The tea party vs. "OccuMob" ~ Pat Boone hits it out of the park!

I don't know, but maybe Pat Boone reads my Facebook posts. Back on October 24, 2011, I wrote:
There is a big difference between the Tea Party movement and the Occupy Wall Street movement. While the tea partiers want to get the government off our backs so that the economy can thrive, ...the OWS movement is all about abolishing capitalism and giving government more control.
Whether or not Pat had read my posts (Pat and I ARE friends on facebook!), at least I know we are on the same page. Pat expounded (knowingly or unknowingly) on my theme for that post last Monday. There IS a huge difference between the Tea Party Movement and "OccuMob," as Pat called the Occupy Wall Street (astroturfed) movement.

Of course, you will remember when Pelosi and other Democrats accused the Tea Party Movement of being financed by unnamed sources, most likely "capitalists out to screw us all." However, Pat Boone not only accurately shows that the OccuMob was organized (astroturfed), he tells us how people in the "1%" that the Occupy Wallstreet Movement are targeting in the uprising are involved in actually funding and organizing the demonstrations.

This column is of extreme importance for one good reason: Not everyone will know that there is a difference between the Tea Party MOB and OccuMob. The mainstream media is not about to tell you about it. You're going to have to step up and tell people you know that there is a huge difference between the two movements. They won't hear it, otherwise. There is plenty of ammunition to expend that will come from Pat Boone's column. Make use of it! ... I'm just sayin'....

Heard just today on the radio, a newsman asking the "occupiers" in New York City why they were there and what was their purpose:

"F--- Wall Street! F---- politicians! F--- the rich! F--- the police!" was one answer, from one protester.

"Soak the rich b-----s. We want more money. Take it from Wall Street, and send the b-----s to jail!" was another.

"All politicians are criminals! So are the bankers! We demand our rights!" was a constantly repeated refrain. "Tax the rich!" was another.

Many of the demonstrators, some sleeping in tents and others right out in the open in sleeping bags and blankets, eating at improvised "soup kitchens," seemed vague when asked, not quite sure what the objectives were, but expressing anger at the status quo and "solidarity" with the other demonstrators, whatever the goals might be. Some carried signs handed to them by organizers, but couldn't explain exactly what their meaning was.

One young college student, obviously "playing hooky," observed, "This was fun for a couple days, but I've gotta get back to class. I'll do a report, and my professor will love it."

These protests, these "Occupy" demonstrations, just seemed to "spring up" spontaneously in city after city across the country … or so the compliant and empathetic media reported. A number of liberal TV commentators, and eventually even the vice president and President Obama himself, characterized the events as "evidence of widespread discontent" about the economy, joblessness and corruption on Wall Street. And they compared them to the tea-party phenomenon – as if all reading from the same script.

Tea party? Were they kidding? Were they serious?

Hijacking the tea party ~ By Joseph Farah

I sure hope a lot of people read and pay attention to what Joseph Farah had to say in this column. The election this November, the Midterm election, is the most important election that we may have ever experience. It could be our last chance. As Joseph says, it is "a pivotal vote that will determine whether the United States of America will continue to be the shining city on a hill, a beacon of freedom and justice throughout the world." It will be our time to let the politicians know that We the People are no longer going to be apathetic. We the People aren't going to continue to twiddle our thumbs, thinking that there isn't anything we can do about what our politicians are doing to us.

This is OUR time to take back America, and We the People do not have much time left if we want to stay free. We need to vote, not just in November, but very importantly, NOW, during the primaries. It is our chance to get rid of the politicians who have been treating us like useful idiots. Just like what some of us did during last Summer's Congressional recess, where we crowded town hall meetings and gave the Congressmen and Congresswomen a piece of our minds, it's now time for the smack-down in order to show the politicians that didn't listen to us and went ahead with passing ObamaCare that they can no longer get away with it. It's time to let them know that they represent us, and can no longer get away with ignoring the Will of We the People. Just sayin'....

Pray that God smiles on America this year.

Pray that God smiles on the tea-party movement and uses it mightily.

Pray that God confuses the minds of all those who would use this movement for their own self-aggrandizement.

Pray that the tea-party movement does not get hijacked by those who would turn it into a strictly materialistic endeavor devoid of God's real concerns for the nation.

Pray for unity and success for the tea-party movement.

The tea-party movement is only about two years old, but, because of its potency, there have already been many attempts to hijack it.

From politicians trying to resurrect their careers to media activists trying to establish careers, there is a temptation to think of the tea-party movement as cattle or sheep that can be herded in any direction with skillful manipulation.

I don't believe that's true.

I hope it's not true.

The tea-party movement is so important to the future of the country precisely because it is an amorphous, grass-roots uprising – called not by leadership but by national crisis and necessity.

It's not only political folly to attempt to get in front of this parade, it's probably bad career advice.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: The tea-party movement is the broadest and potentially most powerful grass-roots political movement in my lifetime. But there is also a spiritual component to it that most of the hijackers either can't understand or don't want to understand.

This is not just a band of Americans angry about their dollar not going as far as it once did. This is not just a movement centered on materialistic concerns. This is not just a bunch of rubes in need of direction from more sophisticated minds.

I laugh when I hear seasoned conservative activists talking about how they intend to teach the tea partiers how to be winners.

With the exception of a momentary second wind in 1994, the conservative establishment has been moribund since Ronald Reagan's administration. Because it threw its lot in with the Republican Party, come hell or high water, the conservative movement allowed itself to be co-opted and taken for granted.

The great potential of the tea-party movement is that it will not allow that to happen.

Unifying the tea party ~ By Joseph Farah

This is an excellent idea for unifying the tea party. It makes sense. It eliminates arguments. It might even help to silence the critics. The only ones that would argue with how Joseph explains it are the very ones that we want to vote out or remove from office!
Read the Declaration of Independence.

It's still a beautiful vision for Americans today.

In fact, given our predicament, we are in greater need of independence, self-government, sovereignty, the rule of law and the will of the people than we were 234 years ago.

The only thing that will constrain this beautiful, spontaneous, grass-roots tea-party movement from achieving its goals is a vision too small and unworthy of the challenges we face.

There are many powerful forces trying to splinter and divide the tea-party movement.

My goal is to unify it.

But I adamantly disagree with those who say they share my goal but want to reach it by defining the tea party as a movement about a limited number of economic issues.

In fact, that's a sure way to blow it up.

Every worthy and righteous movement in the history of America was about much more than materialism. And, ultimately, if you are concerned about economics alone, you are a materialist.

The founders of this great country are the inspiration for the modern tea-party movement. They were not materialists. Their concerns went far beyond economics. They had a dream about something that had never before existed in the history of the world – a nation governed by the rule of law and the will of the people, a vision of "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness," a concept "that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights."

If the tea-party movement wants to reach its potential, it needs to forgo the temptation to "narrow" its focus to a set of mere issues and "expand" its vision to one in line with the Declaration of Independence.

You want a big tent? Expand the vision. You want a small tent? Narrow your focus to economic and materialistic issues that are here today and gone tomorrow.

The economy ebbs and flows. It works in cycles. But liberty, the founders recognized, is always under attack.

Open your eyes. What we're facing in America is not just an attack on prosperity. It's an attack on freedom – across the board. It's an attack on "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness." It's an attack on the notion that we are all created equal by God. It's an attack on the very notion that we are accountable to God and made in His own image.
