The Hard Truth About the “Stimulus” Bill ~ Ep. 1422 ~ The Dan Bongino Show

From the Dan Bongino Show's description of this episode in his Show Notes (a.k.a. Newsletter!):
In this episode, I discuss the death (Note: I think Dan meant to write "depth") of the latest outrage from cancel culture, and the fall out from the signing of the “stimulus” bill.

Here we are, finally.  The last week of the year.  It won't be long before this year of 2020 is finally out the door.  We don't know, of course, what 2021 will bring us.  It could be better, or it could be worse.  I know, what a thought!  I had a lot of time to reflect on things over the last four days.  On the good side, I'm hoping that we can see an end to the Covid-19 pandemic, with the new vaccinations now available.  I also think and hope that Demonicrat governors that have hampered our economy, and have been keeping businesses closed down, will eventually see what a horrible thing that they've been doing to our freedom.

And then, there is the possibility that Joe Biden will actually be our President.  I have good reason to believe that he will be very ineffectual as our leader, being that he could be extremely compromised by the Chinese.  But even thinking about the fact that he may have many skeletons in the closets that we don't even know about... yet, but that somebody will know about.  Somebody like maybe Kamala Harris who would be Vice-President, who could have him by the short-hairs, and be able to get him to do whatever she wants done.  Man, you talk about somebody that would have a lot of quid pro quo issues, such as somebody coming to him and saying, "Well, if you do X,Y and Z, we'll keep the investigation of your son, Hunter, from going anywhere."   What could possibly go wrong?  Well, it may give the radical Leftists in Congress a lot more power, for one thing...

So, what does what I wrote about above have to do with Episode 1422 of the Dan Bongino show?  Actually, absolutely nothing.  I had all that extra time this weekend, without having to do my blog posts for the show, and thought a lot about many things that are currently happening, and how it will affect this country in our future.  And in this episode, Dan is talking about what the cancel culture is doing to this country.  Dan also has a awesome segment about the trillions of dollars of debt this country has, and the way to possibly solve that problem.  I am not an economics wonk, but I totally understood his reasoning, and I loved it!

So, here you go, the newest episode by Dan, and a great start to another week!

Because I know that Dan Bongino would prefer that I embed the Rumble.com video here, I am now doing that! It finally came to me how to do it, and I am very pleased, because it doesn't require me to use the JavaScript code to do it! Did Trump Really Threaten to Veto the Stimulus Bill? ~ Ep. 1421 ~ The Dan Bongino Show

From the Dan Bongino Show's description of this episode in his Show Notes (a.k.a. Newsletter!):
In this episode, I discuss the behind the scenes strategy the Trump team likely used to box in Pelosi on the Stimulus Bill.

Dan explains how the "pocket veto" works, and how President Trump is using it to stymie Nancy Pelosi's effort to pass the latest porkulous bill for "Covid-19 relief" funds.  Yes, Congress put an enormous amount of foreign and domestic spending (a.k.a. Pork) into the bill that was supposed to give relief to Americans that were adversely affected by the Chinese Virus pandemic (because the state and local governments made many business shut down).   The President regards the mere, paltry little $600 check Americans would receive as an insult after all this time, and that it should be $2,000.  And Pelosi rightly deserves the credit for delaying the bill that would help Americans, by not wanting it to go through before the election, to hurt the President.

Be sure to watch the whole episode, too, so that you don't miss Dan's segments about the teacher's unions and the Soviet-style media, and the Marxist left's insistence that Joe Biden create a "department of truth" to keep the media in line with their Socialist agenda.  In other words, they want to keep people like Dan Bongino, or me, silent.  And they definitely don't give a flip about our First Amendment rights, or any Constitutional Rights, for that matter.

I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas!  I relaxed for a couple days,  and I'm getting excited now to see Dan's next episode on Monday! And, just in case you missed it, you can see Dan's Episode 1420 and my remarks about it here.

You’ll Be Furious When You Hear About The “Stimulus” Bill ~ Ep. 1420 ~ The Dan Bongino Show

From the Dan Bongino Show's description of this episode in his Show Notes (a.k.a. Newsletter!):
In this episode, I discuss the disastrous “stimulus” bill and the infuriating pork loaded into it.

Since I had to take last night off, I'll have my work cut out for me, to get caught up this weekend.  So, yes, this is Tuesday's episode, on December 22, 2020.  But don't worry, there wasn't any problem yesterday, I was just busy working on Christmas stuff.  By the time I was done last night, it was too late for me to watch the show, and then coherently write about it.  Oh, and by the way, I have been listening to my Christmas music playlist while writing, and it is so very enjoyable!  I have 259 songs on the playlist right now, and it goes through the list randomly (in shuffle mode).  Really delightful listening, and it is that season!

Dan is so right about the politicians and bureaucrats in Washington, and probably a lot of states, being very unintelligent about economics.  Okay, they are either really stupid, or the other option:  They are out to destroy this great country.  Well, yes, destroying the economy will lead to destroying our freedom!  And that is sad, but it's going to happen if we don't figure out how to get our politicians to quit coming up with ways to spend our money that we don't have.  Dan is so right when he talks about the economic affects of printing money and how that leads to inflation!  You'll definitely want to pay close attention to those segments.  There are video clips of Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) and Dinesh D'Souza to support what Dan tells us.  Very important information, don't miss it!

The segment that will mean the most, and probably something you should, and will, remember the rest of your life, will be Dan's final words of the episode, just after Dinesh's clip about what Socialism is.  Starting at about 50:00 into the video, following the SimpliSafe spot, that you should keep in mind, just in case your kid comes home from college for the Christmas break, and starts spouting garbage about how great Socialism is that some professor fed them.  They will be misguided and confused about it.  You can help them out!  Yes, show them that last 20 minute segment that Dan does here, destroying any Communist propaganda that the kids come home with.  (Actually, that's already possibly the case with your kids that are still K-12 in the public schools!)

By the way, this may be my last issue until after Christmas Day, so that I can concentrate on the holiday, and family, to what ever extent I can.  So, have a very Merry Christmas!

Because I know that Dan Bongino would prefer that I embed the Rumble.com video here, I am now doing that! Tucker: Inside the Democrats' $3 trillion coronavirus relief bill ~ Fox News Video

When the smoke clears, only China will be able to bail us out from our mountain of debt.

Tucker Carlson talks about the House bill that would give Demonicrats the majority for our lifetimes. It allows illegal immigrants to receive those $1,200 stimulus checks, they can't be deported, and in fact allows for further numbers of guest worker visas, in the medical industry, when many people in that industry have already lost their jobs. It is outrageously insane.

As of right now, the House has already passed this massive bill. Most people do believe that the bill will be dead on arrival in the U.S. Senate. We better hope it is!

We Need an Immediate Exit Strategy ~ Ep. 1217 ~ The Dan Bongino Show®

From the Bongino Show's description of this episode on youtube.com/Bongino or in his show notes:
In this episode, I address the brewing plot by Nancy Pelosi to attack the Trump administration in the middle of a crisis. I also address the exit strategy from this economic shutdown that must be implemented immediately. Finally, I address the latest Moscow Maddow meltdown.
I don't know quite how Dan Bongino does it.  He can pack so much information into one show, it's like he's super-human (that could explain it!).  The incredible amount of work that must take is mind boggling to me.  All of the research it takes, and following media, and seeing what various politicians or media people are doing, it is beyond my explanation.  And that is my point.  It is why I present The Dan Bongino Show on this blog.  It is because many accolades are well deserved.  And keep in mind, he is always working on his books while doing this show.  It's amazing.  Okay, well, enough of my boot-licking, but I really couldn't help myself.

So, in this episode, one of the major subjects that I've had on my mind, is, how are we going to get out of this mess?  I trust the President's judgment on how and when we'll get back on track.  No, if I was listening to Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, and their Media shills (their allies, like Roswell Rachel), I would be having a panic attack, and start believing their claims that the end is near.  But, I instead feel very good about the Trump administration's handling of the Coronavirus pandemic.  And Dan Bongino lays out an excellent strategy for how we get out of this funk.

I highly recommend checking out the News Picks for this episode, that can be found here.

Panic Merchants and Hysteria Traders are Everywhere ~ Ep. 1215 ~ The Dan Bongino Show®

From the Bongino Show's description of this episode on youtube.com/Bongino:
In this episode, I address the hidden pork in the “stimulus” bill which will infuriate you. I also address a real plan going forward which would save our economy and our children’s prosperity. I discuss the media panic merchants and their latest lies and distortions designed to spread hysteria.
As you watch this episode, I am sure you will also be asking questions. One being, who the heck is going to pay for that $2.2 Trillion "stimulus" bill? Our children, grandchildren, AND great grandchildren? But along the way, is there ever going to be some point where the U.S. is not going to be able to borrow money without a gigantic interest rate? Well, that is how it works in the real world. As Dan reiterates all of the time, "All debts are paid."

There will be a big reward for those of you that stick through the whole episode. Dan explains the bed "quitters" principle, where some people can not control their emotions, and they panic. Those that can control their emotions will be much more able to FIX THE PROBLEM, rather than get hysterically panicked with the situation. So, just because I'm not writing a long essay about this episode, it is because I want you to see it for yourselves. That is the responsible thing for me to do. Kind of like "social distancing" is the right thing to do. Oh, and I am even skipping doing the related stories from the Bongino Show Notes this time, too. There is a much easier way to see all of the stories. Just go to the page, by clicking here. Only one extra click for you, and hours of work saved for me, so I can keep getting content out, and stay up to date.  Problem fixed.

Governments don't create prosperity ~ By John Stossel

John Stossel weighs in on the "government spending creates jobs" issue. After spending trillions of dollars in order to stimulate our economy, unemployment remains high and the economy remains stagnant. One of the points that Stossel makes here is how uncertainty continues to drag down our economy. Pour all the money you can into improving the infrastructure, in other words, and nothing will change if small business - the engine of the economy - is reluctant to expand. The private sector needs to be expanding in order for our economy to prosper.

Governments don't create prosperity

Politicians say they create jobs, but they really don't. Or rather, they rarely create productive jobs. Government has no money of its own. All it does is take resources from one group and give them to another. The pharaohs might have claimed they created work when they ordered that pyramids be built, but think how much richer (and freer) the Egyptians would have been if they'd been allowed to pursue their own interests.

It's individuals in the marketplace who create real jobs – when they have the protection of life and property under the rule of law.

Economic freedom is the key. The theory couldn't be more clear, and at this late date in human history, it shouldn't be necessary to rehearse the abundant evidence. Look at the various indexes that correlate economic freedom with economic growth. The healthiest economies are those with the most economic freedom. Unemployment is low in those places – 3 percent in Hong Kong, 2 percent in Singapore, 5 percent in Australia

Alas, the United States places ninth, behind Canada, and those countries with the least economic freedom have few real jobs and no prosperity.

Unfortunately, most politicians still don't understand – or have no incentive to understand – that economic freedom, and therefore less government, creates prosperity. Well, maybe that's changing. This year is first I've heard so many presidential candidates talk about the private sector. Indeed, one candidate, former New Mexico Gov. Gary Johnson, told me he created "not one single job. ... Government does not create jobs."

Real state of the union – by the numbers ~ By Herman Cain

Like the appliance repair man, we will continue to have some restless nights because of broken promises and failed policies by the administration. The House is starting to see the light, but this president isn't even aware of the heat.

Maybe he will become aware in 2012 when he joins the ranks of the unemployed.

You know, I still haven't watched Obama's latest State of the Union address yet. I really wouldn't need to ever watch it, either. I've been focused on watching Obama's actions over the last few years since I first became aware of him, long before he became President. There wouldn't have been much more that I could have learned about Obama by watching the speech. They're just his words (not that he actually wrote them, or anything). And of course, I was already aware that he can read a teleprompter. Obamessiah's actions have spoken much louder.

Herman Cain, in this column, tells it like it really is. Look at the numbers, man! Didn't Obama promise us that jobs were a priority when he wanted his stimulus plan two years ago? And did it work? Has anything Obama has done worked? Trying to make America accepted in the world again? How has that worked out? Say, didn't Obama give a speech over there in Egypt a while back? That's kind of weird, but I guess those folks there didn't take notes during his speech. And, Obama has no clue what to do about the protests. (Or does he? Maybe he considers the Muslim Brotherhood to be his friends. Just sayin'...)

If we are lucky, it will be Herman Cain in 2012 that shows Obama the way to the unemployment line. I happen to like both Herman's words and his actions.

Now that the mainstream media are hopefully done swooning over President Obama's State of the Union speech, some of us are more concerned about the real state of the union, by the numbers. It's not what he said or did not say, nor is it how he said it. It should be about our national security and our national economic health.

The day after the president's State of the Union speech, an appliance installation and repair man was installing some new appliances in our home. Unsolicited, he said he had a hard time sleeping last night after hearing the president's speech. When I asked why, he said he did not hear anything in the speech that made him feel that America is safer as a nation, nor did he hear anything that would really help grow the economy.

I told him I agreed with him, and that he expressed the feelings of probably most of us who are not intoxicated by the president's words and his delivery. Many people are, but most of us are not.

Maybe there are some provisions in the START treaty that regular folk like the repair man and I don't know about. But it appears as if the Russians got a better deal by limiting our ability to deploy missile-defense systems in other parts of the world, where a lot of our enemies are located. For example, cancellation of the missile-defense system being built in Turkey does not seem like a good idea. The world is not safer! And we have reduced our ability to help keep it safe.

Many of the most compelling facts about the real state of our economy were missing from the president's speech.

Obama thinks U.S. exceptionalism begins with gov't ~ By David Limbaugh

When the Soviet Union lurched ahead of us in the space race, America's leaders launched a national effort to surpass the Soviets. For Obama, by analogy, the federal government has to be the prime mover in leading and catalyzing America's comeback in education and in economic growth. We cannot understand Obama without recognizing that he believes the private sector can't create or innovate without paternalistic direction and googobs of money from the wiser beings in Washington.

"We know what it takes to compete for the jobs and industries of our time," he said. "The first step ... is encouraging American innovation." Note that he didn't mean "encourage" in the sense of getting government off businesses' and people's backs. He means the federal government should proactively prod, direct and lead us into the promised land of economic growth.

In this brilliant column, David Limbaugh examines the meaning behind Obama's State of the Union speech and what Obama meant by his "sputnik moment." David emphasizes that Obama's use of the word "investment" actually means using government spending, rather than the free market system, to "proactively prod, direct and lead us into the promised land of economic growth." It is just more proof that the President is not going to be moving to the center, and that he is too arrogant to believe that private industry and citizens can crank up our economy if the government would just get out of the way.

A very special update

I just saw a tweet from a friend on twitter, @Conservativeind, that mentions this song.  The lyrics are something very important to keep in mind as you read David's column.

Obama's latest watchword, "investments," is not, as I originally assumed, simply a euphemism for government spending. It captures his entire economic philosophy – a philosophy that is permanently engrained in the core of his being and disastrous for America's "future."

President Bill Clinton shrewdly used the word as a more palatable substitute for income tax rate increases, saying taxpayers needed to "invest" more of their hard-earned dollars in America. But Obama's use of the term was different in two important ways. First, for him, "investments" would apply to the spending side of the fiscal equation. He would ask our support in his plan to "invest" more government money in infrastructure and education.

Secondly, and more significantly, Obama used the term to candy-coat his fundamental lack of confidence in the private sector and free market, as well as his commitment to faith in government as the primary engine for economic growth.

For all the analysis of Obama's speech, I don't think nearly enough has been made of this theme, which was interwoven throughout it. For it is the key to understanding that regardless of any promises he might make to move to the center, he will not do so willingly. It is also critical to comprehending why, despite the marked failure of his economic policies, he is virtually incapable of voluntarily changing course.

Obama's critics often say that it's important to pay more attention to his actions than his words. Though there is much validity in that, it's also true that we must not overlook his words, for he is not always careful to disguise his heartfelt views.

2010: Don't forget, and do tell! ~ By Herman Cain

In his column today, Herman Cain wants to remind everyone not to forget all the things that Obama and the Democrat controlled Congress have done in the past two years. Herman says that the important thing to do is to make sure to tell people that are willing to listen. Don't let people forget!

Don't forget what President Obama and the Democrat-controlled Congress did in 2010 – and tell everybody who will listen! And if they do not get outraged, then they are sleeping under a rock, and they can't get out.

Pure politicians have for years depended on voters to forget their misdeeds leading up to the next election. But things are different! Voters are not as stupid and uninformed as they used to be. People are more informed and aware of the arrogance of the current administration and Congress than ever before.

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi said they needed to pass the health-care deform bill first, so they can then tell us what's in the bill. They passed it, and we now know what's in the bill: an assault on our liberties, increased taxes through fines and an unprecedented expansion of government bureaucracy in our lives. Don't forget!

The president's insistence on passing the health-care deform bill against the will of the majority of the American people was a historic presidential slap in the face of the people. Poll after poll had confirmed that the people did not like this government takeover of our health-care system, but the president and the Democrat-controlled Congress did it anyway. Don't forget!

How about a regressive tax system? ~ By Robert Ringer

Just before it passed through Congress, Robert Ringer had written about the tax deal that was just signed into law yesterday. While the column discusses Robert's idea about a regressive tax system, I have included two excerpts below where Robert brings up specific points about the deal that he has a problem with. Now that Congress has included a 13 month extension to unemployment benefits, (and raised the estate tax back up to 35%, which wasn't mentioned in the column), he feels that it "would offset much, if not all, of that illusory economic stimulus by bleeding vast sums into idle hands."

How refreshing it was to read Rep. Michele Bachmann's choice of words when she said, "I called for the current tax rates to be made permanent for all Americans." Finally, a Republican who refuses to use the term "Bush tax cuts" when alluding to our current tax rate.

As I have repeatedly pointed out, when politicians and media pundits talk about the "Bush tax cuts," they clearly are implying that the normal, acceptable tax rates are whatever they were before President Bush reduced them. Claire McCaskill recently summed up this warped far-left viewpoint when she said, "If they think it's OK to raise taxes for the embattled middle class because … we don't GIVE more money to millionaires, it really is time for people in America to pick up pitchforks."

I understand that lefties like McCaskill are hopeless, but I often wonder if I'm the only one who finds it odd when a Republican legislator says, "You don't raise taxes in the middle of a recession." Such a statement implies that it's OK to raise taxes when times are good. Sorry, but there's no such thing as a good time to raise taxes.

If raising taxes is a bad thing to do during a recession, why would it be a good thing to do when the economy is strong? What would be the objective – to try make a strong economy weak? If high taxes are good for the economy, let's have high taxes permanently. But if they're bad for the economy, let's get rid of them altogether.

Republicans will be shooting themselves in the foot if they finalize a deal that includes an extension of unemployment benefits. Why don't we stop kidding ourselves and admit that this insidious transfer-of-wealth program is evolving into a guaranteed minimum income (via never-ending extensions). Sorry, Nancy, but unemployment benefits accomplish just three things: They 1) increase the deficit, 2) cause unemployment and 3) slow economic growth.

No one knows the exact degree of the tradeoff, but the big picture is that in a compromise scenario people would get to keep more of their own money because taxes would not be increased (for now), and some would use it as an opportunity to expand their businesses and create jobs. But the increase in unemployment benefits would offset much, if not all, of that illusory economic stimulus by bleeding vast sums into idle hands.

John Bolton thinking of running for president

John Bolton, former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, tells Aaron Klein that he is considering a run for President in 2012. His main issues are national security and foreign policy, which he feels that Barack Obama has been very weak on.

John Bolton
John Bolton, the former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, announced today he is considering a bid for U.S. president in 2012.

It was his first direct response to months of Internet speculation that he may join the next presidential race.

Bolton was speaking to WND senior reporter Aaron Klein on the latter's investigative radio show on WABC in New York.

"Yes, I am considering it," Bolton said when asked if he is considering a 2012 presidential run. "I am very concerned about the direction of national security policy."

Continued Bolton: "I am concerned that we hardly talk about it at national level debates in the mainstream media. The president, as they say, just seems to view national security issues as an irritation, as a distraction from what his real priorities are."

Presidency in free fall ~ By Herman Cain

Liberty or tyranny. Freedom or slavery. We still have the choice. Why do you think I am so desperately trying to get out the truth? Whether here or on my youtube channel, I do my best to get a whole lot of attention; not to me, but to the people that know how to make a whole lot of sense.

Video provided by TheREALjohnny2k

So, I put the stuff out there, as much as I have time to do, on a daily basis. Believe me, I soak in a lot more information than I can ever have time to deliver to you. Every day, I am faced with decisions about what to produce. This column or that column, this news segment or that news segment. I have to decide what will do the most good towards the goal of spreading the idea of liberty.

So, I had to make that same decision once again last night. Not only did I want to pick the right column to put on this blog, but also which videos I wanted to include with it. (That's something I have been doing a lot more of lately; putting related videos with the columns I post is a time-consuming part of the projects.)

And the most difficult thing is knowing all the disparaging of tea partiers that I would like to be able to counter, and not having any more time than I do, I have to decide what to post or upload (video) that will counter the normal everyday slander.

But to see what has happened in the last three months has broken my heart, but not my spirit. I have been saddened by a drastic decrease in the views to this blog site. But yet, maybe there is something good from that. It does not mean that somebody won't come along and say, "Hey, I never heard about this stuff before, I wasn't aware of people like Herman Cain."

It is why I do what I do. Just hoping that one of you learns something that I had to learn along the way. It isn't about gaining fame and fortune. I know I am not going to reach millions of people. I'll leave that to the professionals, like Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck and Herman Cain. Just sayin'...

Many congressional Democrats running for re-election are distancing themselves from the president, the health-care deform bill and the Cap-and-Trade-and-Tax-and-Kill bill. And they don't even talk about all of the spending, which has not been the solution to economic growth. In fact, they want to spend more!

And now the Democrats have decided to wait until after the November elections to pass legislation on the expiring current tax rates. This is a signal that the president and the Democrats are going to raise taxes. We just do not know whether it will be on all of us or some of us.

Instead of a parachute, this president and Congress are determined to put this economy and nation into a nose dive.
Presidency in free fall

In less than two years, this presidency has produced an unprecedented turnover rate of top administration advisers, a failed stimulus spending bill, failed economic policies that have left the economy stalled, much higher than expected unemployment, a hugely unpopular health-care bill, a financial regulatory deform bill, a list of expensive and poorly executed populist programs that flopped, out-of-control federal spending, uncertainty about success with the war in Afghanistan and increased tensions with Iran, North Korea and China.

Millions of voters have come to realize that this presidency lacks leadership, direction, decisiveness, economic urgency and, most of all, solutions. This combination of deficiencies has produced a more than uninspired citizenry, except for the most loyal and misled supporters of the president.

And just like the Obama supporter who confronted the president at a supposedly friendly town-hall meeting last week, people are exhausted from listening to all of the failed attempts to spin failures into successes with speeches and media sound bites.

A disheartened Obama supporter called my radio show last week and asked if I could name one thing that Obama had done right, since it seemed to him that all I talk about are the things that have not worked. I honestly tried to think of something significantly positive, but I could not. There have been too many disappointments and broken campaign promises.

This presidency is in free-fall, which means this nation is in free-fall.

But after further reflection, there is something this presidency has inspired. With the help of an incompetently led Congress, Obama has successfully awakened a citizen's movement that has stunned the political establishment in both parties.

Herman Cain : We the People

The political establishment and the Obama media call it those tea-party people. They can't seem to understand why people are upset. Maybe they're not listening.

The administration, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, other Democrats, the Obama mainstream media and other liberals have responded to the citizens' movement with nothing but name-calling attacks on the tea-party people. Those tactics have not worked. In fact, they appear to have further energized the citizen's movement. Demonization and intimidation of "We the People" is not working.

Sudden-death economics ~ By Herman Cain

I would have had The Hermanator's column posted here a couple of days ago, but found myself dealing with a crashed hard drive instead. Fortunately, Herman's column was not time-sensitive, as he is writing about a situation that is on-going.

Or, perhaps the hard drive catastrophy was just my excuse so I could put off the posting of this column, for the fact that it is a scary topic. And I don't think that would be the only person around that wants to avoid what may be imminent and present danger to this country. I am not sure if many people have really considered what could happen to America should there be a financial collapse. But, if you think about it, should the economy of the United States collapse, I am sure the global economy would be quick to follow. And that is the very scary part of the potential financial collapse, a very possible scenario.

And knowing what I know about economics, I am wondering how the people running the government could not possibly understand what is facing this country economically. I would think that they would know that history shows that tax rate decreases have actually led to an increase in revenue (see "The Historical Lessons of Lower Tax Rates" which Herman links to in the FULL column). It is why I still hold the opinion that Obama and his administration DOES know what is going on, and that it could only be an intentional attempt to destroy this country - for what ever sinister reason they may have. Just sayin'...

Admittedly, this is not an inspiring or entertaining topic. In fact, it is downright scary. It is even scarier that a large number of voters are equally oblivious and blind to this clear and present financial danger. What happened in Greece and other European countries can happen here.

The big difference is that Uncle Sam does not have a "sugar daddy" to bail us out.

The 2010 congressional elections are sudden death for control of the House of Representatives. If real Republicans take control, there is some real hope of slowing down the destruction of our economy.

This is a serious crisis, and the elected so-called leaders are not listening. I believe the voters are listening. They will remember in November.

Our economy is on a government-induced lose-lose trajectory of financial destruction between federal spending and tax revenue. It's a Mathematically Assured Depression (MAD). The only unanswered question is when.

– Herman Cain, March 9, 2009, commentary
I do not enjoy bad news predictions. But the president, his administration, Congress and the major mainstream broadcast media are focused on everything except the coming financial disaster we face. It's not that the other issues are not critical. The financial crisis could be catastrophic.

The Congressional Budget Office issued another warning last week that the growing federal debt is unsustainable! It is a real crisis! As stated in the agency report, "A growing level of federal debt would increase the probability of a sudden fiscal collapse."

This did not just start under the Obama administration, but it has clearly accelerated during this administration. Consider the following statistics:

When President Obama took office in January 2009, the national debt was $9.5 trillion, which is nearly $32,000 for every man, woman and child living in this country. The national debt as of this writing is nearly $14 trillion, which is $45,000 for every man, woman and child living in this country. That's a historic increase in a historic short period of time!

That debt does not die when we die. Our children and grandchildren will have to pay our foreign creditors back, if we can avoid a total financial collapse.

As the president and Congress continue to spend like crazy, they continue to pay lip service to wanting to get spending under control. Their words do not match their actions.

For example, Senate Democrats tried to pass a $30 billion "drop in the bucket" package to help stimulate lending to small businesses. More than $600 billion of the stimulus bill has not worked, so the Democrats wanted to throw another $30 billion on top of the $846 billion stimulus spending. The majority of Republicans voted against it because it was new spending, when the money could have been taken out of unspent stimulus funding.

Of course, the president blamed the Republicans for being partisan obstructionists.

News detoxification time! ~ By Herman Cain

Herman has a great idea, but it isn't anything I could do! The withdrawal would be more than I could endure. And besides, I would have to have an intervention session. And I know how that would go. It would have to be done by some liberal. It would probably go like something from "The Exorcist" and a liberal would get thrown out of a window. Just sayin'...
There is one thing Congress should do before it takes an extended vacation, and that is to make the current tax rates permanent. It would provide some much-needed certainty about taxes, which would cause businesses to start growing their businesses again. Yes, we would then see some real job growth instead of imaginary and saved jobs.

If voters could persuade Congress to kill the cap-and-trade bill and make the tax rates permanent while I am on vacation from America's problems, my return would be like waking up to a wonderful dream.

If not, I will be returning to the same national nightmare we are in right now.

I know you are not going to believe this commentary, but try.

I am not going to read, watch or listen to any news stories about what is going on in this country for the next seven days. The only exception would be if I overhear someone mention that there has been another national or natural disaster. Otherwise, nada! Nor am I doing any of my radio shows.

I am taking a vacation from the problems of America.

For one week:
  • I will not hear another toothless Obama speech.
  • I will not hear another liberal try and defend the president's mishandling of the crisis in the Gulf, mishandling of the economy and national security.
  • I will not hear or read another analysis of Obama's leadership deficiencies, and there are many such analysis including mine.
  • I will not hear about another spending proposal by the Democrats to stimulate the economy, even though the first spending binge did not work.
  • I will not hear another warning about the unsustainable spending by the president and Congress, which they continue to ignore.
  • I will not hear about another tax proposal introduced in Congress to prevent further damage to a stalled economy, only to be rejected by the Democrats.
  • I will not hear about yet another grenade discovered in the health-care-deform legislation, which raises taxes and impedes our choices and our liberties.
  • I will not have to endure more congressional bashing of British Petroleum for pure political theater, which has produced absolutely no benefit to solving the problem.
  • I will not have to endure more deceptive stories about an economic recovery, the ups and downs of the stock market or the economic pain of the 15 million unemployed people who are suffering because of presidential, administration and congressional incompetence.
The last time I did a national-news detoxification was in 2004, and when I came back I had decided to run for the U.S. Senate in Georgia, because I could no longer sit on the sidelines and watch what was happening to this country even then without trying to do what I could do. We owe it to our grandchildren.

Although I finished an impressive second place in that Republican primary race in 2004, I have been defending the pursuit of happiness ever since through commentaries, speeches, radio and TV. Who knows what moment of insanity about public office I might have this time after my news detoxification? I'm just saying.

It's not 'anti-incumbency' – it's 'anti-liberalism' ~ By Larry Elder

Larry points out many of the factors that are causing the shift in who the voters are electing, and it isn't about who is the incumbent. There is much more to it than that! Just sayin'...
"We Are All Socialists Now," said Newsweek in a cover story last year. "No," say the voters. "We are not."

By Larry Elder

The story line goes like this: Recent elections find voters in an angry, "anti-incumbent" mood.

Time magazine wrote: "This is how it goes in 2010 at the ballot box: old orders are upended, political lions become roadkill, chosen successors get left behind and the outsider, riding a wave of discontent, becomes the new front-runner."

The Associated Press wrote: "It's an anti-Washington, anti-establishment year. And candidates with ties to either better beware. Any doubt about just how toxic the political environment is for congressional incumbents and candidates hand-picked by national Republican and Democratic leaders disappeared late Tuesday."

No. Voters said: "It's not the incumbents, stupid. It's how they voted. It's what they stand for." No incumbent who voted against the Bush/Obama bank bailouts, the "stimulus" package and Obamacare lost his or her job.

Voters hate the bank bailouts. They hate the government takeover of car companies. They do not believe that the $800 billion stimulus package stimulated anything but bigger government. They reject Obamacare and think it's costly and likely to worsen health care. Incumbents who voted for these things now face the music.

Democrats are breathing a sigh of relief that Mark Critz – Democrat and former staffer of the late Rep. John Murtha, D-Pa. – won the special election to succeed Murtha. But the pro-life, anti-gun control Critz said he would have voted against Obamacare. Not exactly a ringing endorsement for the Obama/Pelosi/Reid agenda of higher taxes, more spending and bigger government.

At their convention in Utah earlier this month, Republicans dumped incumbent and TARP supporter Sen. Bob Bennett, who also cosponsored a health care bill that smelled a lot like Obamacare. In Arkansas, another TARP supporter, Sen. Blanche Lincoln, must go through a June runoff election against a Democrat who painted her as a buddy to Wall Street banks. Calling Lincoln "Bailout Blanche," her opponent, Lt. Gov. Bill Halter, attacked her for taking contributions from Wall Street firms that received bailouts. He called TARP a cozy "Washington and Wall Street" arrangement that allows financial firms to fill "their pockets with insider deals and stick Arkansas families with the bill."

In March, Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchinson, R-Texas, lost her party's nomination for governor. Her opponent, incumbent Gov. Rick Perry, called her "Kay Bailout" over Hutchinson's vote for TARP. A Republican libertarian won the GOP primary for Senate in Kentucky.

In Florida, Republicans dumped Gov. Charlie Crist in the primary race for Senate. Crist, in a photo used against him by his opponents, hugged President Barack Obama. He supported the stimulus package. He also supported Obamacare, a plan rejected by Florida voters, who, according to a Rasmussen poll, favor its repeal 62 percent to 33 percent. His tea-party-backed opponent, Marco Rubio, former speaker of the Florida House, portrayed Crist as insufficiently fiscally conservative.

In Arizona, former Republican presidential candidate John McCain finds himself in a primary dogfight against former Rep. J.D. Hayworth. McCain did a 180 on "immigration reform" and now supports the new Arizona anti-illegal alien law. McCain famously "temporarily suspended" his presidential campaign during the Wall Street meltdown and voted for the widely unpopular bank bailouts.

The message is clear.

Bayh's goodbye: Here's the real reason ~ By Larry Elder

Commentary from WorldNetDaily
Politicians face voters upset with spending, borrowing and an ever-increasing federal government. The Constitution's framers wanted "gridlock," with laws deliberated at length before vote and implementation. Government was never designed for "change" or to "solve problems" – if this means bigger government. Our government was designed to be limited.

By Larry Elder

Sen. Evan Bayh, D-Ind., "shocked" President Barack Obama
and his party by announcing his plan to retire from the Senate. Appearing on CBS' "The Early Show," Bayh explained: Washington suffers from acute partisanship. Washington doesn't work. It is broken.

How noble – a principled position against "divisiveness." Let us honor a good man standing tall against the lack of "bipartisanship." Pass the barf bag.

When has Washington, D.C., not been "divisive" under a president pushing unpopular ideas – whether the war in Iraq, the Senate "amnesty" bill, partial privatization of Social Security or Bill Clinton's attempt to allow gays to serve openly in the military?

Could it be that the "fed-up" senator feared losing re-election? Don't ask. CBS didn't. The possibility that Bayh faced a tough re-election wasn't even hinted at. But imagine Bayh, who explored a 2008 presidential bid, running for re-election while justifying to skeptical Hoosiers his votes for "stimulus," TARP, the auto bailouts and Obamacare.

Here's the big underreported story.

In a hypothetical race against undeclared candidate Rep. Mike Pence, R-Ind. – according to a recent Rasmussen poll of likely voters – Bayh was down 3 points. Against another possible opponent, former House Republican John Hostettler, he was only ahead by 3 points. Welcome to the new normal. No Democrat or squishy Republican is safe.

By a 2-1 margin, more people call themselves politically conservative than liberal. Self-identified "independents," who outnumber both the Dems and the Republicans, have turned against Obama with a vengeance. This center-right country now realizes it elected a left-winger for president. And voters don't like what they see or what he's doing.

Even Bayh, perhaps inadvertently, let on that he believes the "stimulus" failed to stimulate. "If I could create one job in the private sector by helping to grow a business," he said, "that would be one more than Congress has created in the last six months."

Job creation, not gimmicks ~ By Herman Cain

Commentary from WorldNetDaily
The citizen activist movement that is growing across this country is no gimmick. It is getting bigger and bigger, and promises to produce even more election surprises in November of 2010 similar to what happened recently in New Jersey and Massachusetts.

Maybe then they will get it.

By Herman Cain

The president, his administration and most members of Congress still don't get it! So let's try to explain job creation another way. You stimulate the creation of jobs by reducing an employer's cost to keep people employed (less taxes) and then by reducing the cost of a business to grow their business (less regulations). If these two things happen, then jobs will be created.

Job creation is not a complicated phenomenon, but the president and the Democrats have been convinced that less taxes is bad, and more regulations are good. It's just the opposite, and there is plenty of historical evidence to prove it.

The Economic Report of the President was released last week by his Council of Economic Advisers. According to the Wall Street Journal, "the report offers few new policy prescriptions or economic forecasts." In fact, the administration still believes it can rebuild the economy through health-care legislation, clean-energy initiatives, infrastructure projects and small-business tax breaks.

Rep. Eric Cantor, R-Va., gave the most laser-like description of the report. "The Obama Administration's report is full of blame for the policies of years past, praise for its own failed policies of the past year, and promises about their ideological agenda to grow government."

Translation, the report is 400-plus pages of repackaged propaganda.

Of course the president restated his commitment to job creation, but most of the chatter from his administration and Congress about a new jobs bill is just another bunch of gimmicks that will do nothing to stimulate new job creation.

Just as "Cash for Clunkers" was a gimmick that did not work, the current offering of a $5,000 tax credit to employers who hire an unemployed worker, plus a limited-time suspension of part of their payroll taxes are just propaganda gimmicks.

State of the Union just got worse ~ By Herman Cain

Commentary from WorldNetDaily
Herman Cain By Herman Cain Posted: February 01, 2010 ~ 1:00 am Eastern © 2010 Last week I wrote an assessment of the real State of the Union. It was based on compelling and irrefutable facts. As expected, my assessment did not match what the president said last Wednesday in his State of the Union address. The president's address was filled with new rhetoric and old policy, more promises which had already been broken and more Bush-bashing. As a result, listeners did not get a sense of direction, a reassurance that we are safe, positive prospects for renewed prosperity, nor did we get a sense that we are more united as a nation. Obama supporters will say that he needs more time. Sorry, that dog will not hunt! We do not need another year of trying to spend our way to prosperity with more spending on government, and hardly any real incentives for businesses to start growing and hiring again. Even though the president said "Jobs will be our No.1 focus in 2010," people were left wondering "where's the beef!" We do not need to give President Obama more time to break the same promises he has already broken on transparency, pushing back on earmarks in proposed legislation and seriously listening to other ideas. And continuing to try and deflect all of our nation's problems on the eight years before he took office is a really bad excuse for a serious lack of leadership. And then things got worse. I am not talking about the just reported growth in GDP in the fourth quarter of 2009 over the third quarter. Even though the Associated Press article described the 5.7 percent growth rate as having "boomed" at the end of 2009, you have to read way deep into the article for them to point out that the 2009 growth rate over 2008 fell by 2.4 percent overall. Can't we at least get a toaster? ~ By Ann Coulter

Commentary from WorldNetDaily
Ann Coulter By Ann Coulter Posted: January 27, 2010 ~ 6:09 pm Eastern © 2010 In the wake of the Massachusetts Miracle last week ("The other Boston Massacre"), President Obama adopted a populist mantle, claiming he was going to "fight" Wall Street. It was either that or win another Nobel Peace Prize. Now the only question is which Goldman Sachs crony he'll put in charge of this task. If Obama plans to hold Wall Street accountable for its own bad decisions, it will be a first for the Democrats. For the past two decades, Democrats have specialized in insulating financial giants from the consequences of their own high-risk bets. Citigroup and Goldman Sachs alone have been rescued from their risky bets by unwitting taxpayers four times in the last 15 years. Bankers get all the profits, glory and bonuses when their flimflam bets pay off, but the taxpayers foot the bill when Wall Street firms' bets go bad on – to name just three examples – Mexican bonds (1995), Thai, Indonesian and South Korean bonds (1997) and Russian bonds (1998). As Peter Schweizer writes in his magnificent book "Architects of Ruin": "Wall Street is a very far cry from the arena of freewheeling capitalism most people recall from their history books." With their reverse-Midas touch, the execrable baby boom generation turned Wall Street into what Schweizer dubs "risk-free Clintonian state capitalism." Apropos of the Clintonian No-Responsibility Era, Goldman Sachs and Citibank became heavily invested in Mexican bonds after a two-day bender in Tijuana in the early '90s. Any half-wit could see that "investing" in the dog track would be safer than investing in a corrupt Third World government controlled by drug lords. But precisely because the bonds were so risky, bankers made money hand-over-fist on the scheme – at least until Mexico defaulted. With Mexico unable to pay the $25 billion it owed the big financial houses, Clinton's White House decided the banks shouldn't be on the hook for their own bad bets. Clinton's treasury secretary, Robert Rubin, former chairman of Goldman, demanded that the U.S. bail out Mexico to save his friends at Goldman. He said a failure to bail out Mexico would affect "everyone," by which I take it he meant "everyone in my building." Larry Summers, currently Obama's National Economic Council director, warned that a failure to rescue Mexico would lead to another Great Depression. (Ironically, Summers' current position in the Obama administration is "Great Depression czar.") Republicans in Congress said "no" to Clinton's Welfare-for-Wall-Street plan. It's not as if this hadn't happened before: In 1981, Reagan allowed Mexico to default on tens of billions of dollars in debt – Mexico claimed the money was "in my other pair of pants" – leaving Wall Street to deal with its own bad bets. As Larry Summers expected, this led like night into day to the Great Depression we experienced during the Reagan years ... Wait, that never happened. READ FULL STORY >
