Living up to potential, and way beyond!

This all started while I was listening to Glenn Beck, and reading Phil Elmore's Notes on Facebook. In one of his notes, Phil writes:

"Every so often you encounter a gas station clerk who is clearly living up to his full potential."

I had a good chuckle, and nodded my head in agreement. But then, it got even better. Glenn Beck, on his radio show, played a clip of a statement made by Rep. Hank Johnson while questioning an Admiral about Marine troop movements to Guam. What the Congressman said was astounding. Genius! I had to immediately check for a clip on youtube just to verify it wasn't an April Fools' Joke! Apparently, it wasn't!

April 01, 2010 — Hank Johnson (Congress D-GA) - Warns Guam May Capsize

No, it is not an April Fools Day joke. Georgia Congressman Hank Johnson (Democrat) said during an Armed Services Committee hearing last week that Guam is in danger. My fear that the whole island will become so overly populated that it will tip over and capsize, he said in all seriousness.

We dont anticipate that, responded Adm. Robert Willard. For some reason he did not bust out laughing.

Johnson went on to warn about climate change.

So, do you see why we need to start being careful about who we elect to represent us? The gas station clerk that Phil referred to would probably have more potential than that elected representative to Congress. Or, maybe, at least a little more common sense!
