator pressed to the floor – amnesty for illegal immigrants, a cap-and-trade bill that will eliminate the U.S. as a global business competitor, and more – thus enraging an already angry public to the point of revolution.

In other words, purposely foment "civil unrest" rather than wait for something like unemployment or runaway inflation to make it happen. As Beck puts it, just continue to poke people in the eye, then use their predictable and justifiable backlash as an excuse to establish dictatorial powers.

Obama: Visions of Caesar? ~ By Erik Rush

Erik writes about something that I've felt for quite some time. I honestly have to wonder if Obama is intentionally destroying the economy to create a "crisis." And maybe I need to be wearing my tin-foil hat, but I think the ultimate purpose is to go to a New World Order. I know that there are many on the left that want global governance. And I know many of them are in Congress or working in the White House.
I've expressed my belief in the possibility that, given President Obama's political background and the number of power-mad freaks in Washington in general, his intention is to coordinate a societal breakdown (probably precipitated by an economic implosion) so horrendous that unprecedented government intervention on a civil level will be "unavoidable."

If your friend jumped off of a bridge, would you jump too?

~ Parental admonition
Many of us remember an older relative – usually one's mother – asking that question at least once during our childhoods when we did – or wanted to do – something stupid or dangerous and attempted to deflect the blame onto a cohort. Since I grew up in New York, of course it was always the Empire State Building rather than a bridge.

Urged on by those who thought it would be amusing, some years back, America's friend Europe jumped into the sociopolitical equivalent of a toilet. At first, it looked like Europe might be having fun splashing around in there. Now, as she drowns in the thickening, fetid soup, amidst the noxious reek and floaties, Europe's plight is beginning to look decidedly frightening.

Despite this, Europe herself doesn't seem to know yet how bad it might get – like, real "Road Warrior" stuff – as she struggles harder and with increasing ineffectiveness. And right now, those who urged Europe to jump have America on the fence as to whether she ought to do likewise.

America is clearly confused.

What gives pause is something that would give millions of Americans chills, if it were being covered at all by the establishment press, this being that Europe is in serious trouble – even worse than that of the United States, if that is to be believed. In Greece, the yawning chasm of its deficit and titanic debt have caused ugly strikes among public-sector workers, and Greeks are angry.

In Holland, fear and loathing over where multiculturalists have taken that nation (stemming largely from their population of radicalized, militant Muslims asserting themselves) are giving rise to social turmoil. Backlash from the right (or what Europeans call "the right") and the ongoing efforts of socialist concerns are threatening to pull the country apart.

In America, during the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression, the administration of President Barack Obama elected to spend over $3 trillion in nine months – and they are looking at laying out much, much more. They're also poised to raise taxes, when the conventional wisdom indicates that cutting taxes generates more tax revenue than raising them. Obama is doggedly attempting to "lower health-care costs" by insinuating massive government control into our health-care system, when government mandates concerning a segment of our population caused health-care costs to skyrocket for the remaining segment in the first place.

The long march to Bethlehem ~ By Joseph Farah

Commentary from WorldNetDaily
Joseph Farah By Joseph Farah Posted: December 24, 2009 ~ 1:00 am Eastern © 2009 Did you hear the news? The European Union earlier this month urged the International Monetary Fund to pursue a global tax on financial transactions to limit the risk of another economic crisis. Limit the risk of another economic crisis? Wouldn't a global tax ensure another economic crisis? Here we go again. As millions of Christians around the world prepare to celebrate the birth of Yeshua of Nazareth, there's more and more talk of global taxation and global government. Whether "global warming" or solving the world's financial problems is the excuse du jour, many are promoting the idea of one-world government complete with one-world taxes. What does this have to do with the birth of Yeshua about 2,000 years ago? Read the Book of Luke. A global tax preceded the birth of the Savior. That was the very reason Joseph and Mary had to travel to Bethlehem from their home in Nazareth to have the child. READ FULL STORY >

Ron Paul's hour of power ~ By Patrick J. Buchanan

Commentary from WorldNetDaily
Patrick Buchanan By Patrick J. Buchanan Posted: December 11, 2009 ~ 1:00 am Eastern © 2009 The decades-long campaign of Ron Paul to have the Government Accountability Office do a full audit of the Federal Reserve now has 313 sponsors in the House. Sometimes perseverance does pay off. If not derailed by the establishment, the audit may happen. Yet, many columnists and commentators are aghast. An auditors' probe, they wail, would imperil the Fed's independence and expose it to pressure from Congress to keep interest rates low and money flowing when the need of the nation and economy might call for tightening. They cite Paul Volcker, who to squeeze double-digit inflation out of the economy in the late Carter and early Reagan years, drove the prime rate to 21 percent, causing the worst recession since the Depression. Volcker, they claim, prepared the ground for the Reagan tax cuts and seven fat years of prosperity. That decade, America created 20 million jobs – and another 22 million in the Clinton era. Without Volcker putting the economy through the wringer, it could not have happened. And had he been forced to explain his decisions, Congress would have broken his policy. Such is the cast for Fed independence. But if true, what does this say about our republic? READ FULL STORY >

Is alternative to dollar in works?

From WorldNetDaily
Plan for 'Special Drawing Rights' creates competition for reserve currency Jerome Corsi By Jerome R. Corsi Posted: October 20, 2009 ~ 9:38 pm Eastern © 2009 WorldNetDaily The administration of President Barack Obama, without congressional authorization, is advancing a plan that could end the use of the U.S. dollar as the world reserve currency by setting up International Monetary Fund Special Drawing Rights to compete. The move comes as the dollar heads toward a 14-month low of $1.50/euro and as some top fund managers, including some of President Obama's top financial supporters, worry the decline will continue as long as Obama depends on China to fund trillion dollar budget deficits. It is Obama's promise to participate in a G20 nations agreement by giving $250 billion to the IMF to set up the alternative reserve currency that now has been documented in the final communiqué of the London meeting, according to the G20 website. At G20.org, a report under "The London Summit 2009" reveals the LondonSummit.gov.uk/en/ site where "Point 5" of the final communiqué says the G20 agreed to allocate that amount to Special Drawing Rights in a move calculated to provide the liquidity needed to position SDRs as a dollar alternative in international trade. 2012 forecast: Food riots, ghost malls, mob rule, terror

From WorldNetDaily
Trends chief says people should brace for 'the greatest depression' By Bob Unruh Posted: October 10, 2009 ~ 12:15 am Eastern © 2009 WorldNetDaily A trends forecaster says the current economic "rebound" from last winter's Wall Street collapse of banks, insurance companies and automobile manufacturers is an artificial blip created by 'phantom money printed out of thin air backed by nothing." Gerald Celente of TrendsResearch.comAnd Gerald Celente of TrendsResearch.com, says people right now should be bracing for "the greatest recession" which will hit worldwide and will mark the "decline of empire America." Crop failures could be among the minor concerns. "Here we are in 2012. Food riots, tax protests, farmer rebellions, student revolts, squatter diggins, homeless uprisings, tent cities, ghost malls, general strikes, bossnappings, kidnappings, industrial saboteurs, gang warfare, mob rule, terror," he writes for a quarterly publication that is available through subscription on his website. He also talked about his forecasts with Greg Corombos of Radio America/WND in an interview that has been posted online. The recent surge in Wall Street indexes back to near the 10,000 level, still far below the 14,000 prior to the crash, should be no reassurance for anyone, he said. "There's no recovery. This is merely a cover-up," he said. "The market crashed in March of 2009 and around the world they papered over the damage from the collapse with phantom money printed out of thin air backed by nothing," he said. This is "much bigger" than an economic collapse, he said. "This is the decline of empire America." [CLICK HERE TO READ MORE]

Wishing doth not a recession end ~ By Herman Cain

From WorldNetDaily
Herman CainBy Herman Cain Posted: October 05, 2009 ~ 1:00 am Eastern © 2009 Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke has said that the recession is likely over. The Associated Press has interpreted the three-month decline of new jobless claims from June through August as an indicator of the economy getting better. Then oops! The new jobless claims in September went back up, and unemployment hit 9.8 percent. The ups and downs of the stock market have played many investors like a yo-yo, as they look for any signs that sustainable economic growth may be back. News flash! We are in a recession, and it is a long way from being over. Here are three reasons we will have a prolonged recession: 1) the non-stimulus $787 billion stimulus bill; 2) the threat of increased taxes in the Cap & Trade & Tax & Kill bill; and 3) the prospect of health-care deform legislation. None of these proposals inspires businesses to hire people. That's reality. I do applaud Bernanke's economic optimism, but I would applaud economic realism even more. The real measure of an economic turnaround is when businesses start hiring people again, but businesses are still trying to survive for at least another year in the midst of tremendous uncertainty about legislative proposals in Congress. The evidence is to just ask a business owner and not an academic, a bureaucrat or a media economics writer who has a vested interest in making the Obama administration look good.
