OBAMA WATCH CENTRAL

Geithner presided over Wall Street collapse as regional Fed president

By Jerome R. Corsi © 2009 WorldNetDaily NEW YORK – While the nomination of Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner generated plenty of heat because of his failure to pay income taxes for five years, almost unnoticed amid the controversy is the fact that he presided over the failure of some of the largest banking institutions in the world – institutions he was charged with overseeing and regulating as head of the New York region of the Federal Reserve Bank. On Nov. 17, 2003, Geithner became the ninth president and chief executive officer of the Federal Reserve Bank, a position he held until he was nominated by President Obama as treasury secretary. The Federal Reserve's charter makes it responsible for the strength of the financial institutions operating in each of its 12 regional districts. The Federal Reserve Bank of New York presides over Wall Street-based financial institutions. [Continue Reading]

Globalists see econ crisis as excuse for 'new world' - by Jerome Corsi

By Jerome R. Corsi © 2009 WorldNetDaily NEW YORK – A call to utilize the current global economic crisis as a panic in which governments worldwide can move to nationalize banks is emerging from the 2009 World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. The forum's founder, Klaus Schwab, told CNN yesterday the current global economic slowdown is a "transformational crisis" that should be utilized to shape a "new world." "Above all else this is a crisis of confidence," Schwab said. "To restore confidence you have to establish signposts that the world after the crisis will be different. We have to create a new world and that is what Davos 2009 will be all about – serving society." Speaking from the Davos conference yesterday, Nouriel Roubini, New York University professor at the Stern School of Business, told CNBC the global banking system is "effectively insolvent." Apocalypse Rising, the Cult of 2012

From Crazy Uncle in the Attic I ran across this article on Yahoo and it reminded me that the next conspiracy laden paranoid love fest of the gloom and doom crowd is just a few short years away. There's even an "official" website with a countdown clock to the Apocalypse, news pertaining to 2012 and all kinds of articles with which to fuel the fires of impending doom. So as the date gets closer expect to find rabid believers all around the net spreading the gospel of 2012 end time prophecy to deflect from the real problems facing the nation and the world. FOX News on the coming events of 2012
In support of those "capitalizing" on the "2012 cult", I wrote the following comment at digg:
But.... but..... .but, well, there is this thing; it's capitalism in action! I mean, now that there are no manufacturing jobs, and it will be at least two years before the Obama economic stimulus could even work, people need jobs. Making money, we have to feed the kids, there's a cottage industry in writing about doom and gloom and conspiracy theories. Just maybe, we shouldn't be so critical of these things, because then we are then stabbing Capitalism right in the back. And then, there is the various ministries. Well, with income in this country way down, charities and various Christian ministries are suffering from the lack of donations. So, what do they do? There's Jack Van Impe, who announced just last night that there is now a DVD available about 2012 that they can send to you. (This could be a youtube video coming soon.) So, really, should we be attacking the doom and gloomers about this new theme? I mean, if they can make some money on the 2012 apocalypse, why should we object? It's an economic stimulus package of it's own. We should be happy about that, it won't take our tax dollars. Let's just keep that in mind. It is up to you to decide if I'm just being sarcastic, or if I've brought up a valid point to consider. You can take it either way. Thank you, oldguy53, for bringing this to our attention. You may have done a big favor to those that want to make a buck on the 12-21-2012 scare. That may not have been a bad thing.

Millions of people are incarcerated for the non-violent crime of possession of marijuana. And yet, cigarettes and alcohol remain legal. They found out that the prohibition of alcohol didn't work. Prez pushes 'responsibility' – except about sex

By Star Parker In these uncertain times, some things remain constant. One is the arrival each Jan. 22 of tens of thousands of pro-life Americans to Washington, D.C., to note the anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision and to mourn. Forty-eight million American children, given the gift of life, but deprived of seeing the light of day, have been destroyed in the womb since that 22nd of January in 1973 when the U.S. Supreme Court legalized abortion. So, again this year they came. Change really is not such a new idea in America. They have been coming to Washington seeking change now for 36 years. But apparently, the change they want is not change our new president can believe in. Unlike his predecessor, who annually addressed the shivering crowd, Mr. Obama declined their invitation to speak. However, he issued a brief press statement. But the statement was not about change but about the status quo, celebrating the 1973 decision. [Continue reading]

"Dear Rush: For the Obama [Immaculate] Inauguration we are asking a handful of very prominent politicians, statesmen, scholars, businessmen, commentators, and economists to write 400 words on their hope for the Obama presidency. We would love to include you. If you could send us 400 words on your hope for the Obama presidency, we need it by Monday night, that would be ideal." Now, we're caught in this trap again. The premise is, what is your "hope." My hope, and please understand me when I say this. I disagree fervently with the people on our side of the aisle who have caved and who say, "Well, I hope he succeeds. We've got to give him a chance." Why? They didn't give Bush a chance in 2000. Before he was inaugurated the search-and-destroy mission had begun. I'm not talking about search-and-destroy, but I've been listening to Barack Obama for a year-and-a-half. I know what his politics are. I know what his plans are, as he has stated them. I don't want them to succeed. [Continue reading]

Miracles Do Happen! But, are prayers always answered?

There seems to be times when we can easily identify miracles. However, not knowing why the miracles happen when they do, and maybe when we feel they don't happen when we need them, is a question that's way above our paygrade. And sometimes, we may not even realize the Lord has answered our prayers - in His own way.

Eligibility battle rages on 3 fronts

From OBAMA WATCH CENTRAL By Bob Unruh © 2009 WorldNetDaily Officials at Occidental College in Los Angeles, Calif., have been served with a demand to produce records concerning Barack Obama's attendance there during the 1980s because they could document whether he was attending as a foreign national – in one of three fronts now established by those contesting the president-elect's constitutional eligibility for the Oval Office. The Supreme Court and Congress also both are being challenged to address the worries that Obama doesn't meet the requirements of the U.S. Constitution that the president be a "natural born" citizen. WND has reported on a long list of legal cases raising questions over the issue, and several of those have reached the U.S. Supreme Court already. Justices have so far declined to give any of the cases full hearings on their merits, but another conference remains on the Supreme Court docket for Jan. 23 on the issue. "If Obama is sworn in as president, we will file a Petition for Writ of 'Quo Warranto,' a case that will challenge Obama as being ineligible to serve as president because he is 'not qualified,'" said Philip J. Berg, a lawyer who has brought several cases to court. Berg, whose information is on his ObamaCrimes.com website, indicated the issue isn't going away. Orly Taitz, a California lawyer whose dispute remains pending before the high court, agreed, noting that one of the hearings already is scheduled for the days following Obama's inaugural on Tuesday. Taitz said her arguments rest on precedents from both the California Supreme Court, which years ago removed a candidate for president from the ballot because he was only 34, and the U.S. Supreme Court's affirmation of that ruling. The Constitution requires a president to be 35. [Continue reading]

Obama calls for "new Declaration of Independence"

Obama, the first African-American elected president, made what appeared to be a reference to slavery, calling the U.S. Constitution and the Declaration of Independence "documents that were imperfect but had within them, like our nation itself, the capacity to be made more perfect." digg story, submitted by my friend Janinco
By Michael Neibauer Examiner Staff Writer 1/17/09 BALTIMORE -- President-elect Barack Obama capped the first day of his inaugural celebration here before a crowd of about 40,000 people by calling for a “new Declaration of Independence” and a return to the idealism of 1776. At the climactic stop of his 137-mile train trip that began in Philadelphia, passed through Wilmington, Del. and was to end at Washington’s Union Station, Obama spoke of the need to recapture the spirit of the American revolution. “What is required is a new declaration of independence, not just in our nation, but in our own lives - from ideology and small thinking, prejudice and bigotry...” he said. He added, “Only a handful of times in our history has a generation been confronted with challenges so vast,” citing tough economic times and two wars. Americans today must call upon “the same perseverance and idealism that our founders displayed,” to deal with those challenges, he said. In an 11-minute speech, Obama touched on some of the themes he is expected to expand upon during his inaugural address Tuesday. He warned that there would be “false starts and setbacks,” and admitted “I will make some mistakes” on the way to achieving goals of reviving the economy and dealing with conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. Obama, the first African American elected president, made what appeared to be a reference to slavery, calling the U.S. Constitution and the Declaration of Independence “documents that were imperfect but had within them, like our nation itself, the capacity to be made more perfect.” [Continue reading]

To implement his commitment to global governance, Obama has nominated Hillary Clinton to be secretary of state. In addition to her book, "It Takes a Village," Hillary is on record in support of the World Federalist Association's efforts to establish a world government, and publicly applauded Walter Cronkite's receipt of the WFA "Global Governance" award.

Hail King Obama: President for life

Move underway to repeal Constitution's term limits By Drew Zahn © 2009 WorldNetDaily As Inauguration Day approaches and Barack Obama prepares to assume his first term as president, some in Congress are hoping to make it possible for the Democrat to not only seek a second term in office, but a third and fourth as well. The U.S. House Committee on the Judiciary is considering a bill that would repeal the Constitution's 22nd Amendment prohibiting a president from being elected to more than two terms in office. Rep. Jose Serrano, D-N.Y., earlier this month introduced the bill, H. J. Res. 5, which, according to the bill's language, proposes "an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to repeal the twenty-second article of amendment, thereby removing the limitation on the number of terms an individual may serve as President." In the past, some presidents have been critical of the 22nd Amendment, including Eisenhower, Clinton and Reagan. In 1807 Thomas Jefferson, however, warned that presidents not bound by term limits could use their popularity and power to become kings. "If some termination to the services of the chief magistrate be not fixed by the Constitution or supplied in practice," Jefferson wrote to the Legislature of Vermont, "his office, nominally for years, will in fact become for life; and history shows how easily that degenerates into an inheritance." Geithner should not be Secretary of the Treasury

By Clarice Feldman and Thomas Lifson The media rush to exonerate Timothy Geithner's failure to pay his self-employment tax as an "innocent mistake" (in Obama's words) ignores a crucial fact: even after he knew of his liability thanks to an IRS audit, he failed to pay taxes on years covered by the statute of limitations. Additionally, his failure to pay in the first place flies in the face of the fact that his employer, the IMF, notified him regularly of his obligation, and even paid him half of the tax liability, in lieu of the employer's share, money which he kept for himself. Farewell to George W. Bush - by Jane Chastain

By Jane Chastain © 2009 WorldNetDaily No one is perfect. That is true for your spouse, your children, your mom and (look in the mirror) even yourself. While we readily recognize and accept the flaws and frailties of those closest to us, somehow we expect that the person we elect to be president of the United States will live up to all our grandiose expectations and we are shocked when we discover that he is a mere mortal. That said, I say goodbye to President George W. Bush with a lot of mixed emotions. To be honest, I didn't expect a lot from this man. He had run two companies into the ground and road his father's coattails to become governor of the state of Texas. Surely, the country could do better! I was pleasantly surprised on many levels. The 2000 election was so close that Bush literally backed into the presidency without the usual amount of time one needs to assume the office with a team in place. Nevertheless, he was tested on 9-11-2001, as no other American president has been, and he met that test head-on, with strength and resolve. Nineteen days later, one day after Attorney General John Ashcroft announced that new terrorist attacks may be planned for the country in the coming week, President Bush showed unusual courage when he made good on his promise to throw out the first pitch of Game 3 of the World Series at Yankee Stadium in New York. The country was gripped with fear. We had battened down the hatches. Travel plans were cancelled and shopping trips minimized. I will never forget the night of Oct. 30, 2001, when Mr. Bush, wearing a sweatshirt emblazoned with "FDNY," in honor of the New York City Fire Department, strolled resolutely to the pitcher's mound. Yes, security was tight, but he was alone under the glaring lights, before a sellout crowd of more than 57,000 people, an easy target. How many presidents would have done that? Most would have stayed behind layers of security in the bunker. Bush, looking small and vulnerable scanned the upper decks. He paused and smiled and gave a big "thumbs-up" sign to reassure the crowd, before throwing a strike. Then, he walked off the mound to chants of "USA, USA" and the country slowly got back to normal. The Time Clock Has Run Out: Israel Ready to Strike Iran

Monday, January 12, 2009 3:56 PM By: Jim Meyers Informed sources in Washington tell Newsmax that Israel indeed will launch a strike against Iran’s nuclear facilities soon – possibly in just days as President George W. Bush prepares to leave office. The reason: The time clock has begun to run out. Iran is close to acquiring a nuclear device under the control of its radical president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. International Atomic Energy Agency Director General Mohamed ElBaradei said in June that Iran would have a nuclear weapon in as little as six months. That six-month period has passed. Reports of Israel’s decision to imminently launch strikes, although unconfirmed, would seem to contradict the Bush stance outlined in a front-page New York Times story last week, which asserted that Bush rejected a plea from Israel last year to help it raid Iran’s main nuclear complex. The Times said Israel was rebuffed after it requested from the U.S. specialized bunker-busting bombs that it needs to attack Iran’s nuclear complex at Natanz. The U.S. also reportedly nixed permission to the Israeli warplanes to fly over Iraqi territory to reach Iran. Israel’s requests to the U.S. for military assistance came as the Jewish state was reportedly angry over a U.S. intelligence assessment in late 2007 that concluded Iran had effectively suspended its development of nuclear weapons. In a Jan. 6 interview with John Gizzi, political editor of Human Events, Bush said he regrets that the comprehensive immigration bill he endorsed did not prevail. "Well, I'm sorry it didn't pass, because I felt strongly that the comprehensive approach to immigration reform was necessary for border enforcement, as well as recognizing that there are people willing to do work Americans won't do," Bush said. "[W]ithout the law, by the way, we did put fence up, and the border is becoming more secure. 'Atlas Shrugged': From Fiction to Fact in 52 Years?

By STEPHEN MOORE Some years ago when I worked at the libertarian Cato Institute, we used to label any new hire who had not yet read "Atlas Shrugged" a "virgin." Being conversant in Ayn Rand's classic novel about the economic carnage caused by big government run amok was practically a job requirement. If only "Atlas" were required reading for every member of Congress and political appointee in the Obama administration. I'm confident that we'd get out of the current financial mess a lot faster. Many of us who know Rand's work have noticed that with each passing week, and with each successive bailout plan and economic-stimulus scheme out of Washington, our current politicians are committing the very acts of economic lunacy that "Atlas Shrugged" parodied in 1957, when this 1,000-page novel was first published and became an instant hit. Rand, who had come to America from Soviet Russia with striking insights into totalitarianism and the destructiveness of socialism, was already a celebrity. The left, naturally, hated her. But as recently as 1991, a survey by the Library of Congress and the Book of the Month Club found that readers rated "Atlas" as the second-most influential book in their lives, behind only the Bible. For the uninitiated, the moral of the story is simply this: Politicians invariably respond to crises -- that in most cases they themselves created -- by spawning new government programs, laws and regulations. These, in turn, generate more havoc and poverty, which inspires the politicians to create more programs . . . and the downward spiral repeats itself until the productive sectors of the economy collapse under the collective weight of taxes and other burdens imposed in the name of fairness, equality and do-goodism. The Blue Pill People - by Hari Heath

The Blue Pill People By Hari Heath Dec - 2002 "Idaho Observer" There are none so blind as those who will not look. If you are one of those who will look, take a look around. You are surrounded -- surrounded by millions who will not look. These are the blue pill people. Who are these blue pill people and why won't they look? “The Matrix” may be only a movie, but it presents some scenarios with much relevance to our current situation. In the movie, Neo meets Morpheus and is offered an opportunity and a choice. Neo can take the red pill and see the truth for himself, or he can take the blue pill and return, comfortably unaware, to the illusion of the Matrix. There he can live out his life undisturbed by the truth. The truth depicted in The Matrix is an extreme version of modern socialism. In the futuristic scenario of the movie, a massive array of human beings are kept in self-contained pods that resemble artificial wombs. These “row-cropped” human entities are maintained in their pods, from their in vitro conception until they are no longer useful to the Artificial Intelligence (AI) entity. The AI entity needs certain things from these “humans” for its own sustenance, so it continuously breeds new human crops and extracts from them what it needs. In return, the AI entity supplies the humans' needs with several permanent intravenous connections and a neural link. The neural link provides the pod-bound humans with a complete illusion -- the Matrix. In the AI-created illusion the humans have a normal life in a real world. In reality, however, the civilized world was destroyed some time ago and humans have been harvested as crops for the benefit of the Al entity ever since. The Matrix is a complete digital holographic type “world” created by the AI entity to mentally contain its human crops while it extracts what it needs from their pod-bound bodies. In the movie, when Morpheus is about to offer Neo the choice between either the red pill or the blue pill, he explains: “You're here because you know something. What you know you can't explain -- but you feel it. You've felt it your entire life; that there's something wrong with the world; you don't know what it is, but it's there, like a splinter in your mind, driving you mad. It is this feeling that has brought you to me. Do you know what I'm talking about?” “The Matrix,” Neo asks? “Do you want to know what it is? The Matrix is everywhere, it is all around us. Even in this very room. You can see it when you look out your window or when you turn on your television. You can feel it when you go to work, when you go to church, when you pay your taxes; it is the world that has been pulled over your eyes to blind you from the truth.” And Neo asks, “What truth?” “That you are a slave Neo, like everyone else, you were born into bondage; born into a prison that you cannot smell or taste or touch; a prison for your mind. Unfortunately, no one can be told what the Matrix is. You have to experience it for yourself.” Those few humans who were either born into reality, or have successfully taken the red pill, become the focus of the movie's story -- their attempts to destroy the Matrix and liberate the mass of humanity that lives completely encapsulated in their pods and the illusions fed to them by the powers that be -- powers that will go to any length to maintain the illusion. Extreme, but not much different than our modern system of corporate government and capitalistic socialism. The governing powers need things from us, not the least of which is our consent. To obtain our consent we are fed all manner of benefits. We are programmed from an early age to believe that such benefits are necessary. To obtain these benefits, a number of conduits are attached to each of us. Adhesion contracts like Social Security, a driver's license; voter registration for a pretended choice of social masters, bank accounts where credit is manufactured for our use and other memberships, registrations, licenses, deeds and permits to insure the conduct of our affairs will be confined within the “matrix” of corporate governance. We are given our own numbered “pod,” a social net provided by the government. Educated according to mandates of the state, our belief system is further cultured by corporate media. [Continue reading]
