Time stood completely still
Unable to move on;
Lost in shock and horror
That Americans were gone.
Life as we knew it
Just a short time ago
Was forever altered
By enemies we didn't know.
Family, friends, loved ones
Were stripped from our sight
Leaving us with anger
Holding on with all its might.
Tears flowed freely from eyes
That were red with our tears;
Minds in utter anguish
At our overwhelming fears.
