Obama: Those ideas failed already ~ By Herman Cain

In this column, we're reminded why Obama's economic strategies are not working. Uncertainty is one of the major reasons why the economy isn't "stimulated."

As the column continues on, Herman Cain spells out his NEW plan to get the economy going again. Herman's "9-9-9" plan is vastly different than his original ideas, where the Fair Tax had been featured. Will Cain's new 9-9-9 plan help or hurt him in his quest for the Presidency? You can find out what the new 9-9-9 plan is by reading this column, and then you can decide for yourself.

I've provided the video below to assist you with informing yourself.

The U.S. economy is on life support. The stock market is on a roller coaster. The unemployment situation has gotten worse. The Middle East is more volatile than ever. Congress has one of the lowest approval ratings in history, while President Obama's approval rating has hit a new low.

And now, after his big "jobs speech" before a joint session of Congress last week, the president wants to spend another nearly $450 billion to turn things around, since the first stimulus of nearly $1 trillion did not work. The speech contained the same kind of ideas he proposed earlier, packaged in some different rhetoric except for two new additions.

First, he proposed to cut the payroll tax in half for both employees and employers, but he did not say for how long. Granted, it's half of what I have been proposing for months. But without major companion cuts in the top corporate and personal income tax rates, and the suspension of taxes on repatriated foreign profits, it's just another crumb from the want-to-be king's table.

Businesses are not going to rush out and start hiring people, just as they did not when the president passed the 2 percent payroll tax crumb in the first stimulus package. And businesses still do not know what the tax structure will be in 2013. That's not fuel for the economic engine, which is the business sector. It's just a few dollars in the pockets of workers and more uncertainty.

Economic vision, Part 3: A fairer tax ~ By Herman Cain

Replacing the current tax code with the Fair Tax is Phase 2 of my Economic Vision for America, discussed in Parts 1 and 2 in the two previous commentaries. We must take some time to introduce and explain the concept of shifting taxation from income to consumption, and how it is fairer, flatter, simpler and less burdensome and costly than what we are doing today.

As president, I will end the insanity of the current tax code.

It's common sense.

One of the major reasons why I support Herman Cain is because he favors the Fair Tax method for collecting revenues, rather than the graduated (progressive) income tax, payroll taxes, corporate taxes, and death taxes.

Our current system of income tax has become a complex monstrosity. Unless you are filing a 1040-EZ, the complexities may require you to have somebody else with tax preparation expertise to prepare your taxes for you. Another major problem with the income tax system as it is now is that it has allowed our U.S. Representatives and Senators to be lobbied into giving tax breaks to special interests. But, of course, the major problem will always be that the income tax, being graduated - meaning that the higher the income, the higher the rate an individual has to pay - is nothing but redistribution of income. That's right, folks, the graduated income tax is one of the 10 planks of the Communist Manifesto.

There seems to be several major issues that Conservative and/or Republicans voters may have with the Fair Tax. However, it is painfully obvious that there is a lot of misunderstanding about the Fair Tax plan. I can help solve that problem. Let's start with the videos below, allowing you to hear Herman Cain's explanation of several of it's elements:

And here is a video presented by FairTax.org, which will verify what Herman Cain has said about the Fair Tax in the videos above:

Of course, the biggest opponents to the Fair Tax will be the liberals who claim that it is regressive (which is refuted by the video above). But what the real hatred the liberals possess for the Fair Tax would be that it would eliminate all their weapons of class warfare through income tax, inheritance tax, and payroll tax. Because the liberals do not want to see the Fair Tax go into affect, they will be doing everything they can to stop it from happening, including the use of deceptive misinformation. This is why it is important for us to inform ourselves of how the plan is going to work, and then be able to use that information to inform others - with the TRUTH!

It is true, though, that it would still take quite the fight to get this plan through Congress. You know that tax professionals in the law and accounting fields would fight against this plan, tooth and nail. The Fair Tax would be putting many of them out of business. H & R Block would no longer have a purpose.

The only way to get the Fair Tax enacted will be to elect candidates that can't be bought off by the lobbyists that would be against the Fair Tax. That is definitely no small task. Tea Party candidates would be our best bet. And most certainly, we would need a President in the White House that would sign the bill. Herman Cain is the only Republican candidate that we can count on to sign Fair Tax legislation. The Fair Tax is part of Herman Cain's strategy to get our economy going again. It's time to "raise some Cain." I'm just sayin'...

Paying taxes is a fact of life, because there are certain things that our federal government must provide as enumerated in the Constitution. But paying taxes does not have to be unfair, burdensome and costly. Our current system of taxation is all three, and it got that way little by little over time since 1913.

The Fair Tax, or H.R. 25, is a fairer tax because it is just the opposite. It is fair because consumers determine their taxes based on their purchase behaviors instead of being determined by the government based on their capacity to produce. Our production is measured in terms of personal income and business profits.

The Fair Tax is a one-time, one-point national sales tax on new goods and services. It is not collected on wholesale purchases, but rather, it is collected on retail purchases when the consumer consumes, and not when the consumer or business produces. This is totally consistent with Economic Guiding Principle No. 1 as described in "My economic vision: A job for every home."

The Fair Tax is also fair because everybody pays the same consumption rate of 23 percent. Liberals hate that concept because it does not give them a tool to redistribute the income of others as with the current tax code. The rate is revenue-neutral and replaces all federal income and payroll taxes.

That's right! There will be no more income tax fillings and no more Internal Revenue Service! That would be another day of independence worth celebrating.

America doesn't need political experience ~ By Herman Cain

I would be a people's president, taking common sense solutions directly to the people to get their support, which would impose pressure on the committee of 535 to do what's right for the people for the right reasons. The citizens' movement has shown that when people understand it, they will demand it.

My primary motivation for even prayerfully considering a run for the presidency is all of our grandchildren. I have three, and I do not want to have to tell them what America used to be like when men were free, as Ronald Reagan said.

Herman Cain, January 17, 2011 ~ "A people's president"
Herman Cain discusses his possible run for President in 2012. It seems that his main concern is for his grandchildren, which is exactly what we should all be thinking about as our priority in the future elections.
I must first make a final decision to run during this exploratory phase, raise enough money to be competitive, win the Republican nomination and then defeat President Obama.

That's obviously an uphill battle for anyone. But I am willing to make such a huge consideration because of our grandchildren. They don't deserve to inherit the mess we will leave if we do not change the current course of the U.S.

Previous political experience got us into this mess. People are looking for a leader, not a politician.

America doesn't need political experience

In last week's commentary I announced the formation of my presidential exploratory committee. The majority of the responses I have received have been very positive and encouraging, and the responses to the common-sense solutions I have discussed at dozens of town hall-style meetings have been outstanding.

My focus at these meetings has been on strengthening our national security, unleashing the full growth potential of our economy, cutting government spending, modernizing our social programs, fixing our immigration problems and implementing a real energy independence strategy.

HERMAN CAIN ADDRESSING
A TEA PARTY CROWD
People have responded especially well to my approach to problem solving.

They are not expecting a leader to have all of the answers, but an effective leader knows how to get to the answers. Leaders identify the right problems, set the right priorities, select the right people and execute the right plans on behalf of the people.

These meetings have also given me an additional opportunity to listen to people's concerns and ideas. Two years ago, people expressed themselves as "concerned" about the direction of the country. Now, they consistently express "fear" about the direction of the country.

They know that our economy is growing at an anemic rate. They have figured out that a "jobless economic recovery," as expressed by the administration, is just political spin. They know that our national debt and debt obligations to foreign countries are dangerously out of control. And a large majority (66 percent) of the people simply believes that the U.S. is moving in the wrong direction.

Unlike many of the politicians in office, I hear the people. They want solutions, not more problems or more problems put off for a future time that Washington never gets back to solving. Our Social Security and Medicare crises did not just sneak up on us. We have known they were coming for decades!

At none of the many meetings did anyone tell me that they wanted someone with previous political or office-holding experience. Whereas this is a typical question by reporters and commentators, regular folks couldn't care less.

Lower and simplify taxes! ~ By John Stossel

Today, April 15, is a very special day! It's tax day! While 47% of the population don't pay any taxes, the rest of us, both individuals and corporations, must spend hours upon hours just filling out the tax forms, only to find out how much we get to pay to Uncle Barry. (Uncle Sam has now retired. He didn't like what kind of changes were coming to transform America.)

In his column, Stossel illuminates the kind of burden of time and cost it takes to get through all the complexities of the tax law. Does it not seem like a huge waste of productive time and money that could be used for other things? But, hey, I guess the tax attorneys and accountants really don't mind at all!

What are we to do? Some people say scrap the income tax for the Fair Tax, a national sales tax. Others want a flat income tax of, maybe, 17 percent. One form; no deductions.

There's always danger in proposing a replacement for the income tax: We could end up with two taxes. I wouldn't put it past our greedy Congress to promise that a national sales tax – or worse, a value-added tax – would replace the income tax and then, once the new taxes are in place, to say that the need for revenue is so great they must retain the income tax, too.

Let's not take our eye off the ball: lower and much simpler taxes.

It's that joyous time of year: income-tax time. So I spend time with my accountant. I don't want to see him, but I must. I could not do what he's doing. The tax code has grown so complex that today most Americans hire someone to do their taxes.

For the money I pay my accountant, I could get a hundred massages. I could buy a fancy motorcycle. I could take a cruise ship to Venice and back.

Better yet, I could do some good in the world. I could pay for two Habitat for Humanity homes
or help three kids escape government schools by paying their tuition at a good Catholic school.

What a shame that I pay my accountant instead.

How'd we get to this point? U.S taxes were once simple! The government funded itself on tariffs and excise taxes. It didn't violate our privacy by asking us how much we made or how many dependents we have.

But in 1913, the politicians decided they needed an income tax.

At first, they took little money: just 1 percent on incomes between $20,000 and $50,000. Those were big incomes – adjusted for inflation, $50,000 is $1.1 million today. The top bracket paid 6 percent, but that only applied to people who earned at least $11 million. Anyone who made less than $400,000 paid no income tax.

But leave the amounts aside. The increase in complexity is just as evil.

In 1913, the first tax form and instructions totaled four simple pages. Today's 1040, with instructions, totals 176 pages. How did this happen? Because politicians win votes by giving gifts to favored groups.

On my FBN show tomorrow, I'll show clips of the pandering legislators applauding themselves for offering tax credits to special interests. The favored groups cheer their tax breaks, but the result is that everyone else pays more, and everyone must spend more time deciphering the rules.

And with every credit, the tax code gets more complicated. The code is now 3,784,745 words long, not counting the 2009 and 2010 changes. It will get worse in the future.

Americans spend more than 7 billion hours trying to comply, according to a forthcoming study from the National Taxpayers Union.

"That is the equivalent of 3.7 million employees working 40-hour weeks year-round without any vacation. That's more workers than are employed at the five biggest employers among Fortune 500 companies," writes David Keating in the NTU study.

"Counting time and money for individual taxpayers, the compliance burden would total an incredible $103 billion for individual taxpayers alone."
