Well, when we first told friends we were moving to north Idaho, some were genuinely puzzled. "Why do you want to move to where there are white supremacists?" one asked. There are approximately a million and a half people who live in Idaho. One jerk attempted to start an Aryan Nation compound near Coeur d'Alene in the early '80s and after many years recruited as many as 300 followers – and a huge number who opposed him (the movement eventually died off, both literally and figuratively). Now all 1,500,000 residents of the entire state are automatically branded as white supremacists simply for living in Idaho. See the logic here? Thanks to the media's constant panting for shocking news (and their own political agenda), one bad apple has spoiled the entire barrel. Now we have a mentally ill man gunning down late-term abortionist George Tiller in cold blood. Thanks to the media's constant panting for shocking news (and their own political agenda), now all conservatives who oppose abortion are locked, loaded and ready to open fire. Terrific. The right-hand segment of this country believes we are heading in a profoundly leftist and terrible direction. But what is the best method to reverse course and revert to the ideals of our Founding Fathers? Is it to gun down abortion doctors? Is it to blow up federal buildings in the Midwest? Of course not. No sane person believes these tactics to be effective. Only the unstable think this kind of violence is the best means to achieve an end. [Continue reading]
