Finally, Some Positive News ~ Ep. 1208 ~ The Dan Bongino Show®

From the Bongino Show's description of this episode on youtube.com/Bongino:
In this episode, I address the likely path ahead for your job and the economy in the midst of the Coronavirus threat. I also address the hapless media and their awful efforts to sell us propaganda from China. I discuss a piece of troubling video about your child’s education and I debunk another liberal myth about the election.
I think that we can all agree that a constant barrage of bad news, from any source, can lead to depression. Depression can lead to health problems.  "We don't need 24 hour doom and gloom," Dan says.  So, in this episode, Dan starts off with positive news, something we all could use some of right now.

Maybe the top take-away from this  episode was when Dan explains that the FDA is doing two things, when there should be just one: Determining the safety of a drug, and determining the efficacy of the drug. The safety of the drug should be their only duty.  The efficacy of the drug, what it is being used for and whether or not it could help in treatment, should be determined by the doctor, with the patient's approval.  In other words, Chloroquine with Azithromycin could be a huge new treatment for Coronavirus, once all the research is in and the FDA approves it for that use.  Also, a new home testing kit may soon be in use, which will help out for those unable to get into the doctor to be tested for Coronavirus, if there are symptoms that the patient has that could indicate being ill with the virus.

And then the segment comes along, where Dan blasts the mainstream media for being such useful idiots for the Chinese propaganda, especially when it comes to NOT naming the Coronavirus, "The China Virus," or "Wuhan Coronavirus," or whatever, because it is "so racist." Dan calls it the "Fake News Block" for the amount of malfeasance that comes from their reporting.  The media on the Left can report news that is never fact checked.  Their lazy base will never do that, but rather, just keep the fake stories (myths) continue to spread, just like the Chinese Coronavirus.  No, we AREN'T going to call it the "Bat Virus" as one useful idiot in the MSM (Richard Engle of NBC) claimed would avoid extreme racism... and that the bat doesn't speak Chinese. Wow...

Highly recommended to depend on Dan Bongino for more upbeat and truthful news, in my humble opinion!

VIDEO: The troubling gaffes by political candidates is getting worse!

To be fair, when asked about David Perdue's comments, this is how campaign spokesman Derrick Dickey responded:
David was simply making the case that he is the most qualified person in this race to help get our economy back on track so that we can start paying down the massive federal debt. His comment was based on facts that are a matter of public record.
I further learned from the Atlantic Journal Constitution column by Jim Galloway that Handel's campaign manager Corry Bliss responded to the email in this way:
It is disappointing that David would demean someone who—by no fault of her own—moved out of an abusive home at age 17, and with her own hard work and determination, is the embodiment of the American Dream.

Karen is an example of how, with great perseverance and sheer will, the circumstances under which you grow up do not dictate your ability to succeed.

While David boasts about all the time he spent living in Europe and Asia, and all of the millions of dollars he intends to spend on this race, this election is about who conservatives can relate to and trust to get results in the United States Senate.
Look, what David Perdue said about Karen Handel was possibly worse than what Rep. Bruce Braley (D-IA) managed to do by disparaging Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) because he doesn't have a law degree. At least what Braley said only matters to liberals that agree with him, such as trial lawyers that don't want tort reform.  In Perdue's case, it was a drastic political error, because he was dividing Republicans by purporting to be "above" Karen Handel only because of his education level.

Yes, it is very disturbing, not just to me, but to even the hosts of The Five.  Greg Gutfeld says in this segment, "This woman is actually overqualified by not going to college."  And Dana Perino very eloquently says that the voters in the Republican primary in Georgia have their answer when it comes to picking the right person to be their candidate.

A long story short?  If you are running for a political office in a Republican primary, don't go divisive like the typical liberals do, especially when it is one of your own!  I can't wait to see if Karen Handel gets a large bump in the polls.  I suspect that she will.  Republicans that do the liberal kind of things, like disparaging opponents, and acting like global elitists, are what I call RINOs.  Just sayin'...

WIFLI Briefing for Apr 30, 2012 - We the People CAN Win!

Welcome to this edition of Time 2 Escape WIFLI Briefing!

What is WIFLI?
You may be wondering what the acronym "WIFLI" means. I started out by calling these issues the Time 2 Escape Daily, but that didn't work out very well. I quickly learned that putting these issues together on a daily basis was a task I was unable to accomplish. To replace "Daily" in the title, I borrowed the acronym WIFLI, which literally means "When I Feel Like It." Putting together a post on this blog WIFLI works much better for my schedule, and for the higher quality of each issue that is eventually published!

FAIR USE NOTICE: This edition of the Time 2 Escape WIFLI Briefing may contain copyrighted material. Such material is made available for educational purposes only. This constitutes a 'fair use' of any such copyrighted material as provided for in Title 17 U.S.C. section 106A-117 of the U.S. Copyright Law.
I am hoping that if you have read a few of my blog posts in this venue, that you will understand that I lean considerably toward being Conservative. And I hope that you have determined that I excel at delivering a narrative that exhibits the confidant personal belief... that I'm right.

However, I have to admit it, I've had times of wondering why I should bother to spend the time working on my blogs. Am I going to change anyone's mind, or am I just preaching to the choir? How would I know if my efforts make a difference?

I really do not have a way to answer that question. There's no tangible statistics like homeruns or strikeouts that tells me if I have a measurable influence in the direction this country was heading. The Rasmussen Report hasn't offered that information to me yet; and if they did, I'd be running for President. If I was a history-maker, you would have heard about it by now.

But I have learned something new this weekend. Hopefully, you will totally understand what was revealed to me. The toughest part of the lesson is knowing that not everyone will agree with everything that we believe. There was the good news that on The Weekend last Saturday when Michael Berry explained very astutely how we must not be dejected when we can not convince a liberal to our way of thinking. It does happen, but not often. What really matters is how many people we touch that had not yet made a decision on which side they are on.

The announcement that you will hear today, the one that will resonate strongly within yourself, is "Game ON!" Hopefully, the resonance will be deep, The stark reality that you will learn about below is that we will win a few when we fight back. We can't win every battle even when we are on the right side.  But here's the deal: The liberals need to understand that we're not going to just lay down and comply, even when they pick five to crucify.  I'm just sayin'...

Rural kids, parents angry about Labor Dept. rule banning farm chores
From The Daily Caller ~ By Patrick Richardson ~ Published Apr 25, 2012 1:31 AM

Update, April 26, 7:55 p.m.: Citing public outrage, the Department of Labor has withdrawn the controversial rulemaking proposal described in this article.

——

A proposal from the Obama administration to prevent children from doing farm chores has drawn plenty of criticism from rural-district members of Congress. But now it’s attracting barbs from farm kids themselves.

The Department of Labor is poised to put the finishing touches on a rule that would apply child labor laws to children working on family farms, prohibiting them from performing a list of jobs on their own families’ land.

Under the rules, most children under 18 could no longer work “in the storing, marketing and transporting of farm product raw materials.”

“Prohibited places of employment,” a Department press release read, “would include country grain elevators, grain bins, silos, feed lots, stockyards, livestock exchanges and livestock auctions.”

U.S. Labor Secy. Hilda Solis
with her new boss,
President Barack Obama
The new regulations, first proposed August 31 by Labor Secretary Hilda Solis, would also revoke the government’s approval of safety training and certification taught by independent groups like 4-H and FFA, replacing them instead with a 90-hour federal government training course.

Rossie Blinson, a 21-year-old college student from Buis Creek, N.C., told The Daily Caller that the federal government’s plan will do far more harm than good.

“The main concern I have is that it would prevent kids from doing 4-H and FFA projects if they’re not at their parents’ house,” said Blinson.

“I started showing sheep when I was four years old. I started with cattle around 8. It’s been very important. I learned a lot of responsibility being a farm kid.”

Here is a superb video about why the Labor Deptartment's proposed rules needed to be withdrawn. This illustrates the reason why this was a great win for We the People!

Child Labor Law Endangers Family Farms
Each year, an estimated 800,000 children work on farms across the United States.
Mending fences, feeding cattle, and driving tractors are all part of the daily chores for farm kids. But a new U.S. Department of Labor rule could make all of those tasks-- illegal.

Kristen Oaks shows us how those rules could threaten the future of one family farm.

Of course, such ridiculously stupid proposals for more government regulations ended up being withdrawn. And the great news is that this shows us that when the American citizens are awake and alert, We the People can actually overcome the desires of Big Government!

Child Labor Rule Withdrawn
Focus turns to educational programs to reduce farm accidents
From AGWEB (Powered by Farm Journal) ~ By Jennifer Russell ~ Published Apr 27, 2012

The U.S. Department of Labor announced April 26 that it is withdrawing its proposed rule dealing with children who work in the agriculture sector.

The department said in its statement:
"The Obama administration is firmly committed to promoting family farmers and respecting the rural way of life, especially the role that parents and other family members play in passing those traditions down through the generations. The Obama administration is also deeply committed to listening and responding to what Americans across the country have to say about proposed rules and regulations.

"As a result, the Department of Labor is announcing today the withdrawal of the proposed rule dealing with children under the age of 16 who work in agricultural vocations.

"The decision to withdraw this rule — including provisions to define the 'parental exemption' — was made in response to thousands of comments expressing concerns about the effect of the proposed rules on small family-owned farms. To be clear, this regulation will not be pursued for the duration of the Obama administration.

"Instead, the Departments of Labor and Agriculture will work with rural stakeholders — such as the American Farm Bureau Federation, the National Farmers Union, the Future Farmers of America, and 4-H — to develop an educational program to reduce accidents to young workers and promote safer agricultural working practices."
Farmers and politicians alike have applauded the decision.

Oh, wait... Now that the problem of the attack on family farms is over, maybe we should start thinking about the fact that the Obama administration is just plain anti-capitalism. The most recent attack came from the EPA, in the form of a bureaucrat trying to set an example. Did you hear about this story? What if it is true? Would a video of the EPA official saying how he'd crucify business operators change your mind?

That's right, I detected some skepticism regarding the Obama attack on free enterprise. But here you go, this is the proof that the transformation of America is not about making sure everyone has a fair chance to succeed. It seems that the real agenda is making sure everyone has a fair chance to have equal results regardless of their efforts.

Nothing like a little propaganda on late night television – that’s exactly what America got when Obama stopped by Jimmy Fallon’s program to participate in his ‘slow jam’ the news bit. Only, there was nothing really that funny, just Obama giving a speech and the host making it appear cool.

America doesn't need a cool president. We need a president that doesn't have to resort to brazenly using the late night show circuit in order to get things done, like improving our economy and cutting the size of the government.

So... I guess if the "preezy of the United steezy" wants to utilize his left-wing media minions for free propaganda, which seems a little sleazy, let's give him a little taste of some well deserved derision.

It isn't all that often that people try to take credit for such a pathetic performance in the last three-plus years of a one-term presidency. But this one-term president shows his arrogance in believing that his base is ignorant enough to want to vote for him again, just because Barack Obama is so cool.

Right back at you, President Obama.  Game on!

I saved the best for last. A week ago, I mentioned the story about Ted Nugent's run-in with the Secret Service regarding remarks during the NRA 2012 Annual Convention on a radio show. In fact, I even linked to the story, "Nugent Ousted From Fort Knox Concert Line-Up." In the story below, Nugent responds to the cancellation.

Ted Nugent says he's insulted by Army base concert cancellation after remarks about Obama
From Yahoo News (AP) ~ By Ryan Pearson, The Associated Press ~ Published Apr 27, 2012

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Ted Nugent said he was insulted by the cancellation of his planned concert at an Army post over his comments about President Obama.

CONSERVATIVE ROCK-STAR TED NUGENT
Commanders at the Fort Knox, Kentucky, post nixed Nugent's segment of a June concert after the rocker and conservative activist said at a recent National Rifle Association meeting that he would be "dead or in jail by this time next year" if Obama is re-elected.

Nugent told The Associated Press this week that his words were not intended as a threat against the president.

"To think that there's a bureaucrat in the United States Army that would consider the use or abuse of First Amendment rights in determining who is going to perform at an Army base is an insult and defiles the sacrifices of those heroes who fought for the U.S. Constitution, Bill of Rights," Nugent said.

Dear skeptics and critics ... ~ By Herman Cain

I realize that the road to the nomination and the White House is long and difficult. I know we will encounter many new challenges along the way and that many people see my chances as against the odds.

When one considers that I am up against the skeptics, the critics, the establishment, the Democrats, the liberals, gotcha journalism, a liberal-leaning mainstream media, the challenges of raising campaign funds and a host of other candidates seeking the same objectives, my candidacy is against the odds.

But then, that's been the story of my life and my career.

Maybe my middle name should have been David. He defeated a giant against the odds.

I am so totally pumped about Herman Cain! He has a major amount of courage that I've not seen in a Republican candidate for a long, long, time. Since the Reagan years, there really hasn't been a Republican ticket that was able to get me excited.

Sure, I was thrilled with George W. Bush, but he was all we had. Unfortunately, "W" disenfranchised many of the most Conservative among us Republicans by the time his term was over. TARP and immigration policy, along with the Ramos and Compean Border Patrol agents that never should have been prosecuted, were policies that were very discouraging for me and many of my fellow Conservatives.

Let me explain my opening statement about finally having a man with courage running for the GOP nomination. There is no doubt in my mind that Herman answers some of the questions on the minds of many when it comes to what some Conservative pundits have said recently. The rap on Herman is his lack of government experience and lack of name recognition. Those things were supposedly Herman Cain's major weaknesses. When you read this column, you'll find that Herman addresses those questions with great ease. Not only does he answer those questions, he actually turns those lemons into lemonade.

When I hear the pundits say there is nothing that is exciting about the current field of potential Republican candidates, they are making a huge mistake. Really, I'd much rather hear them saying that it's hard to choose amongst the strong talent that is taking on the challenge to beat the current incumbent! I can't believe that they are trying to throw another election! What's wrong with them? And do you really want to listen to the establishment that ended up giving us John McCain?

My commentary here with this column is based on what I wrote in a note on my facebook page last Saturday, May 28: "Don't bash the other GOP candidates! (However, Trump Trashing is allowed.)" How about if we just try to lift up any of the GOP candidates even if they are rivals of our favorites that we support?  In other words, I'd be the first to admit that a Palin/Cain ticket would work for me!

Republicans should want somebody that has it in his or her heart to WIN. Obama needs to be defeated in 2012. So, let's get serious about backing a candidate that could not only win the election, but also win the hearts of the American people. We have a lot of work to do. We need to restore the hopes and dreams of Americans if we are going to pull out of this funk that we've been experiencing. Did you hear that the housing market is getting worse? We need to get the confidence of the American people back up. That's what it will take to get the economy back in gear! And I think that gutsy Herman Cain guy is one that can do that. Just watch his latest video!

Can you get excited about this man? Yes you Cain! Herman has emerged! Enough, already! I'm just sayin'...

Wow! I must be causing some people quite a concern as a candidate for the Republican nomination for president. The establishment skeptics are still stuck in the traditional campaign paradigm of immediate name ID, lots of money and experience in a worthy elective office. The critics are pounding on what they perceive as my weaknesses. And the Democratic National Committee now has me on its radar and is sharpening its blades for a Cain attack.

No one is more emblematic of the Republican establishment than Karl Rove. He has an unmatched political record from his tenure with former president George W. Bush. I greatly respect and admire what he has accomplished in his career.

But I would suggest that he take a few minutes to review my record as a leader in business and as a problem solver before he dismisses me as the radio talk-show guy from Atlanta with not much to offer as a presidential candidate. Mr. Rove's perspective also suggests that successful business skills are not applicable to changing the "Titanic" course our federal government is on.

People outside the political establishment are starting to recognize that those business skills are applicable. Maybe that's why Cain is rising in the polls.

One of my favorite political commentators, Charles Krauthammer of Fox News, described my candidacy as entertainment. I enjoy his perspectives because he is usually very thoughtful and often correct in his analysis. Unfortunately, this time he got it wrong. Some people would describe being able to give an informative and inspiring speech as an asset, especially if one is running for president.

Still not getting it ~ By Robert Ringer

Shamefully, a number of establishment Republicans have borrowed the favorite strategy of the left: Isolate and disparage your opponent. It's like the last gasp of a dying dinosaur. Christine O'Donnell has been broke most of her life. Christine O'Donnell had a tax lien filed against her. And Christine O'Donnell lost her home through foreclosure as a result of that tax lien.

Calling all RINOS: Tea-party voters do not view these as negatives. Christine O'Donnell is us! She represents everything tea-party people are mad about. Tax liens make them angry at Washington, not at the person who is on the receiving end of the tax lien. Foreclosures make them mad at Washington, which is the real source of most people's financial problems, not at the person whose house has been foreclosed.
Before you read on, there is something to straighten out concerning what Robert wrote about Christine O'Donnell's tax lien and financial problems. Because of the way the media has gone after Christine on her personal life rather than on the issues, it is important that we know the truth about this candidate. In the video below, starting at 6:10, she gives her side of the story about the tax lien and other financial issues. However, I recommend that you watch the entire video of this segment:

Christine O'Donnell on Hannity - Part 1

Video provided by TheREALjohnny2k

Robert Ringer says something in this column that I have been saying, or at least thinking, for a long, long time: "They want everyday folks to go to Washington." Unfortunately, that is getting harder and harder for everyday people to be able to do because of the growing campaign costs. However, as Christine O'Donnell has shown, it can be done, at least in her primary victory over Mike Castle. She did it with a tenth of the money that Castle spent, and surely much less name recognition. I am hoping that her victory will prove to the Beltway establishment Republicans just how important the Tea Party Movement is. I am also praying that it will encourage other patriots to step up to the plate to take on the establishment politicians from either party, at all levels of government. Just sayin'...
Tea-party voters are savvy enough to realize that none of Christine O'Donnell's personal misfortunes would stop her from voting no to every unconstitutional spending bill served up by congressional progressives. That is what they are looking for in a candidate.

Say what you will about Sarah Palin, she gets it. So does Michele Bachmann, Paul Ryan, Jim DeMint, Ron Paul, Tom Price and a bunch of other tea-party types in the House and Senate. None of them are perfect when it comes to voting – it's an ugly, rough-and-tumble contact sport up there on Capitol Hill – but they're at least making a sincere effort to dramatically reduce government spending and government power. If all Republicans in the House and Senate were in line with them, the future of both our economy and our freedom would look much different than it does today.

Half or more of the American people don't want candidates with experience. They don't want candidates with blue-ribbon credentials. They don't want candidates with Kennedy-like pedigrees. They want everyday folks to go to Washington and repeal Health-care Hell and every other piece of legislation that is unconstitutional. And, yes, they want all entitlement programs phased out.
Still not getting it

By now, people should be beyond surprise when a tea-party candidate upsets an establishment Democrat or Republican – either in a primary or regular election. After all, they've had a year to get used to it.

Nevertheless, the tidal wave of tea-party-candidate victories continues to surprise – and upset – many media pundits and, even more so, establishment politicians. Every possible attempt has been made to marginalize the tea-party people as extremists, but I think it's safe to say that that's a battle that was over a long time ago – and the losers were the hate-mongering left and disbelievers on the establishment right.

But now we've crossed into a danger zone. Trent Lott says that "As soon as (newly elected tea-party people) get here, we need to co-opt them." And, once again displaying the RINO willingness to compromise principles, House Republican Leader John Boehner said, on "Face the Nation," that he would vote for a tax cuts for people making under $250,000 a year (leaving out those with incomes higher than $250,000) if that's his "only option."

Finally, the shocker: The ever-astute Karl Rove, who has been a strong tea-party supporter, allowed a bit of establishment bias to surface when he lambasted the tea party's newest star, Christine O'Donnell. I have no doubts that Rove sincerely believes that establishment candidate Mike Castle, a nine-term congressman, had a much better chance of winning Joe Biden's old Senate seat in Delaware than O'Donnell.

But that misses the point. In fact, in an unintended way, the great non-entity David Gergen – of CNN non-fame – made the best case against Castle by lamenting, "O'Donnell's opponent knew how to work with Democrats." How's that for an endorsement?

The question is, what do establishment Republicans think they would have gained by Castle's election to the Senate? The notion that the Republican's main goal should be to get majorities in both the House and Senate is badly flawed. Having a majority doesn't mean anything if a significant number of that majority repeatedly backs socialist bills offered up by Democrats. They may just as well be Democrats.

So long as Republicans in the Senate include constitutionally subversive progressives like John McCain, Richard Lugar, Orrin Hatch, Susan Collins, Lindsey Graham and Olympia Snowe – to name but a handful of examples – having a "majority" is meaningless.

What a large number of Republicans cannot seem to come to grips with is that tea-party people are simply everyday Americans. In fact, most tea-party people have never gone to a tea-party rally, but feel just as strongly about what is happening to America as those who are actively involved in the movement.

If there is any hope for the Republican Party to survive, the word compromise must be eradicated from the minds of philosophically confused "conservatives" in their ranks. You cannot compromise between right and wrong. You cannot compromise between freedom and slavery. You cannot comprise between stealing and respecting the property of others. You cannot compromise between constitutional and unconstitutional.

Rockefeller Republicans ~ By Patrick J. Buchanan

To the Republican establishment, tea-party people are field hands. Their labors are to be recognized and rewarded, but they are to stay off the porch and not presume to sit at the master's table.

And what O'Donnell did, with her amazing victory, is to imperil that establishment's return to power. That is why these Republicans went ballistic.

O'Donnell's conservative convictions and Castle's social liberalism mean nothing to them.
Christine O'Donnell on Fox and Friends: She can win!

Video provided by TheREALjohnny2k

Pat Buchanan explains just exactly what is wrong with the Beltway Republican establishment, and he does it without even using the word "RINO." And actually, I am sure that is purposeful. Not all of the establishment Republicans are Republicans In Name Only. Some of them actually are Conservatives, at least to some degree. Not all of them are Progressives as some people might want to believe.

There is an explanation for why both Conservative AND Progressive Republicans make up the Beltway Republican establishment, and it has a lot to do with why they became upset about Christine O'Donnell winning the Delaware nomination for the U.S. Senate seat. You see, if there are enough Republicans of whatever stripe they come in, to make up a majority in the U.S. Senate, they then regain the committee chairmanships. And that, folks, is what this is all about: Personal power.

The Beltway Republican establishment is showing their true colors by being down in the dumps about O'Donnell winning, rather than Mike Castle, who they felt could and would win the Delaware Senate seat formerly held by Joe Biden. As Karl Rove said, more or less, "Now the Republicans may only win 7 or 8 seats instead of 8 or 9." You see, it didn't matter if Castle was a RINO. They just wanted the Republican majority in the Senate for their own personal power.

The good news is that on November 3, the Beltway Republican establishment may just wake up to find out that Christine O'Donnell will be representing the State of Delaware in the U. S. Senate. And if that is the case, Jim DeMint will have one more excellent ally in the U.S. Senate for the TRUE Conservative and Tea-party cause. Just sayin'...

Beltway Republicans say they have learned their lesson. But the tea-party folks and conservatives who vaulted O'Donnell to victory are saying: You had your chance. Now, move aside for new leaders.

Why is the tea party wrong – and the establishment right?

The first tea-party rebellion was the Barry Goldwater movement. When it triumphed at the Cow Palace, Nelson Rockefeller denounced the movement as riddled with radicals, baited the Goldwater people at the convention and refused to endorse the nominee.

A decade later, Vice President Rockefeller got his payback, when conservatives demanded that President Ford drop him off the ticket as the price of renomination. Ford agreed.

In its contemptuous response to O'Donnell's victory, the GOP establishment of today looked like nothing so much as the Rockefeller Republican establishment of yesteryear. Its time is coming, too.

Is the Republican establishment losing it?

Is the party leadership capable of uniting a governing coalition as Richard Nixon did before Watergate and Ronald Reagan resurrected in the 1980s?

Observing the hysteria and nastiness of Karl Rove and the GOP establishment at the stunning triumph of tea-party princess Christine O'Donnell, the answer is no.

This party is not ready to rule.

Consider. In its grand strategy to recapture a Senate that George W. Bush and Rove lost in 2006, the GOP Senate leadership endorsed all its own caucus members for re-election, if they chose to run, then picked out all its favorite candidates for the open and Democratic seats.

Conservatives and tea-party activists, however, had other ideas. They began to pick their own candidates. And, again and again, the Senate's chosen were rejected in favor of tea-party challengers who had the endorsement of Sarah Palin or South Carolina's Jim DeMint.

Arlen Specter was rejected by the Pennsylvania GOP and left the party. Rand Paul routed Sen. Mitch McConnell's man in Kentucky. Charlie Crist was challenged by Marco Rubio in Florida. Crist, too, departed. Sen. Bob Bennett was denied renomination in Utah. Sen. Lisa Murkowski lost her primary in Alaska to a little-known fellow named Joe Miller.

But Delaware was the stunner. Rep. Mike Castle, a former two-term governor who had been winning elections for 40 years, was a certain victor in November.

Challenger O'Donnell, however, ended all that.

Yet, though her conservative credentials are far superior to those of Castle, O'Donnell was made the object of a wilding attack by National Review and the Weekly Standard, Charles Krauthammer, who lashed out at Palin and DeMint for "irresponsbility," and Rove, who on Sean Hannity's show went postal as soon as the returns came in.

Now, on paper, O'Donnell is a far tougher sell in Delaware than is Castle. But her defeat is not certain. Not in this volatile year.

And what is the justification for the savagery of the attacks on her, from her own?

What has this woman done? Did she vote for Sonia Sotomayor or Elena Kagan for the Supreme Court like Lindsey Graham? Did she support the Obama stimulus like Olympia Snow and Susan Collins? What did she do to deserve the trashing?

The answer is not distant.

Obama's Iranian hostage crisis ~ By Jack Cashill

Those geniuses in the Obama Chicago-style thugocracy can't figure out how to plug a hole. Jack explains how those lefties in power that think we can't run our own lives or businesses without their intrusion always seem to run into problems they have no idea how to solve. Jimmy Carter had his 444 days of the Iranian hostage crisis. Yet when Ronald Reagan took the oath of office, the next thing you knew, the hostages were released. Go figure.

Now we have the environmental disaster from the oil leak in the Gulf of Mexico, and Obama and his geniuses have no clue what to do, except maybe take BP to court. Sorry, but that doesn't save the wildlife and stop the leak and it definitely isn't doing anything for the fishing and tourist industries along the Gulf coast. But it is even worse than what Jack is talking about with the oil spill. I don't see much sign of the economy recovering, either. They are still digging us further and further into the national debt hole. And ObamaCare isn't going to solve the rising cost of health care anytime soon, if EVER! And in the meantime, illegal immigrants are still spilling across the Southern border with Mexico... except maybe not so much in Arizona anymore thanks to their brave action.

Rahm Emanuel's stupid mantra about never letting a crisis go to waste is backfiring. They aren't looking so smart these days. In fact, every time there's a crisis, they seem to know how to make it worse. Maybe it is time for the Republicans to not let a crisis go to waste, and whip the Democrats this November and in 2012, and take back Congress and the White House. Just sayin'...

Like their president, Obama's best and brightest believe that "human beings don't always do what's in their rational best interest ... but with the proper government rules and incentives, society could be dramatically improved."

Now if just a one of these geniuses could plug a damn hole, we might begin to take their claims of improving stuff a little more seriously.

Almost from the day the oil started gushing in the Gulf of Mexico, conservative pundits were describing the problem as "Obama's Katrina."

In a vacuum, this would not have seemed strictly fair, given that there was nothing about the gusher itself or Obama's initial response to it that would have merited his ownership.

Five years earlier, however, Democratic loyalists and their media allies had for the first time in history bestowed ownership of a hurricane on a president, and they did this even before Katrina made landfall.

After the hurricane hit, this same unholy cabal largely exempted the Democratic mayor and governor from responsibility and attributed all their failures, as well as the routine shortcomings of any federal operation, to President Bush personally.

By the time the media finished slicing and dicing Bush, they had people in New Orleans thinking that Karl Rove had blown up the dikes and Bush himself, in the memorable words of singer Kanye West, had given the military "permission to go down and shoot us."

So Republican turn-around in assigning blame is certainly fair play. Besides, if Obama did not deserve blame for the leak itself, he has come to own the administration's futile response.

Critics continue, however, to use the wrong metaphor to describe his pickle. This is no longer "Obama's Katrina." This is "Obama's Iranian hostage crisis." The Katrina folly ended after a few days. Today, on day 40-something and counting, this is the folly that keeps on embarrassing.

Jimmy Carter can sympathize. For the 444 unhappy days after his new Islamic friends seized our embassy and took the workers hostage, the media microscope zoomed in on his presidential warts.

Although Carter was never much fun to begin with, he could allow himself none while his misunderstood buddies humiliated him and us before the world. The crisis eventually cost him the presidency.

Now, this crisis is magnifying the weaknesses of Obama's presidency, one of which is his fatal reliance on what is sometimes called "Maslow's hammer." Said psychologist Abraham Maslow some years back, "It is tempting, if the only tool you have is a hammer, to treat everything as if it were a nail."

Given that Obama, like so many prominent Democrats – Michelle, both Clintons, Kerry, the late Ted Kennedy, John Edwards – is a lawyer surrounded by other lawyers, the tool he has at hand is the lawsuit.

Accordingly, from day 1, Obama has spent his energy not on fixing the problem, but on fixing the blame. He seems to have no greater goal than finding someone to sue or maybe, if AG Eric Holder gets lucky, even imprison.

But unlike health-care reform or financial regulation, Obama cannot just hold a few hearings, harass a few people and pretend he has solved the problem. This problem is just too real.

Obama's futility has proved particularly corrosive because he promised so much. Newsweek's Jonathan Alter, in fact, has titled his new Obama book, "The Promise."

Although critics on the right, me included, have busied ourselves looking to see who is pulling Obama's strings, I am now convinced that if there is a puppet master, it is Obama himself.

This seems counterintuitive. We naturally look for something larger, something more worthy of our concern. But there is something large afoot here, and that is Obama's super-sized ego.

Karl Rove On The House Republican Retreat

From the RUBY SLIPPERS blog:
Much has been made of the President's appearance at the House Republican retreat on Friday. MSNBC changed their lineup Friday night to host a one hour special touting the genius of Obama's success in handing those nasty Republicans their hats and sending back where they belong, in the political wilderness. It was obnoxious. It was also a gross overstatement but we've come to expect nothing less from that network. It was an amazing moment according to Democrats:
The moment President Obama began his address to Republicans in Baltimore today, I began to receive e-mails from Democrats: Here's an except from one of them: "I don't know whether to laugh or cry that it took a f$$@&$* year for Obama to step into the ring and start throwing some verbal blows... I'm definitely praying at mass on Sunday morning that this Obama doesn't take another 12 month vacation." This e-mail comes from a very influential Democrat. Accepting the invitation to speak at the House GOP retreat may turn out to be the smartest decision the White House has made in months. Debating a law professor is kind of foolish: the Republican House Caucus has managed to turn Obama's weakness -- his penchant for nuance -- into a strength. Plenty of Republicans asked good and probing questions, but Mike Pence, among others, found their arguments simply demolished by the president. (By the way: can we stop with the Obama needs a teleprompter jokes?)
I watched most of this event on Friday and saw a defensive thin-skinned Obama pretend he was suddenly all about bipartisanship. As usual, Obama laid a heaping helping of blame on Republicans but was forced to admit the Republicans had ideas, that he'd seen them and considered them. Perhaps it's just me but didn't he just spend an entire year claiming the exact opposite? READ FULL STORY >

Voter Anger Is Building Over Deficits ~ By Karl Rove

From THE WALL STREET JOURNAL | OPINION JOURNAL
The generic poll shows a 16-point swing to the GOP over last year. Karl RoveBy Karl Rove NOVEMBER 26, 2009, 11:40 P.M. ET After engineering an unprecedented spending surge for nearly a year, President Barack Obama now wants to signal that he takes deficits seriously. So this week the White House announced that it is considering creating a commission to figure how to fix the budget mess. Eureka! Well, almost. What seems to concern the president is not the problem runaway spending poses for taxpayers and the economy. Rather, what bothers him is the political problem it poses for Democrats. Last year, Mr. Obama made fiscal restraint a constant theme of his presidential campaign. "Washington will have to tighten its belt and put off spending," he said back then, while pledging to "go through the federal budget, line by line, ending programs that we don't need." Voters found this fiscal conservatism reassuring. However, since taking office Mr. Obama pushed through a $787 billion stimulus, a $33 billion expansion of the child health program known as S-chip, a $410 billion omnibus appropriations spending bill, and an $80 billion car company bailout. He also pushed a $821 billion cap-and-trade bill through the House and is now urging Congress to pass a nearly $1 trillion health-care bill. An honest appraisal of the nation's finances would recommend dropping both of these last two priorities. But the administration has long planned to run up the federal credit card. In February, Mr. Obama's budget plan for the next decade projected that revenues would equal about 18% of GDP while spending would jump to 24% of GDP, up from its post World War II average of 21%. Annual deficits of about 6% of GDP were projected for years to come. READ FULL STORY >

Memo to GOP: No guts, no glory ~ By Tom Tancredo

From WorldNetDaily
Tom TancredoBy Tom Tancredo Posted: October 03, 2009 ~ 1:00 am Eastern © 2009 Thank God John McCain lost the election. Citizen activists are now energized to defeat Obama's Marxist radicalism – with no help from McCain's anemic pragmatism. Eight months into the Obama presidency the Republican opposition is suddenly thriving because of the patriotic reawakening provoked by Obama's Marxist agenda. But this Republican revival will be short-lived if party leaders ignore the real message of the tea party protesters and 9/12 marchers. We are witnessing a grass-roots rediscovery of our constitutional traditions and a principled resistance to the expansion of entitlement spending. This resurrection of principled conservatism could never have happened if John McCain had won the 2008 election and enshrined his anemic "hands across the aisle" opportunism as the Republican Party's new orthodoxy. The last thing the country needs is another Republican administration dedicated to the "no entitlement left behind" Kool-Aid that Karl Rove and his clones sold to Bush and party leaders. Obama's radicalism has generated a genuine, mushrooming, rational fear for the future of our constitutional republic. The grass-roots revolt is not about which political party gets to preside over the death knell of liberty. It is about halting this slide into tyranny. The Republican Party can decide to help lead this revolt, or it can get out of the way and stop obstructing it. In my home state of Colorado in the last month, Sen. McCain attempted to dictate the Republican nominee for the 2010 U.S. Senate race. He made calls into the state to persuade a favorite of the party establishment to take on conservative Ken Buck, who had already launched a strong campaign. Apparently, McCain and national party leaders want a nominee who is not so conservative on the illegal-immigration issue. This kind of "play it safe" thinking is a replay of past mistakes, and it is not a formula for leading a successful citizens revolt against Washington hubris. The citizen activism that brought over 1 million ordinary Americans to the Capitol Mall a week after Labor Day is only in part a reaction to Obama's radicalism. It is also more than that – it is more than "just say no" to Obama's health-care plans. It is also a rediscovery and reaffirmation of the conservative principles that were abandoned or belittled by Republican Party elites in the Bush era. [CLICK HERE TO READ MORE]

The secret weapon in America's revolution ~ By Chuck Norris

From WorldNetDaily
Chuck Norris By Chuck Norris Posted: September 28, 2009 ~ 1:00 am Eastern © 2009 On Sept. 28, 1781, Gen. George Washington led a combined force of 17,000 French and Continental troops upon Yorktown (Virginia) and encircled British Gen. Lord Cornwallis and his regiment of 9,000 British troops. Washington bombarded Cornwallis and crew day and night for three weeks with artillery and cannon fire, until Cornwallis surrendered on Oct. 17, 1781. Negotiations for peace began in 1782, with the Treaty of Paris being eventually signed on Sept. 3, 1783, formally ending the eight years of war and securing America's independence. The key to victory at Yorktown came when, at the mouth of the Chesapeake, the French navy helped to corner Cornwallis and his crew from fleeing by sea, while Marquis de Lafayette, who under Washington led 5,000 American soldiers, blocked Cornwallis' escape by land. Lafayette was only 23 years old at the time. Lafayette was only 16 years old when he joined the Black Musketeers back in France, an elite unit of royal troops that rode black horses. He started fighting in the Revolution in 1777 at only 19, at which time Congress gave him the rank of major general. Two months after the British surrender at Yorktown, Lafayette returned home as a "hero of two worlds." Marquis de Lafayette was one of Gen. George Washington's secret weapons in the American Revolution. Youth are often the key to victory in many revolutions. That's because people often underestimate their potential or perceived contributions. I believe young people will play a critical role in reawakening and returning America again to its founders' vision, ways and principles. It's amazing for us today to think about how much a young Lafayette sacrificed and accomplished for our country as well as his own. We are still inspired by his example of youthful courage and heroism. Many adults would say that type of valor rarely exists anymore. But as I meet and hear from young Americans here and around the world, I beg to differ. Though our society often denigrates the teen years and expects very little from our young people, I believe there exists a latent power in this particular generation that waits to be awakened and reveal its full potential. If we're going to win America's culture wars, we need the younger generations to do it. There is no way around it. We need to reengage with our young people and plug them into America's glorious past so they can build a brighter future. I'm not talking about selling them on a partisan platform but a patriot one (like our founders had). I'm convinced that this is why Ron Paul's candidacy for president grew into a mighty grassroots swell – it tapped into the technologically and socially based Millennials, who possess a strong anti-imperialism and lets-take-care-of-home mentality and passion. Propaganda press circle the wagons ~ By Erik Rush

From WorldNetDaily
Erik RushBy Erik Rush Posted: September 17, 2009 ~ 1:00 am Eastern © 2009 On the Sept. 14 edition of Fox News' "The O'Reilly Factor," host Bill O'Reilly queried former President Bush adviser Karl Rove as to whether he thought President Barack Obama is simply a garden variety far-left guy trying to get his agenda across, or actually committed to supplanting our current form of government and economic system with different and quite alien ones. Mr. Rove equivocated; I don't know whether he is of the opinion that leveling such a harsh charge (as the latter) would be unseemly, or he simply didn't want to risk being that wrong. Neither am I aware of what Rove or O'Reilly actually believes, but my opinion has been made quite clear. Last week, video footage began to surface in the alternative press produced by filmmaker James O'Keefe, 25, and his partner Hannah Giles, a 20-year-old student. Through undercover work, they were able to very effectively implicate the Association of Community Organizers for Reform Now (ACORN) in providing counseling to Giles and O'Keefe (who were posing as a prostitute and her pimp, respectively) that amounted to criminal conspiracy. In the past, ACORN employees have been involved in (and, in more than two dozen cases, convicted of) voter fraud; typically, the group has claimed that these exceptional and infrequent crimes were committed by "rogue" employees. The organization also has deep and long-standing ties to President Obama, who brought them on board in various advisory and administrative capacities when he took office. He formerly provided them with legal representation, taught classes for them, and they endorsed his 2008 presidential campaign. This, of course, gives rise to the question of how much ACORN learned from Obama, given that he instructed their operatives. While public outrage over the deeds of the taxpayer-funded ACORN is apparent, and the Senate voted on Sept. 15 to cut off federal funding to the group, the establishment press has essentially ignored one of the largest and most widespread instances of corruption tied to government in history.
